Can't print on my all-in-one 6413 two consecutive prints.

The printer is connected to a wireless router with a network cable.
I'm printing from a Windows 7 laptop connected wirelessly to the router, no security key only MAC address.
No problems when surfing.
Every time I send a print or more than one I have to troubleshoot the printer, even when the first print comes OK the second attempt fails and I need to troubleshoot again, turn off/on the printer etc.
Removed and reinstalled driver using the latest version on the internet without luck.
Installed it as a network printer.
After initial install the test page comes out just fine, no problems whatsoever.
Although it supports wireless printing I'm using it as a network printer not a wireless connection.
Any idea what may cause this? Why the initial setting is not saved?

  • Can't scan from 5610 all in one front panel

I have an HP5610 all in one installed on my Dell Vostro 200 with E6550 dual core processor, XP SP3 home OS. I noticed the problem when I tried to scan from the front panel of my 5610 and the orange exclamation light started blinking. The display said "No Scan Options". I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it said to set the front panel scan destinations. I selected the default settings and closed the HP Direc.exe. When I opened the HP Direc.exe and looked for the panel destination that I set, I saw that they did not save. I can scan just fine using the HP software and have been doing so for many years. I now am wondering if I have had this issue all along, especially since I never remember trying to scan from the front panel of my 5610 until the other day.
I have done just about everything the Printing and Scan Doctor told me to do. I have shut down my 5610, unplugged it for several minutes, plugged it back in, removed the all in one program and reinstalled from the HP website. What is strange...I have the 5610 software installed on a Dell 3000 Dimension I have in a home network and it works perfectly. I'm seriously thinking about moving the 5610 in the room with my Dimension 3000 and buying a (print only) printer for my Vostro 200. I can work around this but I can't stand to have something not work correctly with a very good computer. Please, no comments on my preferred operating system. I am not upgrading, and as I said, this all in one works perfectly with a PC built in 2004. And contrary to belief, I am still getting security updates on a biweekly basis from Microsoft. One day last week I got 8 in one day. Thanks all for all of your excellent help!

  • I can't fax using HP all in one fax

I'm having trouble trying to print using HP 7410 all in one fax. When I select the printer (HP fax), the blue "Print" button changes to "Send Fax Now" , but the button turns to inactive (I can't click on it). Besides that, the "Cancel" button next to it shows cut in half.
I also have a Powerbook G4 and the same thhing happens.
I've tried Applecare with no luck. Can anyone help me to solve that ?

Which HP printer do you have?

  • Can't get HP 8620 all-in-one to scan to computer. Advice?

    I just bought a new printer/scanner/fax - HP 8620 all-in-one.
I have Mac OSX 10.9.3 and the most up to date drivers/software from the HP website (april 2014).  I have connected the printer via ethernet cable to our wireless router.
I have installed as per intructions.  When I go to HP utilities, I have been able to set up "scan to email" but not "scan to computer". Keeps saying that "scan to computer" software is not available and that I need to go to hp support website to download the latest version (which I already have).
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no help.
    Any advice?

You can't use the scan button on the printer. You have to start the scan from OS X.

  • Can I use a Sony all-in-one PC/TV as a second display for the G5?

I'm trying to build a pro music system out of my G5, which means that it should only have music software on it. I have an aluminum 20" display hooked up to my Radeon x800T video card, which has one DVI and one ADC jack on it. A pro music rig needs two 20" displays, at least, to display all the mixers, processors, instruments, etc. I have to use a PC for my financial stuff and need a new one. The new Sony Vaio VGC-VA 11G is their version of the i-Mac G5, it's all-in-one plus it is a 20" LCD TV with S-video and composite video in, not VGA in. If I get an ADC-to-VGA adaptor and hook that up to a VGA-to-S/video & composite adapter (all on ebay!), can I plug the output of the G5 to one of the video ins on the Sony Vaio and then use the Sony Vaio's TV as the second display (not simply mirroring the Apple display)? I guess it would be the same as using an LCD TV as a second, non-mirroring display. If it works, it's going to be cool!

