Can't create a Content
Type List Item on Visual Studio 2010
Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to select the specific content type in new item form.
This is a default behavior. The "Add new item" link uses the default content type and does not display a dropdown list to change that value. This behavior is hard coded into the control and can't be changed.
Here are some similar threads for your reference:

Question about creating association between Sharepoint BDC entities using Visual Studio 2010
I am following this tutorial:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vssharepointtoolsblog/archive/2010/08/02/walkthrough-of-creating-association-between-sharepoint-bdc-entities-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx
I am getting the following error:
There is an error in the TypeDescriptors of Parameters on Method with Name 'CustomerToOrder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'Customer' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1'. The TypeDescriptors incompletely define where the Foreign
Identifiers of Entity 'Order' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1' are to be read. That Entity expects exactly '1' Identifiers, but only '0' TypeDescriptors with the correct Association were found from which to read them.
I have viewed the following:
http://lightningtools.com/business_connectivity_services/the-typedescriptors-incompletely-define-where-the-identifiers-of-entity-x-are-to-be-readbcs-error/
after reading that article, I am still not sure what setting I am missing. Does anyone have the full working source code from the msdn article linked above?Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got the symbols not loaded error.
First try rebuilding your project by right mouse click the project > Rebuild If that doesn't work, try a clean of the project (right mouse click on the project > clean)
If that didn't work check this:
Right mouse click your project
select [Properties]
select the [Build] tab
make sure [Define DEBUG constant] and [Define TRACE constant] are checked
Click the [Advanced] button at the bottom of the Build tabpage
Make sure that [Debug Info:] is set to [full]
Click [OK] and rebuild the project ;
Hope that works for you! (step 6 generates the .pdb files, these are the debugging symbols)
What’s more, you can clean & re-compile the code, then install the respective dlls one more time to GAC (just remove them before adding to GAC again), do an IISReset to check whether it works.

Crystal Report not listed Add New Item for Visual Studio 2010
I just finished installing cryestal report for visual studio 2010.
During the installation a visual studio error dialog popped up "Operation cannot be completed. Access Denied", the crystal report installation continued and was informed that the installation was successful.
But on opening my visual studio project to add new item, crystal report item is not listed there.
Is there anything that needs to be done to get it listed in the Add New Item dialog for visual studio?I wonder what file you ran to install CRVS2010? Was it the MSI as opposed to the actual install file?
The link to the correct install is here:
http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_2.exe
Is that the file you ran to install CRVS2010? E.g. as opposed to:

Can't create external content type
Hi,
I'm trying to create an ECT in Sharepoint Designer for my Office365 environment. I have an E3 license, so I should be alble to create one. I need it to create an external list from an Azure SQL DB.
In Sharepoint designer, the button for a new ECT is available, but if I click the button nothing happens. I have an SSS-object with the credentials already.
I do not know why the button is not reacting. Hope someone knows.
JordyMake Sure you have done all these steps before you start creating an external content type..
Prepare SQL Server A database administrator needs to provide permissions to make sure that that the right people have access to the data and that the data does not end up in the wrong hands. The database administrator must also
create a SQL Server account that has db_owner permission. The database administrator might also want to create specific tables, views, queries, column aliases, and so on to limit the results to just what is needed and to help improve performance.
Configure SharePoint services An administrator must activate Business Connectivity Services (BCS) and the Secure Store Service.
Configure the Secure Store service An administrator must determine the best access mode for the external data source, create a target application, and set the credentials for the target application.
Configure Business Data Connectivity Services An administrator must make sure that the user who creates the external content type has permission to the Business Data Connectivity (BDC) metadata store and that appropriate users
have access to the external content type on which the external list is based.
Be sure Office 2013 is ready to use To synchronize external data with Office 2013 products, you must use Windows 7 or a later version, and make sure that the Office installation option for Business Connectivity Services (BCS) is
enabled (this is the default). This option installs the Business Connectivity Services Client Runtime which does the following: caches and synchronizes with external data, maps business data to external content types, displays the external item picker in Office
products, and runs custom solutions inside Office products. You must also have SQL Server Compact 4.0, .NET Framework 4, and WCF Data Services 5.0 for OData V3 on each client computer (If necessary, you are automatically prompted to download the software). -
AME can i create a Rule type List Creation and category For Your Info?
Hi,
I have created two rules.
1st rule create the list of approvers to approve the leaves i.e. supervisor then department head.
Till this every thing is going fine transaction are getting approved by both approvers and leave is crated in Application.
Now I create 2nd rule to send FYI notification to HR Administrator.
When employee Appling for leave it shows the list of approvers correctly i.e. supervisor, department head as approvers and HR Administrator FYI notify.
Now HR Administrator opens the notification and close the notification and Approvers approved the transaction. PPROBLEM IS Transaction is not getting close and hence leave is not getting create in application._
Edited by: SHEIKHG on Aug 28, 2009 9:11 PMNo I have not customized the workflow. becuse the notification have all details if the rule is list creation. But if rule type is post-chain-of-authority approvals or pre-chain-of-authority approvals then the notificaiton has no useful info.
Thats why I want to use Rule Type List creation for FYI notification. But when i do so my transaction is not getting complete. -

