Can't see pictures in full screen mode

This is my new Mac Computer. Some of the pictures can not be viewed except as thumbnails. (When I try to see in full screen mode, there is a quick 1 second view,then a grey screen with an I in the middle and a dotted line surrounding it. There is no rhyme nor reason why some photos can been seen in full mode and some can only be seen as thumbnail.

The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder. Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
If you haven't, then try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

Can only view Mail in full-screen mode

After installing Yosemite, I can only view the main Mail window in Full Screen mode, unless I check "Classic View" in Preferences. Classic view does not help much, because it does not show the preview, which is essential to me. If I exit fullscreen mode, the minimized window appears for a split-second and then disappears down the left bottom corner of the screen and you cannot find it anywhere. The only way to see anything again is to go to Mail - View - Full Screen. Any help is much appreciated.

I can not see the videos full screen. The videos are limited to a part of the screen.

I use sites like dailymotion,com to watch some Indian videos. I can not make it full screen. It shows with black bands on both sides of the screen, showing short images. How can I see it full screen? Thanks

What video card/graphics card does your computer use? If NVIDIA GeForce, then that is within 99.999% certainty your issue here.
There is a known serious issue specifically with Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card.
The answer has been to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. This specific issue has not been reported for Premiere Elements 11, 12, or 13/NVIDIA GeForce.

If your computer is not Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, then you should be able to find the older driver at

If your computer is Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, the fix is not going to be possible since the available NVIDIA GeForce
driver versions do not go back far enough.
So, before all else, please determine if this issue applies to you and then we can decide what next if it does not.

Can't look at pictures in full screen mode?

I have an iPod touch 5th generation 32GB model. It is fairly new, only almost one year old. I have kept it in mint condition. The problem is, if I take a picture with either the front or rear camera, it will appear when I am looking at all of my photos in the album, but if I click it - it changes to just a blank white page. Pictures I save to my iPod do not do this and neither do screencaps, although I haven't tried those yet I'm pretty sure they still work. Anyone else with this problem? I hate not being able to take pictures and look at them anymore. I am an avid amateur photographer and love to take pictures; but how can I do that without a functioning camera and photo system? I want my camera to work again! Please help.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Full screen mode: Picture becomes for one second blur

Now I noticed an additional strange behaviour.
I rendered all preview during the day.
I review all my pictures in full screen mode:
Open next picture
The whole picture is sharp
One second later: The picture becomes a little bit blur
An additional second later: The picture is sharp again
Open next picture: same happens again...
Open previous picture: It does not happen
Any idea?

Indeed. - I've always had a love/hate relationship with Lightroom - so cool in so many ways, and falls short in so many others...
If you're going to use it, you have to work around (or work with/within) it's limitations... - sorry.

My safari window is disappearing in non full screen mode OSX Lion

Hi Guys,
I seem to have the following problem. not sure exactly how it started as my wife was using the mac at the time (she says she just dragged the safari to different desktop via mission control) but now the situation is as follows:
When I hit safari icon it switches on (I can see the little light dot underneath the icon and after right click I can see names of windows that are opened) however I can only see the Safari menu at the top but no window. If I scroll to the right or left to different desktops it's not there, the same goes if I double tap to see the Mission Control mode it's not there...
I so far figured out that once the Safari menu is visible on top of the screen I can go to View>Enter Full Screen and then Safari will come back into the full screen mode but once I unclick the full screen button in right top corner the whole window just swoops into the right top corner and it's nowhere to be found again.
I have rebooted and it's still the same - I can only get the full screen mode or none. it's very weird. Anyone's got any suggestions?

That's not it - Hot corners are not active, it's more like when you normally click the full screen on/off button (the two arrows facing each other) the transition happens with gray apple background and it moves either to or from full screen but here the background comes on and the window just goes into the corner and it's gone. Then when in Safari menu I go View>Enter Full Screen the window comes back exactly the same way: from top right corner into the whole screen.
Like I can only use Safai in Full Screen mode..

