Can't load shared lib lib... with SuSE 6.2

Hi,
i have a Problem with sqlplus and the shared librarys, if I start
sqlplus everytime it complains about the shared libs.
Is it wron to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to $ORACLE_HOME/lib ???
Do I need an updated JRE ??? GLIBC ???
Thank you for the help !!

Hi,
which libs are wrong? There are several libs with 0 byte size!!!
That is a known bug, and when ld reads them it of course
complains ;-)
For one of the 0 byte libs there is a patch (look at earlier
postings around 2 weeks ago)
Marcus
PS: it seems anyhow this release is not ready for prime time. If
you want to play around with Oracle, take 8.0.5.1, that works
really good.

I have a Canon Pixma MP500 scanner printer, is there a driver that can be loaded that is compatible with OSX v10.9.4?

Thanks, PAHU, for providing the Australian site for the Canon driver.  I have an MP500 and it still seemed to print fine after I downloaded Yosemite.  However, as others have reported, the MP Navigator no longer performed normally in scanning. The "Save As" keys didn't align and therefore didn't work but one could still scan using an alternative method ("Scan with scanner driver" button).
In any case, my hard drive subsequently failed on this 2010 27" iMac and when it was replaced the tech installed Yosemite 10.10.1.  Just tried printing this evening and it wouldn't.  Advised I needed undefined "software." Got various error messages.  Went to Google and read this and downloaded that to no avail.  Tried the Gutenprint driver but it too didn't work. Latest error was "stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter."  Had no clue what that meant!  System info listing for the printer (under About this Mac, System Info) lacked any reference to permissions or a printer utility version (but I didn't notice or know significance of omissions).  Finally I downloaded from the Australian site, just the print driver 10.51.2.  The printer then printed!!!  (The MP Navigator scanner remains flawed but works by clicking "Scan with scanner driver" rather than the normal way.)  I'm holding my breath that things will continue to work.
Thanks again, PAHU, for your help, and Greg and Pam and Andy too!

  • Error in shared lib on Suse 6.3 (Oracle 8.1.5)

    Hello everybody,
after several attempts and studying the SuSE-Howto on installing Oracle 8.1.5 I finally suceeded. But whenever I want to connect to my database using sqlplus I get the following:
sqlplus: error in loading shared libraries: /opt/oracle/product/8.1.5/lib/libclntsh.8.0: undefined symbol:nauzaoss
How can I correct this ??
Would be fine if it goes without reinstalling, I installed it on a notebook (128MB RAM though) ;-))
    Thank you for your support,
    sascha

Did you apply the patches? To use Oracle 8.0.5 on a Linux 2.2 kernel you need to apply some patches for Oracle. You can get these from Technet

    Hi hussein,
It seems only the discoverer start script got error. The metalink notes said:
Oracle Discoverer 4i is not certified with Oracle Applications 11i since December 2006.
    Solution
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Upgrade Discoverer to version 10.1.2 or later as per Note 313418.1
Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i. I think we are not using discover. Do I need to fix it?
But the start all script has status "1" at the end of run. which meant not successful.

  • Error loading shared libs

I am running 8.1.7 on RH7.1. Oracle installed properly and the
database was created just fine. Apps such as dbastudio and netca
etc appear to be fine also.
When I try to run Pro*C, i get the following error msg :
Error while loading shared libraries: lbclntsh.so.8.0: cannot
load shared object file : No such file or directory
The file does in fact exist in $ORACLE_HOME/lib/
    Any ideas??

    LD_LIBRARY_PATH must include this directory.
    Check your ENVIRONMENT.
    Good Luck,
    Brad

  • Can't load shared library, libgpg-error missing?

Right, so this morning I decided to try out Cinnamon. I booted into Arch, logged into GNOME, installed cinnamon from the repositories, and did a system upgrade. I then rebooted. I select Arch Linux from GRUB, everything is working fine, but GDM won't load. And there are some strange error messages I've never seen before on the screen. Hmm. So, apparently, the journal service failed to start:
    /dev/sda1: recovering journal
    /dev/sda1: clean, 260391/7782400 files, 2855892/31099729 blocks
[ 2.896956] systemd[1]: Failed to start Trigger Flushing of Journal to Persistent Storage.
[ 2.902798] systemd[1]: Failed to start Trigger Flushing of Journal to Persistent Storage.
[ 2.903928] systemd[1]: Failed to start Journal Service.
[ 2.904007] systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Trigger Flushing of Journal to Persistent Storage.
[ 2.904798] systemd[1]: Failed to start Journal Service.
[ 3.092906] microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd_fam15h.bin
So, I figure I need to do a bit of troubleshooting, and I need to disable GDM, since it doesn't want to start. So I boot into my installation media, arch-chroot into my newly mounted partition, and try to disable GDM with systemctl disable gdm.service. Well, apparently, systemctl is having trouble loading a shared library, because it then spits out this error message:
systemctl: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libgpg-error.so.0: file too short
So, I think perhaps that a library has magically gone missing and I try to reinstall it, but to no avail:
    pacman -Sv libgpg
pacman: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libgpg-error.so.0: file too short
I'm very confused at this point, I haven't the slightest idea what I did. Sorry about the lack of logs, I haven't found anything about this from Google or these forums. I have no idea what logs would be relevant here, as I have no idea what's going on. Any help, or suggestions on which logs may be relevant, would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

