Can't find music on my nano

Hi,
When my nano gets connected to my computer and Itunes comes up, I get a message saying that my music could not get sync'd to my nano because this is an unauthorized computer. I recently intalled a new HDD on my computer and trid to backup all my stuff from my old drive to my new drive. Is there a way to get this HDD authorized like my old drive was??
Thanks,
greenda4

Awesome! Thanks! That worked for me as well. Seems as though we have up to 5 computers that can be allowed authorization

  • Can you transfer music from a nano to a ipod touch?

Can you transfer music from the nano to the ipod touch? how?

After connecting your Ipod Touch to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, you can choose Transfer Purchases from iPod (Ipod Nano) from the File menu.
Or you can right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your Ipod Touch in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature only works for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod or iPhone to the iTunes library.
    Hope that helps you out.

You can't.  The most you can do is report is missing to the police.

From the iTunes store on your computer, then sync the iPod.

  • Can't find music - any music - on itunes

Can't find music - any music - on itunes. Plenty of apps for iphone, etc. But no music. I know itunes has music. Just no link for it. And no I do NOT mean itunes on my MacBookPro; I'm talking about itunes in the cload.

Then download the media that has been purchased.  This happens automatically when new media is purchased.

  • Siri can't find music unless I enable use cellular data for Music

I have an iPhone 4S with the latest IOS.  I ask Siri to play music but "she" can't find it unless I "enable" Use Cellular Data for Music.
As soon as I enabled this setting in the Settings -> Cellular section Siri could find and play the music.
I certainly don't understand why this is happening.  Why isn't Siri able to just find what is local to my iPhone and play the music.
Can someone enlighten me on why this would happen?

    Hi Chris,
Songs are on the iPhone - there is no cloud symbol (I'm familiar with that as well).
I've updated my signature - I am running the latest OSX and IOS (thanks for reminding me).

  • Can't find music that is supposed to be available

I don't know if I'm losing my mind, but two weeks ago when I did a search in the iTunes Music Store for Frank Zappa, about 20 different albums came up that were available for purchase.
Yesterday when I went in to download some of this music, the search results came up with absolutely nothing with him as the artist. There is a link towards the top under "Artists" for him, and when I click on it, it takes me to some sort of artist page where it says, "Zappa's complete collection is now available on iTunes." But, that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Only one album displays, and it isn't even his album, just some sort of tribute album. I can't find a single song by him.
I'm really frustrated because I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if iTunes is just messed up. And it makes me wonder if I can't find these songs, what other songs is iTunes not displaying when I do a search?
If you can give me any help, I'd sure appreciate it.

You're not crazy - it's not you. I can't find them by just typing "zappa" or "Frank Zappa" in the search field, either.
I tried browsing for them, got to Rock > Art/Prog ROck > Frank Zappa. First time it gave me an error 50.
2nd time, it came up blank.
Third time I got some results.
"Weasels RIpped My Flesh", "Freak Out" were in the album list.
Then it told me not available in the US.
I suggest getting them from emusic.com, higher bitrate and no DRM.

  • Itunes can't find music library on computer

Somehow I've moved my music on my computer and itunes cannot find any of it. I can't play anything on the computer, an exclamation point is next to it and the computer tells me itunes cannot find the music. Help! What did I do and how do I fix this? Where should my library be saved? It's currently under itunes folder in my music... is there somewhere else it should be?

I have the exact same problem and came here looking for an answer. Does anyone have one?!? I am so frustrated. All my music is on my computer and has not been moved yet iTunes suddenly can't find it and I am so mad right now!! When I went to update my iPod with the one new song I bought from iTunes it deleted EVERYTHING except my purchased music and now it can't find anything. WE're talking 500+ songs and I am really upset so I hope someone here has an answer!!

  • How can I find music in iTunes media folder not included in my library

How can I find the items that are in iTunes music media file but are not currently in my library?  There is 7.5G and 1623 items in the music media file but only 5.95G and 1280 items in my library.  If I try add the media file to my library it duplicates. So how to find which files are missing from the library and only add those to my library?

Try using a software that its designed to find duplicates, such like these: http://www.howtogeek.com/201007/how-to-find-and-remove-duplicate-files-on-mac-os -x/
Search and proceed to do the deletions, copy or cuts necessary

  • N8 Video Editor - Can't find music tracks

My N8 video editor can't find any of the 2500+ music tracks (mostly AAC files and rare MP3s) that I have in the music library.
It can only find 4 AAC alarm tones that I imported from my N95 8GB.
    What's wrong with it ?