  • Refilled color cartridge can't conform to F2120 all-in-one

In a nutshell, I got my colored ink jet cartridge refilled and it doesn't seem to conform to my HP F2120 all-in-one printer.
    A more detailed description:
*When I attach the printer cable to my computer, an orange light flashes beside of the image on the printer of an ink drop (just above where it says "Resume").
*Also, a box pops us saying that it sensed a new cartridge and basically requests the cartridge to be aligned. It's never happened this way before. A refilled cartridge always worked right away for me. If I put in a brand new cartridge, then automatically an alignment page would be printed out.
*Well, it asked for me to print an alignment page or "continue" if I already had a page; I select the first option and no page would be printed out. So I try again and I select the other option of "continue", then it asked to scan the alignment page and once scanned, I clicked "done".
*I try to print out a document and it won't happen. Sometimes when I attach the printer cable to the printer cable, I notice a box saying that there is a problem with this colored cartridge so "please refer to printer documentation" which doesn't provide any help in this situation.
*SO, has anybody experienced this problem before? Is it possible my old alignment pages don't work and that there is a way to print out a new alignment page? Any other troubleshooting idea or fix that could work? OR do I get a brand new cartridge?

    Hi shinygray
It's possible that the refilled ink has affected the reliability of the cartridge. You could try cleaning the cartridge as described here  . Did that solve it?

  • HP Photosmart 2610 All-in-One, Manual Two-Sided Printing, HP e-mail support Ticket no: 8028153835

HP e-mail support, Ticket no: 8028153835
I purchased my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer in 2005. It was previously installed on a HP Laptop, Windows XP, and all the features worked.
It is now on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32. When I tried installing the printer software CD, it wouldn't load because of the Vista OS. I then loaded the HP Photosmart 2600 series full feature printer driver (Vista OS compatible) from the following HP website link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-47754-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
Now I cannot get the Printing Preferences to allow Manually Duplexing (two-sided) printing. This option was available on the original printer software.
I've tried the solutions on: HP Image Zone Help / Two-Sided Prints which indicate:  Click the Finishing tab / In the Document options area / select the Print on both sides check box (this box is not available).
When I run the printer from the Control Panel as Administrator, the printer Properties / Device Settings show Manual Duplexing: Enabled.  When I go to the printer Properties / Advanced / Printing Defaults, neither the Finishing / Print On Both Sides check box is available nor will the Printing Shortcuts tabs allow the Print On Both Sides option to appear (only shows Print On Both Sides: Off).
HP e-mail support told me to install this patch to correct the problem:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-69848-1&cc=us&lc=en&...
When I try installing the patch, it won't load because it wants the original CD software. So I'm back to my initial problem of trying to load the original printer software that won't load because the CD is for Windows XP OS. I am at an impasse between the Software CD that I have, and what is available on the HP website.
    What is your solution?

Also, if it were, do you download the driver?
The driver is supplied through Windows Update.  Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, then select Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to update the list, then the Deskjet 6500 series will be a choice under HP (not Hewlett-Packard).

  • HP C3180 - Can I SCAN with this All-In-One connected to base station?

I bought a HP C3180 all in one Printer/Scanner/Copier and I have it connected to my Airport Extreme base station.
My question is, is there any way to Scan with this via the USB connection to the Airport Base Station ? Or do I have to connect it directly to the Mac?
    Thanks for any input
    Happy 4th,
    -Rob

    Robbie:
You will have to connect the device directly to the computer to scan. Scanning is not supported when connected to the Airport.
I've heard several explanations as to why this is the case. Some say it is a poorly written driver by the printer manufacturers and others say it is a limitaion of the Airport. I'm not sure which is correct but bottom line is, it doesn't work.
    Hope this helps.

  • New iMac, can't connect HP 1315xi all-in-one printer

iMac is Intel Core i3, 27", 3.2 Ghz processor speed - OS 10.6.4.
I've tried to install from disk several times, but can't get the printer driver installed. I Receive a message that the printer is 'currently being used by the user'''', you may not be able to use now. To use switch to user'''' & quite running HP apps'.
I've never had a problem using this printer on my G4 (previous computer). I don't know what 'user' they are referring to. I am the administrator, & I am logged in as such.
Do I need to check w/ HP, or Apple? Any suggestions? Workarounds? Thank you.

