Can't import Java Netbeans libraries

Hi,
I've inherited some code and cannot get it to compile. I get errors that the required import functions for various netbean classes cannot be found. These are for imports such as "import org.netbeans.spi.Wizard " which all fail stating that the classes cannot be found. I've tried compiling from within the Netbeans IDE and from within Eclipse but to no avail, any ideas where I can get hold of these classes that it is looking for?
Cheers

On netbean
Go to Tools -> Library manager -> New Library-> on Library type choose (class library) give it any name you want -> then add the jars for the file
Second step
Go to the project you are doing -> right click go to properties ->click on library -> then click on Add Library ->Press OK..
Try doing this

    "web-based jsp project" => so you write JSP or HTML stuff there, no? Like including the dtfx.js file and putting the javafx({ ... }) call in the proper places.
    "wrote the example code like (JavaFX code)" => Maybe it should be in a separate JavaFX project? Then generate the .jar file and use it in the above project.
    Now maybe I am misleading (if there is a a JavaFX stage in new items of the projects, perhaps NB allows it?) so I hope somebody knowing NB better than me will help you.
    Just in case: JavaFX code goes to .fx files; you cannot embed JFX code in JSP pages.

  • Import, import, import... but how can i import my own libraries?

    This is the case: i have a personal library, made by me. I jarred it and then i put it on a subdirectory named lib.
    How can i import it on a new class file? Because import only loads libraries on the jdk directory and only in the format any.any.* Compile is not the problem, i set up classpath and no problem. But if i send my program to another person, it wont run because dont have the library.
    And another question: can i put all the libraries in a jar file and the program read libraries IN the jar? So, how do i import it?

    So, how do i import it?Jars cannot contain (ok, they can, but not without a custom classloader) other jars.

  • Where to find .jar files so I can implement import java.util.logging

    I'm trying to figure out how to take an application built for Websphere and port it to WebLogic. I've come across this blog entry http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/using_java.util.logging_in_bea_weblogic and would like to try creating and using the startup class.
    I have not been able to find the correct jar files.
    import weblogic.common.T3ServicesDef;
    import weblogic.common.T3StartupDef;
    import weblogic.logging.LoggingHelper;
    In reading the documentation on using the NonCatalogLogger APIs at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/i18n/writing.html I also see some code calling for the following imports
    import weblogic.jndi.Environment;
    import weblogic.logging.NonCatalogLogger;
    1. Does anyone know where I can grab these?
    2. There must be a strategy for finding these .jars that people use. If so, what is it?

    I thought I understood you, but the more I look at what you've set here, I'll just be honest and admit that the I don't know what you are saying here:
    'You should be able to add the "weblogic.jar" in the WebLogic distribution to your classpath.' - What doe this mean?
    1. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add external JARS and navigate to the weblogic.jar
    2. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add Library and try to go from there?
    3. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add Variable and try to go from there?
    4. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath and do something else?
    5. Something else?
    Also, I don't know what you mean here:
    'You don't need to (and you shouldn't) copy that jar file, just have it in your compilation classpath. It will be present automatically at runtime.'
    Sorry for being so simple here but I've been trouble shooting why I can't follow what look like pretty simple steps to implement over-riding the ApplicationLifecycleListener Class to use existing java.util.logging.Logger code by adding the following to the the weblogic-application.xml:
    <wls:listener>
         <wls:listener-class>com.qualcomm.weblogic.log.listener.UtilLogWrapper</wls:listener-class>
    </wls:listener>
    And including as a referenced jar file, a simple POJO class instance of com.qualcomm.weblogic.log.listener.UtilLogWrapper.
    My resrouces for this are:
    1. http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/using_java.util.logging_in_bea_weblogic.
    2. http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/drolet-ant.html.
    Maybe my weblogic.jar is at the root of the problem.
    I hope you can 'dumb this down' for me with a simple explanation of steps to do what you outlined above.

