Can't load dimension properties from csv file

Hi all, I work with EPM 11.1.1
I'm trying to load DataStorage dimension property to existed Generic dimension (SKU) of my planning application.
When I create a profile I can't see this property in the Mapping options window using the following file:
!Section=Dimensions
'Name;DimensionClass;DimensionAlias;CustomDimensionID
SKU;Generic;;
!Members=SKU
'Name
Brand1
Brand2
!PropertyArray=SKU
'Property;Name;Value
DataStorage;Brand1;StoreData
DataStorage;Brand1;StoreData
When I use the following file:
!Section=Dimensions
'Name;DimensionClass;DimensionAlias;CustomDimensionID
SKU;Generic;;
!Hierarchies=SKU
'Parent;Child
#root;Brand1
#root;Brand2
!Members=SKU
'Name;DataStorage
Brand1;StoreData
Brand2;StoreData
I get the following warning:
Import Dimension SKU member section maps to non-dimension global property DataStorage. Data for this column will not be processed.
What I do wrong?
Edited by: Vovanenok on Apr 15, 2009 6:48 AM

Try:
!Section=Dimensions
'Name;DimensionClass;DimensionAlias;CustomDimensionID
SKU;Generic;;
!Members=SKU
'Name;DataType
Brand1;Unspecified
Brand2;Unspecified
!Hierarchies=SKU
'Parent;Child;DataStorage
#root;Brand1;StoreData
#root;Brand2;StoreData
Tho I would add MemberValidForPlan#;Plan#Aggregation, where # is a number of your application which this member is valid for or even has a specific aggregation, as well
example:
!Hierarchies=SKU
'Parent;Child;DataStorage;MemberValidForPlan1;MemberValidForPlan2;MemberValidForPlan3;Plan1Aggregation;Plan2Aggregation;Plan3Aggregation;UDA
#root;Brand1;StoreData;Y;Y;Y;+;+;+;
#root;Brand2;StoreData;Y;Y;Y;+;+;+;
Even more as an idea use pipes, maybe.
But you will need to say something about Aliases as well if this is a planning application.

  • Import Comments data and Dimension Members from csv file via Data Manager

    Dear Experts,
I have two questions regarding the data manager.
Q1.Is it possible to import "Comments" from the csv file via Data Manager?
We'd like to import the amount with "Comments".
    My image of csv file is like below;
    ACCOUNT,CATEGORY,TIME,ENTITY,INPUTCURRENCY,AMOUNT,COMMENTS
    1100000,ACTUAL,2010/06,LC,30000,This is comment
Q2.Is it possible to import the dimension "members" from the csv file via Data Manager?
We have a user-defined dimension named "Project"
and would like to import the members, instead of maintaining them in BPC administration manually.
I found an online help information which says "Import Master Data from a Data File Example",
but I could not find any relevant sample package for this.
(I tried to import the members by using "Import" package, but it failed...)
    reference:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75/helpdata/en/86/8b1bfc12c94fb0b585cca70d6f1b61/content.htm
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Fumi

    Hi Fumi,
In this case, I would suggest you to create a customized SSIS package which will fill-in the "Comment<APP>" table, according to the csv file you have. I do not know any standard package that allows you to import comment the way you would like...

  • How to load properties from csv file directly into a .dll parameter in a test step

    Hi,
I would like to take values from a property file  and plug them directly into parameter used to invoke dll calls.
I have looked at examples on how to use the property loader to input test limits, but I cannot figure out how to pipe into the params.
    I have tried. <step name>.Module.<param name>
    step.propertieslist[0].
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    m
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I agree that it would be nice.  The difference between limits and parameters though is that parameters are set dynamically.  What I mean by that is you never know how many parameters a step will have until you define the module. Whereas the Limits are always set in stone.  The only difference is the MultiNumeric Limit Test which is just an array that get's appended too with the same datatype.  And the only acess to a parameters value is through the API unless it is a variable.
The other hard part is that you don't know the datatype of parameters.  Any step can have any number of parameters as well as any datatype being passed to each individual parameter.
I think if you are set on NOT creating Locals or FileGlobals then you would need to create custom step types with subproperties that get assigned to the parameters.  This could be even more painful though because now you have to maintain and support the custom step types.
The other option would be to create your own property loader step that could call in and set things in the API.  HMMM now that would be an interesting project...

