Motion tween to continue once mouse off ???

hi all , i have a movie clip that occurs when a button is
moused over - when you mouse off the mc stops in mid flow if it
hasnt already finished itself. is there a piece of code perhaps
that will allow the mc to continue and finish even if the button is
moused off ?
regards
bwclan

cheers nickels. have kinda solved it now - had the mc on the
over state in the button rather than on the timeline .. works now !
taaaa
although would be interesting if there was some code that
made a button inactive until the mc that has been triggered by
mouseover has finished !!! i have the button now activating the mc
on the main timeline so that when you mouse off the mc continues to
playout but if you then mouse back over the button whilst the mc is
still playing then it stops that mc and starts a new one !! ahhh
well ...

  • Simple Motion Tween to play once

    Can someone tell me how to go about playing a simple graphic
    that has been tweened to fade in and out once. I have tried by
    unmarking the loop option (play once) in the properties and it
    keeps looping and flying in from the upper left corner. I have even
    tried changing the sync to stop and repeat 0. I need for the
    wording to fade from out to in and the just stay there (not
    repeat). I am new to flash and this is due tomorrow (today). I
    thought this would be easy and I for some reason, I am having a
    hard time.
    Thanking all in advance!

    Hi,
    Select the last frame in your animation, open your actions
    panel (F9) and type stop();
    this should do it.
    Hope this helps

  • Free Transform breaks Motion Tweens

    Sigh! Normally I try to solve problems myself... but Google isn't giving me anything about this so maybe I'm the only one in the world experiencing this particular issue.
    I've used Flash for making games for years now, and I got used to using the old motion tweens for making looping animations for characters. I made the leap from AS2 to AS3 a while ago, and felt like I should try to use these new motion tweens as well since I got CS5...
    I've found them completely unusable, however, due to a bizarre problem that happens when moving around objects using the Free Transform tool.
    For a single character, I'll have a MovieClip with several layers, each with a 'body part' MovieClip on it, then I add the new blue-type motion tweens to all of those layers. At the end of those tweens, I use F6 to (hopefully) duplicate the starting pose; it is meant to loop, after all. Then I'll go about half way between these two keyframes and move bits around to create the A->B->A sort of 'idle' or 'breathing' animation.
    The Free Transform seems dodgy though. If I select all the 'limbs' of a character at once and try to rotate them as a group, it works, but they each end up displaced a bit when I release the mouse; they get offset slightly or rotate a bit in seemingly random directions.
    For example, compare these two images (it's easiest if they're opened in separate tabs, I suppose): http://scraps.fighunter.com/sparkpupagh1.png and http://scraps.fighunter.com/sparkpupagh2.png
    The first one is after rotating it but before I released the mouse button, the second is what the pieces ended up like after I released the button. Most of the pieces ended up where they should be, but the head was offset slightly. This is a mild case; it's usually worse and affects all the pieces, and the slight offsets and rotations build up, too.
    This in itself wouldn't be too bad - though it's frustratingly inaccurate - but it gets much, much worse the more I work on a single animation.
    (Note: These strange changes don't happen if I rotate all the parts as a group if they're not also contained within new motion tweens...)
    Here's a screenshot showing a frame mid-way through an animation, with one of the parts selected: http://scraps.fighunter.com/meepagh1.png
    The Motion Editor is shown, though I don't use that directly.
    With that feather bit selected, I then rotated it a tiny, tiny amount, but didn't *move* it at all. When I released the mouse, it ended up snapping suddenly to here: http://scraps.fighunter.com/meepagh2.png
    That'd be frustrating in itself, but as you can see from the Motion Editor, it's also messed up most of the other frames in the animation, somehow. This becomes unbearable, as you can likely imagine!
    If I edit the graph in the Motion Editor directly to alter the Z value and cause a rotation, it works, without problems... but this is horribly inefficient and unintuitive and not a solution. I can't animate by tweaking numbers. It's like trying to draw a portrait using an Etch-A-Sketch!
    It seems to only be the Free Transform tool that creates this bizarre problem.
    This has been happening since I got CS5 maybe a year or two ago, though I haven't actually had to use the animation tools much until a few days ago so that's why I'm bringing it up now. I've restarted Flash, my computer, etc, etc, many times; I also got the trial version of CS6 today to see if THAT would fix it, but the exact same thing happens in that version too.
    I'm wondering whether it's my computer's fault in some way... I don't know enough about hardware and 'specs' and that sort of stuff to describe anything about it, but I'm using Windows Vista and the computer is fairly old and not exactly what I'd call reliable. I'm planning to get a new one soon, so it'd be nice if that fixed this problem... but frustrating if it doesn't.
    I'll link to the CS6-flavoured .fla that those screenshots are from: http://scraps.fighunter.com/Meep.fla
    I'd very much appreciate it if someone could test this to see if it's happening to only me! If I go to frame 146 (to choose one at random), and try to rotate the foot, slightly, using the Free Transform tool, it breaks in the way that I've described. (Oddly, the head feather rotates without issues on that frame...) If you were to try to do this same thing and it *doesn't* break, it might be a good sign that it's my computer's fault!
    If it *does* break though... then I'd very much appreciate any help I can get from someone who understands the new motion tweens better than I do!
    It'd be a shame to have to go back to Classic Tweens because of this...

