Can't test actual url and displays differently in ie7

Hi, I am having a couple of problems in testing the current page I am working on in internet explorer. I am working using a Macbook Pro with OS X Lion.
1. I am unable to test / preview the actual url using browser-lab, and all I can see are blank black or white pages. It is a public url and the website is built in Drupal. I am able to view another Drupal site I had created without problem. This only happens when I am testing using internet explorer, and for instance I can see the page fine when I test using Chrome 13.0 for windows. The url is http://ampleo.mx
2. The second problem is that when I have been testing by previewing local source code using Firefox firebug, pretty much all of the content appears squashed to the left. However when I have viewed the page in a real version of IE 7 or in any Mac Browser, then I am not seeing the same behavior and the content is displayed normally horizontally.
I am still quite new to web design so I would appreciate any thoughts on whether this is a problem with my code, or just with the way browserlab interprets pages.

I can reproduce #1. I'm not sure what's going on but we'll look into it in the new year.
I'm not sure about #2. We've seen similar problems due to our testing at 1024x768 vs most people having greater resolutions. Can you drop your resolution to 1024x768, try it in your local browser, and if you don't see any issue with your page, attach a screenshot here?

Got an answer from itunes support. Took 2 tries, but here it is. If you download an HD movie from the itunes store, itunes downloads both the HD and SD version (if it is an HD/SD offering). However, in Itunes, only an HD-SD icon will display. When you sync your IPAD, the HD version will sync -- unless -- 1) you connect your IPAD to your computer and let it sync; 2) within itunes, select the IPAD as source; 3) select Summary tab and 'Prefer Standard Definition videos.' Voila the icon available to the IPAD switches to Standard. Select apply. Now, only the standard version syncs -- usually saving 2GB of space.

Can't access ABS URL and autodiscover.sipdomain URLs externally - SSL protocol error

Problems:
- Can't sync Address Book for external or internal clients (I can do searches however just fine so I'm not sure what protocol is used to perform those, if not with address book)
- Can't connect to Lync mobile.
What I discovered was common with these issues is when I go to try and manually enter in the browser either:
https://lyncdiscover.sipdomain.com/ (to test mobile autodiscover connectivity)
or
https://"extwebservicesURL"/abs (to test address book)
I get same response from google: Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.
I also ran Test-CsMcxP2PIM and got this:

The only search on google that I found on this is to uninstall IIS and Lync web components and reinstall. Which I tried, but Lync web components wouldn't install back (error), so I restored server back from the snapshot and back to square one..
Also tried https://www.testocsconnectivity.com to run test on mobile autodiscovery and got this:
ExRCA is attempting to obtain the SSL certificate from remote server lyncdiscover.sipdomain.com on port 443.
ExRCA wasn't able to obtain the remote SSL certificate.
Additional Details
The certificate couldn't be validated because SSL negotiation wasn't successful. This could have occurred as a result of a network error or because of a problem with the certificate installation.
Is there anything else I can look into to find out why am I getting these errors? Maybe to try OCS logging utility? But I don't know which components to checkmark for logging..

Hi,
It seems the web service url is not valid or the web service not function. Is it Lync Standard Edition or Enterprise? Did the mobility issue also happen for external? Have you assigned a public certificate for reverse proxy correctly?
1. Please go to topology builder and check which FQDN you did put in for internal and external web service. For Lync Server Standard Edition, the internal web base URL should be same with your front end server FQDN.
If the internal domain name is different with external domain name, for example, your internal domain is contoso.net, but your external domain name is contoso.com. The external base URL should use the contoso.com domain name.
2. Please make sure the certificate has been assigned on front end server successfully. Please go to Lync Server deployment wizard to check it.
3. In IIS, please make sure Lync Server Internal Web Site is configured on ports 80 and 443 and Lync Server External Web is configured on ports 8080 and 4443.

How Can I Test New Apple Cinema Display?

My new 30" Apple Cinema Display arrived today but the arrival of my MacBook Pro is still 4 weeks out (I ordered both at the same time for dual warranty purposes). I cannot hook this ACD to my wife's 12" PB and the only other computer that may have the ability is my daughter's new iMac Intel Core Duo (but I'm not sure if it will power the 30" ACD). I would like to test for stuck or dead pixels. Can I plug the AC cord into an outlet and no video connection then power on or will this show no pixel anomolies, or worse, cause potential harm to my display? Anyone? Thanks to all that may reply.
PS: I threatened to cancel my order unless the Supervisor allowed me time to evaluate the new monitor the full 2 weeks AFTER the arrival of my MacBook Pro, so I have plenty of time, just no computer to run the darn thing!

I think pretty much any Mac with DVI will drive the 30" ACD, just not at the native resolution. You will get 1280x800. But if you are just looking at a solid full screen of a single color, for the purpose of trying to spot dead/stuck pixles, the low res shouldn't make any difference at all for such purposes.

