Can the USB-8451 run both I2C & SPI Interfaces at the same time?

I have an 8451 on the way and initially will be developing a driver for our product using the SPI I/F. I am also developing a test setup that will use the I2C I/F and need to know if 1 8451 will handle both at the same time or will I have to re-configure each I/F when I need to use it if I have only 1 8451 in the system?
The SPI driver will communicate with our product & the I2C I/F will communicate with the test fixture...

Well, you may be only able to open 1 VISA session to the 8451, but that doesn't mean you cant use both SPI and I2C at the same time. I guess it depends on what your definition of "same time" is.
I have a project that uses 4 SPI channels and the I2C using a single OEM 8451 simultaneously without having to create a new session for each use. Just create and store (I do it as class data) the visa session handle and create and store all your channel references. Each channel you create does not need its own VISA session. I access the 8451 from several different VIs asynchronously without any problem. The VISA protocol will sort out coincident requests.
Buying a seperate 8451 should definitely not be required

I've been running my mid-2012 MBP via USB and WiFi.
I acquired 8-port 10/100Mbp Switch. Can I run hardware like printers, external HD from MBP via the Ethernet switch and still keep USB connections and WiFi net for other purposes at same time?

Macs and many PCs can keep multiple network connections going. When you look at the list of connections in the Network system preference, the one on top is the primary connection and if you want another network interface to be the primary (like Ethernet) you use Set Service Order to drag it to the top of the list.
But when you do that, I think all services use whatever is primary. What I don't know how to do is make specific applications use specific network interfaces.

When you right (control) click on the disk and click eject "disk name", do you pull it immeadiatly or wait a few seconds for it to unmount? Try waiting and see if you get the same message. If you do, when the disk is connected go to applications/utilities/disk utility, after opening DU, select the volume in question from the left side bar and try a permissions repair, you may also run verify disk and see if it comes up with any errors (they will be in red)

Obvious question: If you want to have access to the same folders andapplications, why have two accounts? The point of different accounts is that you don't have access to the other person's data.
Any application in the HD/Applications folder is available in all accounts.
Sharing data between accounts depends on the material being shared. So, if you can provide more details we maybe able to help you better.

I didn't like the iPod Touch user interface at first, but then I got used to it and now I'm back on the old scroll wheel and finding it a bit clunky to be honest. Whatsmore, I can no longer adjust the volume easily by putting my hand in my pocket and pressing the sides. Why did Apple not think to put one on them, sometimes the design over usability thing is taken too far.
Some buttons for easily flicking tracks and pausing would have been handy too.

You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network.

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

Check with the manufacturer for updated drivers for your tablet.
