Can't make comments editable on template child pages

Is there a way to make comments editable on template child pages. When making editable regions, comments are not included. I need to make comments editable on child pages. How do I do this.
Thank you,
Jim

Open your Template.dwt file.  Add an editable region around your comments section.
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="comments" -->
<p>Comments go inside here...</p>
<p>Comments go inside here...</p>
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
Save your template.  Allow DW to update your child pages.

  • How can I make comments Editable for the users?

    Good day,
How to give edit rights for  the user to edit his comment?
If anyone can point me to a tutorial on how to do this or even give me a few tips, would be greatly appreciated!.
    Thanks

I think we need a bit more information. Most importantly:
    #1 Edit comments where?
#2 What technologies are you using? (PHP, Cold Fusion, etc)
#3 A link to actual site would be most helpful

why can I make comments on some documents but but not others?

If the PDFs were made from scanned (bitmap) images, they would have no selectable text, and you couldn't add comments to those.

  • Flash Video in template child pages

I have created templates with editable regions for my
websites. When I try to insert a Flash video file (.flv) it wants
to put code in the header region and body region. I have tried
erasing the editable areas, making the entire header an editable
area, making the entire site an editable area. I've tried looking
on Google and the Dreamweaver Developers section (there is a link
to an answer but the link is broken). I unfortunately only have
Dreamweaver 8. If this problem is fixed in CS3 I'd be happy to go
to Kinkos and rent a machine. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Here's how you will have to manage this.
When you insert a Flash video on the page, several things
    happen -
    1. DW inserts a link to a javascript file in the head of the
    page.
    2. If you elect to check for Flash versions, DW inserts a
    call to that
javascript in the <body> tag of the page.
    3. DW then inserts a javascript call to the file (in #1) on
    the page at the
location where the Flash is to appear.
In a Template child page -
    1. The head region must have an editable region in it, so
    that the link can
    be inserted.
    2. The Flash check call will fail to be written to the body
    tag, since that
    is LOCKED by the template.
    3. The javascript will be written to the body of the page
    where you
    inserted the Flash.
Thus, 2 of the 3 elements should work fine.
My suggestion? Do it again, and do not select the check for
    Flash version -
    that should work for you.

How can I make a backup of my iWeb page? Is iWeb also disappearing on June 30?

Here are some Apple help sheets about backing up your files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1813
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1105
And I found this one written by an independant guy very thorough and helpful:

iWeb is not going away, but I would be skeptical about how much longer Apple keeps it around.
If you are looking for a new place to host your website, I use and would recommend Little Oak (www.littleoak.net).  They are a Mac hosting company, and are even offering a discount right now for iWeb users (http://www.thewhir.com/web-hosting-news/web-hosting-sales-and-promos-roundup-jun e-29-2012)

  • I can't make an editable template in dreamweaver CS5 help!

Here is my problem. I insert an editable region, and that works just fine. However, when trying to create a page from this template, I can't edit the CSS. Normally, I click the area of the CSS I want to edit, and go to modify>templates>make attribute editable. When I create a page, nothing is editable. I'm lost.
Here is the code I'm using so far: (I have not added a 'make attribute editable' in this code yet)  Thanks!

  • How can I make an editable pdf file from Indesign?

I have created a Indesign dealer catalog for my company and exported it into a interactive PDF for the Engineers to use when helping a customer with ordering. Now they would like to be able to edit the PDF with notes whenever they want. How can they do this?

PDFs are not designed to be editable. Your engineers can make comments using Adobe Reader without any extra steps provided they use the highlight and sticky note comments. If you want them to have access to the full range of comment markup you will need to use Acrobat to apply extended rights to the file.

  • Can I insert comments into RTF Templates?

I'm using Oracle XML Publisher Template Builder for Word, Version 5.6 Build 45.
The RTF template I'm working on has grown to be quite complex, and I would like to include some documentation on the template, so that other people who might pick up the work after me know what was happening.
Is there any way to insert comments into the template, in the same way as is possible for e.g. in SQL? I tried to insert a Word Comment, but that generates errors.
I suppose the alternative is to document logic decisions etc. in a separate document.
    Thanks

  • Can you make a Mail account template in MacMail for other e-mail providers like Google, etc?