  • How can I import multiple iphoto libraries into Photos beta

    I have successfully imported a single iPhoto Library into the Photos Beta app.  However I have several other iPhoto libraries that I would like to import into the Photos library.  Think of is as merging everything into one now that there's iCloud backup.
    I started with iPhoto back in 2005 and have created a separate library every three years ever since.  Each one is quite large, ~40 gigs.
    What is the best means to import additional libraries into my new Photos library.  Unfortunately the File import option on Photos does not allow for a selection of iPhoto Library file type.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Merge all iPhoto Libraries into one before migrating them to the new Photos.app.
    You cannot add additional libraries to a Photos library, only additional photos.  Or have several Photos libraries, but only one of them can sync with iCloud.
    To merge your iPhoto Libraries into one, use either Aperture, if you have it  (see:  Aperture 3.3: How to use Aperture to merge iPhoto libraries), or the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager:  Download it here:  iPhoto Library Manager

    I have the same exact problem! I can go into between the shared libraries and see them, however there is no "Show" dropdown menu on the bottom or Import button on the bottom!! Why is this???

  • "importing java classes" through forms9i

    hi
    i can't import any java class which i have written
    they are not visible on the "java classes list"
    when i try to import it manually typing, it gives "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException".
    what can i do?

    Hi,
    I am having the same problem.
    I can't import java class in the form.
    I read through most of the forum and this is what I tried.
    I follow the instruction and follow the sample form from OTN.
    Ok, this is what I did and tell me what I did wrong.
    1. I copy my co-worker jar files into c:\project.
    In it there are a bunch of jar files he uses jdk.1.4
    (i am not sure if this might cause the problem).
    2. on the CLASSPATH in CONTROL PANEL -- System icon,
    i have following:
    c:\project\security.jar;c:\program files\java\jre1.4.0_01\bin;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\bigraphbean.jar;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\LW_PfjBean.jar;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\bigraphbean-nls.zip
    BTW, my form version is 9.0.2.11.0, in windows environment.
    thank you soo much for your help.
    3. then I launched the forms, and tried to import java classes, it took about 2 minutes to pop up the window and it gives me an error:
    PDE-PER001 Internal error (depjv1).
    4. then I closed it and tried to import java classes again, and this second time didn't give me any error, but it gives me a blank selection.
    Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? please?
    and also can anyone tell me what's the different between the CLASSPATH in control panel and in regedit, under ORACLE, i also have a classpath set.
    This is what I have set under regedit.
    c:\program files\java\j2re1.4.0_01;c:\security.jar;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\bigraphbean.jar;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\LW_PfjBean.jar;C:\oracle\orads9i\jlib\bigraphbean-nls.zip
    Is this key supposed to be under my oracle registry?

  • Can I install Java 2 SDK 1.4.2 with NetBeans bundle on a Laptop?

    I'm new to programming and I'm getting an Alienware notebook with WindowsXP in a few months. I just want to be sure I can install and use Java on it.
    Any recommendations for literature on programming for beginners would be great too. Something easy to get into and learn from progressively, I have no programming experience.
    I will be tinkering and learning Java for the next few months hopefully, and reading text, and then I'm getting the notebook and I'm wondering if I will be able to use the bundle on it or if I need more downloads or anything. So any info on that would be great along with some good text purchases.
    Thanks.

    The Alienware should have no problems, everything I've heard about them has been good.
    I recommend that you install just Java, without Netbeans, then go to the Netbeans site - www.netbeans.org - and install the Netbeans found there. This way the 2 products are separate, and each can be independently updated - a problem if you install the bundle. Also, you can get the latest version of each.
    Select the J2SE 5.0 Java Development Kit (JDK). The current version is JDK 5.0 Update 1. This could go to Update 2 in a few months. Download the offline installer (large bundle), it's less likely to create problems than the online installer.
    I also recommend you download and install the documentation bundle (J2SE 5.0 Documentation, another large one) as Netbeans will need it.
    I recommend Netbeans 4.0, it works well with java 5. You should avoid 4.1, as it's still not stable.
    These items will allow you to create Java programs for all but the very largest corporate systems. There are specialized libraries that you can add later, as the need arises.
    Be sure to read all of the installation instructions before you start (one for Java, one for the docs, and one for NB.) They'll help you avoid a lot of the beginner problems.
    Sun has a very good tutorial - The Java Tutorial - that starts you at the very beginning and explains it all. There are a bunch of more specialized tutorials also, when you're ready for them. Go to java.sun.com and click Tutorials and Code Camps from the left-hand column.
    You can start the Java Tutorial right now, as the first part of it (after the introductory Your First Cup of Java) is learning the basics of the language, object orientation, and inheritance. This is covered by the topics Getting Started and Learning the Java Language.
    Hope you have fun!

