Can XE run scheduled jobs against java code

I am integrating into GetResponse (www.GetResponse.com) using their API using Java. My  program flow is basically have my Data in CSV file be read by Java code which uses the GetResponseAPI to upload the data to my GetResponse account.
Can this be process be scheduled to run in Oracle XE i.e  have Java code automated to run once a day?

However, when I put my server program to the LIVE server outside the network the client side says cannot connect to the server because: Connection Error, Connection refused: connect. So I read some stuff about firewall and NAT on the web but i was shamed that I don't understand there is any solution to this.What do you want us to do? You already know that the problem probably is that you need to open port 9999 in the firewall, and you probably also need to configure it for port forwarding.
Most clients will be able to connect after that, but some might still have problems. E.g. some companies don't allow clients to connect to other ports than a few well known ones (e.g. 21, 80 and 443)

  • Reports 6i without report server, can I run schedule report job ?

    I use Reports 6i, no Report Server, can I run schedule job to print reports in the midnight?....In server side is better, but if in client side will be ok...
    Thanks

    Yes, you can run a schedule job to print reports at a scheduled time. Below is how (done in command prompt):
    h:\>at /?
    The AT command schedules commands and programs to run on a computer at
    a specified time and date. The Schedule service must be running to use
    the AT command.
    AT [\\computername] [ [id] [DELETE] | /DELETE [YES]]
    AT [\\computername] time [INTERACTIVE]
        [ /EVERY:date[,...] | /NEXT:date[,...]] "command"
    \\computername     Specifies a remote computer. Commands are scheduled on the
                       local computer if this parameter is omitted.
    id                 Is an identification number assigned to a scheduled
                       command.
    /delete            Cancels a scheduled command. If id is omitted, all the
                       scheduled commands on the computer are canceled.
    /yes               Used with cancel all jobs command when no further
                       confirmation is desired.
    time               Specifies the time when command is to run.
    /interactive       Allows the job to interact with the desktop of the user
                       who is logged on at the time the job runs.
    /every:date[,...]  Runs the command on each specified day(s) of the week or
                       month. If date is omitted, the current day of the month
                       is assumed.
    /next:date[,...]   Runs the specified command on the next occurrence of the
                       day (for example, next Thursday).  If date is omitted, the
                       current day of the month is assumed.
    "command"          Is the Windows NT command, or batch program to be run.
    h:\>for "command" - you may want to consider writing a batch program to call your report.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bat file for running scheduled jobs

    Hi
    I am not entirely sure whether this is the correct forum to post this question, so apologies if I have posted this question in the wrong place.
    Anyhow, I would like to know how to create two automated bat file scripts that will execute a PL/SQL package that will tell my Oracle 10g R2 database to run a scheduled job. Equally, I need another bat file to tell it to drop the scheduled job.
    I already have a PL/SQL package that creates a schedule job using dbms_scheduler, and I can execute the scheduled job by going into SQL Plus running the execute command against the package. It is this latter bit, the execute part that I want to automate into bat file.
    Can someone show me how to do this?

    I'm in complete agreement with Hans. Oracle has two facilities DBMS_JOB and DBMS_SCHEDULER neither of which benefits in any way be being called by a batch file.
    What is your version number (all of it) and why are you considering this idea?

  • Is it possible to run scheduled job

    Is it possible to run scheduled job (custom developed java application), for doing some periodic database operstions in portal.
    I'm using portal database (maxdb) with my portal application.I must do some periodic calculations and store them into database table.Therefore i must use scheduled job running on ortal server.
    Is it possible? If possible, how?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Yes it is possible with SAP NetWeaver Scheduler for Java.

