Threads are just objects that happen to have a special property:
- when you invoke start() them the VM creates a new thread of execution to execute the Thread object's run() method
A class that subclasses Thread is just a normal class and can have whatever members it like.
Your questions don't make a lot of sense. If you are truly a "Novice in Java" then I recommend reading a few good books before you post in the forums.

In my scenario,
first parameter is based on Table But second parameter is based on standard value set i.e 100 characters . No table is involved.How to make second parameter depend on first?

How to Spawn a concurrent program from another Concurrent Program

Hi,
I need to write a concurrent program with PL/sql procedure. Inside this procedure, for a cursor data, for each record I need to spawn another concurrent program. How can I do this. Should I call a concurrent program using fnd_request.submit_request?
Any suggestions?

How to EXPORT a concurrent program from one instance to another. I dont want to use FNDLOAD.
Is there any other way from where we can export the concurrent program to anothere instance from CLIENT connection server.

From the output of the query in the note referenced above, you can run "Users of a Responsibility" concurrent program then to find out the list of users who have access to a certain responsibility.

i have created Concurrent program with Method as SQL*plus and output type as XML. but when i run the Report i get output has Text Format.
not getting XMl File.
i need to setup rtf for this Concurrent Program.
How to Get it.
whether it is possible to setup RTF for concurrent Program with method as SQL*plus or RTF is only supported for Method Report.

use, the same query in datatemplate , and use the seeded XDO executable as the executable.
first get the xml out from Conc Pgm, then we can design the RTF and assign to it

Can't add Shared Member using API

you are attempting to a and event to a calendar you subscribed to. When you subscribe to a calendar that is, in a sense, read only and not something you can change. You should select another calendar to add the even to.

Move data from one member to another existing member

Can someone please advise how I can move data from one member to another existing member? For example, I have data in member ID MT_160 and I want to move this data over to an existing member MT_130 as per business requirement. How can I accomplish this? I tried using the NEWID field but system complained that the new ID must be Unique, which makes sense. I'm stuck now. Any Ideas? I'm using BPC version 5.0 on Microsoft.

one of the ways you can achieve the desired result is Via BPC Excel
1) from menu Edata--> RUn Package --> copy/Move . OR
2) You an write Script logic to Copy/Move data.

Change cast member of another sprite on rollover?

There is probably a really easy answer for this question but I just have NO IDEA how to approach it and am about ready to blow my brains out ... (new at this, yes) so ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.
When rolling over or "on mouseEnter me" of a certain sprite, I would like to change the cast member of ANOTHER sprite as well as the current one (having no problems with the current one as it's all set up in the behaviours lol) is this possible? and how would the lingo go for this?

Don't do what Multiduck suggests. Sprites should never change the properties of other sprites. That is a bad practice prone to creating nasty bugs.
Create a behavior for the second sprite that has a handler for changing its member. You might call it "showRollOver". Then your first sprite simply calls that handler.
sprite(x).showRollOver()
If you want the second sprite to react to mouse overs, then just use the mouseEnter method and call that handler from the first sprite.
sprite(x).mouseEnter()
Note: You can directly call any handler that is added to a sprite, ie,
sprite(x).mouseDown()
sprite(x).beginSprite()
sprite(x).setText()
sprite(x).fadeOut()

Create a role without becoming a member...

I looked all over and couldn't find the answer....I'm 99% sure it's possible....Just cannot remember for the life of me.
What I'm trying to do is create a role (Create Role TestRoleABC) without becoming a member of it or having the admin ability attached to the ID I'm creating the role with.
So, example being. Using ID "AppID123", I issue "Create Role TestRoleABC". After creation, the ID "AppID123" is now a member of "TestRoleABC" and has the ability to grant it. I only want accounts that have the "Grant Any Role" priv to be able to do so....

I can't update a member with a rule on Essbase console

I want to make an update of a member of a dimension on ESSBASE. I'm using a rule on Essbase Console and I allowed the parameters on the *"Dimension Build Settings" -> "Existing Method"* for making the update on existing member. But it says in its dataload.err that I'm not allowed to do it. And I also can't move a meber under another parent, it just make a copy of a member on the other parent setting it like a Shared member.
How can I do for resolve my problem?

I found the solutions...I made a mistake when I set the dimension on the rule.

Let us consider an object:

}When I create an object using the constructor with only two fields initialized such as the following code above, and look at what is happening to other fields as shown in the code below, I see that they are also AVAILABLE, now this is important, but they are set to null. What I wanted to know was, if I created an object with many fields, as many as 50 (getDeclaredFields = 50), and used a constructor with only two input fields to initialize an object, I still have 48 other fields available but set as NULL's. When I create more than 100,000 of these objects in a list and send to a .jsp page, I am unable to understand if this has more memory load than when you use a list of another object which has actually has only two declared fields in it. Each of this new object will have only two declared fields, when I say getDeclaredFields() it would return 2.
This is where I am unable to figure out if this has anything to do with performance or memory, rather, what is the difference between the many possible ways you can initialize an object when there are too many fields which you probably won't use? Either create a new constructor with only two input arguments OR a generic constructor with all fields as input arguments but all those fields which you won't use assigned NULL's OR create another new object with only two declared fields

Updating IWeb, I'm asked to "become a member." I already am...???

I've already published my website, and was in the process of updating. When I clicked to publish, a window asked me to become a member, I already am, it also asked that if I was to select "learn more" for a free 60 day trial of Mac-Life. I already have it...what to do? I'm already a member!

Open System Preferences and re-enter your .Mac account information. Then log into .Mac and change your password. (You can always log back in and change it back). That should jog .Mac into common sense awareness!
