Can we have a Real batch process

The current batch process functionality in Audition records not keystrokes, but settings; so if you record a process using the ClickPop Eliminator functionality under Restoration, you get whatever settings you used with the sound sample you used during the script recording.  However, if you want to record a script that uses the very powerful Auto Find All Levels feature of the Click/Pop functionality, you're out of luck (as far as I know).
I'm in the process of cleaning up a bunch of old recordings I have and digitizing them.  I can't use the click/pop setting of one for the others!  They're just too different, so I've been spending hours waiting while the system samples the current audio and applies the click/pop settings.  Can we get a true automation system that let's me record the fact that I want the system to run the Auto Find, then use the results to run the Click/pop eliminator.  I could then process hundreds of files while I sleep instead of having to check my computer screen every five minutes and get the next step of the process running!
There are other products with better automation, but they don't do as good a job to reduce noise and eliminate clicks and pops on a wide variety of audio as Audition does.  But if you know some that does, please let me know!

Map data with the standard iPhone Maps application is not stored locally on the iPhone. An internet connection is required to download maps data with the Maps application, which would not be effective with a turn by turn voice direction GPS navigation app. Maps data with a standalone GPS navigation device is stored locally on the device.

  • Acrobat Plugin Can be involved in Real-time processing

    Hi,
I am implementing an acrobat plug-in solution for color separation and generation of PRN file for the given PDF file.
Is the Plugin Architecture is good for the real time processing and RIPPIng?  I have a doubt like the Acrobat Process
is involved in exectuing the each and every plugin HFT functions, is that would be fine for my plug-in to respond
    in realtime?
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abdul Rasheed.

First and foremost, Acrobat can NOT be used on a server, right?  So this is going to be a user-invoked process, correct?
Beyond that, what do you thin would be a problem?

  • Adobe Acrobat  9 Pro - How can I speed up my Batch Processing sequence

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Version 9.0.0
My company upgraded from Adobe Acrobat 7 to Acrobat 9 recently. Now, whenever I run a batch sequence on one 2003 Word file, it takes over 20 minutes - that's one Word doc. Before with version 7, it took only a few minutes.
My Batch Sequence has only one command - the Open Options command.
    Question
What can I do to speed up this Batch Processing sequence?
    FYI
My Word doc contains no graphic - merely text with a TOC and Index.
    PS
My system has 3.50 GB of RAM

I have advanced tagging turned off.
I'm only using these two Word options:
Convert cross-ref and table of contents to links.
    Convert footnote and endnote links.

  • Can I have "All spots to process" checked at all times, even for new spot colors?

