Can't read voltage with C/C++ examples...

Dear All
I am using the DAQ-Card PCI6024E. I am trying to make a voltage read by the example code (C/C++)but i don't manage to.When i run the .exe file that is created after compiling the example of continuous voltage acquisition using the internal clock of the card, it returns the number of samples taken, and the "Total number" which is continuing increasing until i press stop (with Enter key). The thing is that the program doesn't return the value of the voltage...Shouldn't it? Should i add something at the code?
Chris

The thing is that when i tried to put it inside the printf(), (printf("Acquired %d samples. Total %d\r, Voltage = %d",read, totalRead+=read, data), only received 0 value. I am sure that the computer can see the card because i make measurements by the MAX. I know that i must put the data somewhere else but after the printf() there is fflush(stdout)that erases the values...
Chris

  • Can't read Messages with Content-Type multipart/mixed

For many years I have used „QuickMail Pro“, as my favorite Mail-Client. Now I had switch to Apple Mail. I hoped, to be more compatible to other „modern“ Mail-Clients. So could it be, that Apple Mail can not read Messages from Type <multipart/mixed>? I only see the Header-Information and instead of the Message-Text there is only an Error-Message:
<Diese E-Mail kann aufgrund ihrer Formatierung nicht angezeigt werden. Bitten Sie den Absender, Ihnen die E-Mail erneut in einem anderen Format bzw. mit einem anderen E-Mail-Programm zu senden.

Did anyone know a simple Way, to read this Messages.
My old QuickMail has no Problem with this Type.

  • Can I measure voltage with a current module by removing the resistor?

I'm trying to measure a 0-10 VDC signal and I don't have any voltage throughput modules for my 2345 signal conditioning unit. I do have some SCC-CI20 (4-20mA) input modules that use a 249 ohm resistor. The output from these modules are 1-5 VDC as expected. I'm wondering if I remove the resistor do I not have a voltage module?
Please help, I need to get some measurements done soon.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes, you can use the CI20 module to read in voltages. Connecting a voltage source in parallel with R3 will result in the same potential drop to appear across the R3 resistor (see diagram attached).
Make sure that you DO NOT configure the CI20 in the Measurement and Automation Explorer, so you can read the raw voltage. Also DO NOT supply more voltage than 5V, or you might damage the module.
    Hope this helps,
    Lesley Y.

  • Can't read xml with a Reader?

    hi,
is it correct that the java Reader classes for reading character streams can't be used for reading XML (in one-pass)?
ie you don't know what encoding to read the file as until you've read the encoding attribute of the top level tag - and by then its too late - you'd have to start again?
(i think this is how xml parsers must work?)
    thanks,
    asjf

to be honest this was motivated by wanting a quick method to remove the DTD reference from an inputstream, without having to worry about whichever XML API was in use further down in the code (we've since settled on a particular API so this is no longer an issue)
I've been told there are 2 legitimate ways to do this (with the help of the parser)
    A) configure the parser (parser-implementation-dependent)
    B) in SAX, provide an EntityResolver
Last year I had opted for a gratuitous munge-around by manually reading the inputstream and removing the DTD reference
this year we've started working with chinese documents.. so the code doesn't work since I was using the platform-encoding rather than the xml-declared encoding
its pretty clear that (B) is the way to go but there are a few other technical hurdles to overcome first..
i'm beginning to think that /all/ quick-workarounds come back to bite you soon enough..

  • How can I read Arabic with ipages?

    Dear apple community,
I just purchased a MacBook Pro and I was hoping to have bought a reliable, well-running laptop for my MA studies. However, I found myself more in trouble than it happended with Windows ever in my life. How is it possible that I cannot read and write properly in Arabic with ipages??? I downloaded ipages, I can actually write Arabic but when I open a document written in Arabic (assignments e.g.) the letters are seperated, which makes reading Arabic really uncomfortable, almost impossible.
I downloaded OpenOffice which did run well either so I deleted it again. MacOffice does not provide Arabic either, so what I can do now? Sell my MacBook and buy a windows again??? :-((((  I am really desperate and I hope you can help me out!
    Best regards,
    Sarah
PS: I tried to use NeoOffice but it crashed, like OpenOffice. I thought crashing is something I got rid off with buying this Mac....

