Can we find the number of rows in table from the dump file

Hi All,
Can we find the number of rows in table from the dump file with out importing the table in to the database?
Please let me know ,if any option is there.
Thanks,
Kumar.

<s>Try to import with option SHOW=Y, that should skip the number of rows which are into a table from a dump file.</s><br>

    Is it possible to show the count of number or rows in table on the Home page Tab button.
    On home page there is a Tab called Count and I want to show the count on the right corner of this tab button.
    Please help

    Create an application item. APP_HOME_COUNT.
    Create an application process:
      make the application process type "on new instance" if you only want this to run once
      make it "on load before header" if you want to have the value set every page load
    application process source:
    select count(*) into APP_HOME_COUNT from <your table>
    modify the tab name to reference the app item, maybe something like "Count(&APP_HOME_COUNT.)"
    result should look like this "Count(5)"

  • How to add the Row count(number of rows in table)  in  the table header?

    Hi,
    I'm having a table. This table is viewed when i click on a search button.
    <b>On the table header it should dynamically display the number of rows in the table, i.e., the row count.</b>
    How to do this? could any one explain me with the detailed procedure to achieve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh

    If you want to show a localized text in the table header, you should use the <b>Message Pool</b> to create a (parameterized) message "tableHeaderText" like "There are table entries".
    Next, create a context attribute "tableHeaderText" of type "string" and bind the "text" property of the table header Caption UI element to this attribute.
    Whenever the table data has changed (e.g. at the end of the supply function for the table's data source node), update the header text:
    int numRows = wdContext.node<TableDataSourceNode>().size();
    String text = wdComponentAPI.getTextAccessor().getText
      IMessage<ComponentName>.TABLE_HEADER_TEXT,
      new Object[] { String.valueOf(numRows) }
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setTableHeaderText(text);
    Maybe you want to provide a separate message for the case that there are no entries.
    Alternatively, you can make the attribute calculated and return the header text in the attribute getter.

    You were on the right track with "number of rows", but here is the correct syntax:

  • Get the number of rows returned by a dataProvider

    hi
    I am using a [Bindable] variable that I am setting and using
    as a DataProvider (coming from a web service) for a DataGrid within
    my Flex 2 application.
    is there a way of knowing the amount of rows that the
    dataProvider is returning???
    as I want to do a calculation to set the height of the
    dataGrid depending on the amount of rows being returned by the
    dataGrid!
    any suggestions...?
    Thanks,
    Jon.

    that only seems to count the default number of rows (height)
    of the datagrid..... i.e. 7.
    I need to know the number of rows being returned from the
    dataProvider - i.e. the number of rows coming through the
    webService from the database etc.....
    Thanks,

  • Count the number of rows in an array

    Hi there,
    I'm quite new with Labview, maybe somebody can help me.
    I have a .vi that controls two pump with certain ratios (to make a composition gradient). I export the data to an ascii file, which write the displacement of the two pumps in 2 colums. However, the number of rows is related to the ms-counter, and thus related to the processor of the computer. Now I need, at the end of the vi, to get the number of rows written to the ascii file, to do some further calculations. Does anybody know how to do this?!
    Thanks

    You could wire the loop-counter to a variable outside the loop, so you can see the number of iterations (don't forget to add 1).
    You also can use the Array Size-Function. Here you get different outputs, according to the dimensions of the array to get the size of.
    Here you can see what you get if you use this function:
    1D-Array: one value
    2D-Array: array, item 0 = number of rows, item 1 = number of columns
    3D-Array: array, item 0 = number of pages, item 1 = number of rows, item 2 = number of columns
    So if (in your case) you wire a 2D-Array you can use the array-size function, select item 0 of the array you get and you get the number of rows.
    You can also have a look at the attachement.
    Hope it helps.

    That sounds like it will work. I'll try adding a client count
    increment/decrement in the DLL initialize and terminate functions. This
    should essentially perform the same tasks as the callback scheme you mention
    above, no?
    The reason I didn't think the 'client counting' scheme would work initially
    was I mistakenly thought that the termination function would not get called
    under Terminate conditions. Since Terminate conditions happen a LOT during
    our initial debug of new UUT types, I didn't think that would be acceptable.
    I forgot that lacing the terminate funciton in a cleanup step group, I can
    force it to be called in Terminate conditions.

