Can't open my iphone video on my laptop

Hello, I record some video by using my iPhone 5. A while ago, I transfered those videos to my laptop. However, when I tried to open those video today, it shows 0 minute and I can't play them. I checked the size of the video. They are still quite big. I don't know what happened. Could anyone help me to solve the problems? Thank you so much!!

its something that apple really should consider in my opinion. besides, its not like youtube gets disabled when you don't have a wireless network around

It sounds like you to 5 separate videos. If you start recording, then stop it, then start it again, you will have 2 videos. Not 1. As for splicing them together, you will need a video editing package for your PC. I don't know if Windows Movie Maker (or whatever they're calling it now) can handle this or not. On a Mac, I'd say just use iMovie.

Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?

Can't open a .mts video file

I used to be able to open any video file just by double clicking on it's icon, usually opens MPEG Streamclip if it isn't supported by Quicktime. However, now I can't open a .mts video because it says I need MPEG 2 - Playback Component installed. I used to have that but it's disappeared for some reason. Is there another way to open a .mts video file?
