Can't run eclipse under Linux OS

When I run eclipse_linux_gtk 3.1 under Linux ( kernel 2.6.7, gnome 2.8, sun jdk 1.5.0), I got the following error message.
What is wrong with it?How should I do to make it work?

  • Reduce number of running thread under Linux

    Hello,
How can reduce the number of running thread for coldfusion MX
7.0.2 server under Linux (they are almost 30; )

If you create a pool of any sort you will need a point where all requests for a resource from the pool must go via, and that piece of code could potentially become a bottle neck. But if you develop it well there will be a very small piece of code that is sychrnonized that will either put a request in a queue as there are no resources available, or it will provide the requested resource. As far as i am aware there is no safe way around this as you will have multiple threads requesting the resource.

it works under Windows like line 2. Line 3 works under Windows and Linux,
but Line 1 does not load a image under Linux ?!?
What is the reason for that? any help?

    Hi raychen and Company
ok, this is big trouble. I tested it under Windows XP SP3 and Fedora 12.
The Image URL does not work equal under both system
    Windows: url: "file:/
    Linux: url "file://
so much for the Java VM makes it system independable, NOT.
    Any workaround?

  • Running a jar vs running classes under Linux

I still can't figure this out.
I have a jar file that I am trying to run on my Linux server.
The jar file runs on my local machine.
If I try to run the jar file on the linux box I get -
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    javax/sql/ConnectionPoolDataSource
    at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
    at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:120)
If I un jar the file, all classes run correctly.
I have explicitly set the classpath from the command line on each try. Can anyone explain why it works one way and not the other?

Thank you for your help. HOW DO I DO THAT?
And, If I don't already have that information in the jar manifest, why does the jar work on my other machines?
And, I thought the reason you would jar the files up is to make it easy to port to other systems. If I have to change the manifest for each machine that doesn't make it very portable.
I am really frustrated with it and can't seem to find the solution.

  • I can not find firefox after it downloads. I keep getting a box that says I can't run it under this user, when I put in my user name and password it disappears

The download appears to work ,it extracts the files then a box comes up saying I can't run it as this user( with the name of my login),. gives me the option to check my login name or check administer with a password. I have tried both, I am the only administer on the computer. Using windows vista. I have searched and some of the things like turorials etc are on my computer but I can't get the actual browser to open and there is no shortcut for firefox. Currently I am using IE since chrome kept freezing up, so does IE.

Can you give me a screenshot of the User Accounts window in Control Panel?
Please create a screenshot by following the guide mentioned at [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]].

  • How can I install InDesign under Linux?

    Hello,
Because Microsoft stopped service for Windows XP, I changed the OS to Linux (currently Ubuntu to ease the change). A lot of software have alternatives under Linux, but I want to work with InDesign (currently CS6) furthermore. Is there a special (new) software version available directly from Adobe (I found only Win and Mac versions). Or is a script for Wine (or other emulator software) available? Thanks for any help or comment.
    Micha

adobe makes no linux version of any of its software.  you'll need to use a front-end like wine, WineHQ - Adobe InDesign

  • Re: Can I run JMF in linux without X

I've just installed JMF for Linux last night.
I have it working on a Win 98 system.
I "think" X-Windows loads the display drivers ? Not sure though.
I've an old ATI All-in-Wonder video capture card, and think I have to
upgrade from X Windows 11 Release 6, to a newer version to use the
new Linux Graphics drivers for my card under the Gatos project in www.Sourceforge.net.... ( For video-in capture, not necessarily video display )
Hope some of that vague information helps...
    regards,
    Owen

Yes, you can. However, you must have the Mac OS 9 System Folder installed on your hard drive.

  • Can't run apps. in Linux with USB-6008

I am using USB-6008 by installing nidaqmxbase-1.5.0 under RH 2.4-20 without any error.
(I installed package with the device unplugged).
    I run /usr/local/natinst/nidaqmxbase/bin/lsdaq and get:
        National Instruments DAQ Devices
        Found the following DAQ Devices:
        NI USB-6008: "Dev1"    (USB0::0x3923::0x717A::00E1D95B::RAW)
I run /usr/local/natinst/nidaqmxbase/examples/ai/acquire1Scan application using Dev1/ai0 and get:
DAQmxBase Error: Physical channel specified does not exist on this device.
Refer to the documentation for channels available on this device.
I do see 2 drivers are loaded. They are nipalk and nikal. But I don't know what is the driver associated with Dev1.
And I don't see any Dev1 node under /dev (assume it is a character driver).
    I need help.
    John

    John,
When you install the USB-6008 in Linux you need to have the daqmxbase firmware
loaded onto the device.  If this device was ever plugged into a windows
machine it is likely that the daqmx firmware was loaded onto the device.
If the daqmx firmware is on the device the USB-6008 will install, however you
will not be able to use the device.  In order to change the firmware back
to daqmxbase you need to plug the USB-6008 back into a windows machine and
install the daqmxbase firmware.  I have included a link below that walks
    you through this process.

  • Run Oracle under Linux

    Hi
I am a newbie on Linux environment, now I am using Redhat AS 2.1. I've just finished installed oracle 9i on my Linux and it went successfully.
The problem is, I can't find the Oracle menu on my Redhat GUI (as in Windows), so I need a guidance of how to access & run my oracle on my Linux.
any helps / clues will be appreciated
    thx

    Hi,
The installation on Linux doesn't create icons on the GUI as in Windows environment.
You can run the tools and the sqlplus from a terminal.
The tools should be find in: /your oraclehome/bin
Use oemapp to load Enterprise Manager and other tools to create, modify users, instances, etc.
    Good Luck!!

  • Can I run CS6 under Creative Cloud with CS6 Perpetual installed?

    Hi Folks
I've finally got the latest AAM to launch and would like to try Creative Cloud.
But I have a registered copy of CS6 Perpetual already installed.
What's the recommended way to try out Creative Cloud in this case?
I'm time sensitive, as CS6 is mission critical for me. Can't have any down time.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jeff
I have CS6 Premium installed (the upgrade from CS5 Design Premium)
Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat X, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Media Encoder, Extenson Manager
So, there's only  Lightroom and Muse left. I dont use either much.
I'd really like to see it work in my normal work scenario with the above apps.
Do I need to download separate copies of the CS apps to run under Creative Cloud?
Or can I temporarily deactivate the CS6 apps' perpetual serial and run under Creative Cloud?
    Thanks for your time.

  • Can not run reports on Linux OS

    Hi All,
We have running Oracle Forms and Reports Services 10g (9.0.4) on Windows 2003 Server.
The Application Works fine, and reports are generated successfully.
But when we access the same application by using Linux OS (RHEL 4.4),
The forms works fine but Linux OS could not run the report.
This seems to be a configuration problem.
    Any Clues.
    Thanks and Looking Forward.

Check rwserlvet.conf here you will see comment out <!-- ... --> IN the part for the reports engine two lines, one is the Path for Reports the other is for TMP for reports, try to uncomment path and use this, then restart the reports server and see if it works.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • Can I run Photoshop under WinXP 64?

    You can try.
Many people report excellent results, but you should note that Adobe does not support XP 64 so you're essentially on your own if you run into trouble.
    See adobes
    techdoc on the subject.

    Hi Levine919,
Photoshop CS6 has not been tested on Vista.
Please check the Tech Specs : http://www.adobe.com/mena_en/products/photoshop/tech-specs.html