Just had this myself as well - seems there should be an icon just under the Library for Music Videos but there is not at the moment. Have not found a way to add one either.
My solution was to simply create a smart playlist and choose the option 'video type' and set to music video. This created the list of all of my music videos.
    Hope it helps, Regards Mike

  • Can't Find Music Files in C Drive

There are many AAC files that I can see in iTune library, but I can't find those in 'My Document/My Music' folder, nor can I find those in my local hard drive. Where could these file be?

Rename what, the m4a part? I wouldn't if I were you! The file extension (the m4a) tells both Windows and iTunes how to use the file. If you change it to something else, your computer won't know what to do with it.
I don't know the full history of Apple's development of these files, but AAC is the name they gave to the encoding system that turns the CD music into iPod format. Perhaps it was only after they developed it that they discovered a good reason why they couldn't use aac as the file extension, but quite frankly, you don't need to worry about any of this, because now you know that Apple's AAC files are stored as m4a files. End of problem.
Don't forget, the filename is what the computer (both Windows and MAC) and the internet use to handle the file. But that filename is not detailed enough for you and I to use on our iPods. So "tags" were introduced as an additional piece of information "within the file" so that we humans can see all the information we want. Those tags are what you see in iTunes and on the iPod.
Or, did you mean renaming the song's filename? Well you can, but why would you want to? You can change the *name of the song* in iTunes so that it's your choice in iTunes and on your iPod, but the filename would stay as before. (Note that filename and song title/artists name are separate pieces of information that are not actually connected to each other. A song called "one, two, three" could have a filename of "xyz"!) A word of caution here; if you change the filename after you have added the song to iTunes, it will be lost by iTunes and you'll then have to spend time getting iTunes to find it again, probably after another post here to find how to find the lost songs! (We've seen such posts in the past.)

  • I can not see music on my nano

I have dowloade music from my PC to my nano. When I plug it in to my PC I see it on my nano. When I take it off to listen to it I can not see it.

If you have iTunes purchased music on your phone and then you should be able to copy it over to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the phone to it and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option - and similarly to copy iTunes purchases music from the Nano. If you have more than one device connected to iTunes at the same time then you might need to select the device in iTunes for the Transfer Purchases menu option to be active, otherwise iTunes won't know which device that you are wanting to copy content from (and therefore possibly disable the menu option).
For getting the music onto your iPod Touch, connect it to your computer and select it on your computer's iTunes - with the current version of iTunes, iTunes 12, you should (when a device is connected) get a 'device' icon at the top left of the iTunes screen next to the icons for the different types of iTunes content that you have in your library (music, films, apps etc).
e.g. this is what I see for my iPad (the blue icon at the top right to may partial screenshot is the 'device' icon, which is blue because I've selected it) - hopefully my screenshot will show, but there is a bug affecting images on these forums.
Select Music under Settings on that left-hand side of your iTunes, and on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen you should be able to select which of your iTunes music to have on the iPod.
Syncing with iTunes : Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB.
And similarly for syncing music to the Nano.

  • HT1391 I can't find music that I have bought in my library

help! I have bought some music. I can see it in my recent puchases and I can play it. but when i search in my main library I can not find it anywhere.

If you're using iOS 7 or 8, tap on the Settings app, then on "Music", and then check "Show All Music" is on. Then go to the Music app and find the album. Click on Download and that's it. You should also be able to download it by going to the "Purchased" link under "Quick Links" on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store homepage and selecting "Music".
If you're using an old version of iOS such as iOS 6.1.6 or lower (until 4.3.3), go to the iTunes app, tap on "More", "Purchased" and "Music", then tap on "Not on This iPhone/iPod/iPad" and search for the album.

  • Can't find music videos downloaded from iTunes on my iPod

Any ideas as to why I can't find the music videos I've downloaded from iTunes on my iPod?

I am currently using iTunes 7.5. I've made some music video on my own, I have converted the .dv format into .mp4 format. I first import the .mp4 files into the Movie library. But I cannot put these clips in the music video playlist the clips in the movie library. I then tried to import these clips again to the Music library. Nothing happened. I tried to copy the clips from the movie library and paste to the Music library, I could do the cut, but when I selected the music library, the paste command was gray out.
    What did I do wrong?
