Can't get ipv6 address assigned correctly.

I use NetworkManager and dhclient for auto-configuration but it has some weird problems.
When I boot up my laptop, I only have chance to get access to ipv6 network, when I fail, I tried to delete the connection in Network Management Settings, and then added a new profile, disable and then enable the network again. Sometimes it works well, but sometimes it failed to auto-config.
If I use the command:
$ ip -6 rout
then I'll get the following message:

every time the default gateway is configured well, sometimes the address the address is missed , and if I do the following:

It responses normally.

I found I just sometimes can get the ipv6 address start with 2001:
If the address is assigned, then:
$ ping6 ipv6.google.com

11 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 10008ms
response nothing!
Then I switch into Windows 7, if something like above happened, then I managed to set the MAC address to a random value such as 12-34-56-78-91-23, soon, the problem will be corrected, I'll get a new ipv6 address assigned by DHCPv6 server. If I switch back to arch, set the MAC address in NetworkManager, it didn't have function at most time, and the ipv6 address even won't change!
Can anyone help me with this problem?
by the way, I never get ipv6 address when I use dhcpcd.

    I also noticed that when i connect to the AP via console-cable, i can see the AP boot up in the console session, but then i do not get a login prompt, but it seems like the AP is responding; if i shutdown the interconnecting link between the switch and the AP, i do see log messages appearing in the console-connection.

    I'm should be getting my ip via DHCP(as i believed that this is the way that the AP searches for an ip, when it has no config yet). The DHCP-server is configured on a cisco 871 router that is connected to the switch, as i found no option to configure it on my switch, which is in layer 3 mode. The DHCP-pool is assigned to the vlan(native) 1 address-range(in this case 192.168.0.x/24). I also have configured a range for my workstations, and here i do get Ip-addresses assigned.
    The AP does not connect to a Wireless controller. Also i have checked my inter-vlan routing on my switch, and i have connectivity to all vlans, so i believe my AP should have connectivity to the DHCP-server configured on the router.
    Ping-test from switch shows no issues:

  • How can I get the address book to sort by "Last" name (using v 31.3.0).

    After a computer crash, I had to load Thunderbird (v31.3.0) back into my machine running Windows 8.1, and I successfully imported my address book back up file into Thunderbird (v31.3.0).
    My problem is that I don't see an option to sort the address book by "Last" name, which was available with the version of Thunderbird I had before the crash.
    How can I get the address book to sort by "Last" name?

    In 'Address Book'
    Select address book
    'View' > 'Show name as' > 'Last/First'
    The you can sort by Name.
    Either click on 'Name' column header to change sort order,
    If reversed, then click on 'Name' column header again to reverse the order.

    'View' > 'Sort By' > choose 'Name' and 'Ascending'

  • Music in itunes from different cd's, how can i get it to have correct info?

    1.  I have over 2000 songs in itunes from different mixed cd's, how can I get them to have correct artist and album and titles?

    It works on both Mac and PC.
    It is a great tool for correcting MetaData "Music Info" for all of your songs. It also adds the correct album artwork and can remove duplicate songs from your library easily.
    iTunes on PC will convert the WMA to MP3 for you if you like. To do so just right click on your WMA files in iTunes and choose convert to MP3.
    If you have already moved all of your music to Mac and no longer have a windows machine there are a couple of programs that will do it for you from Mac OS X. Some are free and some cost money. Let me know if you would like to know a couple of examples.

    Mine is doing the exact same thing, and nobody on any of these threads has had any luck fixing it yet, so far as I can tell. iSync is worthless since it simply won't see the ipod and basically is not used at all now as .mac is done through its own preference window. What did work for me, and was quite easily done, was to just open your ipod through the finder and delete the vcard data in the contacts folder. Export your contacts from address book as a vcard to that contacts folder on your ipod, and it all works fine.
    Still won't sync...but at least this only takes a minute to do. I'd like to actually fix it though.