  • Error while load the data from CSV with CTL file..?

    Hi TOM,
When i try to load data from CSV file to this table,
    CTL File content:

    end as X_aca",
    Z_cdd position char (2),
         XM_dt position date 'yyyy/mm/dd'
    NULLIF XM_dt = ' ',
When I try the above CTL file; geting the following error..

    SQL*Loader-951: Error calling once/load initialization
ORA-02373: Error parsing insert statement for table "XYZ"."XXXX".
    ORA-00917: missing comma

    Possible Solutions
Make sure that the data source is valid.
Is a member from each dimension specified correctly in the data source or rules file?
Is the numeric data field at the end of the record? If not, move the numeric data field in the data source or move the numeric data field in the rules file.
Are all members that might contain numbers (such as "100") enclosed in quotation marks in the data source?
If you are using a header, is the header set up correctly? Remember that you can add missing dimension names to the header.
Does the data source contain extra spaces or tabs?
Has the updated outline been saved?

  • Loading data from .csv file into existing table

    Hi,
I have taken a look at several threads which talk about loading data from .csv file into existing /new table. Also checked out Vikas's application regarding the same. I am trying to explain my requirement with an example.
I have a .csv file and I want the data to be loaded into an existing table. The timesheet table columns are -
    timesheet_entry_id,time_worked,timesheet_date,project_key .
    The csv columns are :
    project,utilization,project_key,timesheet_category,employee,timesheet_date , hours_worked etc.
What I needed to know is that before the csv data is loaded into the timesheet table is there any way of validating the project key ( which is the primary key of the projects table) with the projects table . I need to perform similar validations with other columns like customer_id from customers table. Basically the loading should be done after validating if the data exists in the parent table. Has anyone done this kind of loading through the APEX utility-data load.Or is there another method of accomplishing the same.
Does Vikas's application do what the utility does ( i am assuming that the code being from 2005 the utility was not incorporated in APEX at that time). Any helpful advise is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Anjali

    Hi Anjali,
Take a look at these threads which might outline different ways to do it -
    File Browse, File Upload
Loading CSV file using external table
Loading a CSV file into a table
you can create hidden items in the page to validate previous records before insert data.
    Hope this helps,

  • Loading records from .csv file to SAP table via SAP Program

    Hi,
I have a .csv file with 132,869 records and I am trying to load it to an SAP table with a customized SAP program.
After executing the program, only 99,999 records are being loaded into the table.
Is there some setting to define how many records can be loaded into a table? Or what else could be the problem?
    Pls advice.
    Thanks!!!

    hi Arun ,
A datasource need a extract structure to fetch data .It is nothing but a temp table to hold data.
First you need to create atable in SE11 with fields coming from CSV file.
Then you need to write a report program to read you CSV file and populate your table in BW .
Then you can create a datasource on top of this table .
After that replicate and load data at PSA and use to upper flow.

    Kindly Suggest the Solution.
    Regards,

    Hello Sachin,
You can use the following metalink note:How to Read Data from an EXCEL Spreadsheet into a Form Using Webutil Client_OLE2 (Doc ID 813535.1) and modify it a little bit.
Instead of copy values into forms you can save them in your temporary table.

    Hi,
One of my collegue loaded 361000 records from one file file , how is this possible as excel accepts 65536 records in one file
and even in the infopackage the following are selected what does this mean

    e.g we have csv file
    customer;product;quantity;revenue
    a;x;"1.250,25";200
    b;y;"5.5";300
    data separator ;
    - char/delimeter used to separate field, e.g
    escape sign, e.g
    - "1.250,25";200 then quantity = 1.250,25
    separator for thousands = .
    - 1.250,25 means one thousand two hundred ...
    char used for decimal point
    - - 1.250<b>,</b>25
