Can't use Swing in my java application

I installed J2SE 5 Update 4 on my machine and was trying my hands on creating GUI using swing. I kept getting the error message: "Package javax,swing not found in import".
I have the statement: import javax.swing.*; in my code so I don't what to do again.

I think your best bet is to try uninstalling and installing Java again. Your problem could be something small, however you wull eaist less time to re-install everything, then to try searching for the problem.
btw-What Development tool do you use? Just in case you may try to check whether it could be a problem of the ide (It should not be however), just check with another Ide, and see if the same happens. If yes, then follow my first advise, I think it would take you less time.

How to use Swing in a web Application

Can you suggest me some good PDF/tutorial or some good site for reading about using SWING in a Web Application.
In our web application we plan to use JSP/Struts for the presentation layer. However there are a few screens that require some advanced UI like color coded assets and a graphical version of Outstanding Vs Available limit. We are wondering whether we should use SWING for these screens. Do you think this is a good idea or is there a better apprach to deal with this

There is no way in the Flash Player (as far as I know) that you can determine the amount of free disk space. However, in AIR you can use air.File.applicationStorageDirectory.spaceAvailable to determine the storage space available in the application storage directory.
As far as determining the dimensions of an image, there are plenty of good resources out there on that. Maybe this one will be helpful to you?

The API documentation has a link at the top of every page that says "Index". If you follow that and look for toFront(), you will find it exists in java.awt.Window and javax.swing.JInternalFrame.
To use it in a Java application, create an object x of either of those two classes and write "x.toFront();".

I have not a clue about FoxPro, but the db then is FoxPro and not Unix. The better question would be "How do I connect to FoxPro DB running on Unix with JDBC?".

Hello everyone
Is it supported to use JDBC in multiple concurrent threads of a single Java application?
I intend to use Java 7 (or even Java 8?) from standard Java multi-threaded library to access the following: Oracle 11g/12c and Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2014 and also PostgreSQL 9.4+.
The Java dababase client application will run on Linux and on Windows (64-bit).
If its supported to use JDBC in multi-threaded way - will it scale up well or am I better off using mutiple single-threaded Java applications instead?
Are there any rules to follow when using JDBC from multiple-concurrent threads (such as: do not share any JDBC objects among threads, etc).

Of course.

You should use a separate connection pool for each database.
See the JDBC Dev Guide and use the latest Oracle driver and the latest connection methods shown in that doc

You're probably on OS X Lion?
I had the same problem as you. I used Software Update to update Logic Express to the latest version, and then it ran without any problems.

After installing all of Logic Studio (i.e. install dvd, audio content 1-3, jam packs 1-3), my laptop concludes that everything is installed successfully, however, when going to open to Logic, error icon appears and says:

Thank you! I found that just after I entered the question. I reinstalled everything two times, updated software, but was still having issues. But, I specifically updated the 9.1.8 (which was supposedly included in my standard software update). Guess I needed to give it some extra attention and affection.
P.S. - Why do I feel like the more I upgrade versions of OS X, the worse off I am getting or am? Isn't it supposed to be opposite...isn't it supposed to make things better...come on, mac...where you at? mt. lion or mavericks. I'm downloading Snow Leopard to make some programs run. (um, yeah).
