My situation is that I have two Core 2 Duo macbooks, model 2,1 and 1,1. One sustained a fall and basically still works as computer but screen is cracked, optical drive wont run and key board has some keys that broken of in a way that can't be replaced. The only thing wrong with macbook number two is a coffee spill. It won't charge the battery or run of the power adapter but will run on a battery that has been charged on another macbook.
I figure I probably have one fully functional macbook between the two. What I need to know is:
1. are these slightly different model numbers fully compatible for swapping out parts?
2. What is the best way to go about this in light of wanting to combine the display, optical drive, and keyboard from one mac with the logic board of the other. Should I think of it as a swapping of logic boards or cannibalizing a host of parts off of one back to the other? The former feels cleaner but the latter might be actually be less complicated and less work.
3. Is the logic board the firm culprit in the second macbook? Is there another possibility? Is there a clear spot where the logic board might be shorted that can be more easily repaired than the possible number 2 scenarios?

Look in "About This Mac" in the  menu for the serial number. They probably didn't copy it to the new logic board. They can download software to do this from a website restricted to Apple service departments.

Negative, the cases look similar but internally are EXTREMELY different. Even the later ( late 2005 ) G5 are internally different than the earlier G5.

If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine. YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

Check System Preferences. I think Control-1 is used by something in the OS now. Switch it off. It's a major p[ain the way the OS is taking over more and more of the keyboard, allowing less options for application use.

Can you save your own theme and button set up, so I can use this same format for similar content. I want to keep the button content and the theme the same without having to create it everytime? I am trying to streamline the process for multiple dvd's with the same menu and buttons but different content. Does that make sense?

I am only new to this caper too, but I am pretty sure you can save a theme as a favourite by pressing the "save theme as favourite" button under file. If you have edited an existing theme but don't want to lose it, make sure you untick the replace existing button.

Thank you for your help. Now I just want to expand on this a bit. To use the Applescript you have supplied me, how do I tell it to name the folder other than by date, and where to put it?
Let me say, preferably, is it possible to make an action like this right-clickable? Instead of having to pick a script. Anything that slows this process down means I might as well do it all by hand. What I'd really love to do is this:
Select a number of items. Right click to an action saying "create a new folder and put this items in it. Name the folder with the first item's name". Very simple and quick.
Could this be accomplished? Through Automator? or something that can appear in the contextual menu? Folder actions?

You can do this with Adobe Acrobat.
If you are using Export PDF it is a long procedure.
You need to convert your PDF in word or powerpoint.
Then you can edit the document & again can create PDF.

MagSave, yes. Other ports cannot be safely cleaned although you can blow air in to clean out dust.

You can remove the SIM card to prevent any cell phone services and use the iPhone as an iPod Touch.
You can cancel your service with AT&T or use the SIM card with another phone, or get a new phone with AT&T using the SIM card that shipped with the new phone to activate phone and use the iPhone as an iPod Touch.
In order to install a firmware update on a no longer activated iPhone, or restore a no longer activated iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed, the no longer activated SIM card must be inserted in the iPhone to complete the process - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If I understand correctly you want to use both the Apple TV's with one TV.
There wouldn't be a problem with that, they will each need there own network connection and should be connected to different AV inputs on the TV so that you can switch between each Apple TV as a source with your TV remote.
If you don't have two HDMI ports on the TV, the Apple TV 1 will connect by component cables, if this isn't possible you would need to get yourself an HDMI switch.
