Can you alter the JVM heap space size for all Windows users?

Hi,
I have used the "-Xmx" option to increase the Java Heap space for my Java application. This works fine, but all other users on my system still have the default heap space setting and I want them to have use an increased heap space as well. I cannot alter the JVM heap space at the command line since our Java application is started via an ActiveX bridge from a Windows application.
So far I have found one potential, but not really good solution; I have figured out that I can copy the deployment.properties file containing the altered JVM heap setting from the "Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment" folder in my own Windows "Documents and Settings" folder to the same folder of another user. However, this is not a really good solution since we are running a system with about 60 users and often new user accounts are created and sometimes people forget to copy the deployment.properties file.
Does anyone know a better solution. I've tried to search the Windows registry or the JRE files for a default JVM heap space setting but I can't find it anywhere. Still on some systems the default is 64Mb and on others 96Mb, so I guess there must be a setting somewhere?

but i think this configuration just effect the eclipse, not embed bpm engine. I also change the engine preference, increase the heap size, but engine crash as before.
I want to change the jvm from jdk to jrockit, i hope any suggest.

No. And that would be nice in your type of example.
I would recommend that you could TRY to use the "Map, Background & Animatics" earth icon> (next to transitions tool tab), scroll down> add RED background, and ADD Transitions inside some. That might help your example out.

TS1398 can you change the connection order in iOS for known networks

Is it possible to change the order of preference for known Wifi networks.
When I turn on Wifi at home it selects the BT fon connection not the private network connection because the Fon connection was set up after the private network.
This gets annoying as it prevents connection to other devices in the house, without changing the selected network.
Help would be appreciated

Guessing you mean the order of columns in the 'View Responses' tab.
If that is correct - click anywhere within the data in the 'View Responses' table
Click on the heading (eg next to the letter / name at the head of the column) of the column you wish to move. Release mouse button.This should highlight whole column.

Can you auto shrink quotas on a volume for a particular user until it reaches a limit?

On a Server 2012R2 machine, we use quotas on the root of a drive to limit the amount of space users have in their home directory. Some users we have to temporarily increase their quota if they are working on a big project. But is there any mechanism
or script or scheduled task that we could use that will on a regular basis check that users quota, and if there is room to lower it, it will, but only lower it back down to a set value (or as close as it can get to that set value at the time it runs)?
That way eventually they will get back down to what their "normal" quota was, before we had to temporarily bump it.

there has quota logging option: log event when a user exceeds their quota limit…. Create a scheduled task to trigger on the event, then configure Action to perform a script to get back down to what their "normal" quota… I don’t know

OT ~ We keep becoming more and more aware of how easy it is to lose one's bearings when it comes to keeping up with info tech. My husband and I are both official members of the geezer set and have been out of the work force for some years. You really do pick up so much just by being in the environment where people are using things to get work done. A couple of old MP3 players, PPC G5, and a vintage Inspiron 3800 that someone didn't want any more is about it. No cell phone, no iPod, no iPad, no home wireless network, no streaming media. Fixed income. So we do with what we can as long as we can. If we could get by without that Intel processor, we'd probably make do with what we've got. On the other hand, we've really wanted a notebook for a very long time and have to admit that needing to upgrade to accomodate my husband's project is pretty much just the "reason" we need. I really mean it when I say that we are beyond appreciative that users take the time to share info and patiently educate those of us who fall into the "slow tech" category.

Can I use the Airport express w/s for all sound on my mac?

I have another one, can you select such that all sound on your mac goes through the airport express and the speakers connected to it? Or can it only be used in connection with i-tunes?
Might be a simple stupid question, but I have trawled through most discussions concerning airport, and gave up on the help files, no one seems to have asked.... So... Any bright ideas? I am sure you macboffins know right?

iTunes is the primary program for streaming music from the mac to the airport and is the best out there considering that it was written directly by the vendor who made the product.
Having said that though, when you asked the question it kinda got me thinking as to whether or not it could be done, after looking briefly on the internet i did come across this link:

This link seems to advertise a company which has designed there own software to work and stream any sound from the mac (or windows machine) they do both across the airport express.
Not sure good it is, but the company seems to be quite confident in it considering they are trying to sell it. I myself will be sticking with iTunes as i feel no need to line another companies pockets with money when they are trying to make money off apples hardwork.

When will Apple resolve the lost album artwork saga for Mac/Windows Users?