When I check “All spots to process” in the pdf export settings and save my settings the settings remember that I've checked this option. But, if new spot color objects using new spot color swatches are added to the document (or another document) and I go into the pdf export settings the check mark has been changed into a dash (with the actual checkbox highlighted) – signifying that only some of of the spot colors will be changed to process colors during export. I absolutely fail to see how this could possibly be seen as a feature and not a bug … if the user has checked “ALL spots to process” wouldn't the user expect ALL spots to be converted to process colors, rather than just any spot colors that happened to be in the document that happened to be open when the user first checked that checkbox and saved that setting?
Am I missing something here? What's the point of even having that checkbox as part of your saved export settings if it doesn't include any other spot colors than those used when saving the settings?
What's the point of having settings if you can't trust them, and still need to manually "override" them every time?
I see that some users have taken to writing scripts that instead turn all spot colors in the swatch panel to process colors, and while I commend them for creating that workaround, I'm still pissed at Adobe for not getting the function right.
If this is a feature, who is it for? People who want to add just certain spot colors and turn those into process colors rather than turning all spot colors into process colors are surely better off doing that in the swatches panel, where they're in total control of what's what. And if they don't want to "permanently" change their spot colors to process colors, and prefer to (temporarily) convert them during exporting/printing only, they can do that in the ink manager. But when someone checks convert "All spots to process" couldn't we safely assume they really want ALL spot colors to be converted and not just some of them? I mean, the way that checkbox behaves now, it's like it's a button and not a checkbox. As in: hit the button "All spots to process" to switch all currently viewed spot colors to process colors in the ink manager, OR check the "All spots to process" checkbox to always convert ALL spot colors to process colors during exporting/printing.
Anyone got any light to shed on this?
And is there a way to actually get the advertised behavior, because if you have to run a script every time you export/print you might as well just manually select the checkbox every time instead, but either way it's just really unnecessary as far as I'm concerned … Adobe should get the feature right instead.
If you save a setting and recall it, it shouldn't be possible for that setting to change into something else (in this case changing a checkmark to a dash).
Clearly CMYK printing is the norm, so for most users it would make a lot of sense to have the "All spots to process" checked most of the time, and then you just go into the swatches panel or the ink manager and set things correctly for those print jobs that really do need spot colors.
I myself am not one of those who add spot colors to my swatches unless I'm really using them as spot colors, but I often work with magazines and folders featuring adverts made by whoever, and typically there's always at least one advert that features spot colors, and therefore it would be very nice if the "All spots to process" feature actually worked as advertised without any required actions from me.
We stopped sending ads back to the advertisers for adjustments a long time ago, unless we absolutely had to, because there were so many things wrong with so many ads that it was simply too much work to write back and explain everything to people who most of the time didn't even understand what we were talking about. We found that it was usually a LOT faster and easier to just adapt the ads ourselves, as long as it was something that could be worked out really quickly from within InDesign itself, which pretty much included most typical errors.
But with this feature I find Adobe is trying to make my job harder rather than easier, and it's pissing me off. Arrrghh… ;-)

    But It's not a preference it's a shortcut
It's a bad joke, is what it is. ;-)
So, why in your opinion should it be presented the way it is? I keep saying in it's current functionality it shouldn't be presented the way it is (and that: if it is, it shouldn't work the way it does). If it's not a preference or even a proper checkbox, why present it that way?
If you put it right next to the table at the top of the window (so that it's directly associated with that information, rather than information right above it) and just called the checkbox “Spot(s) to process” and had it only visually reflect the content of the sleected spot colors in the table, then I'd see your point with likening it to the “Hyphenate” checkbox.
If a story has two selected paragraphs that uses two different hyphenation settings then the checkbox should present the way it does now, but if you hit the checkbox so that both paragraphs now use hyphenation and create a third paragraph inbetween the two previous ones it better inherit that setting and not turn off hyphenation for the new paragraph (unless of course there's a defined next paragraph style that switches to a style with hyphenation turned off). And if that checkbox said “Hyphenate all paragraphs” instead, then I would expect it to do just that, and not just the selected ones, and not just the current paragraphs but quite literally all paragraphs even newly created ones – otherwise it doesn't do what it says it does, and simply shouldn't be labeled that way.
And seriously bad interface design aside, you'd have to rename “All spots to process” to “Switch all currently displayed spot swatches listed in the table above to process” to actually describe what that checkbox does. So even if you're a fan of the current functionality, as opposed to one that actually lets the user set and forget a setting like that, and think it's better that users manually check it repeatedly (which I'm not saying that you are, but you're not giving me any feedback suggesting you even see my point of view with any of this, so what do I know?), then why wouldn't you still support an interface that visually matches/signals that functionality better? If it's a “Select all” checkbox supplementing a table containing a column of checkboxes, then present it that way. Don't put it at the bottom of the window next to another checkbox that works just like a regular checkbox and label it “All spots to process” – because that way you are signalling a different behavior.
Seriously, if I was to do design using the same mentality that Adobe uses when designing their user interfaces it wouldn't be long before I lost all clients. There's a lot to be said for de facto monopolies, I suppose. Oh no, there's nothing wrong with the design, just as long as you accept it on it's own terms and don't compare it to anything relevant, and just as long as you give people enough time to understand and accept it … and surrender to it.
For real … I wouldn't win one single pitch that way.
Today's threads have in many ways been a thorough reminder of the following quote from the second link I provided:
Is there an Internet rule yet stating that even the most obviously indefensible mistake will eventually be defended by someone somewhere? Awful marketing efforts get explained as genius viral campaigns, broken features become solutions.
And whether or not you're able to see my point of view or not is really besides the point too.
The real point was, and remains to be:
That for those who receive lots of ads or other external files that may or may not contain spot colors it would be far more useful to be able to set a checkbox to always convert all spots to process when exporting, than the current functionality is (and I'm not suggesting eliminating the current functionality, just change so it's presented like what it really is, and then just let that separate checkbox do what it says) … causing unnecessary manual action on the user's behalf shouldn't be the business of Adobe – preventing it should.
And here's further reading on the subject of bad Adobe interface design for those who might feel so inclined. ;-)
    Cheers!