  • Combine multiple animations/moving a motion tween path location

    I have three similar animations that are stalling on preload as it's referencing the data from dropbox. We thought that it might be faster if it loaded only once, so I am now trying to combine the animations into a single scene. I'm having trouble copying and pasting the animation. I'm not quite sure where the problem originates from. I did, originally, successfully reproduce the animation and apply it to the separate elements when making them on separate stages, but now I see one of the elements (I'll call it GREEN) has a motion tween, and I'm not sure why the others (ORANGE and BLUE) are set to X, Y motion. I specifically recall having created them via motion tween, but at least they are still moving the way I created them to.
    When I copy and paste > All, GREEN (with its motion tween) is placed on the stage at X=45 coordinate, and i need the whole path to be moved over to X=643. When I drag, it only affects the current location, plus there are a couple of "points" on the line that don't have keyframes associated with them, so it has been nerving to try and set them this way. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks

    No problem!
    So do you notice how your blueballoonCopy has those chevron marks on the timeline? That's an indication of duration in a container such as a symbol or audio element. In your case, it's a total 30 sec. of transitions, and it's a symbol. When you want to loop things differently, they should be in their own timelines, i.e. in their own symbols.
    You should do two things to get this set up:
    Convert blueballoonCopy and GREEN_KIDS_BALLOONCopy3 into a single symbol, since they will both loop endlessly from the loopGrn label to the end. Put the playhead over the loopGrn label, then select it and the trigger at the end and cut them (Edit > Cut), and then double-click on the symbol on Stage to edit it and with the playhead at the same place, paste the label and trigger. You should now have the label at 26 sec., and the trigger at the end of the timeline. Navigate back to the Stage timeline, and these two elements will now loop endlessly in the brower.
    Now convert your orange_balloon element into a symbol - that will put all of its animation inside the symbol. If you want the entire animation loop twice, add a single play action to the end of the chevron (duration indicator). If you want only a part of it to loop, use a single play from action instead, and enter the timecode or label to which you want to loop back.
    And now you'll have those two elements looping continuously, and the orange_balloon symbol looping just once.