I'm running Windows XP, although this problem appears to be both OS- and platform-independent. I've read several forums within and outside the Apple Support site that describe issues around lost album artwork.
In a nutshell, iTunes loses artwork that was manually obtained/added (and also iTunes-downloaded). I know I can right-click lost albums for downloaded music, but this is annoying because I have thousands of albums (or single songs from albums) and I don't want to constantly reload the information. It's even more aggravating because a large portion of my music collection consists of rare albums, and it's not unusual for me to spend significant time finding a single cover.
I've tried some tips described in the forums, but it really comes down to users asking: Can Apple please acknowledge that this is a broad v8.x.x issue and commit to resolving it in an official release?
Artwork coverflow-style viewing is a huge part of the music experience to me. I LOVE iTunes, but not if using it means that I'll constantly be frustrated and worried about data loss. I'm loyal to iTunes and don't want to leave, but I'm already looking at other players.
Apple - We're begging you. Can you please fix this?

My artwork doesn't get lost, so I wonder what is different on your PC? I've embedded the artwork in the MP3 tags, and they are ID3 v2.3.
You might check your Windows Media Player settings. The default settings get info from the internet and can change things without you ever 'running' WMP. Then the next time you look at a file in iTunes, it is changed - so it seems iTunes did it.
It's in 3 places in WMP - general, privacy, and library tabs.
If you are talking about itunes store downloaded artwork going missing, that's a different matter. I think not, since you mentioned rare albums - presumably not sold in iTS, so therefore not downloaded from iTS.

In a slidewhow in iPhoto '11, can you alter the font size, color, and alignment of your descriptions?

Putting together a slide show in iPhoto versoin '11 and want the descriptions I wrote to show up on the images! No worries, simple to do! However, I don't like the font color, alignment of text, and size of text. Is this a fixed thing and can't be changed? I have looked everywhere to try to alter this info! I do see you can add a text over each photo...however I've already added it into the descriptions and want to try to get around re-entering all the info!! Also that text has its limitations!!! Still can't seem to give that the alignment I want!!

You certainly can change the "None" style but I think it is not good to leave text in topics with no style assigned to it. When assigning things like bullets using the formatting toolbar icon it applies a "None" style forcing you to select a style (e.g. Normal). See here for further details (look in the RH8 section).
If you want to change the "None" style, expand the "Other" styles section of your CSS file. In there is a "Background + Text [Body]" style that can be changed. It is this style that is used by the "None" style.

Can You Alter The Contrast Of Toolbar, Sidebar Icons?

Especially in Mail and Safari. With the grey background of the toolbars and sidebars themselves the icons barely stand out. In Firefox most ot the toolbar icons are fairly bold and easier to see, but in the native Mac apps they are so dull it's difficult for me to make them out. I don't have a machine in the house that still has Snow Leopard to compare but it seems to me that all the icons got smaller and lost whatever color or contrast they had. Besides the current glitches in the OS I really don't like the look of the applications as they are now. The only things that stand out and are easily visible are the three red, yellow, green window buttons.

Thanks. i remember my first experience with an Apple computer was on OS 10.2 Jaguar. I remember thinking how much more vivid everything looked compared to Windows machines at the time. That really sold me on the whole Apple experince. This seems like a big step back, smaller, unalterable hard to read fonts and icons. Ugh!

Can you use the same external hard drive for Time Machine backups and as an additional storage drive?

I have an external HD that I've been using exclusively for Time Machine backups. I need to clear space on my hard drive, so I was thinking to move music & photos to an external drive. Wondering if I can use the same one I have (which I'll aslo keep using for Time Machine) or if I need to get another drive.

You can use Time Machine with a Time Capsule, and with USB, FireWire, and Thunderbolt disks. The backup disk can be directly connected to your computer or be on a network. If the backup disk has been divided into partitions, you can use one of the partitions.
If the disk is partitioned using the Master Boot Record (MBR) partition type, some partitions may not be available for use with Time Machine. The GUID Partition Table (GPT) partition type is recommended.

I'd like to know if you can modify the dimension of a slide within a project?
I am aware you can Modify-> Rescale Project
That does it for the whole project, but what if I wanted to add more length to slide 6 only?
Please advise if that is possible.

No, all slides have the same resolution, which is normal IMO for a file that is published as a movie. Maybe if you explained what you want to achieve?

Can you change the default code that targets a new window to change the content in a div tag instead

I created a database for store locations. I was able to display the list of stores. Here though I don't want the list to show the number in front of it... I still need to find the CSS to edit my results for this one. However, more importantly, I don't want to open my results in a new window, I want to be able to target a DIV tag instead.
This is the code that is created to display the list of stores.

Currently it opens a blank window. I'd like to target a div tag on the right of the list area where the store info can appear.
Perhaps the gurus at adobe can upgrade this feature? Target DIVs instead of new or blank windows, or using frames. Below is the screen of the links created from the DB.

My default font size is set at 18px. Is this the default default font size for all users of ff 3.6+?

I was developing a site in ff when I noticed other browsers were rendering the font size smaller than in firefox. Upon investigation I discovered that my ff 3.6 default font was Adobe Caslon Pro Bold 18px.
I have never deliberately set this. My understanding was that all browsers default default font size was 16px.
Has ff default font size changed from 16px to 18px?
