Can't load page

While this site of a national news agency
http://www.mia.com.mk/default.aspx?lId=1
will open easily in both Win XP and Win Vista, it will not load with Safari/Firefox/Camino in Mac OS X Version 10.5.6.
No problems so far opening other sites in my iMac. Just this one. Any suggestions?
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1

Thanks for your re. Initially I'd only get a blank page in any of the three browsers. Last night I got better results with a freshly installed Safari 4 beta, although I never got to loading a whole page and best result was 54 out of 92 items. The other two browsers get the same old blank page. This morning Safari would download a text only page. There has never been an error message! When I switch to any of my laptops with Win XP/Win Vista the site loads with no problem whatsoever! BTW look up at the right hand corner for the English version of the site.

In general, you are correct - but also your server does need to be properly configured (and those errors above lead me to think it may not be) to serve the file types that your uploading - but it could be something else entirely. Can you zip up your composition folder, upload it to your Creative Cloud files, set it to share, and then post a link here so I can download it? If you'd rather not share it publicly, can you PM me with a link to your composition files?

  • Can't load pages in Safari 5.1 (Windows 7)

I received an auto notice to upgrade to Safari to Version 5.1 on my Dell E1505 Laptop running Windows 7.  After upgrading with the Apple Software Update tool, Safari has quit working.  It will not load any page and just hangs.  I used the windows control panel to first "repair" Safari, no change.  I uninstalled it and downloaded a fresh version from the Apple Website, no change.  I removed version 5 and downloaded version 4.03.  It now reports that it can't load the page because the website isn't responding.  Internet Explorer works as advertised.  I've reset Safari, repaired, removed, etc.  Any ideas?  Please don't make me go back to IE......
The PC is a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop with 2 GB Memory running Windows 7 with SP1.

  • Safari can't load pages

Every time I wake my computer from sleep mode, Safari (and every other web browser, for that matter) takes a good 2 minutes to load a page. I'm connected to a solid Wi-Fi network, and I can access the internet through other apps (I can get email, for example), but I can't load anything through Safari. The loading bar moves across about a 10th of the way, but it stops there for a long time. I have to reload the page several times for it to load anything.
I have tried clearing the cache, disabling DNS prefetching, and even reinstalling OS X Mavericks, but nothing helps. I have parental controls enabled, but with no web filtering option, so I don't see why that would affect Safari. Any help wold be appreciated!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Can I load "Pages" onto new hard drive without having to pay for it again?

I have a 5 yr old Mac that just had it's hard drive replaced.  I had paid for and loaded Pages onto the original hard drive.  Wondering if there's any way to load Pages onto my new hard drive without having to pay for the program again.  Thanks so much

If you originally installed Pages from a CD or DVD, reinstall it from there.
If you installed Pages from the Mac App Store, yes, from the Apple ID you purchased it with.
If you got Pages from the iTunes App Store, the Mac version of it is a separate purchase.

  • Can't load pages on Safari.

I have this very annoying issue with my Mac. (I have OSX v.10.7.3 Safari v. 5.1.5)
Very often when I try to open a webpage it takes forever to load and eventually I either get a “Safari can’t open the page because the server where this page is located isn’t responding.” message or the page loads partially-no pictures or with a strange layout. After that when I re-lunch the page it shows up instantly. The strange thing is that when I don’t wait but instead quit and re-lunch Safari while it's loading the page, it loads straightaway. I can also turn my Internet connection on and off again and same thing happens. (WiFi or cable- it doesn’t matter) The problem is that I have to do it every time I click on a link. You can imagine what happens when I try to open more than one tab or window.
This also happens on Chrome on my Mac but my Toshiba Win XP works perfectly so I don’t think it’s the modem or wifi. I don’t have any antivirus installed, no mackeepers either.

    Hi...
Apple suggests using OpenDNS >  Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
    Very easy to setup.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, and it's free.

  • Can't Load Pages - Proxy PAC file stored locally

    Hi folks,
I was using last Safari 2 version and recently updated to Safari 3.0.4 and 3.1 and then it was impossible to connect using my corporate VPN solution. We use Juniper Network Connect 5.5.0 solution and during connection, this software changes IE7 proxy configuration by editing PAC URL (proto=http://, when connected on corporate network) to a PAC path of a file stored locally in "...\Application Data\Juniper Networks\Network Connect 5.5.0\instantproxy.pac" (proto=file://, when abroad). When I disconnect it, it reverts the changes back to an URL address.
When I found out this, I tried to copy and paste the proxy path stored in IE7 to the Safari address bar and tried to load the file.
    IE7:
    +file://C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Application Data\Juniper Networks\Network Connect 5.5.0\instantproxy.pac+
Safari transform the pasted address to:
    +file:///C:/Documents%2520and%2520Settings/MyName/Application%2520Data/Juniper%25 20Networks/Network%2520Connect%25205.5.0/instantproxy.pac+
And tries to load but then I have a "Safari Can't find the file." error.
Looking back to Safari transformed address, I saw that there is "%2520" code that represents the spaces. But wait..."%20" isn't the space representative code? I think, we have a small bug here...
So I replaced "%2520" codes by "%20" and tried to load the file. As expected the file loads!!!
I reported this as a bug but I hope that someone can share some experience with Safari and|or Juniper Network Connect in order to find a workaround!!