  • Poor quality motion tween with png image, tried "Trace Bitmap", but then it looks like a newspaper

    Greetings all,
    I've been a software developer for many years, but am not very savy in the design elements.  So, much of what I'm going to say will probably sound "newbie", so please forgive me in advance.
    So, I'm trying to get a transparent image to fly in from the side.  So, I *thought* I was doing the correct thing by moving the "symbol" off of the visible portion of the stage, and creating a motion tween to move it onto the stage.  The motion works, but the quality of the image in general (and the text in specific) looks pixelated.
    Thus, I did a little bit of snooping, and everyone said that you should start with a bitmap.  So I saved the image from Photoshop into .bmp format, and was able to set the properties to "allow smoothing" and with lossless compression.  So far, so good.  Now, as I expected, the transparency is no longer there...
    So here's the question:  how can I make this image retain its quality, still have transparency, and a motion tween?
    It seems like this is some set of characteristics that don't play well together, even though I see this type of thing online ALL the time.
    I tried "Trace Bitmap" to convert to a raster image, and tried to follow some suggestions online, but when I do "Trace Bitmap", it ends up looking like it has a bunch of grayish dots on the image... definitely NOT what I was expecting.
    Thanks for your help!
    JPB

    Go back to using the png, and set the smoothing allowance. That should take care of the quality.  In Flash, a "bitmap" will often refer to any type of image element... .bmp's are probably dinosaurs (as in extinct) where Flash usage is concerned.

  • Motion Tween grayed out

    I'm doing a project for class and I'm not terribly savvy with Flash, so please bear with me as I try to give you the information I hope you'll need to help me out.  I am using Flash CS5.
    I am doing a kinetic typography project. I need letters to move along a path I drew with the pen tool.  I drew the path.  I have the letter.  I converted the letter to a symbol.  I created a guide layer and my pen tool path is on it.  I click on the layer with the letter and the letter is just off the stage.  I have 30 frames created and one initial keyframe in the first frame of the timeline.
    When I right-click on the letter, Create Motion Tween is grayed out.  When I right click on the layer containing the letter, the Create Motion Tween is grayed out.  When I add another keyframe to the end (frame 30 in this case) and try to right-click, it's still grayed out.  I've tried clicking on the guide, the letter, recreating the symbol... What am I missing?

    You're welcome.  One problem with the new tweening (hearsay on my part) is that they are not intuitive to use.  With the classic tween it is a straightforward matter of start frame, end frame, and done, and it serves most purposes folks have for timeline-based tweening.
    It is possible the approach you took is not the way to go when creating motion paths for the new tweens.  Here's a link to a video that demos using the new tween with a motion path.  It appears the path is not done the same way you attempted if you have the path on a separate layer...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-BIlFiy_DY
    So it is looking more like the grayed out options were correct.
    I would hope that if you showed your instructor the problem you were having you wouldn't get any disfavor shown for your solution, especially if you were taught to do what you were trying to do... and it might even teach your instructor something.

  • Motion Tween querry?

    Hi,
    I have 10 objects in 10 layers to make a single logo. I have created them using flash drawing objects. Now I would like each object to come one by one on stage using motion tween. How can I go further?
    Do I need to make each object a movie clip before set it motion tween? Or do I need to make a single movie with all 10 objects as combined? Please note that I need each object to come on stage one by one (not a whole logo on once). Please provide help or any example tutorial link.
    Thanks.

    Create each object as a movieclip.  If you plan to use the the timeline to tween them onto the stage, then you should be all set to configure that as long as you are faqmiliar with timeline tweening.  If you plan to use actionscript code, then you'll need to learn about using the Tween class and listeners or timers to be able to have things tween seuqnecially.

