Can't create a true ADF Libray JAR FIle

I created a Model project. Then created an ADF Library JAR File Deployment Project to deploy the jar to the file system.
I then, created a separate project and tried to add the export jar file to it via a File System connection in the Resource Palette.
But, when I right click on the jar file in the Resource Palette, I only see 2 options, "Open" and "Advanced Search".
I expected to have an option to add the jar to the selected project.
Now, I am able to add the jar to the Project if I go to the projects properites, then add the jar via the "Libraries and Classpath".
Note that even the icon for the jar is different than those from other System Jar files (the bookshelf/library icon).
The icon I see for my jar is hard to identify, sort of like a torch.
So, what is going on?
I have double and triple checked that my deployment profile is for an "ADF Library JAR File".
I have deleted the default deployment profile and create a brand new one.
Still, the same issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

When you say you see the XML files for the EOs & VOs do you mean in the resource palette? Never mind, let's take a step back.
Via the following link this is what you should see for a Model project ADF Library JAR that contains EO/VOs etc:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/pic01.png
If you were to right click on the JAR this is what options you should see:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/pic02.png
I'd suggest you're still doing something wrong when you create the ADF Library JAR. To assist you via this link:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/Model.zip
...you'll find a previous workspace/project I've setup. If you right click on the Model project look to the Deployment options you'll see an ADF Library deployment profile called "Model_Model_adflib". If you exit out of the preferences, right click Deploy -> select Model_Model_adflib, the appropriate ADF Lib JAR will be created under Model/Model/deploy. Returning to JDev and the Resource Palette, add a file system connection to this deploy directory, then you should see what I see above.
Let us know how you go.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey thanks so much for the reply.
    Let me tell you the exact scenario. I'm actually developing a struts-application. Hope I can get some help here too.
    I have:
    1. login.jsp-where user logs in.
    -I have a userid and a password as default values for each unique user.
    Where should i store these details -in HashMap??
    -How can I display error messages if userId/passWord is invalid on login.jsp page ??
    2. confirmation.jsp-on successful login, he's shown his details:
    YOur first name: .........
    Your last name: ........ etc.
    -Here I can't use bean:write tag to read from form-bean.
    - how do i display it here without using a scriptlet ?
    3. LoginAction.java
    -Here i will get userId and passWord from LoginFormBean.java setter
    and getter methods.
    -For all validations' results, should i call a boolean getUserDetails() method from form-bean, wherein i can map values(first name, last name etc ) to each key (userid) ?
    i can use methods like:
    if (isValidUserId && isValidPassWord )
    LoginValidateUtil.getUserDetails();
    return mapping.findForward("success");
    But, can I assign many values to a single key using Map ?
    4. LoginFormBean.java
    -Here should I have to use set/getUserDetails() ?
    -If so, how do I use Map there?
    I want to have userId as the only key to which i can map values and not password.
    5. LoginValidateUtil.java
    -Here all validations are defined and boolean result is passed to LoginAction.java.
    Hope you got what I meant.
    Please tell me if i am right in this approach...
    Thanks in advance,

  • Work with ADF Library jar file

    Hi
    My English isn't very good
    I use jdeveloper11.1.1.3.0
    I want to work with ADF Library jar file.
    I created two generic application. In each application I have a View Obj(one for employees table and one for department table ) and added them to App Module,
    then I made a ADF Library jar file for each application: adflib_emp, adflib_dep
    Then I created two separated application and in each application I created a BTF .
    In emp_TF1 I added adflib_emp jar file to application and in dep_TF2 I added adflib_dep jar file to application.
    These two applications work well. Then I created ADF Library jar file for each of these applications named: adflib_TF_1 and adflib_TF_2
    Finally I designed a main page to use these two jar file(adflib_TF_1 , adflib_TF_2). I added thses two jar file to application and then I dragged and dropped each TF to main page as a region:
    <af:panelSplitter id="ps1" splitterPosition="500">
    <f:facet name="first">
    <af:region value="#{bindings.emp_TF1.regionModel}" id="r1"/>
    </f:facet>
    <f:facet name="second">
    <af:region value="#{bindings.dep_TF2.regionModel}" id="r2"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:panelSplitter>
    When I run main application both TF show employees table, but one TF should shows department table and the other one should shows employees table.
    I read oracle document and created my application on base of it. But I don't know why this happen and how to solve it?