Well without any explanation from Apple, it appears that this bug was fixed. I tested it again on Safari 5.0.4 and it's working great now.

  • Can't load pages on first try.

When trying to view websites, either by clicking a link or by typing the address, FireFox always fails to load up the page saying "The connection to the server was reset" or "Cannot find server", but as soon as I refresh the page it loads.
I know it's FireFox as every other browser I use works fine with no trouble whatsoever.
Is there anyway to fix this without having to reinstall FireFox again?

  • Even on Firefox 28.0 i can't load my new pages to a tab but rather it opens a new window and i see ths has been around for quite a while, can someone fix this u

I can't load pages into a new tab anymore even when i right click a link and say open in a new tab it doesn't yet i use Firefox 28.0. even when i tried 29 alpha it still had the same problem.
    What is the solution?

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
''(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)''
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item:<br>
    [[Image:FirefoxSafeMode|width=520]]<br><br>
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''

'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.

  • Can not load Crate and Barrel to save my life!

I found a post over on the Safari board that speaks to an identical problem I am having with Crate and Barrel and CB2. No solutions offered there yet. Would appreciate any help!
I started trying to load the site on Sunday and thought it was their site till I phoned yesterday to learn that they had not heard of this issue from anyone else.
I tried a million times in Safari, Firefox, and even downloaded Netscape Navigator to see if that worked. Nada. It is clearly NOT a browser issue.
I've had this system for 10 months of daily/hourly use and have never had this issue with any other web site. It is totally confined to Crate and Barrel and CB2. Any link to any of their sections on their site will not load. The read out says: "waiting for crate and barrel" for a very long time and if I let it go on and on, I think I get the "can't load page, server not responding, can't find page", etc stuff.
I'm not super savvy when it comes to tweaking and experimenting, and not very brave, but it sounds like my experience is identical to the original poster.
I hope someone can offer some clarity and solutions here!
    Thanks

I should add before anyone asks that I have no memory of visiting either of those sites on this computer in the last ten months. It is probable that this was my first attempt to visit so I have no history of once being able to log on to compare current experiences to.
I am irritated because I need a new couch!!!
What on earth could it be about one retailer site that would be so infuriating for just a few of us?
    Thanks in advance!

Well, you probably won't want to hear this, but those sites work fine for me with Safari on 10.4.11 (minus the latest security update, though - why do they always issue those the day after I do a big update to a bunch of other software?).
First off, in Safari, go to the "Window" menu and open up the Activity window. It will show you what components of a page that Safari is trying to load. Maybe it will tell you what's getting hung up. You might need to use the triangle to open up some parts of the page.
Post back with the address from the Activity window if you find something not loading there. And notice how not all of the page components load from the same place, some come from other servers.

  • Firefox cannot load pages that other browsers can, but the 'help' page for this issue did not fix the problem.

I am troubleshooting an issue occurring on a family member's pc. Immediately after changing their "search" settings from "Yahoo search" to "Google search", they found that Firefox was unable to load any webpages. After troubleshooting the problem, I found the "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can" help page, and attempted each of the solutions listed. None of those solutions fixed the issue. Also, I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox; the issue persists. However, the 'new' version of Firefox remembered the tabs left open when the 'old' version was deleted, so some temporary files likely persisted.
Are there any other steps that can be taken, or is Firefox on this computer no longer an option?

    Start with this;
Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
    Check the settings.
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configure-firewalls-so-firefox-can-access-internet Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet.]''' {web link}
    If there is still a problem, go to that computer and do this;
Type '''about:support''' in the address bar and press '''Enter.'''
Under the main banner, press the button; '''Copy Text To Clipboard.'''.
Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page,
do a right click in the box and select '''Paste.'''
This will show us your system details.

On a recording while waiting for a support rep, it said if you're having problems logging in to go to:

It works for me. Now I have to logon everytime I go to their site though versus it had kept me already logged in before this problem.

  • How can I front-load page titles?

We have a public-facing SP 2010 website implementation and a recent Accessibility test suggested that we should front-load page titles, so screen reader users know the page they are on without skipping navigation.
Does anyone know how can this be done, as the elements in the website header (logo, search, main navigation) load first from Master Page?
    Thank you,
    Sandi

    Hi,
Thanks for this but I am not sure that it solves my problem.
I am interested in how to load the Page title in the HTML on top of everything else on the page. Normally, page title is part of the page itself - wrapped in a <h1> tag.
I would like to have this just after the <body> tag in HTML - the I will position on the page with CSS in the correct position.
    Thank you,
