Can you run an executable without the entire run-time engine?

We have a 8.2.1 LabVIEW compiler that we have made our program with, but we need to use an NT computer to run it on.  Is there a way to get the 8.2.1 runtime manager to work with it or can we use an older version?  Or are we simply out of luck?

I have no idea if this still works, but you could try the method described by Waldemar in this old post:
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=46409#M46409
It seems you might even be able to run things directly from the CD. Sorry, never even tried any of this. Good luck!

After scanning a document, I save the file in a PDF format. When attaching the PDF file to a New message it appears on the entire page instead of a PDF icon link that the recipient can click on to open. Why can't I get the PDF file to appear in a icon format? Thank you.

Control mouse click the document and select View as icon.

  • Can you listen to music without the headphones?

Can you listen to music on the iPod Classic without the headphones?

The Classic does not have an internal speaker, so either you need to:
    plug in headphones
connect the iPod to an amplifier and speakers (from the headphone socket)
connect it to an iPod Dock cable and plug that into an amplifier
Place the iPod into the Dock on something that has a Dock connector and amplifier built in.

  • Can you control servo valves without the PID toolkit?

I need to be able to control servo valves using labview, but I don't have the PID toolkit. Is there an alternate way to control servo valves without the toolkit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Well first thing is to get a basic understanding of what a PID controller is doing. There is some discussion about PID on the NI web site, and a search of the net will also provide much information. What you are controlling with your valves will determine the complexity of your control solution and whether learning just the basics of control theory and PID in particular or whether you need to know more. It really isn't wasted effort, any success in implementing a PID control system, regardless of purchased toolkit or "roll it yourself" will need you to understand that basics. Even if you had picked up someone elses project that was complete except for "tuning" the system you would find that getting the system to run the way you need it to requires some knowledge and frequently a lot of patience. Good luck and keep asking questions.

  • Can you send ipod back without the earphones?

Im going to send my ipod to apple to check it out but do you need to include everything else like the usb and earphones when you send it?

From the iPod Service FAQ: "Please do not send any accessories with your iPod as they will not be returned." Apple will return only an iPod, so you'll lose anything else you send to them.

  • Can you download iOS updates without the iPhone connected to your computer?

I'm trying to do the iOS 8 update for my phone - "Download Only" - and the pop-up window says "32 hours remaining!" Is there a way for me to continue the download without having the iPhone itself connected to iTunes?

Probably. Didn't try that myself, but once the download is going your iPhone should not need to remain connected.

  • HT1766 can you have multiple iPhones in the same iTunes account without overwriting each phones content?

Can you have multiple iPhones in the same iTunes account without overwriting each phones content?

    Hi sandexpress,
As Ocean20 indicates, you want to make sure that you have automatic syncing turned off. In iTunes Preferences under Devices, make sure you have "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. Then connect each iPhone, and make sure that "Manually Manage Music and Videos" is checked on the Info page for each of them. Then go into each page for each device, and select what you want to sync to that particular device. (you would do this one device at a time - complete the steps for one of the phones, then connect the next one and do the same thing).
With this kind of setup, you can modify what will sync at any given time for a particular device once you have connected it to iTunes, but before you click on the Sync button at the bottom of the screen. If you want to change some sync options on a particular device, you would just go into the page you wanted to change (Music, Photos, Apps, etc.), make your changes, and then Sync.
If you do not have any changes, you can just hook up the phone and click on Sync.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • How do I run my application without the java prefix?

Hi, I am new to Java but have been created some cool applications that run in the terminal.
The problem is that every time I run my program I have to type "java +<program name>+", even after I compile the program with javac.
My question is how do I make it so I can just type "<program name>" without the prefix of "java"?

Write a shell script that includes the command you want to run.
    Edited by: pbrockway2 on Apr 5, 2008 3:27 PM
I guess you're using Windows (or you wouldn't be asking ;). If so, shell scripts are called "batch files". Have a read of this:
(Executable jar files are another approach, but they are quite a bit more work. If your intention is to run a particular command like
java MyAppthen a batch file is easiest.)

  • Run labview executable without installing

    Hi
We need t run a LabVIEW executable without the need to install the runtime engine first.
In fact we use a LabVIEW program to distribute LabVIEW within our company.
We add our own library and a special license request form and make it possible to install a LabVIEW development environment
with only the push of one button.
In LV8.2 however this no longer works. First the runtime environment has to be installed before we can run our LabVIEW application.
    Previous LabVIEW versions worked OK.
Are we missing an option in the installer somewhere or can somebody show the way to make this work again otherwise we have to keep 8.01 until infinity....
    greetings from the Netherlands

    Hi Albert,
Long time no see... Perhaps at the user group meting okt. 5?
We (Andre) did some experiments with this just last week. He copied everything from the normal installation directory (program files) runtime directory to a new directory on a clean PC. In the same directory he put an executable, and it did run properly (although I think he also copied the models directory to get proper control images).
Only thing is that at the startup of the exe, we get a dialog "Installing...". Still working on that. This might even work from a CD...
He made a big effort to remove all previous LabVIEW stuff, but to be honest, we didn't try it on a completelly "clean" system.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

how can i use my account without the billing info, as i do not have a credit card. and my shipping and billing info is under US. i'm in singapore. how do i change this?

If you are just visiting Singapore, then leave the account as it is. If you have moved there, then view your account using the iTunes app on a Mac or PC and change the country/region to your current location and address. If you do not have a bank card, you can fund your account using iTunes gift cards if available in Singapore.

  • How many times can you clean install leopard on the same computer?

How many times can you clean install leopard on the same computer? Will the leopard dvd run out of installations and not let you install anymore?

    Hi colman Prez;
Now that the funny comments have been made, I have a serious question and that why are you worry about reinstalling Leopard with an Erase & Install which is what I take that you mean when you say clean install. In actually fact there is no such thing in OS X as a clean install.
I am curious because in all the years I have used OS X, I have yet to do an Erase & Install yet.
I know with Windows that they suggest reformatting and reinstalling at the drop of a hat but that isn't true with OS X.

  • How can I use Office Update without the Office CD?

How can I use Office Update without the Office CD? On the microsoft website I've clicked the options which mean I shouldn't need the CD (which wasn't supplied with the laptop), but poartway through updating the service pack I get a request for the Office 2000 Professional CD.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Did you mean a Office or One Note?
As far as I know the One Note is a part of the Recovering Image and the CD is not delivered with the unit. Furthermore the Toshiba units are not delivered with the Office 2000 software.
Nevertheless, did you check the update function in the Help i.e. in Word?
There you will find a options called Check for Updates
