Can the Same Variable used in the copied Queries and can it be transported?

Hi all,
While Transporting a Query from Developement to Quality, there is some elements missing in the
Z Query, example:
"Error when activating element 4BFWXYMKOQF5BQ373003Z2YZV
Element 4BKGUS2Z64GKGEF9QH60W4MUJ is missing in version M"
4BKGUS2Z64GKGEF9QH60W4MUJ is a varible that is created under Contract Account, processed by Replacement Path.
There was a Y Query in developemt, i copied it as Z Query and while transporting this Z Query from Dev to Quality im getting this error.
But when i go into the Query definition of Z Query i can see that same varible is present under Contract Account, but while transporting, it is giving the above error message as its missing.
Please can you help me out what are the next steps to be taken.

Ya you are right i think there is problem with development package.
That was really helpful.
How to know that variable is in whch package?
Is it through Query definition we can see that?
Please give me the T Code's or Tables wher i can find the Package names and wher i can change the package.

Can I have two Time Capsules in the same network, use one as Time Machine and other to expand network?

I need to purchase a divice to expand my Wi-fi network. I was looking at the AirPort Extreme, but a friend has a brand new Time Capsule for sale. So, for the same price of the AirPort Extreme, I´m getting the Time Capsule.
I already own one and using it as Time Machine and wireless router. If I decide to purchase another TC would it have any conflict with the one that I already have?

Yes. The important thing to remember is that the "extending" Time Capsule must be located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from your "main" Time Capsule.

Same variable "used in more then one InfoObject"

I want to use the same user entered value as part of the definition of two different restricted key figures, restricting on two different characteristics. Basically the user will enter a date, and one key figure includes only those with a "Calendar date" < the entered date, the other will have "Date1" less then the entered date and "Date2" greater the entered date. When I try that, I get the error "Variable Select Date used in more then one infoObject". How can I either use the same variable for more then one characteristic, or create a new variable that takes the value of the "Select Date" variable without prompting the user to enter the same date multiple times.

Values of same Variable(used in diff reports) shud be retained in a session

We have an application cockpit. There are 12 to 13 different reports being used in that cockpit. Most of the reports use the same characteristic variables in the report.
When we used to execute these reports in Ver 3.x, the variables used to retain their values in the same session. i.e. if for 0Material, user gave : 'TIP120' as a value in selection criteria in one report, then, if he executed another report after that, which uses the same variable on 0Material, then it retained its previous value: 'TIP120'.
Recently we have migrated to BW 7.0. Now, the variables no longer retain their values in the same session and the user has to type the value again. (personalization is an option but we want the variable should retain the values in same session).
Any help/advise on this will be of great importance as the user is not very comfortable putting values again, each time he runs the report.

Copy Queries where there is no transportation path

Hi,
My requirement is to copy a query from one server to another(for eg:Quality to development) in situations where the transportation path is not there(i.e we cannot transport the queries)and in each server the same modifications needs to be done.

In your case you can use XML import/export functionality, Check RSA1 transport connection. It works well for copying queries.

One of our customers has up to now created their BEx queries and reports directly in production
But from now on they are going to create them in dev and then transport to qa and prod.
Is there any way to transport the already existing queries/reports from prod to qa?

You have to set up the transport ( Your BASIS can prepare transport landscape ) to bring the query transported from Prod to test environment
But you can copy Workbooks from Production to develpment.Open the workbook from Production ,disconnect from server,then save as new workbook or existing workbook..now log into Dev system and save workbook under required role.

I am working in windows 7 and I am trying to enable the copy/paste and I can not find user.j file in the profile and I am not real sure how to create a file, I can create a folder .

I am trying to copy text from a word document and paste it into my web builder and it says that firefox does not support copy/paste from clipboard. Went to your site and it tells me to open the user.j file in my profile. This file does not exist and I am not real sure how to create that file so I can paste the fix from your site into it.

I went to that link and added to firefox add on but it still does not work. I went to the add on option button for this but it told me that my MYSIWG widget was disabled. Does this have something to do with it not working and if so how do you enable it.

Copying queries between cubes

I would like to copy queries from a cube to a MultiProvider. Both have the same structure.
I found the help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/f57539d6d1c93be10000000a114084/content.htm . There it says:

The copied queries and the copied sub-objects have their own names. The new names are derived from the name of the original object and the added elements _<number>.
So the original query remains connected to my cube and a copy of this query will be created pointing to my MultiProvider. The technical name will change from e.g. "zmy_query" to "zmy_query_1". The same then applies to sub-objects (structures, calculated key figures and restricted key figures).
Did I understand this correct?