  • Netbeans 6.7.1 & JavaFX Can't Find java.util.* at Runtime

    h1. Problem
    Netbeans 6.7.1 & JavaFX Can't Find the JRE classes (i.e. java.util.*) when the project is run (in Netbeans 6.7.1).
    h1. Reproduce
    Right Click Project_, then Run Project_
    init:
    deps-jar:
    C:\MyJavaFXProject\Source\Java\com\acme\Blah.java:4: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class ArrayDeque
    location: package java.util
    import java.util.ArrayDeque;h1. Workaround
    Add all the jar's found in JAVA_HOME. This is VERY BAD - because netbeans projects are no longer portable!
    h1. Does anyone else have this problem?
    Can you post a link if this problem is already on the forum or is in an Issue/Bug trackers somewhere please.
    Thanks for Reading.

    Thanks for the reply, evidently you are onto something!
    My NetBeans 6.7.1 JavaFX project is using the "JavaFX SDK on Java 1.6 (Default)" Platform.When I take a look inside this (using Manage Platforms) I can see that the following is in the list of platform classes:
    C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.7.1\javafx2\javafx-sdk\lib\desktop\rt15.jarI'm assuming that rt15.jar is the java runtime @ version 1.5, and indeed this does NOT contain the Java 6 ArrayDeque ('_Array Deck_') class.
    ahhughes@machine-114 /cygdrive/c/Program Files/NetBeans 6.7.1/javafx2/javafx-sdk/lib/desktop
    $ jar -tvf rt15.jar | grep "ArrayDeque"
    ahhughes@machine-114 /cygdrive/c/Program Files/NetBeans 6.7.1/javafx2/javafx-sdk/lib/desktop
    $So my question is, why? If this is the "_NetBeans JavaFX SDK on Java 1.6 (Default)_", then why is it using the 1.5 runtime? It's obviously using 1.6 at compile time... this just seems busted to me.

  • Can I build a GUI application with SWING only without [import java.awt.*;]

    I have seen several threads (in forums), books and tutorials about SWING and I see that they all mix SWING with AWT (I mean they import both Swing and AWT in their code).
    The conclusion that comes out is:
    It is good to learn about SWING and forget AWT as it won't be supported later. I have decided to do so, and I never include <<import java.awt.*;>> in my code.
    But I see that you cannot do much without <<import java.awt.*;>>. For example this line which changes the background color:
    <<frame.getContentPane().setBackground(Color.red)>>
    works only with <<import java.awt.*;>>. I have seen that codes in this and other forums import awt to change the background. Why is that?
    After all, I wonder, what can I do;
    My question is, can I change the background (and of course do all other things listener, buttons etc) without using <<import java.awt.*;>>.
    I would like to avoid using <<import java.awt.*;>> and using awt since my program will not work later.
    In addition, I believe there is no point to learn awt, which later will not exist.
    I know, I must have misunderstood something. I would appreceate it very much, if anyone could give me even a short answer.
    Thank you in advance,
    JMelsi

    Since swing is a layer on top of awt, AWT will exist for as long as swing does.
    If sun does ever remove AWT they will have to replace it something else swing can layer on to and you will probably only have to replace your import statements.
    The main difference is the way there drawn to the screen.
    You can do custom drawing on swing components but you can't on AWT.
    If your using a desktop PC system it's probably best to use swing just in case you wish to do some custom drawing.
    awt uses less memory than swing and is faster but swing can be extended. awt comes only as standard.
    Say for example you wish to implement a JButton with a ProgressBar below the button text, this can be done with swing!
