Can't get focus to address bar in new tab

I have tried everything said in previous posts and unfortunately i cant get it to focus the address bar.
I have tried uninstalling all adons, restarted in safe mode, this should be like this automatically, but for some reason it isn't. Can i change something in about:config?

You might need to reinstall Firefox to repair program files, but first, do you want to try a different new tab page: just a blank page?
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and change from ''about:newtab'' to ''about:blank'' and OK that change.
You can test immediately with Ctrl+t to see whether that makes any difference.

It's been a couple of weeks since I've had this problem, and I can't seem to solve it.
Firefox automatically updated to version 24 and ever since, when I open a new tab, either with Ctrl+t or by pressing the + sign, there is no focus of the cursor, nowhere, while before, the focus was in the address bar. I want to have that back, since it is extremely annoying to always have to move my mouse cursor to the address bar and click it.
I haven't changed anything, tried reinstalling, tried the costum new tab add-on, but nothing works.
So if anyone here is able to help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that happens with the about:newtab page. You can press the F6 key to set focus to the location bar.
You can change the browser.newtab.url pref to about:blank to get an empty page with the cursor in the location bar.

Yahoo hijacked my address bar and new tabs how can i restore google

Whenever I open a new tab it defaults to yahoo search even when i uninstalled yahoo toolbar and set new tabs to my home page. Yahoo also shows in my address bar. What gives? I would prefer to have google for my search default new tab page

Select address bar on new tab

When I create a new tab, I have my search box selected. How can I change settings so there will be address bar selected instead of search box?

You can set the new tab page via the browser.newtab.url pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to about:blank or another page that doesn't have a search bar and set the home page to a search page of your choice.
You can middle-click the Home button on the Navigation Toolbar to open the home page in a new tab.

How can I get back the "custom URL in new tab" functionality that I had in v 12 using new tab add-on?

I REALLY need this since I have written my own custom web directory which I use all day long. It seems that the new New Tab behavior should be OPTIONAL. I had to revert to version 12 because it adds a couple of clicks every time I request a new tab many, many times a day in my work. I was using the New Tab URL add-n and it does not override the new functionality.

If you want to open a new tab in a certain url (like www.google.com or another site) go to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config] find/type '''browser.newtab.url''' , double click on it (or right click on it and select modify) and type the url you want. Every time you open a new tab you open it in that url/site.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). On windows, IP Helper functions, like SendARP allow you to pass an IP address and get the hardware address. You store the hardware address on your database/file and later, when that machine is off, you send a frame to the address you stored previous.

Previous iPod Touch worked fine, new iPod Touch can't get an IP Address

I had a version 1.1.4 iPod Touch for several days and it worked quite well. I was able to automatically connect to wireless connections at work, at home and at my parents house without meddling with any wireless settings and by just using DHCP.
The other day I exchanged the iPod Touch for a different one, due to a defect in the case manufacturing, and with this iPod Touch, I haven't been able to connect to any of the previously mentioned wireless networks. I noticed that I wasn't able to get an IP address at all at my parents house, but I figured it was because I hadn't upgraded to 1.1.4, and was still at 1.1.3. I upgraded to 1.1.4 though this morning and at the work network, I'm having the same issue. I can easily connect to the wifi networks, but if I look at the DHCP settings, it's all blank. I can't get an IP address.
I looked around the forum here and found a great deal of people who for some reason couldn't connect to their particular wireless setup. This problem however is different in that I could easily connect to many wireless setups, but now that I've seemingly just switched to a different iPod Touch, I can't connect to the same ones at all.
It seems weird to me that the issue could just be that I got a different iPod, and I really think there must be some other reason, but I can't think of one. From all outward appearances they're the exact same. Same networks, same version.
What else could be the issue?

If your new Touch can't get on any network, then does it have a MAC address assigned to it? Go to Settings/General/About and scroll to the bottom to see if you have a "Wi-Fi Address", which is the MAC address assigned to your particular unit.

If you're able to get on some networks but not others (where you had no problem before) then perhaps there is a subtle difference in the new unit's performance. You can try restoring it to see if that helps, but that means erasing everything and starting over.

I don't think whether it's easier or not is really an issue. The problem is that all of these wonderful technologies are taking away our understanding of how to communicate in writing. It's not a matter of being lazy and not "wanting" to do it, but rather getting to a point where many people "can't" do it.
I certainly wasn't pointing any fingers. I use a calculator (or computer if I happen to be on one at the time) to do the most basic math calculations. I can be out to lunch with co-workers and we have to pull out a calculator to split a bill 4 ways. I went through school at a time when calculators were not permitted. So, at one time, I could have easily done all of that stuff in my head. So far as math goes, my mind has turned to mush a long time ago. I doubt I could work my way through a long division problem at this point... even if I sat there and really tried.
Computers were not generally consumer items when I was growing up. So I didn't grow up in a world with spell checking. I have certainly grown to use it though and I'm sure my ability to spell properly has diminished somewhat because of it. I tend to be less careful when typing something out. If I'm not sure of the spelling on something, I just let my computer either fix it or give me a suggestion for the corrected spelling. Fortunately, I grew up having to rely on my own ability to spell, so with that foundation, I tend to do fairly well when it comes to spelling.
We're at a point now where systems can correct grammar and sentence structure. I think all of these are great tools to help us out, but they shouldn't be used to take the place of actually knowing how to do things. Having said that, I'm fairly sure that is exactly what will happen. Just as today, I rely almost entirely on some form of electronics for everyday math, I'm sure people growing up today with expert systems able to correct everything will rely on those equally.