  • How to move a keyframe from a Motion Tween in Flash CS4

    I understand that motion tween is a new form of tween in CS 4 however  I am unable to move a keyframe within the time line? am I missing something? I would hope I could select the keyframe (diamond  shape) and move it around the timeline but apprently Im missing something.. I am not able to do a cut and copy either... is this normal behavior?
    thanks

    Thank you so much for getting back to me so quick. Work is chaotic right now or I would have replied sooner.
    Anyway, my lines aren't actually 3D at all. Everything, including the box, are 2D. But that does give me an idea, once I'm more proficient in Flash if I decide to make this animation even better in the future.
    I attached a screenshot of my homepage. You'll see a set of lines on the left side that surround a square with Sarah Knouse LeCroy inside. (That square is what I was referring to as a 'box'...probably not a good description.) I want that square to move down to the bottom left corner when you click on Portfolio, Contact or Resume. As it moves, I want the lines to collapse and fold together so that it looks like they're all neatly getting 'packed away' so that all that's left when viewing, say Portfolio, is an empty page with the square down in the lower left corner.
    What is the best way to animate those lines in CS4? Most of the lines do not need to stay connected to the square as it's moving so I think I can just do a Classic tween for those. But the 3 diagonal ones DO need to stay connected to the box as it's moving. I was doing a motion tween and rotating/elongating each line in sections but they still didn't match up exactly in some places during the move. When I would try to go back and adjust a position I had set, it would just pop right back to the original position.
    The last problem I'm having is an issue with getting this animation to play only when you leave the homepage and click to Portfolio, Contact or Resume.
    But don't want to overwhelm so just answer what you have time for! Later, I could attach my main timeline so that you could see what I already have set up.
    Thanks so much!

  • Motion tween using actionscript

    I'm pretty sure there has to be a way to do this. I want an
    object to move to certain coordinates when certain objects are
    moused over. Any help?