This is probably very simple. Open System Preferences-Print & Fax then highlight the printer on the left and click the - symbol below. This will uninstall it, then disconnect the USB cable. I would recommend doing a SMC and PRAM resets at this point. I will list instructions for that below. Next restart the computer and then plug in the printer. If the Mac doesn't see the printer and prompt you to install it then go back to Print & Fax preference click the + symbol and it should see the printer. From there it should be intuitive. If you still can't get it you have 90 days of free phone support with any new Mac, use it and AppleCare can probably help you get it connected. The phone number is in your owners manual.
    _SMC RESET_
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Unplug the computer's power cord.
    • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    • Release the power button.
    • Attach the computers power cable.
    • Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    _PRAM RESET_
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    • Turn on the computer.
    • Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    • Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    • Release the keys.

  • How can I get my canon all in one to scan in maverick

After upgrade to maverick and updating drivers, the scanner in my Canon mp990 won't work. MP navigator keeps crashing. I have tried adding the scanner part in as a seperat item in the list but that won't work . Frien has same Canon problem. Suggestions?

(Sorry, I mistyped a 5 instead of MP Navigator 3 in my prior response.)
And you saw the note about needing to set up Navigator Opener with Image Capture before scanning using the Operation Panel or Scanner Buttons OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9? I think that's if you want to use the scanner buttons directly on the machine while saving the scan to your computer, rather than scanning from the MP Navigator control screen on the computer, but it couldn't hurt.
I don't own an MP990 but my MG5320 began working on Mavericks once I downloaded and then installed all the updated software dmg files by double-clicking and the updated MP Navigator EX and EX opener.
    Previously, I was on OS X 10.6.8.
If everything is installed correctly, I think you should see both a Print and a Scan selection button above the printer description in , System Preferences, Hardware, Printers and Scanners
I have my current printer installed twice, once with USB and once with WiFi.  As you can see below, the USB version does NOT show the Scan button for the USB connection (because the printer is not connected via USB at the moment)
And as a last resort, you could try resetting the print system.
Note that ALL saved print 'Presets' you have configured will all need to be documented before re-setting and then re-created after resetting the print system, that's why it's listed as a last resort. I usually end up with a dozen or so Presets I create for the jobs I use all the time (Fast duplex, fast 2-up duplex, legal landscape, Matte Photo paper, 4x6 borderless, and so on, but I've recreated them so often that I remember most of the settings and don't have to write everything down.

  • Can my Macbook use an all-in-one connected to a Windows Home Server

Hey All, How do I connect my Canon Pixma MX700 to the Windows Home Server and be able to both Print and Scan from my Macbook over the network.

I just saw this post--it's for a different Canon than yours but it might point you in the right direction:
"The Canon MF6500 series uses the Canon UFR2 printer driver, which also supports the larger Canon multifunction copiers. If the printer is connected directly to the network via Ethernet, you use the More Printers > Canon IP (UFR2) option to enter the ip address of the printer. If the device is connected via USB, the Default browser view is used. In both cases, the user has no option to manually select the model in the print using menu. The driver communicates with the printer to determine which model it is.
If you have the printer connected via a Windows share, or to the USB port of a wireless router, the driver cannot 'see' the printer and will not complete the creation of the printer queue.
For a wireless router with Ethernet ports, you can connect the printer via Ethernet and then use the More Printers function. Of course the printer would require an Ethernet port for this to be possible, and I am not sure if you have such an option on the MF6500. If not, then you won't be able to use the printer the way you want.
FYI - the Apple Canon driver package is for the inkjet printers only.

    Hey @MarthaK ,
Thank you for joining us on the HP Forums today, hope you enjoy your time with us!

Have you downloaded the full feature software or installed the full feature software from the printer CD that came with it?

  • My desk top is larger than the screen, how can i make it fit all on one screen ?

My desktop does not fit on the screen.  It is set to the highest resolution, but when I move the mouse to the far right or left, there is more desktop that shifts over.  How do I correct this ?

Are you zoomed in at all? The default key for zooming should be Control. Hold Control and use the mouse scroll wheel (or 2 fingers on the trackpad) and zoom out. If that's not working, open System Preferences > Mouse (or Trackpad) > and set a "Zoom while holding..." default key and try it.
If that doesn't work, try using different resolutions in Display settings in System Preferences and see which one works.
