Can't deploy mappings after migration 10.2 to 11.2.0.2

We migrated the test system from 10.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.2 using Repository upgrade MDL files approach. After redeployment of locations I still can't deploy a single mapping. What happens is that I get the ORA-20008 "The specified location parameter cannot be modified because the location contains deployed objects". Upon this the design center pops up the location, if I click OK I get the same ORA-2008 and ORA-06512 at OWBSYS.WB_RTI_EXCEPTIONS, line 119, and WB_RT_STORE_REGISTRATION, line 230 etc.
I've tried to register / unregister and register again all Locations, which appears to work but it didn't help.
Generally I don't care at all about deployment information, but this is a show stopper with the upgrade to 11.2: we can't get the new version to function.
Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

Hi,
you may try to unregister the location first using OWB 10.2 (or manually revoke owb roles and drop owb synonyms and tables of the specific user).
Then add (register) the user to owb 11.2.

Did you install the latest version of iTunes on the new PC? The usual reason for this is that you had a newer version on the old PC.
If you can't get it to work the simplest thing to do is to drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml from the iTunes folder to desktop.
Then start iTunes and use the following link to recreate your library.

Note you already dragged the library files out of the iTunes folder.

Select it and open the Info dialog. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you should have read & write access, and everyone (else) should have read access. If that's not the case, click the lock icon, authenticate, and make the necessary changes. Close the window and try again.

Admin can not log in after migration Teaming

I did migrate Teaming 1.0.3 (SLES 10 SP2) to Teaming 2.1 (SLES 10 SP 2) on a different server according to information from this web site Novell Documentation
Everything worked with one exception admin account can not log in :(
The rest of the account works, but users are taken from LDAP.
I tried to use the old admin password as well as a new admin password set during installation Teaming 2.1
In catalina.out log I got:

Can't Create User after migration

I recently upgraded a PPC xserver running leopard to a new Power Mac running lion server. Everything seemd to go smoothly but after a more thorough look I am having issues. The main one being I cannot create users in the I go into the server.app and the + is greyed out. The only way I have been successful in adding users is through system preferences.
I am also having a trouble with my web server it appears as though even though the service is running I can't get any pages to load via a web browser.
Last issue I know of at this moment is I am una able to start the VPN service. Everyitme I click on the toggle it turns on then goes back to off.
Instead of doing a clean installation I migrated aftert reading that it would be my best bet.
Can anyone hlep me that may have had this or a simlar problem?

The prof_attr file contains the comment:
Can perform most non-security administrative tasks
for System Admin.
In addition I don't see a corresponding entry in exec_attr and without that then you aren't going to be using that role to run any commands. You can try it in SMC to see if it works there but its doubtful.
You'll probably need to create a separate role and add the user to that role.
A grep of exec_attr shows that User_Management is probably what you're after.

Can't open iphoto after migration to new machine

I just migrated from an older iMac to a new one, and now when I try to open iPhoto I get the message "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto". I tried updating iPhoto on the new machine, but it seems to be up to date. The old library is VERY large (>35 GB), and I don't want to have to go back and deal with touching up all the photos again. Any ideas?

I have a strange problem. I created on Windows a 11.2.0.3 database std. edition. I installed there also the client software OWB in version 11.2.0.3.
Now I did the following steps.
1. I've created with the repositry assistent my repository.
2. I loged on with OWB (Design Center) and created a new project ( I dont like the project name: My Project).
3. In the connection navigator I've created under Oracle two locations (one for the source destination and one for the target destination)
a) The source destination is also an oracle db.
4. Now I am imported a table from the source destination.
5. I've created a very simple mapping with to table operators and one filter.
a) The first table operator ist the source table, the second the target table.
6. The filter condition is 1 = 1 because at first, there is nothing to filter. The insert mode in the target destination is truncate/insert.
7. I 've pressed the button bind and create to generate target table
8. I deployes the target table without any errors.
9. Now I want to deploy the Mapping and received the following error:

Hi,
no there isn't any db link.
The Source hasn't any connectors.
The target has one, but it is the connector from source.
The State of the connector is new. But when I want to create them, I got also an error message: ora-02084 database name is missing a component
Something went terrible wrong, but I don't know what.

Can't find preferences after migration

Just used Migration Assistant to move files from old Mini to MacBook. Appears to have transferred necessary apps, files, etc. But I can't find my preferences for key applications (firefox, address book, iphoto, email, etc.)
I was able to copy over my music from itunes. I had to select all of the files from the old hard drive folder, and then paste them into my iTunes window in order to get them to show up in the Library.
Now I really need to find my Address Book contacts, email folders, etc.
Any ideas?

connect up the old machine in Target Mode again, and from your users/Library, drag over the Mail folder, and AddressBook, and then, from the Preference folder, bring over the whole folder. Then restart.

Can't send emails after migration from Vista PC to W7 PC. Tried Mozbackup and Windows Easy Transfer. Settings have transferred ok, it just won't send emails.

