Can't Expand Database Fields for Query

I am having a problem creating a Crystal Report based on a BEx query. I use the SAP menu to Create New Report from Query using the MDX driver but I am not able to expand the Database Fields so that I can select them and add them to the report. I'm able to create a report with a similiar BEx query with no problems. Any suggestions?

If your purpose is to simply point to a different database (but otherwise want the exact same report), don't bother going through the database expert. When you run the report, it should ask for the database logon credentials. Just change the database as well as the user id and password. In Crystal Enterprise (or BOE), this change can be made permanent through the CMC.

Hi, This is late response i know, but maybe someone else is looking for same and needs code for same. Please keep in mind that you also need to check if users have done LT0G return from GI are back to picking bin. In this case you need minus the TO from total picking qty.

10g Locks Up when selecting database field for optimistic locking

As the subject says, when I attempt to select the database field for optimistic locking, JDeveloper locks up and I have to kill it with the task manager.
Should I post problems with TopLink in 10g in this forum or the TopLink forum?

Irrelevant id's under 'Database Fields' for BW query

Hi all,
I am new to Crystal reports and have a problem.
I installed Crystal Reports 2008 and as integration kit (with BW), i installed 3.1 version.
I am trying to connect a bw query to the Crystal Reports.
Now i can connect a bw query, but in 'Fields Explorer' under 'Database Fields' i can not see proper names. I have already selected 'show description ' setting.
There are items like, Cube creation time, cube type, data update time etc.. and for key figures, there are lots of items that starts with M~[Measures].....
Some of my collegues have the same version and it is working just fine. So I wonder, what is wrong with mine.
What can be the problem?

Settings button can be found in the SAP toolbar.
Also in Menu bar, you can see 'Settings' under SAP menu.
By the way, integration kit has to be installed beforehand.

Applying functions to database fields when querying for a form field

Hi,
how is it possible to apply trim() or another method to the content of a database field when a query is initiated?
The actual problem is that there are entries in the database which are entailed by a blank and, because the user is not aware of this fact, he cannot be forced to add a blank or % to the form field he is querying.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?

The where clause is built that way:
WHERE (ETN.trim(ETN_PLZ)=:1)
The error message:
ORA-00904: "ETN"."TRIM": invalid identifier
Actually, I guess that the trim statements should surround ETN.ETN_PLZ but that is obviously not the case.
Apart from that I did not enter 1 as the value to query for.
Nevertheless, thank you for your help. Forms version is 10.1.2 by the way.

MySQL - can't see database fields

I've set up a really simple database with names and addresses
in it. I want to pull out records based on the State. When I set up
my recordset, in the "Columns:" field, it says "No columns found."
What did I do wrong in setting up my database. When I go look at my

Can't find database field in report

How can I expand text fields in my PDF file which I built in Forms Central?

I'm working in Windows 7 and just created my first form in Forms Central. I have many text fields that I intended for the end user to be able to type as much information in them as necessary. I selected the "multiple lines of text" setting for each of these fields. I was told by someone at Adobe a while back when I was trying to decide on learning LiveCycle Designer or using the much more user-friendly Forms Central that the form fields would not automatically expand in the PDF form, but that I would be able to click or drag on the fields manually to expand them so that, ultimately, they could be printed with all the comments, for however many pages it would take. I've exported my Forms Central form to a PDF file. However, when I type multiple lines of text in the form fields I set up to be "unlimited," I cannot get the form fields to expand. What have I done wrong? Help, please!

We are dealing with a similar situation. We have downloaded LiveCycle and created the form, but as we knew would happen, the changes that come for the content of the form are causing us to max our trial version, and as soon as the form needs a change outside of the trial time period, we are faced with the next dilemma, as Adobe doesn't offer to purchase a single license at a reasonable rate. The only reason we wanted LiveCycle was for the dynamic field feature. I plead with you to consider offering that feature in Forms Central. The other issue that we are having is that our users sometimes need to paste a table into the expandable text field. Is that even possible in Live Cycle? We don't at this point need the web-based functioning that Live Cycle offers. Thank you.

Can't add database field or text object to a report (new and existing)

We have Crystal Report 8.5 and when trying to modify an existing report or create a new report, I can't seem to add any database fields or text objects in my report. I get a prohibition symbol (circle with a backslash inside it) when I hover over the report. Has anyone encoutered something like this? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Do you have two monitors?
I had this problem if I tried to open crystal in the second monitor, move it back to primary monitor and it should be OK.

Hi Aarthi,
This is relevant for the time dependant master data that is being pulled in thw query. Like if you are using a nav attr in the query and this nav attr is time dependant, then which record (from the char master data) is to be pulled into the report, depends upon the key date that you specify.
The default key date value is the date on which the query is executed, that is <Today>.

Can we create a field for Variance?

My client wants to see the following in SAP Business one 2007A PL:08
1 - A variance column that will calculate the difference between the A/P Invoice Price and the PO price. This could be a dolar amount or a %. How do I do this? Can I define an UDF for this?
2 - A flag at AP invoice stage where it will alert saying that the A/P invoice price is different than PO price. How do I create alerts?
3 - Lock certain fields in the header information of Item Master Data, Business Partner Master Data etc. How do Lock a specific field. Users are changing too much of information randomly.

OWB 10g -- Can't Create Database Links for Data Source and Target

We installed OWB 10g server components on a Unix box running Oracle 10g (R2) database. The Designer Repository is in one instance. The Runtime Repository and the Target are in another instance. The OWB client component was installed on Windows XP. We create a data source module and a target module in OWB. The data source is on another Unix box running Oracle 9i (R2) database. We try to create database links for data source module and target module, respective. But when we created and tested the DB links, the DB links were failed.
For the database link of data source, we got the following error message:

Class Name: CacheMediator.

As I said prior the database link creation should work from within the OWB client (also in 10).
Regarding your issue when deploying, have you registered your target locations in the deployment manager and did you first deployed your target location's connector which points out to your source?
I myself had some problems with database link creations in the past and I can't remember exactly what they were but it had something to do with
- the use of abnormal characters in the database link name
- long domain name used in as names.default_domain in my sqlnet.ora file
What you can do is check the actual script created when deploying the database link so see if there's something strange and check if executing the created script manually works or not.

Can't edit narrator field for audiobooks in iTunes

I noticed a new "narrator" field in iTunes for the Audiobook media kind, but I can't edit it.
Also, I can't seem to edit the "Remember playback position" and "Skip when shuffling" options. I can fix the second issue by changing it to Music media kind, checking them, and changing it to Audiobook over again; however, seeing as there is no "narrator" field for Music, I can't use that workaround.
I am using iTunes 12.1.0.50.

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. One thing to remember about manually updating though is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
