Cant manage to select a row in a t:dataTable

I use a tomahawk dataTable to list a collection of objects called dmex in dmexTable.jsp
When I select one row to edit details in the next page dmexDetails.jsp I systematically get the last entries of my table.
In debug mode I could find out that JSF/MyFaces iterates through the whole list instead of selecting only the entry I clicked on.
Here is my code of dmexTable.jsp where #{dmexTable} is a backingBean of dmexTable.jsp and #{dmexBean} the backingBean of dmexDetails.jsp
<h:form id="formDmexTable">
<t:dataTable id="dmexTable"
          cellspacing="3"
          cellpadding="3"
          styleClass="orders"
          headerClass="ordersHeader"
          rowClasses="evenRow,oddrow"
          var="rowDmex"
          value="#{dmexTable.dmexList}"
          preserveDataModel="true" >
<h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
     <h:outputText value="Id" id="columnDmexId" />
     </f:facet>
     <h:outputText value="#{rowDmex.dmexId}" id="rowDmexId" />
</h:column>
<h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="#{msgsDmex.application}" id="columnApps" />
</f:facet>
<t:commandLink id="selectDmexApps" action="go_to_dmexDetails" immediate="true">
<h:outputText value="#{rowDmex.application}"
id="rowApplication" />
<t:updateActionListener property="#{dmexBean.dmexId}"
value="#{rowDmex.dmexId}" />
</t:commandLink>
</h:column>
 some others properties in other columns
</t:dataTable>
</h:form>
Herebelow the code of my RequestScope ManagedBean #{dmexTable} containing a property dmexList and a hibernate Class called dmexManager that gives access to the dataBase :
public class DmexTable{
private ArrayList dmexList ;
private bsa.integration.service.DmexManager dmexManager;
public ArrayList getDmexList() {
dmexList = (ArrayList) dmexManager.findPoolList(new Dmex())
return dmexList;
public void setDmexList(ArrayList dmexList) {
     this.dmexList = dmexList;
SOFAR EVRYTHING WORKS FINE ; I can list my dmex in the dataTable dmexTable !
Here below is the code of my JSP view called dmexDetails.jsp where #{dmexBean}is still the backingBean of the view :
<h:form id="formDmexIdentification">
<t:saveState value="#{dmexBean.dmexId}" />
<h:panelGrid columns="2">
<h:outputText value="id" styleClass="sorti" />
     <h:outputText value="#{dmexBean.dmex.dmexId}"styleClass="sorti"/>
     <h:outputText value="#{msgsDmex.application}" styleClass="sorti" />
<h:inputText value="#{dmexBean.dmex.application}"
size="6" styleClass="ent" required="true" id="inputApplication" />
<h:message for="inputApplication" styleClass="mess" />
Herebelow the code of my RequestScope ManagedBean #{dmexDetails} containing the t:saveState property dmexId and the hibernate Class dmexManager that gives access to the dataBase :
public class DmexBean {
private int dmexId ;
public int getDmexId() {
     return dmexId;
// this is the method that JSF/MyFaces iterates through when clicking on one commandLink of the Table !!!
public void setDmexId(int _rowDmexId) {
if (_rowDmexId > 0)
dmex = getSimpleDmex(_rowDmexId);
if (dmex == null) {
return;
private Dmex getSimpleDmex(int _id) {
dmex = (Dmex)dmexManager.findOneId(new Dmex(),_id);
return dmex;
I cant figure out why clicking on the command Link JSF/MyFaces does not simply send back the selected dmexId !
May someone give a hint ? I have nomore Idea since my implementation seems exactly similar to the MyFace example I used ..

Hello !
Okay, I could see the message you logged a few days before about a similar issue you identified as a Bug ... then after upgrading MyFaces to Core 1.1.3 + Tomahowak 1.1.2 I could make my test case work.
The further issue I am facing now is that in my Detail view dmexDetails.jsp when I try to POST the form I got for each inputText field the following message :
"inputText field id : Error during model data update "
I "googled" on it without success ... I am still investigating !