  • Can´t read blogposts with IE

All of a sudden (2 - 3 weeks ago) it was impossible to read my bloggposts with IE. IE does not read the full URL, but come up with ".....websted/Blogg/$link$". What´s the problem - and why problems now after a long period without problems? My site:
    http://web.me.com/terjeavner/Websted_/Blogg/Blogg.html
It works well with Safari and Firefox.

Welcome to the club! I've reported several threads about IE not seeing iWebsites, however no solutions:
I tried most of the sites on this tread below and most of them are partially invisible in IE. Most of them just don't know because they did not check their site with IE.
It's a huge problem. Only happened in '09, '08 worked fine. No word from Apple.

  • HT4539 Can I read books on my computer with iBooks? or only on a device?

My reaction to the latest scramble ("update") of iTunes is "GGGRRRRR." How would you like it if someone you barely know went into your house and rearranged all your furniture without telling you. And expected thanks.
Now there is an iBooks button. What is that? Well, I can't find out. Apparently the information should have been downloaded directly to my brain. In otherwords, apparently I am just supposed to KNOW. Like f2 is delete.
Well I missed that download and I've been trying to find my way around the new iTunes and figure out how to manage my playlists, which are primarily Audiobooks. It seems no one thought of that when they redesigned my world without telling me. OK. I DON'T HAVE AN IPAD. So shoot me, but don't assume I have one. I do have a powerful little MacBook that I carry with me always. So:
Can I read ebooks with iBook on the laptop, or is it exclusively for iPad, iPhone, or iTouch? If it WON'T WORK ON A COMPUTER, JUST SAY SO!!

You can't read ibooks on a computer (Mac or PC), only on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch via the iBooks app.
You can get the left-hand sidebar that used to be on previous versions of iTunes to show via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S), that might make the new version easier to navigate (it does for me anyway)

In your privacy policy, you state that the percentages and durations of books read are being collected to ensure that publishers can choose a metered price model. Prices which depends on the duration for which the book was read.
Give me an example of a company with such a price model? Are the information being collected even where the companies have not asked for the information, even when the metered price models are not being used?
Here is an extract från the privacy policy:
What information does Adobe Digital Editions collect and how is it used?
The following information may be collected when an eBook with DRM is opened in Adobe Digital Editions software. If an eBook does not have any DRM associated with it, then no information is collected.
User GUID: The User GUID is a unique value assigned in place of your User ID and is used to authenticate you.
Device GUID: The Device GUID is a unique value generated to identify your device. It is used to ensure that the eBook may be viewed on your device and that the number of devices permitted by the license is not exceeded.
Certified App ID: This ID represents the application that is being used to view the eBook, in this case Adobe Digital Editions. It is necessary to ensure that only a certified application may display an eBook. This helps to minimize piracy and theft of eBooks.
Device IP (Internet Protocol): This identifies the country you are located in when you purchase an eBook.  It is used by eBook providers for the enablement of localized pricing models. Only the country identifier of the Device IP is stored.
Duration for Which the Book was Read: This information may be collected to facilitate limited or metered pricing models entered into between eBook providers, such as publishers and distributors. These models are based on how long a reader has read an eBook. For example, you may borrow an eBook for a period of 30 days. While some publishers and distributors may charge libraries and resellers for 30 days from the date of the download, others may follow a metered pricing model and charge them for the actual time you read the eBook.
Percentage of the eBook Read: The percentage of the eBook read may be collected to allow eBook providers such as publishers to implement subscription pricing models where they charge based on the percentage of the eBook read.

  • Windows media Player suddenly can't read some of my MP3, and only with one user account !!!