SPD 2013 workflow making a REST call to Search returns no records, even though I can take the exact URL and get back records in the browser

I am making the following REST call from a SharePoint Designer workflow:

When I make this call from a designer workflow running as the user who started it (The user is a site collection admin) I get the results shown below. NOTE that I get ZERO records. If I take the url above and place it in the address bar
of any browser, I get back 10 users. (Exactly what I asked for.) Furthermore, if I try to put the call to a REST service in a APP Step, I get a failure return code:

Can ipod touch do airplay and display mirroring

I have an Ipod Touch runninig ios 6.1.6
can it do display mirroring and airplay
If i am not wrong normally there should me an airplay butting in the music app but there's no airplay button in my music app

Why can't adobe reader download and display my files?

i downloaded adobe reader and when I try to display something I get an error message:
"Adobe reader is unable to show documents in this browser configuration."
I was able to display these documents with preview..
and I am able to display them with adobe when using my safari browser.
Help!

Can't Access some URL and outlook

I am having problem in accessing http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ (PubMed) I am an academic and I need to access this page very regularly. I can access from mu university but not from home it gives message "the page is not aviliable".
The second problem is that at my home I am not able to acesses Outlook express on my window based phone it gives me Error Code 80072EFD.
Recently a friend of mine has change setting and the problem strated after setting was changed. I am using WPA2 personnal setting.
I am think it has something to do with the security mode of the wirless router. I need urgent help on this Thank you.

What model of router do you have?
If you connect directly to the ISP modem to you still have the same issue?
Would resetting the router to factory defaults and reconfiguring be an easier option for you?

Can I set all folders and displays to clean up files by name automatically?

It stinks having to clean up each folder individually by name of file. Is there a way to do this as a system preference so it will do it automatically for everything?

In the case you mentioned (COMMAND J) the answer is yes;
This is the default option on my MBP where one can change the parameters and they will always be reflected as such. Take note of the sliders, text size and so forth.

Satellite A210 - Can't install common module and display driver

Just downgraded to XP, downloaded drivers from toshiba and the installation ended with an error message saying no driver found for my hardware. Happened with Common Module and ATI Display Driver.
I mean, I need em both!

I checked the Toshiba European driver page and it seems that the XP drivers have not been released for this A210 series!
I think you have simply tired to install not compatible Common Modules on this notebook.
Thats a reason why you cannot install it.
Regarding the display driver;
Try to install the drivers for notebook models:
Equium A210 PSAEJE
Equium A300D PSAK2E
Equium L350D PSLE2E
Satellite P200 PSPBLE
Satellite L350D PSLE0E
Satrellite L300D PSLC0E
I think one of the drivers released for these series shoudl run.

My iMac 21.5" screen display at login screen only shows about a fourth of the actual screen, and displays in top left corner of screen. Any help?

When i turned my iMac (Lion OS X 10.7.2) on, the lockscreen shows up with about 1/2 to 1/4 of the lockscreen in the top left corner of the screen. It still works but is just smaller and the rest of the screen is black. Ive tried rebooting and theres nothing on the web that has a similar story. Its not a huge problem, it just annoys me sometimes. Its also done this in previous version of the OS its just continuing to do so. Thanks in advance

Maybe some of the solutions in here Troubleshooting issues with video can help.
Especially the SMC- and PRAM-reset and/or the Safe Mode.

Embed and Display different font styles

Let's say I have a text field with some HTML formatted text inside.
txt_field.htmlText = "This is <b>sample</b> text."
how do I embed my fonts so it'll show both the regular and the bold version of the font?
It just works on my Mac but when I look at it on a PC it doesn't even display the right font.
Instead of the bold version of the font, how could I use the black version of the font instead?

unfortunately that is not applicable in this case.
autofill only works if you have every single letter that might be used in the dynamic field already in there, since the field is filled with text dynamically I'd have to put every letter of the alphabet in there to cover all the possibilities, and then I still don't have the bold versions of the letters embedded :-(
Looks like have to make a textfield for each font version and embed each one separately. I'll try that next...

Can I sync my iphone and ipad differently on itunes?

Is there a way I can arrange to have my iphone and ipad sync with my single itunes separately? The thing is, there is music, movies, that I would like to have on both devices, but I want to keep iphone apps and ipad apps separate. In addition, I don't want to sync my music with ipad. Is there any way to isolate the two formats?

I would like to be able to do this also but, i'm not sure how to set my iPad to manually sync for one thing and also, when I connect my iPad to my new (recently purchased,first time,new to this) iMac it only gives me the option to either set up as 'new' or 'restore to my recent iPhone back up'. I just want them to be separate. How can I fix this please?