I have my own website and I wantto use it's email feature. I have set up many mailboxes  and will probably do more. Apple has done a great job making mail templates for Yahoo, Google, Apple. etc. mail accounts. I was wondering if once I set up one for my mail account, can I ise it for a template for other mail acconts as I have to redo them all from POP to IMAP.
    Thanks.

Can't see what Layout mode could possibly offer that you don't have in Word Processing mode.
Tried using centre tabs? You are using tabs, and not just hammering away at the spacebar?

  • Editable regions in child page

    Hi all.
    Dreamweaver 8.
I have a template with two editable regions, Header and Body.
I have a new page, and I want to apply the template.
I am prompted to move the content to the new regions. Is my
new child page supposed to have editable regions with the same
name? If I try to do this, I am prompted to create a new template.
If I apply the template and move all of my new content to the
'body' region, it all disappears. If I move all of it to the Header
region, it is all there. I've tried every combination and only the
one works. I've seen a lot of discussion about having the regions
named in the child page, but don't understand that bit yet.
    Ty in advance.

  • Fireworks menu in template child pages

Hi, I'm redoing my site with templates. I made a pop-up menu
in Fireworks, and put that in the locked region in a template. I am
applying that template to some child pages in a few folders under
the main site folder. The menu was working fine before, but I
changed the Fireworks menu file, and put that in the template and
saved it and updated all pages that use that template. After doing
that, the menu pops up, but the buttons aren't right. They're just
squares of color instead of the gif buttons that Fireworks will let
you do. Also, the arrows on the pop-up menus that lead to the sub
menu aren't there. I think an "x" just shows up instead.
Does anybody have any suggestions about this? Thanks!

I read that article. Very interesting..... those turds at
Crackholemedia..... I also checked out those other links to other
options. Thanks for those. I was really liking how my menu was
looking in Fireworks.... Any idea how to make my dropdown buttons
    look like this?:

Any comments on using Flash (or Dreamweaver, or anything else
without spending money, since I already have these programs
anyway... the turds...) to make a menu?

  • Unable to insert .flv Template Child Pages

Unable to insert .flv Flash video in template pages
When you attempt to insert a Flash Video file (.flv) into a
child page created from a Dreamweaver template, you see the
following error message: "Making this change would require changing
code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will
    be discarded."
The Adobe recommended solution: “ 1. Make a parent
template page that already contains the Flash Player detection
code. 2. Insert the Flash Video into the child page created from
the template, without the Flash Player detection code. To do this,
uncheck the "Prompt users to download Flash Player if necessary"
checkbox in the Insert Flash Video dialog box.”
This solution does not work. It doesn’t work because
the checkbox is grayed out - it is impossible to “…
uncheck the "Prompt users to download Flash Player … checkbox
    What Can I do?
I want to uncheck that grayed out “Prompt” box.
    How can I do that?

I am unable to duplicate what you are describing.
When you go to insert the flv, you Insert/Media/Flash
    Video... and the box
    is grayed out?
The unchecking of the box solves the problem, why yours is
    doing that I dont
understand. I assume you are in an editable region in the
    child?

  • Can you make a DIV appear/fade on page load instead of the listed events?

Does anyone know if there's a way to have a specific DIV fade
in when the page loads? I know how to do it with a click or mouse
over, but the behavior panel won't let me change the event to
onLoad. It says that's an invalid event for the DIV tag. I found a
javascript code that makes the DIV appear when the page loads and
it work...until I tried to add other Spry behaviors. Then it
refused to fade in. I can provide that code if it helps.
    Thanks!

Thanks for the speedy response. But your answer went right
over my head. I'm using Dreamweaver and a complete novice in
javascript or coding...for now. (But I'm taking classes, so there'
    hope for me yet.)
When you say "use SpryDOMUtils.js" is that a script I need to
    find, reference, load?
Maybe I should post this question on the Dreamweaver since
    I'm so ignorant about coding?