How can I run applications in full screen on my MacBook Pro?

I recently started using an external HP w1858 monitor as a secondary display with my MacBook Pro. I'm having troubles with running applications in full screen mode on the secondary display. How can I run applications in full screen mode on the secondary monitor?

If you always have the external display connected, you can configure the OS to consider it as the default or main display. Once everything is connected and set to your liking (resolution, color depth, etc.), "bless" the external display by clicking & dragging the menubar from the Mac's internal display onto the external. This only works if you are not using video mirroring.
Once this is done, applications will open by default on the external and now "main" display and you can configure them to go fullscreen or whatever.

Menu bar is not visible, but neither is Full Screen mode button. How do I fix this?

While I am in Firefox, it appears that I am in Full Screen mode, as my Menu Bar is missing while in the application, but when I looked up how to troubleshoot, it told me to click on the Full Screen mode button (with diagonal arrows) but it is not visible anywhere in my browser. A file with a .PSA extension is most probably a catalog file from an older version of Elements (up to PSE5). To be able to use it with a newer version (including PSE12), you'll have to convert the catalog to the new format. In the organizer, open the 'File' menu, select the catalog manager (shift Ctrl C) and click the convert button, browse to the .psa file. Your catalog will be converted to the new format.

Dialog hidden automatically when browser is in full screen mode

Hello all,
I have an applet which shows a modal dialog automatically. It works fine when the applet is shown in the IE browser in normal mode. The window disappears automatically within few seconds when the browser is in Full Screen Mode.
Does any one has faced this peculiar problem ?
I am using Internet Explorer version 6.0

Dock won't hide in full screen mode

When editing pictures in full screen mode, the dock does not disappear. I don't think it's always been this way -- I could swear that it used to disappear, which is what I want it to do. With the way it is now, i have to manually hide the dock in order to get to the bottom picture editing toolbar.
Perhaps the issue is unrelated to iPhoto, because whenever I change a dock setting by right-clicking in the space bewteen the left and right parts of the dock, I have to choose the option twice before the setting sticks.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Seems like a Dock issue rather than an iPhoto one. Does it also happen with other full-screen apps: for instance, with iTunes Visualiser in Full Screen mode?
What might be worth trying is to trash the com.apple.dock.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to log out and back in. This will reset the dock to the out-of-the-box settings. You'll need to make your settings again.

How to change a dialog box to its ' full-screen' mode ?

There is a dialog box in an application I am writting currently using swing.
The question is, how can I change it to ' full screen ' mode and switch it back to its normal mode ?

To that purpose, you might make use of myDialog.setSize(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize());Hope this helps even though it is not 'true' full-screen. As far as I know, it's as close as you'll get.

Your troubles are caused by the file dimensions used in your html page code. The QuickTime file is 640X480 and your page code uses 533X381.
The QuickTime controller (your page code shows 'true') requires an extra 16 pixels be added to the actual file dimensions. Your page code dimensions should be 640X496. The controller would now appear in your Web page. Changing the code to autoplay (not autostart) is the required tag and the value would be 'true' (your current code uses 'false').
Full screen playback can only be achieved via the QuickTime Player application. To do this you need a few more "special" tags in your html file code.
You need a "target" tag and a linked file (uses the href tag). The 'target' ='quicktimeplayer' would launch the QuickTime Player when your "poster" movie is clicked. One of my pages as an example:

Illustrator CC 17.1 don't works properly on Full screen mode

Hi
I'm trying Illustrator CC 17.1 under Mac OS X 1.8.5 with Mac Pro with two monitors Apple Cinema and NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1536 MB Video Card.
Can't use it on Full Screen Mode because the hover effect use it to show tools and panels don't works o both sides and on both monitors.
Seems to be Illustrator CC don't support two monitors under full screen mode on Mac OS X.
Any suggestion?