    Bryan,
    > Thank you so muck...honestly. I hate to ask for more
    help,
    > but i need to ask ONE more thing.
    's okay. :)
    > I got the movement working but the thing i need now is
    for
    > the puck to stay under the button when i mouse off.
    Well ... okay, I looked at your code. Honestly, bro, it's a
    complete
    hodge-podge of new and old style coding. I know it's because
    you're on
    unfamiliar territory, and I'm not slammin' ya ... but really
    -- really,
    really, really -- your life will be soooo much easier if you
    step back and
    look at the big picture. Sooner or later, this will all gel
    for you, and it
    suddenly becomes very easy.
    Forget that tellTarget() business. That's old; like, Flash 3
    old. In
    fact, it was deprecated in Flash 5. If you want to path to an
    object, you
    use its instance name. Of course, first, that means you need
    to give your
    relevant assets instance names. You've already done with with
    the revolving
    "police" lights -- but make sure you're consistent. Name them
    light1,
    light2, light3, and so on (yours were a bit dissheveled).
    An instance name is just a "handle" that lets ActionScript
    "talk" to a
    given object. That light exists as a single movie clip symbol
    in your
    Library, but you want to talk to each one individually, so
    each one gets its
    own instance name.
    Do the same thing with your "net" instance (the tab/button
    movie clips).
    Rather than this ...
    tellTarget(this._parent.light4) {
    gotoandplay(this._currentframe+70);
    ... just refer to objects by instance name.
    light1.gotoAndPlay();
    Much cleaner code. Now, this isn't relevant in your case,
    but if that
    "light" symbol had another movie clip inside it, you could
    give *that*
    symbol an instance name, too. For example, you might name the
    bulb "bulb".
    If you needed to instruct that bulb movie clip, you could
    react it inside
    each instance of light like this ...
    light1.bulb.gotoAndPlay();
    light2.bulb.gotoAndPlay();
    // etc.
    It's just like folders and subfolders on your hard drive.
    Next, you've GOT to make sure you use the correct case.
    gotoandplay
    doesn't exist in ActionScript, but gotoAndPlay does.
    Thankfully, the
    ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference is only a click away, and
    besides,
    script code changes color to indicate when you've spelled
    something
    correctly.
    Next, while it's perfectly legal to use the on() event
    handler, it's
    also pretty old. It was deprecated as of Flash MX (aka Flash
    6), so use the
    approach I showed you in previous posts. Just use the clip's
    instance name
    and assign a function to its event.
    You want those instances of "net" to respond to mouse
    events. I gave
    each movie clip an instance name ... mcHome, mcCalendar,
    mcRecord, and so
    on.
    This allows you to neatly put all your code into frame 1 of
    the main
    timeline. No more hunting and pecking, having to click on
    each movie clip
    separately, etc.
    mcHome.onRollOver = function() {
    // instructions here
    That also means you don't have to keep repeating the import
    statements
    for each button. It's just much cleaner and more efficient.
    Give yourself
    a Scripts layer dedicated to scripts only, and put all your
    code there.
    Just remove all the on() stuff.
    Now here's the part that should make a halogen bulb go BOOM
    in your
    head. I'll repeat what you were asking:
    > I got the movement working but the thing i need now is
    for
    > the puck to stay under the button when i mouse off.
    Okay. That means you want the puck not to start from its
    original
    position every time. (In your Tween instantiation, you were
    always starting
    from 66.3 -- which of course means that's where the puck will
    start from
    every time.) So, how are you going to know where the puck is?
    Well, the puck is a movie clip -- so look up the MovieClip
    class. The
    MovieClip class lists a bunch of properties, which refer to
    characteristics
    of the object at hand. In other words, the MovieClip class
    TELLS YOU what
    properties are available to any movie clip out there --
    because classes
    define objects, and this is a movie clip object.
    So if you need to know where the puck is horizontally, look
    up its
    MovieClip._x property. Badda bing.
    mcHome.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 58, .5,
    true);
    light1.gotoAndPlay(2);
    That puts the current _x value of the puck instance as the
    fourth
    parameter of that Tween constructor. Make sense? Here's
    working code for
    your Flash banner ...
    import mx.transitions.Tween;
    import mx.transitions.easing.*;
    mcHome.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 58, .5,
    true);
    light1.gotoAndPlay(2);
    mcHome.onRollOut = function() {
    light1.gotoAndPlay(this._currentframe + 70);
    mcHome.onRelease = function() {
    getURL("site.php?page=press&links=home");
    mcCalendar.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 215, .5,
    true);
    light2.gotoAndPlay(2);
    mcCalendar.onRollOut = function() {
    light2.gotoAndPlay(this._currentframe + 70);
    mcCalendar.onRelease = function() {
    getURL("site.php?page=press&links=home");
    mcRecord.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 373, .5,
    true);
    light3.gotoAndPlay(2);
    mcRecord.onRollOut = function() {
    light3.gotoAndPlay(this._currentframe + 70);
    mcRecord.onRelease = function() {
    getURL("site.php?page=press&links=home");
    mcTitans.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 533, .5,
    true);
    light4.gotoAndPlay(2);
    mcTitans.onRollOut = function() {
    light4.gotoAndPlay(this._currentframe + 70);
    mcTitans.onRelease = function() {
    getURL("site.php?page=press&links=home");
    mcPressBox.onRollOver = function() {
    new Tween(puck, "_x", Elastic.easeOut, puck._x, 688, .5,
    true);
    light5.gotoAndPlay(2);
    mcPressBox.onRollOut = function() {
    light5.gotoAndPlay(this._currentframe + 70);
    mcPressBox.onRelease = function() {
    getURL("site.php?page=press&links=home");
    ... keeping in mind, of course, that each instance of the
    "net" movie clip
    needs the relevant instance name, and that each instance of
    the "light"
    movie clip should be named as shown from left to right. NO
    CODE exists as
    attached to any movie clips. It's all in frame 1 of a new
    layer named,
    arbitrarily, scripts. The correct case is in use --
    Elastic.easeOut, rather
    than elastic.easeOut (or easeIn, whatever you prefer). And
    make sure to
    correc the getURL() parameter as needed.

  • Motion Tween Can't Be Broken Up?

    I have an object with 500 Frames.  I gave it a Motion Tween.  Now I want to cut it down to 100 frames, without changing the Tween duration.  Usually you can insert a blank keyframe, or remove the last 400 frames on that layer.  But since it's a Motion Tween you cannot?
    WTH is going on with Flash's timeline editor, this is ridiculously unintuitive.