I recently migrated my Tbird from a Vista PC to a W7 PC using Mozbackup. Transfer was fine with all the settings transferred apparently correctly. But now I can receive emails but not send them. Sent emails show in 'Sent Items' but are not received the other end. Also tried the migration using the Beta 1 version of Mozbackup and also Windows Easy Transfer with the same result. IMAP and POP3 accounts are both affected. Neither can send emails. I get no error messages nor any bounceback.
Found on one forum that AVG can block outgoing emails so altered the AVG settings which seemed to solve the problem. The next morning the problem was back. I uninstalled AVG completely but it made no difference. I do have MicroSoft Sec Essentials but the problem was there before that was installed.
Using the BT Home Hub 5 on BT Infinity broadband. It can't be the router though as the old PC was sending emails fine. Although I did have the suspect AVG settings, removing it has not solved the problem.
The outgoing email settings seem to be fine. Any thoughts?

Finder can't locate files after Migration Assistant

So I did Migration Assistant from my old 2008 Macbook to my latest Macbook Pro.
I had it so it's all under a new User Login which is the same as my 2008 User Login.
I always sign in to that User on the new Macbook Pro.
I know all my files are in there I just can't do a search on Finder. I type it in Finder but no result.
How do I fix this?

Double-Click the Users folder.
You should have a home folder for your first account that you set up during the setup assistant on the newer computer, and another for the home folder that was migrated.
Most of the information you transferred should be in there.

Can't find documents after migrating from PC

I've just tried to transfer everything from my PC to my Mac using the migration assistant. It said the job was completed, and showed the files transferring, but I can't find them on my Mac. Please can you help?

I assume you logged into the user, then looked in your Music, Pictures and Movie type folders right?
If not there, you might just have to transfer manually.
It's no big deal, you just need a external drive formatted FAT32 (aks FAT, MSDOS) on the Windows PC, transfer your files folders to it and then connect it to the Mac.
If you happened to have larger than 4GB sized files, you need to format the drive exFAT on Windows, if you have Windows XP you need to download exFAT from Microsoft and install that first before formatting the drive. Vista and Win 7 already has exFAT.
Mac's can read/write exFAT and FAT32 no problem, it's if you format the exteranl drive NTFS on Windows that the Mac can't write it.
Perhaps that's why your migration didn't go as expected, Microsoft may have slightly changed something and the Mac didn't read the NTFS drive and it's changes.
So go the FAT32/ exFAT with a external drive and just transfer the contents of your files into the same folders on the same named user on the Mac and most everything should work as expected.

New iMac, can't open safari after migration

Moved files from old iMac (2006) to new iMac (bought yesterday) that was running itunes music off of an external hard drive. Move seemed successful, and I re-attached external hard drive but Itunes would not open, saying itunes was a "newer version" than what was on new iMac already. Did software update and it did not finish the update, saying try again. Second time, it completed update, updating itunes and then the new iMac was able to read the external hard drive fine. I tested a few songs and itunes found them and played them fine, all artwork ok, etc.
So, then I tried to open Safari and it told me it could not run this version of Safari on the new iMac OSX. Tried the update software trick again, but it still will not open, same message. Under Safari preferences, it shows two default Safari versions, 5.0.4 i thinkg and 5.1.1 (i think) [I am at work now]. I can get around this and get to the internet fine by double clicking my Amazon MP3 icon, which asks if i want to quit and go to website to update, where i am then on amazon.com and have all my bookmarks etc listed on web browser just like before and it works fine...So how can i get icon or safari to open from dock or desktop? I have not tried to download new safari from apple website yet to see if that works to overwrite the others...Am i missing something simple? Can i just delete safari in applications and re-download it or should i run disk utility or ? Thanks for the help. jw

So how can i get icon or safari to open from dock or desktop?

The only way to reiinstall Safari on Lion v10.7 is to use Lion Recovery which will reinstall the Mac OS X.

i just bought an imac. i migrated everything over from my pc. it had me create a user name for a new account on my imac. when it was done i tried getting into my account and it asked for a new password. no matter what i try it wont take the new password. im locked out of my stuff from my other computer. what do i do or what am i doing wrong?

I have tried this.
When I removed the SharePoint datasource from Protection group there was no option to keep or lose data.
I ran ConfigureSharePoint -EnableSharePointProtection and ConfigureSharePoint -ResolveAllSQLAliases , then refreshed view in DPM console and added SharePoint back to protection group.
The modify protection group screen showed success. looking in Monitoring, I see Consistency check failed with this error "DPM cannot continue protection for SharePoint Farm Sharepoint Farm\sqpl2008srv1\SharePoint_Config on spwfe1.internal.ermanz.govt.nz.
(ID 30184)" this followed with Recovery point failing as well and description was same error (as above).
I then removed the datasource again and created a new Protection Group and added SharePoint, but got same result. When creating the PG, it did not format space or do initial copy and CC's and RP's failed as before.
When DB's were moved to another SQL Server, SharePoint retained the same SQL name as before (uses aliases)