  • Add selected table row value to PageFlowScope so I can access in taskflow

    Hi all,
    Running into a problem getting a value from a selected ADF table row to a taskflow that is displayed as an inline popup. Here's the scenario. I have a view which displays a table. When I click on an edit btn I display my taskflow as an inline popup. What I would like to do is take the currently selected table row, pull off lets say the row name value and pass it to my taskflow for display. I've tried settting this value inside a mbean when I click the edit btn using:
            AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getPageFlowScope().put("editTargetNameSource", targetName);
            String tmpClear = (String) AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getPageFlowScope().get("editTargetNameSource");Which seems to get set but when I attempt to grab this value using EL inside my taskflow jspx page it looks to not be set.
    <af:outputLabel value="Selected Row" id="ol1"/><af:outputText value="#{pageFlowScope.editTargetNameSource}"It seems like pageFlowScope for my popup taskflow != pageFlowScope for the page my table lives in. I've tried setting this as a input page param but I have a feeling I'm missing something. I'd like to be able to set this value inside my bean when a user clicks the edit btn and then display this value in my taskflow popup.
    Any help is appreciated,
    -Wraith

    Thanks for the links Timo. I still must be missing something here. In the vids you linked it looked like he was using regions to pass params from main page to a taskflow; setting a param on child taskflow (causes param to be required when dragging into main page). So I think I understand I add an expected param to my taskflow which somehow will be set by my main page. The part I'm missing is from my main page how can I get the selected table row value and set it in the expected pageflowscope param that my taskflow is expecting?
    I've tried several things:
    1) Using managed bean associated with my main page; setting param inside the bean on main page btn click and then try accessing this mbean param (couldn't access this value as different pageflowscope I believe)
    2) Programmatically setting PageFlowScope as I linked in previous post.
    3) using setPropertyListener I can set a static value setting value in pageflowscope.start and then inside adfc.config for the task set start value to another value expected by the taskflow page. This seemed to work but I can't figure out how to do the programmatic version of this using the currently selected row and its value.
    One who seems to be missing something,

  • How can I display "detailStamp" facet selectively for rows in a table ?

    Hi,
    My JDEV version is Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0
    I am trying to display "detailStamp" facet selectively .
    If I read api in link below
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/apirefs.1112/e17488/oracle/adf/view/rich/component/rich/data/RichTable.html
    Use the "detailStamp" facet on the Table to include a collapsable content area for each table row. Please note that the height of the open detail area will be a set height based on the height of the detailStamp component. Adding a component that changes in height (like showDetail or panelBox) will by default produce strange results when the detailStamp component's height changes.
    Detail Stamp can be selectively displayed for rows in the table by EL binding the "rendered" attribute of the "detailStamp" facet to "true" or "false". The EL binding can contain references to the table "var" attribute since during rendering it will be executed in the context of the row. Disclosure icon is displayed only for rows which have rendered="true".
    I can see that i can achieve it by setting rendered property for that facet. BUT this property is not available in Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi Frank.
    Thanks for your quick reply .
    But I am using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0 . In this version the property RENDERED of f:facet name="detailStamp" is NOT allowed.
    Edited by: user13764942 on Feb 7, 2013 5:48 AM
    Put in another way , I want to render the "detailStamp" facet selectively for rows , so for that I need the RENDERED property of "detailStamp" facet. This property is ONLY available in Jdev version 11.2 . I am using Jdev 11.1.1.5.0 so I need some alternative to RENDERED property as this property is NOT available in Jdev 11.1.1.5.0.
    Please suggest some way to achieve this behaviour of displaying "detailStamp" facet selectively ....
    Thanks!

  • How can I get the selected rows from two ALV grids at the same time?