    If your using CS5... this is how you do it.
    On a PC-
    Control click on the frame you want the tween to end.... frame 100
    From the drop down select "Split Motion". This will inset a key frame.
    Next... hit delete... that will delete all the frames from 101 and beyond.
    To clean it up... right mouse button click and select" Remove Tween".
    I hope this helps.

  • Motion tween question in cs5

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create an animated movie clip button in AS2 using CS5. The button should fade in/out as the mouse moves over and away from the button.
    Lets say my frame rate is 30 FPS. When  I insert a motion tween on frame 1, the timeline is automatically extended by 30 frames. I then select frame 30, select the button and change the alpha value to 30%. When I drag the head marker back and forth, the button fades in and out smoothly exactly as I wanted.
    But I want to create a motion tween between frame 1 and 10. So I select frame 10, insert a keyframe, select frame 5 and insert a motion tween. Then I select frame 10, select the button and change the alpha value to 30% like before. When I drag the head marker, there is no fade in/out. When the head marker is exactly over frame 10, the button is faded, but when it is on any frame between 1 and 9, it is normal.
    How do I fix this problem?
    thanks for your help

    If I'm following correctly, you are trying to tween between two keyframes instead of within a single tween span. If you want to create a tween between frames 1 and 10, insert a keyframe on frame 1, and then insert frames to frame 10 instead of creating a keyframe (press F5 on frame 10). Then right-click one of the frames or the object and choose Create Motion Tween. Then move the playhead to frame 10 and change the alpha.
    Hope that helps.

  • Problem with motion tweening in Flash CS4

    Hi !
    I tried to refresh my little flash knowledge -- but I stumbled upon a problem with the new Flash CS4!
    When I try to make different blur or alpha effect on one keyframe I got after making the motion tween -- Flash adjust the other keyframe as well (got the same reaction on both keyframes as if it was the same instance of movie clip -- and not as in old flash; the keyframes created separated or independent instances)
    The only thing working for me is when I move the movie clip out of the stage on the first keyframe -- and it correctly move its position.
    What's wrong?
    Kind Regards
    Maria Olsen