  • Can't get albums/songs in correct order!!! (11.1.3)

    I can't get songs and albums to order correctly on my iPod. All but one album has the correct song order on iTunes on my laptop and they are all ordered by artist/year on iTunes, I can't get that ordering method to transfer to the iPod. And on half the albums on the iPod the songs are out of order and/or the albums are out of chronological order.
    So I had been using some outdated version of iTunes on my old computer for some time, and with that version and my 4th gen Nano I was able to get my albums arranged by year like I like them.
    I bought a new computer (old one still works) and had my iPod stolen about the same time so I had a new computer and was forced to resort to a secondhand 3rd gen Nano, using iTunes 11.1.3, completely unfamiliar to me. Some of the stuff I own isn't off iTunes and that's what I'm having the biggest problem with.
    I had the issue of two songs being in the wrong place on one album. The track numbers were appropriate, everything else in the "get info" field was identical to the rest of the album. Frustrated, I once again copied my library from my old computer to my new one. This was a huge mistake.
    In an attempt to get everything back the way it was I started messing with the iPod settings in iTunes, checking boxes like "manually manage songs" without having a clue what they did. I tried "converting higher bit songs to 192kbps" due to this old turd not being able to hold all my music otherwise. This helped none.
    At least half of my albums were now out of chronological order, some of them were split into 2 albums, (one album would claim to only have one song. It had all 12 or so songs from that album but they were out of order.) Some had all the songs in order but were chronologically incorrect. (2002 album appearing before 1997 album) and some (like the one I got off a CD) are impossible to order correctly. I manually filled out every. single. field. in the "properties" section. The track listing still goes like 2,3,4,5,1,10,7,8,9 or something like that. It is just infuriating.
    I have just had it. I've tried everything I can think of, I've scowered the internet and can't find anything helpful.
    I'm at the point right now where I think it would be easier to just buy 50 CDs and use those to listen to in my car rather than have to deal with Satan's idea of user-friendliness. Any help is greatly appreciated, I've just had it.

    What behaviour exactly do you consider to be a programming error? If repeatable and clearly not an intended design choice then a bug report might be in order.     I am unable to put the songs of a playlist I created in the order I want. iTunes 11.1.3 has been on my machine since September of last year and this issue began today. I'd lke to believe it's the result of something I have done, but the world is full of things I would like to believe that are not.
    "View Options" was set to 'manual' and songs would snap back when I attempted to move them, so - as that was the only preference I could find that applied - I changed it to "Artist Name" and back to manual. Now they don't budge when I attempt to move them.
    Ah, when viewing a playlist use the List view and select the heading of the left-most column of numbers. This is the Play Order column. You can drag tracks up and down the list. If you sort on some other column and would like to use this as an initial order which you can then modify, right-click on the playlist name and click Copy to Play Order then select the play order column. Note the triangle should be pointing upwards otherwise the list will play in reverse on your device.

  • WRT320N Can't get IP Address - only using 1 wired port - no internet access - web setup pages hang

    Just bought Linksys WRT320N to replace Netgear MR814.
    Can't get connected to internet using Linksys WRT320N.  
    Setup:
    ISP:  Cox Communications (Cable)
    Firmware: v1.0.03 build 010 Jul 24, 2009
    1 wired - port 1- to Windows XP SP 3 Dell Desktop
    Setup Attempts:
    1.  Tried to setup using install CD.  Kept erroring out with Error 302: Internal Error. tried this 3 times
    2.  Went through the reset, power down, power up procedures.
    3.  Ping 192.168.1.1 = success
    4.  Connected to 192.168.1.1 via web browser 
    5.  Set MAC Address = computer's MAC address
    6.  Set MTU = Auto (1500).  Also tried Manual 1492
    Was unable to get IP address using IP Address Release and IP Address Renew.  Internet IP Address still = 0.0.0.0
    Note that the web page will always get stuck after perfoming a couple of actions (like after switching between tabs).  Message in bottom of browser is "Wating for http://192.168.1.1/Status_Router.asp".  And on the screen the hourglass symbol never goes away.
    Note that the old Netgear router still works fine and I am currently connected to the internet using the Netgear router.   I'd appreciate any help getting the new Linksys router functioning/connecting to the internet/obtaining and IP address.