oops.  Two follow ups, first it seems you got that before my edit to at the -l flag to the second ls, I was curious if you still had the package in your cache, whether it was the right version, and whether it was the right size (poor man's checksum (1)).  It's there, and it's the right version, but I'm curious on the size too.
The second follow up was that I hadn't accounted for the symlink, so the second command should really be as follows
    ls -l /usr/lib/libpgp-error.so.0.10.0
as pacman says it's too short, I'm curious *how* short.  Is it an empty file, or does it look like the right size which would indicate other corruption, or is it just short.
EDIT (1):  I suppose while were at it we may as well get a real checksum.  Here's mine on the package cache file, yours *should* match
    $ md5sum /var/cache/pacman/pkg/libgpg-error-1.12-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
    602a18784e9916e1a4d13b10de6074aa /var/cache/pacman/pkg/libgpg-error-1.12-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
If yours matches that, the cause of this problem may remain a mystery, but the solution could be to reinstall that package.  I suspect this will be the solution regardless though.  And if you have a live media it might be easiest to just use pacman from the live system with your system as a target, and reinstall libgpg-error.  If you don't have a live media, then you *might* have to uncompress the package manually.

  • Can not load modules during boot with kernel 2.6.31

Every time i install kernel 2.6.31 (ever since it got into core), after reboot i receive message
    FATAL: module ... not found
with every module in my rc.conf, or sometimes with this message:
FATAL: could not load /lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/modules.dep no such file or directory
Before those errors the boot script complaisn about hardware clock (right after the Arch Linux line):
Could not access the hardware clock via any known method.
After that I can still start X but my keyboard and mouse are completely dead. The console works fine, i just can not load any module per hand, some daemon can not be started - obviously.
Latest kernel 2.6.30 works fine. Is this a problem of 2.6.31 ?

    /lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/
That is very strange... it's not booting into .31
It's an install problem because that dir shouldn't be there after updating kernel26.
I know you said you installed from core, but was it a custom install? Did you change the PKGBUILD in anyway?
After installing .31, before rebooting do depmod 2.6.31-ARCH
    Then do mkinitcpio -p kernel26
Post the output of the second one.

  • How can we load a flat file with very, very long lines into a table?

    Hello:
We have to load a flat file with OWB. The problem is that each of the lines in the file might be up to 30.000 characters long (up to 1.000 units of information in each line, 30 characters long each)
Of course, our mapping should insert these units of information as independent rows in a table (1.000 rows, in our example).
We do not know how to go about it. We usually load flat files using table functions, but we am not sure that they will be able to cope with these huge lines. And how should we pivot those lines? Will the Pivot operator do the trick? Or maybe we should pivot those lines outside the database before loading them?
We are a bit lost. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Yes, well, we could define a 1.000 column external table, and then map those 1.000 columns to the Pivot operator… perhaps it would work. But we have been investigating a little bit, and we think that we have found a better solution: there is a unix utility called “fold”. This utility can split our 30.000 character lines in 1.000 lines, 30 characters long each: just what we needed. Then we can load the resulting file using an external table.
We think this is a much better solution that handling 1.000 columns in the external table and in the Pivot operator.
    Thanks for your help.

    -- Nilesh.

LD_LIBRARY_PATH doesn't always work well on linux. Try copying the library to /usr/lib and then refreshing the cache by issuing "ldconfig -v" and verify that your library has been catalogued. If your library needs to be located in another path, you may have to edit "/etc/ld.so.conf" prior to running ldconfig.

  • HT202213 how can i do sharing between devices with different IDs?

one of my kids has an ipod and an own apple ID and i would like to shara my own music with that device too.
i've tried logging it with my apple ID but got a message saying i would then not be able to share with my own devices for the next 90 days....??
i guess i'm doing something wrong.... appreciate any help!

Does he have his own computer to sync with. Is it separate from yours?
Then you could use Home Sharing to make sure both lots of content are the same on both machines.
He will have to authorise his machine with your Apple ID for any purchased music to be played
    Store > Authorise this computer
    Then set up Home Sharing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4620
When it is up and running you can import from 1 library to the other and then your son can sync whatever he wants from his own iTunes

  • Guest can't load shared files...

... from a AIR HTML component in a AFCS connected AIR app.
Ok it's kind of weird, I'm not sure someone already try this
    one :) , i explain :
We are working on a Air app whose allowing to share a "kind
    of file"...
To show this kind of file in Air, you have to load it in a
HTML file, and show it in a HTML component ( Air framework HTML
component, and actually it's for display PDF file... ).
Someone sends a file, and other participants receive file's
    url.
    The file's url is build with : sharedFileDescriptor.url +
    sharedFileDescriptor.name...
When i'm logged as owner, no problem, everything just work,
and my HTML component load the remote file (from the FileManager
folder on AFCS folder ) and show it correctly in the HTML component
( who use acrobat reader to display this "kind of file" :) ).
But there is the problem :
Only users logged as owners can load it correctly. When
guests are connected to the room and are trying to load the file,
even if the room.autoPromoteUsers is set to true, the HTML
component load the "Acrobat Connect HTML error page", whose
explains that the room is not active...
    Any ideas ?

