Can you create a default profile on a single PC with multiple users? Firefox 3.6.10 running on Windows 7.

We have about 15 users sharing the same computer. I would like to create a default firefox profile, so that no matter who logs in, they see the same home page, bookmarks, add ons and so forth. We are running windows 7. Is this possible? It would also be helpful when setting up new computers. This way it is consistent.
Thank you for your time,
Sherry

Working on a single computer with multiple users, I have set things up to allow each user to view and listen to the others' music libraries under the "Shared Library" function.  Can you then connect an iPod touch and copy music from a shared library?

Was your wife logged into the libray at the time you tried to log in? I have had a similar problem and it was because another user was logged into the library when I attempted to. I got the permission denied banner.

  • Can you share/lend books that have bought from iBook with others users?

Can you share/lend books that have you have bought from iBook with other iPad users?

At this time, unless I've missed something recently, you cannot. You can load an iBook onto multiple iPads if these are all owned by your household though (you can't give an iBook to a friend, for instance, or a relative that lives elsewhere).
If the ability to lend books is important to you, you may wish to purchase Kindle books from Amazon, though you'll want to confirm that the book has lending enabled - not all do - and that the Kindle app for iOS supports lending.
This is one of the several advantages of physical books; the ability to loan them out or give them to someone else. Whether the book publishers will ever allow similar unfettered handling of electronic books is unknown, though I'd guess they'll be dragged to it kicking and screaming.

  • Can you create an item validation that's an "Alert" to the user?

I have a report of Personal Facts that includes a birth date and anniversary date. These dates display on the report as DD-MON-YYYY. I would like to 'alert' the user with a message (e.g. Today is this Customer's birthday) when today's date equals the birth date (montha and day or anniversary date. Is the only way to create this 'alert' to create a Page Validation for the column (item) BIRTH_DATE like this:
    to_char(trunc(P4_BIRTH_DATE),'MMDD') = to_char(trunc(sysdate),'MMDD')
I've tried this but it doesn't work.

Doing it this way, how about creating a HTML region to hold your Alert message?
The html region is based on a condition that: to_char(trunc( :P4_BIRTH_DATE),'MMDD') = to_char(trunc(sysdate),'MMDD').
Probably the reason you are not seeing the value in debug is because you are using a report region. You cannot see the values of indivdual rows/columns for report regions in the debug.
Actually, having said that, that is were your problem is at. For a report, your item is not :P4_BIRTH_DATE, but instead something like f05 (the number changes depending on where it's at, column-wise).
The only way to reference it is with htmldb_application.g_f05 (or whatever the number is). But, with this referencing, your best bet would probably be to manually create your report with the htmldb_item syntax. And, if your going to that level of effort, you maight as well attach a javascript call to the BIRTH_DATE field that displays an alert box, though if you are unfamilar with javascript, the conditional HTML region approach should almost work as well, though I'd add another field for the person's identifier (name?), so when it appeared, you would know which user had a birthday, since report regions are usually used to retreive multiple records.
Or, another approach would be to create a psudo-column through a view that populates the alert field if the condition matches, otherwise it contains a null, then base your report on the view.
    Hope this helps some.

  • How do I create a default profile for all users of a computer in Windows 7/Vista for Firefox versions above 8? I'd like all new users on a computer to get the same defaults, bookmarks, homepage, etc...

I have found help for this on older versions of Firefox, but I can't seem to find anything for the latest versions above 8. There must be someway to accomplish this for imaging on a large scale.

You can create a defaults\profile template folder in the Firefox program folder for new profiles the same way as in older versions. That folder only isn't there anymore because all files have been moved to the omni.ja(r) archive, so you need to create it yourself.

  • How to create a default profile for all users in Firefox 9.

I run a computer lab, and am looking for a way to create a default profile in Firefox 9 that new users can use. I want them to be able to launch Firefox for the first time, and see my homepage. I want to disable any check for default browsers, firstrun pages, or any other prompts.
The old .adm files for group policy don't seen to be working any longer.