  • In one FI posting can we have two real objects?

    Hi All,
When I am posting FI document with two real Objects (WBS & Cost Center) still system is accepting and created document.
As per My knowledge in FI Document only one real object to be accept but my case it taking two real cost object, why?
Is there any logic & activity and change any setting for this?
    Thank you
    Anil

    Hi,
you can enter CO objects of more than one type in the FI document, but there is a "hierarchy" among the different object types that decides, which object gets the "real" posting. All other objects will only get a statistical posting, even if they are configured to allow real postings ( are "real objects" in your terms) .
    Examples:
You enter a cost center and an internal order in the document: --> order gets real posting, center statistical.
You enter a profitablitiy segment and an internal order in the FI document --> segement gets real posting, order statistical one.

  • Can I use Organizer to change the .jpg size of all photos in a folder in one batch process?

We're using wa-a-ay too much disk space for a growing photo collection.   My daughter is a camera freak with four kids -- need I say more?
In my current test folder the sizes of the original photos range from 2.3 MB to 4.2 MB.  I picked one photo at random and printed the original and then three more, saved by PSE9 as .jpg files at maximum, middle, and minimum quality settings on plain letter-size paper, and again on 4x6 photo paper.  It takes a magnifying glass and a calibrated eyeball to detect a difference on the plain paper, and it's even more difficult on the photo paper.  I think I should relieve the pressure on the hard drive's capacity by reducing everything to a more reasonable size; after all, the minimum-quality print takes up less than one percent of the disk space as does the maximum-quality print.
I have a hunch that I can accomplish this in a batch process with Organizer, but that's all I have is the hunch -- not the know-how.   I would like someone to step me through the process.
I also expect a lecture on why I shouldn't do this.  Go for it; I'll listen.
    Thanks,  Bud

You are the one to judge... Will you regret it if you want to use some pictures with the original size and resolution at a later time?
Yes, you can use either the organizer or the 'process multiple files' command of the editor. But first you should think about two questions:
    - Are you ready to backup the full resolution and size files before the 'shrinking'? External USB drives with big capacities are available and affordable.
    - From what you are saying, the optimal size would be for files resized for 4" x 6" format at 300 ppi in jpeg quality 8 to 10.
Resizing from the Editor: Use the 'process multiple files' command and click the 'Same as source' button. I would not do it without a sound backup first... This can be done folder by folder.
Resizing from the Organizer : Use the 'Export' command. That command leaves the original and puts the resulting files in a new folder. The resulting files are NOT included in the catalog. This means that keeping your organization (categories, albums, tags...) will be tricky; same if you are using a folder organization system.
Another solution with a third party software such as Faststone photo resizer:
    - Absolutely do a full backup before
    - run the resizing options in the external software so that the files are resized without being moved. That replaces the originals.
    - If you are using the organizer, your organization will be kept, but the file sizes in the catalog and thumbnail databases will be wrong. You can regenerate the thumbnail cache by deleting the thumbs.5.cache file in your catalog folder; it will be automatically rebuilt.
That has worked for me in the past... no guarantee for you!