    Hi ,
I got a chance to run the App Rick provided and go into the
depth of it.Here are my findings
    a) The Problem is not dev console. When you change the
configuration of a file group using dev console it actually change
the configuration , its just that the UI is not updated which has
been already fixed and will be updated in next drop.
    b) The reason Rick's example don't work is because of not
using the token value in navigateToUrl. If you look at the
FileSubscriber's download function it appends url+filename+token to
send the URLRequest. The way server verifies is if you are an Owner
, it will let you go through otherwise you need to have the token
with you(see in download function of FileSubsriber.as how we create
    the token).
    c) Even if you pass the complete url i.e. url+filename +token
, still navigateToUrl function has some issues for guests , we are
investigating that. However, you can get the downloaded file like
image(or any file uploaded) using any Image class or the loader
since you have the correct URL. I will copy the rick's updated
example with the changes you need to make which runs for the image
    case.
For the next release which will be coming in some weeks, we
plan to give users a new parameter in FileDescriptor class that has
the entire Url , so that you don't have to do the concatenation
work urself. We will also try to get this navigateToUrl issue
    resolved for guests.
Here are couple of things you can do now, if you are using
the FileSubscriber and FilePublisher instead of the FileShare Pod
itself, just call the fileSubscriber.download function. However, if
you are using FileShare as in rick's example, you will have to do
concatenation with token and use loader class(or image if its an
    image) to get the file.
I am attaching the rick's code with this reply that will make
things more clear. One more info, if you are creating FileShare pod
in code, the node that gets created is default_FileSharePod which
is the default sharedID of FileShare. So, its best always to have
fileShare a sharedID when you create it ( as in my attached code)
and call subscribe on it as a best practice.
Please let me know if there are issues.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Hironmay Basu

  • Can't load my own pages with .htaccess protection

    It's very strange.
First time I noticed that problem was on a project page who I created. The page is not for the public access, so I decide to protect it simply with an htaccess file and it works without any problems for a long time in Safari until that point who I make a little mistake by typing the username or password and let Safari safe this wrong information. Since them I was not longer able to reach the page with Safari, but still with other browsers.
So I can life with that, because it's not an importend page who I visit each day.
But now I have a nother page who deliver the same problem. The logininfos are safed by Safari and no longer access since two days now. Before it works perfect.
The only real change who I do was to fix the permissions of a folder inside the Safari resources. The "German.lproj" folder. I do this, because I was not able to open the private settings in Safari. Each time who I click in the settings on the private option, Safari crashes. Anyway, since I add my profile to the permissions Safari works fine.
I can't belive that this change is the source for the problem. I try to delete all related pagestuff in my keychane of OS X Snow Leo (10.6.8), repair the keychane and repair the permissions over the Disc Utility. I also remove my complete Safari profile in the Library to reset Safari, delete the preferences, delete Safari with Clean App and reinstall it, but still can't access my pages with a htaccess protection.
All other pages working without any problem. All the pages are still available with other browsers.
Anyone an idea what I can try next?

OK, after a long time I solved my problem with the htacces and password protected pages.
But let me explain a bit more, why it need so much time.
After I post here at the board, I solved the problem over a simple resetting of Safari over the menu. After I do that, I got the login-window back.
But for some strange reason I got the problem back after a longer time. And now I got the idea to look a bit deeper, what can happen. I open my Console from OS X and take a view on "All announcements". Now I hit enter in Safari to open the page who have a htaccess protection and I got some error results. On of them was this here:
    22.01.12 15:48:32
    Safari[1062]
Unable to read contents in the Interface Builder file at path /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Safari.framework/Resources/German.lproj/Authe nticationPanel.nib due to error: Die Datei „AuthenticationPanel.nib“ konnte nicht geöffnet werden, da Sie nicht die Zugriffsrechte haben, um sie anzuzeigen..
This message contain some german infos, so let me translate the last part.
The file „AuthenticationPanel.nib“ can't be open, because you have not the right permissions.
This error message looks like the big goal for me. I open this file-directory and mark the "German.lproj" folder to open the information panel for this folder. Now I go to the permission area, hit the "plus" button and add my profile / user to the permissions with a read and wrote permission. My new settings I transfer to all subfolders.
Now the final test in Safari. I open the URL again and, tadaaaa, it works very well now.
This is the same solution who I do before (see my first text on this posting) for the german.lproj folder. It looks like that Apples software like the Disc-Utility ignore the german folders around fixing the permissions or after an update or if you have trouble with the permissions.
Anyway... This two manual fixings bring my access back and I'm now happy :-)