    Hi,
    most likely the names of the application modules are not different but the same, which means you have a naming problem. Application modules (if they should be used as is) must have a unique name

  • ADF faces jar files needed (urgent)

    Hi,
    I have downloaded one sample adf faces application from oracle site, but it does not have the jar files. They are saying that you can download the neccassary jar files from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) Web site as a .zip archive that contains the tag libraries, documentation, and a Web application example.
    But i was not able to locate the specified zip file in OTN web site. If someone knows please tell me from where should i download the specfied jar file.
    I have downloaded the sample appl from the following link..
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/cioroianu_jsfadf_v4.html
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Saravanam

    Hi,
    This is a very old how-to that was released during JDeveloper preview. If you go to otn.oracle.com/proucts/jdev --> JSF then you can find the download reference.
    The newer - production class - ADF Faces jar files are not for download separately but are part of Oracle JDeveloper and available in its jlib directory. So you could go download JDeveloper and get adf-faces.jar

    How can I create a link from a CHM file to a webhelp file?
    The CHM output (accreditation.chm) is stored in a parent directory, and the webhelp output (index.htm) is stored in a child directory.

    Open the usual Link dialog and enter the relative path from where the CHM will be installed to where the webhelp will be installed.

  • Can't run JavaFX app as a jar file from command line

    I'm trying to build a JavaFX app from scratch (that is, by including the jar file from the JavaFX SDK rather than by using the special JavaFX project type from NetBeans). Unsatisfied link means that Java is trying to access a native library, but it cannot be found. As to why this error is being thrown, here is my guess:
    If you open up one of the sample jars with a zip viewer, you will see that the Manifest file has the following entries:
    >
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Version: 2.0
    implementation-vendor: Oracle
    implementation-title: BrickBreaker
    implementation-version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Application-Class: brickbreaker.Main
    Created-By: JavaFX Packager
    Main-Class: com/javafx/main/Main
    >
    In other words, a JavaFX project works a bit differently than a normal Java project. com/javafx/main/Main is used as the Main class and your "Main" class is called later.
    If you are trying to build this from a normal Java project, then com/javafx/main/Main will not be created and it will call your Main class right away. Thus, whatever setup is needed to run JavaFX will not occur.

    either add the other jar file to your classpath or do the following (taken from http://javaalmanac.com/egs/java.lang/LoadClass.html)
    e68. Loading a Class That Is Not on the Classpath
    A URLClassLoader can be used to load classes in any directory.

  • How to create package and import from jar file?

    Hi all,
    I am writing a software and I am not sure how to create a package for the classes.
    Say I have two classes in the same directory as follows:
    testA.java
    ==========
    package AB;
    public class testA
    public static void main(String[] args){
         testB myB = new testB();
         System.out.println("A test");
    testB.java
    ===========
    package AB;
    public class testB
    public testB(){
         System.out.println("B constructor");
    both file compile without the package heading;
    both file compile using: javac -classpath .\ *.java
    Question 1:
    I cannot run testA by: java -classpath .\ testA
    I think it is a syntax error. What is the correct one?
    If I run testA by: java testA
    The only output I get is: A test
    But I am expecting: B constructor /n A test
    What went wrong?
    Question 2:
    I need to use APIs of another software. I have downloaded a .jar file (xxx.jar) with all the classes in it. And I have put "import xxx.*;" in my source file. But the compiler complains about the importing. What is the right way to copmile it?
    I have read a couple of tutorials but they don't answer my question.
    (I am using windows2000 and don't have the classpath variable.)
    Hope some one can help.
    Thanks a lot

    Try moving testA out of the package and importing 'AB.*;'
    If you have:
    ./testA.class
    ./AB/testb.class
    Then to execute testA from ./ type: java -cp . testA

  • How to create a java card library (jar file to be used in other programs)

    Hi all,
    I am working on JCOP and writing quite a bit of applets for the java card . Now i have lots of code that could be reusable for example sending SMS, encryption routine, etc.. So this part of the code i want to put into a utility class and create a package out of it. This utility package i must be able to import into my programs what i write.
    I tried the normal way of creating the jar by renaming the CAP file of the utility class, also tried including the /javacard/* files also into the jar file as indicated by sfarmer(active forum member here). But none seems to work. I tried contacting NXP folks and they indicated that it may be possible only by way of Sharable Objects.
    But some how i am not convinced why i should use Sharable object for this. So if any one can throw some light into this regard it will be immensely helpful to me and my project.