  • Disable all informations (popups, alerts etc.) during batch process

Hey! I'm using Acrobat 6.0 and the open all batch process to convert various office documents. For each document I have to agree to some alerts like "The document was changed. Do you want to save it" or "Acrobat can't save bookmarks beacause..." - or something like that... I think everybody can imagine what I mean and it doesn't matter what exactly is the content of these popups...
My question: Is there a posibility to turn off all these messages? Maybe with some lines of JavaScript Code? Or pipe these messages to a text file instead of showing it on the screen?

Thanks for your answer. I mean both things, although I haven't yet a JS function so I prefer the feature Batch Processing which is part of Acrobat 6.0
Unfortunately the "Save warnings and errors in log file" preference doesn't work. I think the problem is, that these errors are special Batch Error. But this isn't what I mean...
I will now describe exactly my problem. I'm using Acrobat 6.0 and MS Excel 2003. With several Makros I created special Excel files. With some (not all) tables in the Excel file I made a group (because I want to convert only these tables...)
When I start the batch processing, the following messages appears (which I have to accept or deny... this is exactly what I want to disappear because with these messages I haven't any automatism or real "batch processing"....)
    1. After starting the batch process, first message...
    ::Acrobat PDFMaker::
Acrobat PDFMaker have to save the document before continue. Should PDFMaker save this document and continue?
    2. ...and then after some seconds...
    ::Acrobat PDFMaker::
'Name of my table' - Acrobat PDFMaker can make Tags, Bookmarks and Links only for tables with the printable area "Whole Table". Delete in the section "Page settings" the field "printable are" to avoid this problem.
Would you like to continue and create a PDF File without Tags?
    3. .. and finally Excel also have a message for me:
    ::Microsoft Excel::
Save all changes in 'Name of my Excel file'?
After that the first PDF is successfully created. Then it happens something really strange. I can see in my Acrobat the little window with:
'Name of my Excel File', 2 from 2
(-a progress bar is shown with 50%-)
Please wait. Adobe PDF is making.: 100%
and then i can wait and wait and wait... But nothing more wil happens! :(
Any idea to solve these problems?
To implement the batch processing feature in an own JS function... How difficult is it? Are there any examples/experiences? And the most important thing: can i really disappear the popup messages?
Thanks and sorry for my english... ;)

  • How to delete silence in batch process using Audition CS6

I've started using Audition CS6 recently.
I'm able to delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files using delete silence effect (from diagnostics window).
I'm not able to record this as new favorite so that I can apply it in the batch process.
How can I delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files (1000 or more files) using batch process?
It will be of great help if I can get guidance on this, instead of manually editing these files.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

yes, the favorite is not aware of the diagnostic panel (and delete silence action).
and the silence at the beginning and end varies between the files, is there any way to deal with?
it doesn't look productive to scan for the silence and delete the silences manually for each individual file (for more than 1000 files).
can we create a macro or use some scripting in audition to deal with this in a batch process?
Or is there any other tool that's recommended to have this part done in a reliable manner?

  • Digital Signature automatically inserted for batch processing

hey guys... hope you can shed some light...
Is it possible to generate a non-interactive form with a digital signature already in-place?
We're generating invoices in batch processing and need to have a digital signature in place when we email the PDF to our vendor. The digital signature will always be the same.
I did see this in the LCD help:
"You can use Adobe document services to sign a document, validate a
signature, select the collection of objects to lock, or certify a PDF
document programmatically. This workflow is ideal when a large number
of documents require a signature because they can be signed in a batch
    process.
To sign PDF documents in Adobe document services, configure the web
service for secure access using the secure sockets layer (SSL). For
details about this configuration, see the Adobe document services
    Configuration documentation."
I have a link to the older ADS config document [-Here-|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30a9630b-4f89-2a10-6fab-e311b3ffd9a6] and am in the process of looking through it.
However, has anyone done something like this already?

    Otto,
    thanks!
    I hadn't checked out the demo - i didn't even know there was a demo program provided . BTW, it's FP_TEST_07.
I do believe you're correct that it needs to be an interactive form - that wont be an issue for us.
There is some documentation floating around that we're trying to piece together - we have our Basis team configuring the ADS for SSL connections.
From what I've seen, I think we have to store our signature in the ADS and attach it at run time.
Too many moving parts - I don't like it when I have to get more than 1 group involved to complete a develoment item.
I'll keep this thread updated as we progress.