    Hi!
    here is my problem:
I have a lot of MP3 in my W7 personnal computer at home. I read MP3 everyday with WMP and all was working fine, until some days ago. Some of my MP3 can't be read by WMP. I've looked at their properties, but there is nothing wrong, compared to others
    MP3 that I can read.
The "unreadable" files are correctly read by VLC. So they are not corrupted.
When I swtich to an other user, the same MP3 are read correctly with WMP. (Both usersd are admins)
My MP3 are présents on two computers at home. When I connect from my second computer with a
\\computername\c$, I can read these files. So the files are definitivly OK. But when I connect from my first computer to the second one, I can't read the MPS that have the same name! it's absolutely strange!
I've tried to uninstall WMP, to delete all files related to WMP in my Appdata folder, I have even tried the FixIt from Microsoft, but any of these steps were helpful.
I've copied the "unreadable" files from the Music folder to my desktop, allways the same issue.
I've disabled my Antivirus, but without any results. I've tried the system restore, idem.
My computer is running W7 32 bits, SP1, all updates installed regularly.
Please help me, I want to understand what has happened!!! :)

    Hi Yolanda,
the error message is inside a popup: (French trnaslation) "Windows media Player encountered an error and will close." I have the choice beetween "CLOSE" and "HELP ON THE WEB".
Of course the "help" is totally useless....
I don't see any troublshooter related to "media player". The only troubleshooter where I can choose Media player is for the "compatibility mode", so it's not helpful. On the "audio and devices" troubleshooter I see "read
a DVD with Windows Media Player", but that's not my case.
I've already done the last step. I copy the MP3 from my second computer to the "problematic" one, and I can't read my file. But, on the second computer, i can read this MP3 so the issue is ONLY when I try to read this file with my Windows session.
(in the same computer, with the administrator session, I can read all the files).
To put it in a nutshell:
on computer A logged as CEDRIC i can not read the mp3 called SUPERSONG (it's an example lol)
on computer A logged as administrator, I can read the SUPERSONG
on computer B logged as CEDRIC (other local account but same name) I can read the SUPERSONG mp3 that is present in the music Library (that is not the same file, but it's a file with the same name, and of crouse this is the same song). (all my MP3 are copied
from computer A to computer B in case of failure on one of the computers)
on computer A logged as CEDRIC, if I do a
\\computerB\c$\...\SUPERSONG I can not read it.
I know this is complicated to explain, but if I ask to the Microsoft community that is because I don't know what to do ;) ;) ;)

  • How can I read a binary file stream with many data type, as with AcqKnowledge physio binary data file?

I would like to read in and write physiological data files which were saved by BioPacs AcqKnowledge 3.8.1 software, in conjunction with their MP150 acquisition system. To start with, Id like to write a converter from different physiodata file format into the AcqKnowledge binary file format for version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3). It will allow us to read different file format into an analysis package which can only read in file written by AcqKnowledge version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3).
I attempted to write a reader following the Application Note AS156 entitled AcqKnowledge File Format for PC with Windows (see http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app156Fi
leFormat/FileFormat.htm ). Note the link for the Mac File format is very instructive too - it is presented in a different style and might make sense to some people with C library like look (http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app155macffmt/macff.htm).
I guess the problem I had was that I could not manage to read all the different byte data stream with File.vi. This is easy in C but I did not get very far in LabView 7.0. Also, I was a little unsure which LabView data types correspond to int, char , short, long, double, byte, RGB and Rect. And, since it is for PC I am also assuming the data to be written as little endian integer, and thus I also used byte swap vi.
Two samples *.acq binary files are attach to this post to the list. Demo.acq is for version 3.7-3.7.2, while SCR_EKGtest1b.acq was recorded and saved with AcqKnowledge 3.8.1, which version number is 41.
I would be grateful if you someone could explain how to handle such binary file stream with LabView and send an example to i

The reading of double is also straight forward : just use a dble float wired to the type cast node, after inverting the string (indian conversion).
    See the attached example.
The measure of skin thickness is based on OCT (optical coherent tomography = interferometry) : an optical fiber system send and received light emitted to/back from the skin at a few centimeter distance. A profile of skin structure is then computed from the optical signal.

    One more step...
    short are U16 integer
    double are double precision float
bool seem to be 2 bytes (= U16)
    char are string (variable length)
rgb are U16 integer, with high order byte = 0
rect should be 4 x U16 (top, left, bottom, right)