  • How to set the number of rows displayed in a classical report at runtime?

    Hi,
    Our customer has several standard client hardware configuration and would like to enable end users to choose their 'display profile' at login time. This 'display profile' would contain predefined values for these hardware configurations and supposed to set various paramters that should define the number of rows displayed in a classical report region.
    I tried to provide parameters on the report region but it refused to accept anything but numerical values. Is it possible to do this?
    Regards, Tamas

    The link is to the closest linkable point in the documentation to the description of the Number of Rows (Item) attribute.
    It sounds like you have been trying to enter&mdash;unsuccessfully&mdash;an item name or substitution string into the Number of Rows attribute. The Number of Rows (Item) attribute is the one that actually allows you to do this. Click on the flashlight icon beside it to get a list of items from the application.

    Hi,
    Initialise one variable TOT_ROWS to 0.
    Then in the for loop
    tot_rows := tot_rows + +1 ;
    so after for loop the value in the tot_rows will be the total records..
    If u want it to get this value in the calling procedure of this , just declare tot_rows parameter as out parameter.
    For sum of a column:
    Initialise a variable sum_col to 0.
    In the for loop
    sum_col := sum_col+I_info.column_name
    aprameter if u wish return this value as out..
    I think this wil give u the o/p..
    cheers,

  • Can i get a number of rows in the select list??

    Hello~
    I am studying the "oracle call interface". but i don't know much about oci.
    Anyway i want to know that how can i get a number of rows.
    for example, there is a source code of the number of colums in the select list.
    The following is a list of DB(example)
    /*DB table*/
    ID NAME CODE ID
    1 A 1 A
    2 B 2 B
    /*source*/
    err = OCIAttrGet ((dvoid *) stmhp, (ub4)OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid*)
    &parmcnt, (ub4 *) 0, (ub4)OCI_ATTR_PARAM_COUNT, errhp);
    /*result*/
    The Column is 4. (ID, NAME, CODE, ID)
    So, i think that the row is 3 (ID, 1, 2) in the DB table.
    Simply, Can i get a number of rows in the select list??
    for example,
    err = OCIAttrGet ((dvoid *) stmhp, (ub4)OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid*)
    &parmcnt, (ub4 *) 0, (ub4)OCI_ATTR_RAW_COUNT, errhp);
    I'm trying to get the number of row count. but i can't find.
    Please, could you let me know that how can i get the number of row count.
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your reply.
    we are tested the source code by reply.
    The following is the test source code.
    /*source code*/
    strcpy (szStatement, "SELECT * from DB_TABLE");
    OCIStmtPrepare(gpOCIReadStmHandle, gpOCIErrHandle, szStatement,
         strlen(szStatement), OCI_NTV_SYNTAX, OCI_DEFAULT);
    OCIStmtExecute(gpOCISvcHandle, gpOCIReadStmHandle, gpOCIErrHandle,
         0, 0, 0, 0, OCI_DEFAULT);
    /* get a number of rows count , Reply : prajithparan*/
    OCIAttrGet((dvoid *)gpOCIReadStmHandle, OCI_HTYPE_STMT, (dvoid *)&nRowCount, NULL, OCI_ATTR_ROW_COUNT, gpOCIErrHandle))
    But There is a problem of the result value.
    The result value is 0. It's mean that the row count is 0. and then we are using the all of fuction is succeed.(return value)
    I don't know what is problem. Please let me know about the problem and solution.
    Thank you.

    how to find out the number of rows of as all tables in a schema with one sql statement

    Hi,
    What u can try doing is...
    declare
    numrows number;
    begin
    for i in (select tname from tab)

    Hope this helps. This works only in 8i. So if u need to do the same in 8.0 u have to use dbms_sql pkg.
    The logic is same but the way u open ands execute the code is a bit diff.