  • Batch processing with JTA not possible?

    hi ng,
i'm hoping that someone can tell me if it is actually possible to use JTA transactions in non-app server spawned threads and, if so, how to do it.
The problem we have is that we need a demon thread executing updates over a cached cluster (hence the need for JTA), but sun 7 uses a thread local to store the context and transaction info, if we try to perform JTA transactions in our own thread it bombs out from trying to lookup the missing data.
We've tried to re-create what is expected in the thread local and bind it in but this is a large hack involving changing accessibility levels etc and we can't even get it to work anyway.
The other option we've considered is to do the processing in a servlet but that would make the process widely accessible.
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cam

    Hi Marje,
It's possible to include both resizing and image overlay in a custom Fireworks command that can be used in batch processing.  To get started, you could check out this tutorial that deals with the first step.
That article describes how to perform image resize and overlay (in that case, a watermark), and then how to record the steps and turn them into a custom command that can be later used in batch processing.
Once you saved the custom command, click File >> Batch Process, and follow the steps below:
In the first window, select the images you want to process.
On the next screen, open the Commands dropdown menu and select the custom command you created (it'll probably be on the bottom of the list), and click the Add button to include it in the batch process list.
Finally, on the next screen select the location of the processed files, and optionally save the batch script for later use.
    Good luck!

  • Batch processing of images..

I know I saw this somewhere that if there are a large amount of images that need to have exposure adjustments (ie under/over expose in varying increments) that you can select those images and have them
batched processed all at the sam adjusted exposure.
I recently did a digital assisting job where I was asked to this very same thing, and selected the images to have their exposures batch processed and it didn't do it.
I tried another way, and still no luck. Luckily there weren't many images and ended up changing the exposures manually.
Could someone guide me in this step and what I may have missed?
What else can I do with the batch processing within Bridge CS3.
much appreciate in advance the help     ~A~

File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack has an option that will attempt to auto align images.  However it will most likely fail if the focal lengths used varies by a lot,  Different Focal length will produce images where an object like a mountain will be different in size and perspective.  Beside parallax errors object will have a different perspective for example the distance between object I believe will be different when you use different focal length. Once you stack the Images you can transform layers to try to match object sizes and align layers. You can then do a center Crop so no layer will have a transparent short side.  You could then use the Animation Palette and use its fly-out menu to have Photoshop make frames from the layers.  View the animation and if it looks good you should be able export the Frames a sequence of images. Do not save an animated GIF. The  GIF file format standard only supports 256 colors I'm sure you will want more colors to show all four seasons well. Photoshop versior prior to CS5 also had a PDF presentation feature you could even add transitions between slideshow images.  That feature was accessed through menu File>Automate>PDF Presentation.  And the feature was removed is CS5 and is not an available download optional plugin.   Bridges output module PDF feature is lame in comparason seems to be aimed at only replaceing contact sheet II which was also removed but can still be downloaded and installed.

  • Batch Processing Problem

I have tried to batch process a number of files on an external firewire hard drive.  I am running Mac OSX 10.6.4 on an iMac and using CS3.  When I go to set up the batch process I choose the folder on the external drive but when I go to start the batch I get an error message that CS3 cannot complete the batch because the disk is not available.
What on earth is going on?  The disk is fine, is recognised by CS3 when specifying the source folder.
    Any thoughts

Perhaps better, if you could give me a sample xml config with global and one entity. The only attribute in the entity should be the id... The id should be the primary key in both OPA and Oracle...
The global table in oracle would contain a single column with the global id.
The child table in oracle would contain 2 columns -> one for the global ref id and one for the child key...
I think you will find problems.
As a note we have duct-tape solved this by creating views and making column copies in the views of the child id and then mapping the id in oracle to the duplicate column in the view.
So our child view contains the child table with the child id repeated twice so that we can map...