Can I add Custom Content Type created programmatically to Custom List Definition?
I have created Custom content type programmatically in the Feature Receiver. Followed by this have another feature which creates List Template. I want to add the custom content type to the list template.
Using VS 2012, I added the custom content type to the list definition. The Schema.xml for the list definition looks as below:
<ContentTypes>
<ContentTypeRef ID="0x010100D7D9F4B1F4A9684BB44389571024B2EC00C393BB21B8AD7B41B62A87DF0501504D" />
</ContentTypes>
ID was automatically added by the VS tool.
List Template is created, the new content Type is also added, but the Name is displayed as "Document" instead of the custom content type name. So I see two CTs with the name "Document".
How can I achieve this? Any help is appreciated.Hi,
Please add EnableContentTypes="TRUE" in the <List > tag.

Can somebody help me - how to overcome the RegistrationsInfo missing field - error(in the stack trace) when activating the feature in the training site?
Thanks
SathyaHi Sathya,
Seems the field “RegistrationsInfo” is not been found when deploying with Event Receiver, a possible reason is that it might be damaged.
As a workaround, I suggest you retract the solution from your farm, make sure the “RegistrationsInfo” field is deleted using PowerShell, then create another project with the same
content and perform the deployment again.
About how to delete a field using PowerShell for your reference:

Feel free to reply if there any progress.

Create a project from list item not working if EPT has Project Plan Template
HI,
i am trying to leverage the new feature in 2013 to create a project from an idea list.
This works fine if the EPT does not have Project Plan template assigned to it. Even through workflow action "Create Project from current list item".
However if i assign a project plan template and the user creating the project is not Administrators Group member, i get an error. While doing this trough a workflow the worfklow gets suspended and i have the below message:

Any one has experienced this ?
ThxHi, RonyZ.
I think it could help.
I have experienced the same problem as you are, except "Create project" option, my managers could do it.
So, for me a solution was to set definite permissions for Workflow Initiators (I have created new group, but you can edit, including
Global permissions
New project
Open project template
Server configuration management
For category “My organization”
Open Project
Publish Project
Save Project on Project Server
Excuse me my translation, some names can be written not properly, cause I have localized SP.
In you case, I think, you should check, if you PM group has all these permissions.
And Workflow Initiator should be in group which has.
In LOGS error notifications starts with “Permission denied”, then goes account
name and then the name of permission which is left. -
I am working on a list in Sharepoint 2013 and I have created several content types with this lists. I want customers to be able to create a new object and get a different FORM based on the type of object they create.
The challenge I found is that when they click on "NEW ITEM" they get the default content type and are not allow to select which one they want. However, if they go to edit the item after creating it then they can change the content type from a drop
down menu in the ribbon.
I have noticed that this feature is active in a Document library however not in list webparts.
I was wondering if there is any way to activate the Content Type drop down on a list as they click "NEW ITEM"?Hi Niklas,
You are correct, while click to "New Item", SP will open a page to add new item with default content type.
Workaround of this problem, not to use the "New Item" link, use the Ribbon menu to create an item. See screenshot below

whats the possible way of acheiving this in oracleIf you use a list item to display multiple columns then you'll need to use a fixed-width font. You can achieve a similar look with proportional fonts by using a normal block and setting the fields' bevel to 'None'.
Each column in the LOV has a Return Item property (under Column Mapping Properties). Set this to a :block.item reference for each column to bring the data back into those referenced fields.
You can't select multiple records from an LOV. For this you will need to create your own form. Check the help for system.mouse_button_modifiers to see how to respond to Ctrl+click and Shift+click.
To add columns just modify the LOV's record group's query. -
Not seeing Portable Document File in the Content type listing
Newly downloaded and installed Firefox doesn't have Portable Document File format option in the Content Type listing. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 11 which is working fine parallely. The Plug-in's and Add-Ons have all been set correctly.
Basic issue, not able to view PDF files via FirefoxSee also:

You can rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

Where can I create Partner Role type (TSW003-supplier) for TSW
HI IS OIL Expertise,
Where can I create Partner Role type (TSW003-supplier) for TSW?
Because while creating partner role @T Code: O4TQ @ Role Assignment” TSW003-supplier” not available on drop-down list.
please do needful on this.
Thanks
ChandraHello Chandrasekhar
As you know that Partner Role is -
"The master data record of a partner role is used to define a business partner. The partner role includes information about the activities that the business partner can carry out and where the business partner carries out these activities. Stock-holding objects, such as plants and storage locations can also be defined as partner roles."
According to your screen shot and question, you want to define the TSW003 which only shown when you enter Vendor code in initial screen i.e. O4TQ.
Thanks