  • Facing problem with running exe from my java code

    Hello,
    I have to run the exe from java code for which I m using Runtime and Process classes. The exe runs in the following way on command line
    C:/ myexe -j [now press enter]
    input sentence followed by ! [now press enter]
    And after this exe gives the output.
    So is there any way to achieve this programmatically in Java?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    I m confused .. how can i pass input to the Process through InputStream? I think it will need OutputStream for that.
    Here is my code...
    import java.io.*;
    class CallToExe
    static BufferedReader br;
    public static void main(String[] args)
    File F = new File("C:/Chasen.exe");
    try
    if( F.exists())
         System.out.println("Exe exists");
         Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
         Process proc = rt.exec("C:/chasen.exe");
         br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in));
         int a = in.read();
         System.out.println(a);
         String res = br.readLine();
         System.out.println(res);
         while(!res.equals(null))
         System.out.println(res);
         res = br.readLine();
    proc.waitFor();
         proc.destroy();
    catch(NullPointerException npe)
         npe.printStackTrace();
    catch (Exception IOEx)
    IOEx.printStackTrace();
    But it doesnt work as my chasen.exe needs arguments from stdin.
    The way exe works is as follows.
    on command prompt>>
    C:/chasen.exe -j [ Need to press ENTER here]
    input statement . [ Need to press ENTER here too]
    Then output is displayed on command prompt which can be taken from InputStream of the process. But I m not able to properly run this exe itself with all the arguments frm Stdin

  • Is ds designer able to run a job against a remote job server?

    I looked around for a quite while and couldn't find anywhere it's mentioned that the ds designer can run a job against a job server running on another machine. To me it seems that the designer and DS Server Manager can only pick up local job servers. There is no way for they to specify the hostname of the remote machine having the job server running.
    Could anybody here help me out with this problem? Our environment has restriction that developers have no local admin privilege so they can't start a local job server as a Windows service. The only solution for us is to use the remote job server running on the dedicated server. BTW, we don't use Unix/Linux at all.
    thanks in advance.

    yes, Designer can run job on job server that is installed on different machine, the job server machine can be Linux\Unix or Windows
    for the remote job server to be visible in Desginer, you will have Register the local repository with the Remote job server
    to Register a Local Repository with a Remote job Server, go to remote job server machine
    open the Server Manager
    In the server Manager, go to the job server window, select the job server click on edit in this window you can associate as many local repository as you want with this job server
    restart the Desginer, login to the local repo that you have added to job server
    click on Tools->Options
    expand Designer node, click on Environment
    in the Default job Server drop down list you will see the remote job server
    please refer the technical maual for Adding Job server using Server Manager and also how to add repository to job server

  • Running sqlplus scripts from Java code?

    hi
    I need to programmatically run sqlplus scripts from Java code on a machine that doesn't have sqlplus installed.
    Is there any Java class library available for doing this?

    The Ant approach could probably work for me, thanks for the tip.
    The setup seems rather complex however, given the simplicity of the task. I would prefer just running a Java based SQL*Plus from in a separate process or doing this via an API that would allow me to run SQL*Plus scripts (parse script, substitute variables, run statements).
    Oracle SQL Developer v1.1 appears to include an API that does exactly this.
    The ScriptParser, Substitution and SQLPLUS classes in the oracle.dbtools.raptor.scriptrunner package (oracle.sqldeveloper.jar) seem to do just what I need based on my tests.
    Can I use these classes for this purpose in my application? Is repackaging allowed?
    Does Oracle have any plans for releasing this sort of functionality separately e.g. as part of the Instant Client?

    Check your scheduler xml. I hope XSD validation exception points to invalid scheduler xml file. It should look something like this sample

    Hi,
    This is the bug in Oracle. Most of the times, restarting Oracle database may fix the issue.
    Basically, an existing bug needs the oracle database restarts in a regular basis.
    Restarting oracle database will flushes the database buffer cache.
    Thanks,

    Ok, did you reimported the /metadata/iam-features-accesspolicy/event-definition/EventHandlers.xml from the BundlePatch folder?
    Have you followed Addendum to OIM 11.1.1.5.6 Bundle Patch 06 Readme (Doc ID 1543504.1)?

  • Can I run the Servlet and Bean code on Sun ONE Webserver 6.1 SP5

    Hi all.
    My environment as below.
    1) Windows 2000 Server SP4
    2) Sun ONE Webserver 6.1 SP5
    3) JRE1.5.0
    The directory ( WEB-INF/classes) where is to create on. I have a Bean and Servlet code but I can't
    to run it on. Another code Jsp, HTML can run.
    How can I do?

    Your question is somewhat vague, but I'll presume that you are asking how you can invoke your servlets.
    If the servlet classes are correctly deployed, you can invoke them directly. i.e. http://host/<app>/servlet/<classname>. Or, you can create servlet mappings.
    Java beans cannot be invoked the same way a servlet can. You can access beans from within servlets.
    For more details, check out the servlet tutorials at http://java.sun.com
