Can't edit address in attributes

I’m trying to use ssh tunneling to forward a port. I’ve successfully forwarded 5900 to e.g. 5910 and tried to edit the address in the attribute panel to something like 127.0.0.1:5910.
When I click Done it keeps the 127.0.0.1 and ignores the :5910 part. Is there a particular reason this happens?

I just followed the steps listed in ARD help:
1) Open an ssh connection to a remote computer to port forward the port:
ssh -L 5910:remoteserver.apple.com:5900 -f -N [email protected]
2) Enter the password as you would in a typical ssh connection.
3) Open Remote Desktop and add 127.0.0.1 to the list with the name and password of the remote machine. Add to the list without verifying the password.
4) Get Info on the computer you added and click the Edit button.
5) *Add the port number from step 1 (in this example, 5910). Be sure to add a colon between the IP Address and the port number, such as "127.0.0.1:5910”.*
6) Click Done. When you control or observe the "127.0.0.1" machine, you will be accessing the remote computer.
It is actually step 5 that doesn’t work. When I enter 127.0.0.1:5910 it ignores the :5910 part. I guess it doesn’t recognise it as a valid IP, which is kind if annoying...

How can I edit address labels from my address book to add spouse name?

Address book supports Spouse/partner/friend name but the label printing function of address book does not seem to and I can't see how to save a version that I can edit to manually add the missing partners. It only seems to allow me to print it as it is. What can I do? I also just bought Pages in the hopes of helping print christmas letter address labels but haven't figured it out yet

Warren: looking at other threads out there it doesn't appear that you can print the spouse/partner/friend field. One poster suggested using Avery DesignPro for Mac, which merges with your AddressBook, and allows you to select which fields to include. The only caveat is that it doesn't show it working with Lion (os 10.7). You can download it here:

Can't edit address book in OSX 10.7

I'm unable to edit any cards in Address book. The edit optino is greyed out in the Menu bar. Why is this? I have the same problem on my Laptop and Mac Pro. I'm using MobileMe . Is this something to do with it ?

Now I could delete the Addressbook-v22.abcdmr file. I did this, re-opened my address book app (the Addressbook-v22.abcdmr file returns) and Presto! ... so has my Edit button at the bottom of the Address Book app ... it's taken my a few hours over a few months to get that sorted ... now, back to my life.

Can't edit contacts in address book under Lion

Instead of the "Edit" and "Share" buttons that normally appear at the bottom of my listed contacts, I only have "Add Contact" and "Share." What gives? Why can't I edit any of my contacts?

Hey - I just found a post on another thread which cured my problem (same as yours). Here are the details.
If you just upgraded to Lion, you get 90 days of complimentary support, so don't be bashful. Call 'em. I called Apple support and they resolved this specific issue. We first verified that a newly created Admin account could create and edit Address Book. When it did, we rightly assumed corruption in the Address Book Library files.
Here are the steps from that point.
Back up your Address Book: From Address Book, choose File > Export and choose Export vCard to a desitnation of your choosing.
Close Address Book.
From the Desktop, Hold Option and click Go in the menu at the top of the screen.
Choose Library. If this is not an option, you are not pressing the Option key or you are not an Admin.
Expand the Application Support folder and drag the AddressBook folder to the Trash. Close window.
Open Address Book and import your address book vCard.
PS: mine was nothing to do with permissions. . . .

Since I moved to iCloud I can't Edit or Delete Address Book Contacts using my MacBook Pro

Is not funny at all, everything was fine using Mobile Me but since I switch to iCloud I can't Edit or Delete my Address Book Contacts using my MacBook Pro or my MacPro.
In my MacBook Pro, i open Address Book and on the left I have te list of all contacts, on the right the selected contact informations, below I only have "Add Contact" or "Share", my friend have "Edit" instead of "Add Contact".
If I click on "Add Contact" this is the result:
Are you sure you want to import 1 card? 1 card is a duplicate and will be updated.
Everything fine using my iPhone or the website.

Please note that iCloud is geared towards being an instantaneous (and in some cases temporary) parking place for various things with iDevices; the access and useability from a computer is more difficult and, for most things, has to be done via the website icloud.com.

Can't edit email address

If I forward an email, or reply to all I can't edit the address. If one is incorrect and the email bounces there seems to be no way to edit the address. Am I missing something obvious?

Not quite. I just want to correct an incorrect email address. I had multiple addresses separated with commas but left out one comma. The two addresses were read as one incorrect address and I wanted to simply resend the message but could not add the missing comma.

The idea of a Recovery email is so the rightful owner accomplishes the recovery, so I don't know of a process to edit that address if you don't know the Apple ID and associated Password.

I have a few accounts and the email address domain of my work account has changed but it seems to be one of the fields you cannot change.
On my iPhone it was simple ... you can just edit the field and it works.
My Email comes in fine but mail auto selects accounts based on the domain of who you are emailing and now that it has changed its not doing that anymore.

If you're running iOS 6, to change your iCloud ID go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. There are no security on this file. The only thing that is not allowed is to create templates. When I check the document properties description, on the PDF producer it says adobe distiller 7.0.5 (windows)

Ok, what we can tell you is that if this is a LiveCycle form (and we can be pretty sure it is), that you are absolutely right. Acrobat can fill it, and nothing else. These are a very special kind of PDF, where all the text is in a special XML format that Acrobat can only show, not edit.
So, you are on the right track: if it can be edited, you need LiveCycle Designer. Unfortunately, we don't know much about it in this forum, so please try posting here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/livecycle/livecycle_modules_and_development_tools/livecy cle_designer_es

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, this is done often. You will need to create a Mask of that person, to separate them from the background of the original Image.
I like to do this with a Layer Mask, as it offers control, and really does not alter the Image, so you can go back and make changes.
Let's say that you have Image 01 w/ the head of your subject, and want to place it into Image 02. In Image 01, make a rough Selection. I would include a bit of extra background, as we will take care of that in a moment. With that Selection active, Copy the head shot. Go to Image 02, and Paste it. It will Paste in its own Layer. Ctrl+T (Free Transform) can be used to Scale and also position that Layer with the head. Once you have that Scaled and positioned about where you want it, create a Layer Mask. In QuickMask Mode, just paint in the additional Mask to remove all traces of the background that came in with the head shot. As you can paint OUT, and also paint IN the Mask, you can work on this, as many times as you wish - even next year.
