Can you create a playlist when the associated files are not present?
I want to let my friend create a playlist from songs in MY library, but from HIS computer, so I copied my Library.itl and Library.XML files to his PC to let him peruse what I have. Obviously this only lets hin VIEW the songs, NOT play them. Is there a way he can create a playlist that I can then move back to my library and put on my iPod?
I've tried dragging and dropping as well as right click>Add to Playlist, but neither method works when the files associated are not present.
Is it possible?
No. iTunes will only add media to a playlist if the media files are present.

I have most definitely selected shuffle in both locations - from the playlist and on the ipod video screen while video is playing.I finally got it... had to sync the photos with the music in iMovie, arrange the voiceover in GarageBand then export to iTunes, and then I was able to put it all together in iMovie and burn in iDVD... had a few glitches along the way but finally finished : )

In order to download the software, your computer must meet the system requirements to run the software.

The usual reason for not being able to download is that Premiere Pro (and other video apps such as After Effects) are 64 bit only so they require a 64 bit computer and a 64 bit operating system.
If you're running a 32 bit computer and operating system then you will not see the Premiere Pro icon since the software will not run on your computer. -

You're ignoring context. On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers. although it is possible to insert podcasts into a playlist on the Mac, these are not in the playlist on the iPod after SYNC

You should be fine. Just make sure that you download and install the P2 drivers for your PB. Also, if possible transfer directly to your external. P2 cards can eat up a lot of space very quickly and you don't want to overburden your system drive.

How to block the 'save' function when the required fields are not filled?
I designed a PDF file with some required fields and I do not want the user to save the document until all required fields are filled. My idea is to write some scripts in Willsave method like:

app.alert('You should fill the Family Name field firstly!');
But I do not think it works as finally the document is saved after all.
Please help me on that!

I am a Rocky myself and I know how though it is to establish some good codes. Since I created some forms with validation options myself I might have a code for you. The code also creates an alert box (Yes/no option) if the user chooses yes the form will be validatet, if he chooses "no" the alert window will be closed.If everything is filled out correctly the form will be saved otherwise the textbox will be higlighted and gets focus.

i have a new macbook pro 13" and every 6 minutes or so it pops up a window that says "there was a problem connecting to the server. URLS with the type 'file' are not supported". it never seems to cause any problems but is supremely annoying. how can i make this come to an end?
I tried someone's solution of taking another external disc and plugging it in, then when it showed up and time machine asked if I wanted to use it or that someone might be trying to trick me, I chose not use it. Then I shut down my computer, plugged in the original Lacie, and rebooted the computer and all seems to work fine now-- the Lacie appears on my desktop and all seeems to be in working order. Who knows why or anything else,- as weird as it gets- but for now things seemed fixed--- maybe others can try this too-- it worked for me so far.

I'm being shown an error pop-up message periodically saying "There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with the type 'file:' are not supported." I have a brand new MacBook Pro, and at no time am I actually having trouble connecting to the server, but this message continues to pop-up several times a day at random intervals. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is my computer just having a glitch? Other than that, and a mildly sticking caps lock button, it's working perfectly.
