Can the iPod nano auto sync (like the shuffle)?

Ok, I think I am going to enjoy the new nano over the shuffle, especially for running...but do I miss autosync for the shuffle.
Is there a way to do this for Nano? I have 60 gigs worth of songs, and only 5 gigs of space on nano.

Make a new Smart playlist. Limit it to 5 gigs. Set the Nano to sync only selected playlists (Music tab) and check that playlist.
For playlist criteria, I'd set something like, Last Played is not within the last 5 days and be sure to select Live updating. This way, as you play songs, they will roll off the list for a while.

Copy the music from Nano to computer by:

Then just sync to the new device

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned.

Basically you will have to transfer its contents to the new computer and then restore the iPod and then resync. An iPod can only sync to one iTunes library.

I can't get my 4gig Ipod nano to sync or restore factory settings. My playlist is good and all songs have been checked and work right. I get an error for no disc found when I try to sync up with my songs even when ipod is in disc mode. When I try to restore the settings i get an error 1463 and it won't let me restore. So I am kind of a loss of what to do.
Anyone have any ideas?

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

I want my nano to update like my shuffle, but no luck!

the one thing i loved about my shuffle was it's ability to be inserted and automatically fill with ONLY the EXACT amount of songs that space would allow.
on my nano, i've been trying to do it manually, only to find that it will fill only as far as it can get in the playlist--not randomly.
so i tried the trick of creating a smart playlist, and set it to fill up with 3G of songs from a certain playlist, a playlist that is 4.39G. (i wish it would allow me to set 3.5 but alas it won't do fractions).
so i created a second playlist to fill up to 500MB.
Youd think I'd be up to 3.5G, right? nope, it won't fill. you apparently have to have not one kilobyte more than what's in the song playlist or it just won't fill it up to it's limit.
Any workarounds here? I just simply want my nano to act like my shuffle. Seems like a script has been written, why not apply it to the Nano like apple did to the shuffle?

Your expectations are not based in reality.
Your G4 will not run iCloud. There will be no upgrade from Mobile Me to iCloud for you with that machine unless you do it manually, and only mail will work without further expenditure.

Is there any way of getting a 7th Gen iPod Nano to sync the same as older generaqtions

I have two problems with my new iPod Nano (7th Gen).
1. When synced, artwork either isn't loaded at all or the wrong artwork is loaded against the wrong artist.
2. When I play an album the songs are not played in the correct order, but shuffled automatically.
Can anybody suggest answeres to sorting these issues?
Frankly, if not, the 7th Gen Ipod is a serious regression - it feels more like a very old mp3 player!

The songs are still on her ipod.
They should transfer ok but make sure and use the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase.
Connect the iPod to a computer, launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From...
Make sure and backup the iTunes purchases > How to back up your media in iTunes

I have a new, cute little iPod Nano, sixth generation. I love listening to it, but when it does that automatic time-out thing and goes black, it cuts my music, too. My mom's iPhone doesn't do that. Is there something I can do to stop that from happening? I love the thing to bits, but it's annoying to turn it back on five and six times a song...

It sounds like your headphones/earbuds aren't plugged in all the way. Double check the connection. You shouldn't be able to see any of the silver metal showing.

I went in and reset my iPod Touch back to factory settings and now it will not let me get in unless I sync to iTunes on my computer. Well, it still will not connect thru the USB cord. Does anyone know what I should do to get this corrected? I want my iPod back.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.
