Can you mimic the mail-merge part of Recuitment to other areas of HRMS?

We are migrating to Oracle HR from a legacy system that allows users to run custom mail-merge MS Word docs from almost any screen that they choose. Is it possible to do this in HRMS from areas other than OTA and Recruitment?
For example, when someone leaves the company, automatically run a letter. Are Oracle Alerts suitable for this? Or would this have to be a manual concurrent request? We don't want Oracle Reports as a concurrent process, as the MS Word output is difficult to edit with all of the frames it uses. We also don't want the users to manually enter parameters - just use the current record on the screen.

Paul,
You can create custom Web ADI Integrators for any HRMS forms apart from the HRMS People Management template forms. You will need to create a view similar to the one used by the forms and make sure you link the Web ADI Layout to a Mailmerge template document. I can walk you through if you want.

    I am trying to mailmerge to a form and need to center certain sections on the same line.  Impossible to accomplish in the word processing portion because it wants to center the entire line.  I would like to use the page layout section but the "enter merge field" is gray.
    I have been able to accomplish the task using Filemaker but some of my constituents do not have Filemaker and I would like to make a template for them to use with numbers, excel,etc.

    Can't see what Layout mode could possibly offer that you don't have in Word Processing mode.

  • Can you do a mail merge in Indesign?

    Hi all, basically i have to create certificates with up to 200 names. The Certificate is created on the master page and then the relevent number of pages inserted. Then the time consuming part comes when i ahve to copy and paste 200 names individually.
    is there a quicker way, maybe you can set a value in the master text box and have it populated from an exteranl file?? Something like a mail merge i guess?
    Any ideas guys?

    RIch, it sounds like you are doing something wrong, unless you have that many records. You should not be getting more than one page per record in a job like this.
    You have the option, alos of specifying a range of records to merge so you can break itinto more manageable chunks, or specify a range to print. That said, if you really have thousands of copies to print, Data Merge may not be the best solution. A real VDP module on the printer that can take a single page to RIP, then add the custom information on the fly from your database is a lot more efficient and would probably be cost effective if you do a lot of this kind of work (or you could send it out to someone who does).

    On the right side you'll see under the Mail section "Add Account”

    I have my own website and I wantto use it's email feature. I have set up many mailboxes  and will probably do more. Apple has done a great job making mail templates for Yahoo, Google, Apple. etc. mail accounts. I was wondering if once I set up one for my mail account, can I ise it for a template for other mail acconts as I have to redo them all from POP to IMAP.

  • Why can you see the artist in some albums and not others

    Some albums are showing the songs with the artist underneath. In Lady Gaga's album grid it is like this
    Song: 'Bad Romance'
    Artist:  Lady Gaga
    Then other album grid its just the song title. Why is that? I would like it one or the other. I have OCD when it comes to things like this.

    that happens to me too.I think its because when it happens to me its because theres more than 2 artists (not bands or stuff)or the cd has been burned so it is not the original.

  • Why do I receive "4.3.2 connection rate limit exceeded" error message using the mail merge extension and what can be done about it?

    I am using TB 31.3.0 with Mail Merge 3.9.1. I routinely send an email to 435 members of an volunteer emergency responders group that I coordinate. I do so using a .csv list with mail merge. While there were no problems in the past, more recently the mail merge function will hang after sending a varied number of messages successfully and I get the following error message:
    "An error occurred sending mail. The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: 4.3.2 connection rate exceeded.."
    There is an "OK" button in the error message pop up that can be clicked to resume the mail merge process. It would appear that if I click the "OK" button immediately whenever the error message is received I must do so frequently and some members do not receive their email. If I delay clicking the "OK" button, I found that I only needed to click the "OK" button twice to send to all the members.
    An on line search suggests this is the result of some sort of throttling by my ISP, Sonic.net. There is also this comment: "If you are receiving this error, you are likely using mailing list software which cannot decipher the temporary fail codes. If so, you will need to set your software to slow down its delivery rate and/or reduce the number of active connections per remote host."
    I am not super technical. Is it realistic to think that I can tweak mail merge to that I do not have to babysit my email to this group?

    then I suggest you send using a mail provider that is not actively trying to block your outgoing mail. Or use a yahoo / google groups mailing list feature so you only send a single mail.
    Or use a free account from the likes of http://www.ymlp.com/ who limit free account mailing lists to 1000 subscribers. ( Googled them this morning)

    And by using the same Apple ID you can also share purchases.  If you have a different Apple ID for each iPhone then you can't share purchases.

    There is no way to change the default font in the mail app. You can make the type larger by using the accessibility feature of larger text. Settings>General>Accessibility>Larger Text. There is an app that allows you to add fonts to the iPad, but I do not think this works with the built in iOS apps such as mail.

    Homestly haven't a clue what's going on there. 
    Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
    (On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
    (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
    For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

    thanks so much for your posts back. I really appreciate it and yes that does help to know that you could not get it working.
    I did have some success, in removing the SSL Authentication checkbox in the smtp server settings - I found that this allowed my friend to be able to send mail from the mail app via his sbcglobal (yahoo) account.
    So that did help but of course the messages do not have ssl encryption and I'm not sure how big a deal that is for an individual. He is able to receive mail but unless the SSL authentication box is unchecked, he cannot send.

    I've been trying to build a production management system slowly over the last few months, my boss is a bit of a technophobe so I've been trying as hard as i can to keep everything in familiar programs, at its core all the system has to do its take information in from Purchase Orders, this is added to a Numbers File, within that numbers file are our Open Order Book showing All orders and 2 "Merge Sheets" all new Orders are Added to the Merge Sheets then onto the Open Order Sheet, those "merge sheets" are then used as a data source for a Pages file "Job Card" (we have 2 job card files once blue one yellow but the process is the same)
    Up until now I've been manually merging each time we get a new order, but this happens a lot so what I've been trying to do is Automate the procedure.
    Ive created 2 Automator Apps  each runs the same sequence just for the two different Job cards as follows:
    Get finder Item "Job_Card_Blue/Yellow" > Open Finder Item > a "watch me do" of mail merge > Print > Close Application without saving
    The Problem is the Watch me do is a bit of a clunky work around, if I could make it work without the mouse moving over the screen it wouldn't be so bad, even if I could somehow give Mail Merge a Keyboard Short Cut it would also be better.
    So my questions, after a large ammount of waffling:
    1) is there a way i can "see" and then edit the "watch me do" Script?
    2) is there a simpler work around im not seeing?
    3) is there an existing script of program I can use? (obviously i know there is Filemaker etc, if it was up to me I'd use a Database, but the owner of company is adimant i use office or easy programs, becuase it needs to be a system i can leave to him once my contract is up)
    Any Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Yes I've created an Automator Application that does the job, but the "watch me do" function that does the Mail Merge is a rather Clunkey work around, as the mouse moves all over the place, thats the part i want to remove and replace with a script, or work out a different way around it that avoids the "watch me do" function.
    Is this Possible? or where/who is there i can ask to write me a script, im not a novice to scripting, but i am a novice to Applescript.