    I don't know where I was unclear: you wrote before that you have used the mac address clone function on the WRT to clone the MAC address of the PC. This way the WRT "pretends" to be the PC if you connect the WRT internet port to your modem.
    However, the PC is not the device which you used before to connect to the internet. The PC was not the device which was connected before to the modem. If you connect the PC directly to your modem it won't get an IP address either. It won't have internet.
    The problem is that your ISP only allows you to have a single active internet connection at any given time. If you simply connect a different device with a different MAC address to your modem this other device won't get an IP address. As you have connected the Netgear router to your modem and you have internet then you have to clone the MAC address of your Netgear router. That's the device which is connected to your internet and that's the MAC address for which your ISP has locked your internet connection.
    Thus, one more time: clone the MAC address of the netgear router (the internet or WAN port MAC address) on your Linksys router. Then the Linksys pretends to be the Netgear router and your ISP should accept the Linksys router. The netgear router should have a status page in it's web interface which shows you the correct MAC address to be cloned.

  • Can't get ipv6 connectivity outside LAN

    Hi there,
    a new arch system has been set up by me and now I try to get IPv6 working. Sixxs is my tunnel provider and it did work on my previous (Ubuntu 10.04) system. So in general it should be possible :-). I installed the aiccu package from the AUR and if I do "aiccu start" it gets all the correct tunnel data. Testing things with "aiccu test" shows that everything, but outbound connections, works. I can ping myself, but test 6 (Ping the IPv6 Remote/PoP Inner Tunnel Endpoint), 7 (Traceroute6 to the central SixXS machine) and 8 (Traceroute6 to (www.kame.net)) fail. Test 6 gives the following hint:
    ### If the previous test was succesful then this could be both
    ### a firewalling and a routing/interface problem
    It seems that the sixxs interface is configured correctlyt, ifconfig shows (the *'s are replacements by me):

    I am behind a NAT which connects me to the internet. Do you have any hints where to look else? Should it work by default or am I missing some settings?
    Furthermore I need to use the teredo protocol with meredo, but this is likely another issue (as running meredo does not affect the general ipv6 situation with aiccu for me).
    Edit: After executing
    ip route add ::/0 dev sixxs
    I could get sometimes a connection. For a ping6 the best was about 50% package loss. I found this on the wiki pake for manual 6in4 tunnels. So it seems that it actually has something to do with routing and which routes are created by the aiccu -- so this is not yet resolved.

    Thanks for posting your conig, smayer. Unfortunately I got the same result as before

    Some packet get through -- strange. My router is probably alright, since it did work on Ubuntu two weeks ago.
    I tried the same config with an ArchLinux on my notebook. It is connected via wlan to the same router. There happens exactly the same -- packet loss. Well, either my router is not working correcly for about two weeks now or my arch setups have both some problems. I'll try this on another machine.
    Edit: I tried it on another machine in this LAN -- Ubuntu 10.10. The same result there -- so it is probably not arch or my configuration. I'll exchange the router and see what happens.
    Edit: It seems to work now. After I have disable intrusion detection and firewalls on my router (I'll fine tune that) the packet loss is gone. So sorry for the spam here :-)

  • Can't get iPhoto to print correct size photo

    I have iPhoto 09.   I have two 4 x 6 photos I want to print, one on top of the other, with a 1 1/4 outside border all around and a 1/2 space in between them.  I'm printing on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of photo paper.
    I did this several months ago and it worked fine.  Now I'm trying to print the same arrangement, but can't get the sizing right.  I don't remember exactly how I constructed the above layout but assumed that I printed it as a two-photo contact sheet.  But now when I do it that way, the photos end up cropped and approximately 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 (instead of 4 x 6) and top/bottom borders of 1 3/4 instead of 1 1/4.   The L-R borders are now at 1 1/2 instead of 1 1/4.  The 1/2 space in between them remains correct.
    Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?   Thanks.