    See http://www.frontmotion.com/Firefox/howtodeploy.htm
You can create a defaults\profile folder in the Firefox program folder and place files in it to be used to create and initialize a new profile.

  • How can you create a writable PDF document from a PPT presentation ?

How can you create a writable PDF document from a PPT presentation ? Upper part with the image , lower part with a free space in order to take notes for students during presentation or course.
    Thanks.
    B

You can make a PDF file out of you notes and handouts but using the Adobe PDF printer.
Open your PowerPoint Document then go to “File” “Print”
    Select ‘Adobe PDF” Printer
Under slides, select which way you want to print. Note it will not print to a printer but to a PDF file.
After then go into printer Properties and Setup PDF properties, do the following: (see second image below)
    Default: PDF/A 1-b
Adobe Security: none (change as needed)
Adobe Output folder: Prompt for Adobe file name
Adobe Page size: Letter (change as needed)
    Check the following check boxes
    View Adobe PDf Results,
    Add Document Information,
    Rely on system fonts only,
Delete Log files for successful jobs.
    Select OK
A pop will ask you where you want to save the document. The file extension should be PDF. After giving the file name select okay and the file should popup as a PDF. Down side is if you want to speaker notes included then you will have to do another file, like wise with just screen shots then combine into one PDF document.
I used Acrobat IX Pro. So to do this you need Acrobat IX or X Pro.
    Hope this will help.

  • Can you create a .ics file from entries in a PDF?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me: Can you create a .ics file from entries in PDF?
    Example:
I'm wanting people to be able to choose a number of dates for some events within a PDF, then click a button that will then create a (or number of) .ics files so they can add those dates to the calendar of their choice. Is this possible?
    Thanks

Using the solution supplied by Leonia, and cited by Keith, you can do the same thing (flopping the Curve profiles) in LightRoom. So, it makes sense. Though I didn't know know it worked for Color Negatives.
A friend of mine with a Nikon Coolscan is going to scan nearly 150 B&W rolls of 35mm negatives for me, and I want to import them all into Aperture, naming and keywording as I go. The objective is, of course, to have the convenience of a diigtal library. But also to have some made into large prints for framing.

  • How do you create a "DEVELOPER PROFILE" in xcode (4.2 on Snow Leopard)?

How do you create a "DEVELOPER PROFILE" in xcode (4.2 on Snow Leopard)? I accidentally deleted it from Keychain Access.

I'm not sure what you mean by Developer Profile, but you can create a provisioning profile in Xcode 4 from the Organizer. Click the Organizer button in the project window toolbar. Click the Devices button at the top of the Organizer. Select Provisioning Profiles from the left side of the Organizer.
If you need to create something other than a provisioning profile, you may need to go to Apple's iOS developer center, sign in, and create what you need from there.

  • Can you create cd sleeves in Photoshop Elements please?

    Hi,
Can you create cd sleeves in Photoshop Elements please?
Or is there a software that can create cd sleeves, using a template perhaps?
I can print my own cd inserts (jewel box) but want to create a card cd sleeve.
    Many thanks,
    Ric

Thanks all - this has been a real eye-opener. There are companies out there who will design & print cd sleeves for you so the tech is obviously there somewhere, but apparently not for home users.
    Never mind.
In Adobe Elements 8 I can crop or size my own art work how I want it then set the Win7 default printer programme to print say 4 identical images to A4 which when divided up will fit a typical cd sleeve. If i pop adhesive paper into the inkjet i can then stick my cd art work onto the card sleeves. I will buy these but you could make them. So there is a way round this one, it just takes a bit of head scratching?

I'm using firefox in HP-UX 11.11. I see that when I open the
firefox for the first time and create a default profile the
firefox crashes with the following messages
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library libXt.sl
    [Can't open shared library: libXt.sl]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library libXext.sl
    [Can't open shared library: libXext.sl]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library libXm.sl
    [Can't open shared library: libXm.sl]
    What I'm missing?
When do we get the above errors.

Go to '''about:crashes''' in the address bar and copy and paste your crash reports here and I will determine what the problem is and what is causing Firefox to crash.