    I have a program that uses two ALV grids in one dialog screen. I'm using the OO ALV model (SALV* classes).
    The user can select any number of rows from each grid. Then, when a toolbar pushbutton is pressed, I'd have to retrieve the selected rows from both grids and start some processing with these rows.
    It is no problem to assign event handlers to both grids, and use the CL_SALV_TABLE->GET_SELECTIONS and CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS methods to find out which rows were marked by the user. Trouble is, this only works when I raise an event in each grid separately, for instance via an own function that I added to the grid's toolbar. So, I can only see the selected rows of the same grid where such an event was raised.
    If I try to do this in the PBO of the dialog screen (that contains the two grids), the result of CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will be empty, as the program does not recognize the marked entries in the grids. Also, an event for grid1 does not see the selected rows from grid2 either.
    As it is right now, I can have an own button in both grid's toolbar, select the rows, click on the extra button in each grid (this will tell me what entries were selected per grid). Then, I'd have to click on a third button (the one in the dialog screen's toolbar), and process the selected rows from both grids.
    How can I select the rows, then click on just one button, and process the marked entries from both grids?
    Is it somehow possible to raise an event belonging to each grid programmatically, so that then the corresponding CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will work?
    Thanks.

    Hello Tamas ,
    If I try to do this in the PBO of the dialog screen (that contains the two grids), the result of CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will be empty, as the program does not recognize the marked entries in the grids. Also, an event for grid1 does not see the selected rows from grid2 either.--->
    is it possible to  have a check box in each grid  & get the selected lines in PAI of the screen ?
    regards

  • How can I select the row after a cfgrid refresh?

    I have a form that is bound to a cfgrid.  The grid is populated from a database.  When you navigate in the grid the data displayed in the form changes to match the selected row.  I can edit the data in the form and update the database.  After updating the data I refresh the cfgrid, which then displays the updated data.
    Unfortunately the cfgrid always highlights the first row, row 0, after a refresh.  I want to highlight the same row that was highlighted when the data was edited and saved.  Can anyone advise as to how I can do that?
    I have tried setting a listener when the grid is initiated that responds whenever the store is refreshed and triggers the function refreshSelection():
    g.getStore().on('load', refreshSelection) ;
    Before the form data is saved, the row number is stored in selectedRow[0].  When the grid is refreshed, refreshSelection is run:
    function refreshSelection() {
    if (0 >= selectedRecords.length)
         return;
    alert('Selected row is Row ' + selectedRecords[0] ) ;
    g.getSelectionModel().selectRow(selectedRecords[0]) ;
    selectedRecords[0] = 0 ;
    The alert shows the correct row number each time, but highlighting the last row viewed works intermittently, and only if the alert line is active.  If I comment out the alert, this fails every time, with row 0 being highlighted.  selectedRecords[0] is reset to 0 after the attempt to select the row so that navigation through the grid, such as choosing "Next Page," will properly highlight the first row of the page rather than the last row number that was edited.

  • Can i get a number of rows in the select list??

    Hello~
    I am studying the "oracle call interface". but i don't know much about oci.
    Anyway i want to know that how can i get a number of rows.
    for example, there is a source code of the number of colums in the select list.
    The following is a list of DB(example)
    /*DB table*/
    ID NAME CODE ID
    1 A 1 A
    2 B 2 B
    /*source*/
    err = OCIAttrGet ((dvoid *) stmhp, (ub4)OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid*)
    &parmcnt, (ub4 *) 0, (ub4)OCI_ATTR_PARAM_COUNT, errhp);
    /*result*/
    The Column is 4. (ID, NAME, CODE, ID)
    So, i think that the row is 3 (ID, 1, 2) in the DB table.
    Simply, Can i get a number of rows in the select list??
    for example,
    err = OCIAttrGet ((dvoid *) stmhp, (ub4)OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid*)
    &parmcnt, (ub4 *) 0, (ub4)OCI_ATTR_RAW_COUNT, errhp);
    I'm trying to get the number of row count. but i can't find.
    Please, could you let me know that how can i get the number of row count.
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your reply.
    we are tested the source code by reply.
    The following is the test source code.
    /*source code*/
    strcpy (szStatement, "SELECT * from DB_TABLE");
    OCIStmtPrepare(gpOCIReadStmHandle, gpOCIErrHandle, szStatement,
         strlen(szStatement), OCI_NTV_SYNTAX, OCI_DEFAULT);
    OCIStmtExecute(gpOCISvcHandle, gpOCIReadStmHandle, gpOCIErrHandle,
         0, 0, 0, 0, OCI_DEFAULT);
    /* get a number of rows count , Reply : prajithparan*/
    OCIAttrGet((dvoid *)gpOCIReadStmHandle, OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid *)&nRowCount, NULL, OCI_ATTR_ROW_COUNT, gpOCIErrHandle))
    But There is a problem of the result value.
    The result value is 0. It's mean that the row count is 0. and then we are using the all of fuction is succeed.(return value)
    I don't know what is problem. Please let me know about the problem and solution.
    Thank you.