Hi Steve,
Structure can be re-usable where it holds multple number of CKFs/RKFs/KFs/Chars.... By using RSZC you can copy reports and its adjacent componets to other cube.
We do this activity during enhancement activity, not to stop users from viewing reports.

How to enable edit mode to company code option in the copied PO in SRM 7.0?

When we copy an old PO or when we reopen a saved PO, the Company code drop down option is freezed at the header part of the PO. How to enable this option for the user to edit the company code further?

HI Madhan,
As far as I know, the behavior you have mentioned is Standard behavior of SAP SRM. You are copying an old Purchase Order to create a new PO, the system assumes that all the important header information is same (that is the reason you are using the copy functionality) and gets copied to new PO.
When it comes to 'Saved PO' the system initially determines the company code from the organization assignment of the buyer who created the purchase order.
In such cases, I hope, the user can create multiple purchase orders with different company codes and treat them as templates.
This can be a workaround for the functionality your customer is looking for.

How do I reinstall the edit button on my Firefox 4 toolbar; cut, copy, paste, and print?

I recently have been having problems with my Firefox 4 tool bars. Right now, the Edit icons are no longer on the tool bar, specifically Cut, Copy, Paste, and Print. If there were other Edit icons, they too are gone. All the other icons have remained.
I would appreciate it if you could advise me how to reinstall those specific icons.
Also recently, ALL my tool bars, and task and status bar disappeared. This was only in Firefox 4.0; IE 8 was not affected. Clicking F11 did not work. I could not function without them. Then, a short time later, they "automatically" reappeared. I have not idea of why the disappeared or reappeared.

You can find the Copy, Paste, and Cut buttons next to Firefox > Edit (and in its sub menu) and in the regular Edit menu on the menu bar (press F10 if the menu bar is hidden).
The buttons next to Firefox > Edit are enabled if there is something to do with them, just like with the toolbar buttons.
You can find the Copy, Paste, and Cut toolbar buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window and drag them on a toolbar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

E71-I cant find the copied videos from my PC to E-...

I have copied 3 movie clips from my PC to my E-71, so when it was completed the memory had counted the copied clips, and this confirmed while browsing it on my PC and it was copied to VIDEO Clips in my E-71. When I was about to play and view the movie in my E-71, I can't find it there, though when the memory card counted it, but if I connect the USB reader cable from my e-71 to my PC, it is there, so why I can't find it in my E-71....so what is the problem with this? anyone can help me please?

Session variable using :GROUP variable in init block

I'd like to filter using session variable.
This session variaible should be build using :GROUP special session variable
I'd like do something like this (init block):

but it seems to doesn't work properly (It means I have always 'No' value)
After investigation i did some simple test
initialization block like this:

next i did simple reques with 4 columns:

and my result is:

Why in 4th column I didn't get: ADMINISTRATOR;IT_DEPARTMENTS ....

(You migth have to force a fill of the group variable first)

How to use RichCopy to copy only files that have changed?

I am using RichCopy to copy files and folders from one system to another on a weekly basis. RichCopy is working fine, but it is copying 100% of the data every time. I am looking for a way to use RichCopy where it will compare files/folders from
the source and only copy what data has changed to the destination. I cannot find the option to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

RichCopy is not a Windows 7 feature and it is an obsolete utility and there is no support for RichCopy.

I want to combine a bunch of queries and dump the results - spreadsheet

I have a bunch of SQL queries. I want to run the SQL queries and dump the results into one single spreadsheet in a formatted fashon.
Assume that one of my queries returns the following:
Week 10, Door, 15
Week 10, Window, 20
Week 10, Stair, 25
Week 11, Door, 50
Week 11, Window, 75
Week 11, Stair, 100
Week 12, Door, 1
Week 12, Window, 2
Week 12, Stair, 3
I would then want to take all these results and put them into a spreadsheet with a bunch of other results:
So header would look like:
Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, ...Week 10, Week 11, Week 12...
Then, down below there would be three rows which have the following in Col A:
Door
Window
Stair
So in row "Door", under Col "Week 10", there would be a 15
Under "Window", under Col "Week 11", there would be a 75
Under "Stair", under Col "Week 12", there would be a 3
The column headers would all be in weeks, but I want to basically make a matrix out of my SQL queries. So there would be many rows besides "Door", "Window", and "Stair", but they would all have similar results as supplied by my other queries. Anyone know how to do such mapping?