    Hi,
    Well the variable defined are as below
    public static byte[] msgdata = new byte[255];
    private static final byte[] HEADER_TEMPLATE = {
              (byte) 0x81, (byte) 0x03, (byte) 0x01, (byte) 0x21, (byte) 0x00, // Command details tag
                   (byte) 0x82, (byte) 0x02, (byte) 0x81, (byte) 0x02, // Device Identities tag
                   (byte) 0x8D, // Text String tag
                   (byte) 0x00, // length
                   (byte) 0x04, // Text String tag
    the msgdata is declared public so that i can access this as a Class member in my other program doing Utilities.msgdata. But the problem is now that if i dont declare it as final then the compiler gives me the below error
    "library has initialized array for non-final, non-static field Utilities, msgdata, [B, attr jc-field: tok 0, public static"
    If i make it final then i cannot change it... So now i am stuck..
    Any help will be highly appreciated...

    I have created a jar file encompassing the class file and java file for this applet signing it with the designated signature. When using the jar file, the applet will start, but no names can be resolved (including the local machine) and there are no errors on the java console...(???)
    HTML code is as follows:

    <body>
    <form>
    <fieldset style="width:100%"><legend>  ?</legend>
    <select name="CNList"
    onChange="var f = document.forms[0]
    if (f.CNList.options[f.CNList.selectedIndex].text=="") {
    alert("Please choose a computer name for this test.");
    f.CNList.focus();
    return false;
    }else{
    var cnv = f.CNList.options[f.CNList.selectedIndex].text;
    document.myApplet.newText(cnv);
    return false;"

    Anyone have any ideas as to why this can't be performed?

    Hey thanks for the response (seems that most responses
    are gender specific around here :) )!No, they are not. Ask a good question (not "do my homework for me") and ask it specifically, and you will get good help whatever your gender. I am a girl; I make no attempt to hide this. I have always gotten good, solid advice from this forum without any reference to my gender, without any ascerbic remarks, without scorn from the respondant.
    You are probably referring to the "girl needs som help" thread or other recent threads from girls (well maybe girls, who knows).
    The content of these posts were:
    1) asking to help with blatant cheating on homework
    2) extremely vague
    3) used the OPs gender as an excuse for 1) and/or 2)
    Using your gender as an excuse for being unable to put code together and requesting help with cheating:
    -implies girls are too stupid to do math, programming, engineering
    -implies that girls who are in these fields are freaks/mutants/other
    -implies that gender is an exucse for laziness
    -implies that girls cannot think logically
    -implies that girls do not have to follow rules of integrity, or that girls have no integrity
    Such posts understandibly raise the ire of women software engineers who have worked hard to get where they are. (And also of male software engineers who can see through the request as a play on a stereotype)
    It is akin to a girl coming to my office hours and saying "I have my mechanics final exam tomorrow, but I didn't study all semester because I'm a girl and math is too haaaaard"
    Honestly, I would try to help the girl as much as I could, not because she's a girl, but because it is part of my duty, my responsibility, to help students.
    But before I could do it, I would have to count to ten a few times to get my temper under control.

  • How can I make my source code with jar file?

    I use JDK1.6.0. I can open a class file from rt.jar and get its source code. Does this because open source JDK? I wander how I can make my jar file with source code.

    But why I can read source code from rt.jar? I found there are only class files in it.I say it's highly likely that you can't and your IDE's settings rather automatically refer to the src.zip file in the JDK's directory.I see. That's true. I use eclipse as the source code reader. It may refer to the source code zip file automatically.
    Thanks all.

  • How can I create a link to download a file in Captivate?

    So, in my Captivate file, I want people to be able to download an XML file to their machine.  If I create a hyperlink to "open a file", then when a user clicks on it, captivate attempts to open the xml file in a browser window instead of downloading it.  I can't figure out how to use the download attribute for an href in captivate and I'm not sure if javascript to do this would execute properfly.  Anybody know the best way to accomplish a force download of a file from a captivate presentation (Captivate 6)?
    TIA.

    If you want to really do this so that it is consistent for all browsers, you'll need to implement this at the server level.  I did this with the Dynamic PDF Export Widget.  Typically, a PDF will be displayed in the browser, but I added the ability to download it instead.  It does require a PHP file (or some other server side script).  In the PHP file, you'll want to set the response header for Content-Disposition to "attachment"... that's the key.
    The elbow grease part has to do with managing how the browser handles the link.  You'll want the Captivate hyperlink to open a new window so that the student does not navigate away from your course in the current window.  But since you are opening a PHP file, you can inject javascript into the document of the new window/tab to close itself.  The download will still continue eventhough the window/tab was programmatically closed.  However, most modern browsers will automatically close the window/tab for you when downloading a file.  If you want to see an example of a PHP file that implements this, go ahead and download the trial version of the Dynamic PDF Export widget.  You'll see the create.php file in the zip package.

    If you want to go simple as TLC Media Design suggested, just zip it and let your students unzip the xml file, or just rename the xml file with a .zip extension and tell them to rename the file back to .xml after downloading.