  • How can i use the highlight row to select the row on a report

    The row is highlighted as I move the mouse how can I select this row without having to make a column a text link.
    thanks in advance

    Hi
    Try this out.
    Create or alter a report template. In the 'Before Each Row' section paste:
    <tr onMouseOver="cOn(this);" onMouseOut="cOut(this);">
    In the 'After Each Row' section paste:
    </tr>
    In the report page definition click on the page attributes and navigate to the HTML Header section. Paste the following script into this section:
    </script>
    <script language="JavaScript1.2">
    function cOn(td){
    if(document.getElementById||(document.all && !(document.getElementById))){
    td.style.backgroundColor="#cccccc";
    function cOut(td){
    if(document.getElementById||(document.all && !(document.getElementById))){
    td.style.backgroundColor="#ffffff";
    </script>
    In the report region navigate to the 'Layout and Pagination' section and select the report template you altered above.
    Now the report row will get highlighted when you mouse over. If you want to change colors, edit the color attributes in the javascript.

  • Can't get Lightroom Color Management to select custom profiles

    I can't get Lightroom Color Management to select custom profiles.
    - I select "other" in Profile,
    - a pop-up box shows me numerous profiles to choose from
    - I select a profile and the selection is highlighted
    - I press "OK" and the pop-up box disappears
    - but if I go back to the "Profile" selection line, only "Managed by Printer" is available.
    What's wrong here?
    Is the inability to select a profile the reason that prints from Lightroom look way to dark when I print them?
    Vick

    Oh, I'm on Windows, XP with SP2.
    The profiles are in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
    I used the .exe that was provided by Epson for installing the drivers.
    Nothing fancy, nothing different.
    For Lightroom, I installed it off CD, and got the 1.3.1 update off their Adobe site.
    Any clues there, to solve the puzzle?

  • Selection of rows in ALV grid (class CL_GRID_CATSXT)

    Hi all,
    The CATS transaction CATS_APPR_LITE is using the class CL_GRID_CATSXT, method GET_SELECTED_ROWS, to retrieve selected rows in the ALV report.
    The user/manager selects these rows to approve the work hours registered by his subordinates. He can only select and approve those rows that have been fully expanded, meaning he cannot select and approve total lines. (If he tries to do so, nothing happens).
    I have created a layout that shows only total lines per employee. Using this layout the manager should be able to select the total line for a particular employee and press the "Approve" button. In this way, I need to get a hold of the rows contained in the total line, meaning I need the row numbers of the actual rows which have been added up in the total line.
    Does anyone know how to do this...? As mentioned earlier, the CATS_APPR_LITE transaction is using class CL_GRID_CATSXT, method GET_SELECTED_ROWS.
    All helpful answers will be rewarded!
    Best regards,
    MV

    I guess method GET_SELECTED_ROWS returns the total lines when they are selected ?
    if so, you just have to do a LOOP on your internal table having same key fields as selected total line
