Can't download itunes on new computer

I had itunes 11.1 and downloaded the update 11.2 a few weeks ago.
When I tried to open itunes today I got a notification that I had to uninstall and reinstall it.
I tried that several times but can't find the exe file. When I did a serve I found one and it went through the download.
NOW when I try to open itunes I get a notification that the library can't be read because it was set up with a newer version. This indicates that the exe file I found was left over from my very first download on this new computer.
I deleted everything I could find on the computer that had to do with apple but I still can't complete the download of 11.2
I have closed the computer entirely and rebooted but still can't complete the download.
I want to transfer my music from my iphone 5 to this new computer and I'm really frustrated.

You may have some previous iTunes software still on your computer that would be preventing you from installing or launching the new version of iTunes. Here is an article that will help you completely uninstall iTunes and all related components:

It is still on your old computer.
Did you copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to new computer?

I have so many questions. Normally I use iTunes on my work PC, but I got a new home PC, downloaded iTunes, logged in with Apple ID, yet I don't see any of the music showing up from my Cloud. And when I plug my phone in, I'm unable to add/delete some files that I had manually added at work. The articles below may help you with this. You can only sync your iPhone to one iTunes Library, so you will have to decide which computer to use. I would suggest following the steps in the article below to backup your iTunes library to an external drive to copy it to your new computer at home.

Can I download iTunes on one computer and then install/update it on another

Hi. My home computer (where I use iTunes) is connected to Satellite Internet, which limits my daily bandwidth. This means I can't download large update files (like iTunes) unless I do it during the middle of the night.
So, is it possible to download iTunes on my office PC, burn the file to CD, copy it to my home computer, and then run it to install the update?
I want to be sure it will simply UPDATE iTunes versus doing a clean install where I'd lose all my songs/settings/etc. My fear is that the version I download on my office PC would be a full install, whereas the version I would download through iTunes Update would be an different "update version."

I was about to post the *same exact* question. I cannot connect to the internet, but I need to update iTunes to use my new iPod. I have downloaded the iTunes 8 install, and uploaded it into my computer. However, I want to make sure it UPDATES iTunes, versus a clean install.
I have a question regarding Niel's answer: you say the library and settings will remain the same: will I lose my PLAYLISTS from my iTunes 7?? I am worried about losing my songs, but I also REALLY don't want to have to rebuild all of my playlists from scratch~!

I have a new computer now the first thing i wanted to do was get itunes! 5 attempts windows kept blocking it because it can not verify the signature, so i went to the disscusions page and did the following turned off all my security tried again nothin! Followed certain links for the downloads..same reply! Even disabled my activex etc that windows says to do in their help pages still the same reply! Then i saved instead of run but still ''can not verify signature'' why can't i download something as simple as itunes ive never had a problem on my old computer. Is it becasue of vista?

ok i can past the verifyng signature by going into tools then internet options,
then advanced tab scroll down to security and i unchecked all the box's apply this and you'll be able to download it. But it keeps saying now my system is not modified and stops installing!

I have an older ipod touch. Just downloaded itunes onto a new computer I had not used with the ipod yet. Itunes downloaded fine, I purchased some new songs, but then couldn't get those songs to sync onto my ipod. I finally got the new songs onto the ipod, but then it erased all of my previously purchased songs. All of the songs are still in the libaray in itunes on the computer, but I can not figure out how to get them ALL onto the ipod. Ideas?

You can only sync with one iTunes library. If you sync with another library your iPod will be erased and the media replaced with what is in the library of the second computer/library.
Try following thes instrctions:

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and a Control+B to show the Menu bar

I have a new computer and downloaded itunes and when I tried to sync not all my purchases to my ipod transferred to my computer. How can I get these back into my library?

What you should have done was review something like the user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device before syncing with a new computer. Depending on your region you may well be able to download your past iTunes purchases from the store, however you have lost the chance to recover other content. Links in the tip.

Recently i upgraded my laptop from a G4 to a Pro.
I'm trying to re-download my old purchases from itunes, i've authorised the new computer and even then when i select 'store>check for avalible downloads' nothing happens.

If you still have the old computer, move the iTunes folder in the Music item of the Finder's sidebar to it, either through a network, external drive, or CDs and DVDs, or the Transfer Purchases command if they're on an iPod or iPhone. I got a new computer and I downloaded the newest version of Itunes and when I connect my Iphone to synch, it will only synch to the computer the items I bought from Itunes and will not synch the items I downloaded and didn't purchase through Itunes. How do you synch everything from your Iphone to the the new computer with the newly dowloaded Itunes?