    Hello Maria,
    You sort of answered your own question:)
    "got the same reaction on both keyframes as if it was the same instance of movie clip"
    That is exactly right and is the proper way of looking at new motion tweens. It is one instance of the movieclip for the duration of the tween. It takes awhile to get used to this.
    New motion tweens allow you to set up a a very simple tween initially without keyframing ending values / position. Once you start making changes after the tween is set, you are going to have to get familiar with adding "property keyframes". Property keyframes are displayed with those little diamond icons in the timeline. Poperty keyframes allow you to "lock in" certain specific properties at key points in your animation without affecting other properties. With the old classic keyframes, a keyframe placed mid-tween would create a whole new instance of a symbol with all properties (rotation, scale, alpha etc) set in stone for that point in time. The benefit was that you could easily have all properties tween TO and FROM that keyframe if that's what you wanted. Now you can make adjustments to a symbol mid-tween and only specifically adjust a single property. So you can adjust the alpha of an object mid-tween without interrupting say a rotation that you wanted to happen all the way through.
    If you simply want an object to move left to right and then you decide it should fade in
    CLASSIC TWEEN
    -place symbol on frame 1
    -keyframe frame 10
    -in frame 10 move the symbol to the right
    -add classice tween
    Ok, that works, now add alpha fade in
    -go back to frame 1 and set alpha to 0
    -classice tween automatically adjusts alpha from 0 in frame 1 to 100 in frame 10.
    -done
    MOTION TWEEN
    -place symbol on stage
    -create motion tween
    -playhead jumps to last frame
    -move symbol to the right (no need to f6 / keyframe)
         Flash automatically adds something called a "position" keyframe (notice the little black diamond)
    Ok, that works, now add alpha fade in
    -go to frame 1 and set alpha to 0
    -test movie
    -oops - wrong. As you noted the alpha will stay at 0 throughout the whole tween.
    -you need to additionally go to the last frame and set the alpha back to 100
         -this will automtically create a "color" property keyframe on the last frame
    When just doing this now I noticed something odd as well
    As soon as I do the position change and move the symbol to the right, if I try to add the "color keyframe" on the last frame of the tween, I am not allowed to do so. "color" and "filter" are greyed out. I would prefer to lock the alpha at 100 in the last frame while the playhead is in position before setting it down to 0 in frame 1. Oh well.
    Seems you are forced to
    -go back to the beginning of the tween
    -adjust the alpha
    -then go to the end and manually bring the alpha back up.
    hmm maybe i'm missing something too:)
    the best way to do this would be to have the foresight ahead of time to do the alpha
    -place the symbol
    -alpha 0
    -add motion tween
    -in last frame move the symbol  set alpha to 100 (alpha and position keyframes are automatically set)
    So if you do it right the first time, its easy. If not, well.
    Keep in mind an object will maintain the properties it has set in frame 1 unless a subsequent property keyframe enforces some adjustment.
    If you have have an object that is moving from point a to b to c to d:
    If you alter the alpha at point b, the alpha will tween from point a to b, but will maintain the new alpha to c, to d.
    If you scale the clip by 200% at point, its scale will tween from point a all the way to point d, NOT just from c to d
    To scale from point c to d only, set a "scale" property keyframe at point c (this will lock the objects scale at 100) THEN scale to 200% at point d
    It takes a good deal of practice. I found the hard way that you just can't "wing" it. It isn't very intuitive coming from a classic tween approach.
    These articles really helped me:

    Take note of the tips on "cntr-clicking" frames and "shift-dragging". You have to really get used to a few keyboard modifiers when editing the timeline.
    Stick around the forums. A lot of good info comes through daily.

  • Trouble with Motion Tween (Can't find answer)

        Hello,
    I've been having trouble using a motion tween in an animation I'm creating. I have an object (a cartoon character's talking head) that I'm trying to move along a motion tween. At one point I want to make him stop moving for a beat, then continue. However, when I have two keyframes in the same place, the object will move up and down between the two keyframes that have the same position and rotation. When I click on the tween's path, I don't see anything that would make the object move (at least I don't think so, it's a small movement),
    I looked around and couldn't find any fixes on the interwebs. However, it does seem similar to the "boomerang effect" of motion paths in AE. Especially since it appears to only happen when I make the motion paths into a curve.
    I'm using Flash CS4.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    i'm not arguing with you.  i'm just telling you how to prevent tweening between two frames.
    if you want to do it your way, do it your way.  but, while it may seem obvious to you that there should be no tweening between two keyfames with identical content, it's not obvious to flash especially when you add a motion tween between those two identical keyframes.
    that said, you should double check the two keyframes and make sure the object's properties are indentical (using the properties panel).

  • How are we supposed to work with the new motion tweens if there's no motion editor anymore?

    How are we supposed to work with the new motion tweens if there's no motion editor anymore? Without motion editor we can't see what kind of keyframes are set and we can't set any accelerations anywhere. Does Adobe now want us to go back and use the old motion tweens?

    Hi All,
    Flash Pro CC 2014 (v 14.0.0.110) is now available for download via the Creative Cloud App.
    We have included an all new Motion Editor along with several other new features with this release of Flash Pro. The new Motion Editor is completely redesigned, intuitive and easy to use while preserving the core functionalities and backward compatibility with Flash CS6
    To Invoke the Motion Editor, simply Double-Click on your Motion Tween span on Timeline (or Right-Click and select 'Refine Motion') and the Motion Editor opens up in-context in the Timeline itself. Double-Click again to collapse once you have made your adjustments.
