Can't open Mozilla FF in Program Files

I print the NY Times Crossword every night. Since I got my new computer (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, Firefox 3.6.10) my bookmarked Puzzle link causes FF to crash every time.
In this forum I thought I found the fix. It said to go to Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/Components. Then look for and delete "nsBrowserOpt.dll". However, when I got to Program Files/Components/Mozilla Firefox and tried to open it, I got a popup called XUL Runner, which stated: "Couldn't read application.ini
So I can't open the Firefox program at all in program files. What do do next, about both these issues?

Security Update 2007-004: can't open any MS Office programs & files.

I installed update this morning. Since then, I can't open any MS Office files and even programs. When I clicks the prograqms, it is jumping with icon but the program is not started (still Finder window).
Do you have any similar experience and know how to fix this?
Is this MS Office problem or OX security Update problem, or two jsut crashed?

Have just found this discussion group and now feel less incompetent. Have been unable to open any Office 2004 for Mac programmes for just over a week, and now cannot open the only other non Mac programme I have installed, which was working fine before (the Inland Revenue payroll software programme). Cannot get at half my archived e-mails which were in Entourage, although I also use .mac for my work e-mails which is fine. Have downloaded a demo spreadsheet programme to tide me over, and moved to using ilife which is good. But all the same - what is happening, and how can this be fixed? And if its happening to lots of us, surely either apple or Microsoft should give us a fix??
by the way, I am a new mac user, since May, and an enthusiastic convert until now!

In my program files there is a folder of Mozilla Thunderbird and a folder Mozilla thunderbird(14). Recently (13/1/15 and 11/1/15) an uninstall folder was automatically added to the former and latter Mozilla-folder.
Since then, I can't open Mozilla thunderbird anymore. Any suggestions, besides uninstall and reinstall?

If Reader ISN'T in the list of prpgrams to open with, click "Browse"
In the "Browse window" go to C/Program files [or Program Files (x86)]/Adobe/Reader 11/Reader
Select "AcroRd32.exe" and click "Open"
Make sure "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is checked and click "OK".

In Java 1.5, you can use the JVM's own monitoring APIs to examine what other JVMs are running on the system, and what applications they're running.
It's general and powerful, but complex. The socket/file/whatever approach is cleaner, and probably more suited to your usage.
Don't bother trying to use the Windows task manager for this sort of thing. You have to write messy native code, and it isn't reliable after all that anyway.

It seems a little frustrating not knowing what happened to my order and not being able to contact anyone. Is all this usual with Adobe or are they just having technical problems this week?

Reinstall 10.6 again, but this time hold c boot off the 10.6 and erase the ENTIRE internal drive.
You do this by selecting the drive makers name and size on the left hand side, not the slightly indented partition underneath it.
If you erase and install 10.6 only into a parittion, say Macintosh HD, the you still have the hidden Lion Recovery Partition on the drive and it appears you already have 10.7
In the MAS, hold option and click Purchases to redownload Lion
FYI, you don't need to install 10.6 to reinstall 10.7, 10.7 can be reinstalled via the Lion Recovery, Command r boot.

In what file type and compression format did you download the YouTube content? I.e., to avoid such issues, you would normally download the source files as content that is natively compatible with your target player or convert incompatible file type/compression format combinations to files that are compatible with your targeted media player.

I can't open a 32-bit HDR file made with Photoshop HDR. I saved the file in Photoshop with the maximum compatibility-option on. In Lightroom the file doesn't show a preview and an exclamation mark in the upper right corner. Anybody an idea why and how to solve this problem?

As I said, the files must be saved in TIFF format in order for LR to recognize them.

I can't open any of my programs

When I turn my laptop on, it takes a long time to boot and when it does, even though I can move my cursor around, I can't open any of the programs. I couldn't even turn it off properly. I had to just shut it down by holding the power button. Any suggestions? I'm really frustrated.
BTW, it started happening when I was using my Verizon Wireless USB device. The program went haywire and wouldn't shut down.
