Canada Post Mississauga PO

I have been having a problem with Parcels getting stuck in the Mississauga PO. The last Parcel I had cleared Customs on June 2/3 and was handed over to CP for shipping. It sat there till last Friday before it started moving again. I had the Seller from Germany put a search on it to get it moving twice. I was not sure if he was doing it so I told him in a nice way I would be looking for a Refund as it was almost 8/9 days over the expected arrival time and this time it worked and the Parcel is moving finally. This is not the first time this has happened with  a Parcel coming from Europe. I have not bought any thing from the US because of the GSP and I refuse to pay customs on items that do not even have duties.

That I under stand with that PO but with that many workers 3 weeks is too long to sit around. Before I retired they used to say to us how many workers work here and the answer would be may be 50 %.When you look up the tracking info the information you see on the Canada Post website is not accurate. The way it is posted it makes you think that the parcel has cleared customs and is back in the hands of the postal delivery end of things. In fact, your parcel sat in customs the entire time. That is where the delay was. Trust me, I have absolutely no love for Canada Post but I have researched this issue extensively and that is what I have discovered. It would be quite uncommon for a parcel to sit with CP for 3 weeks just waiting to go out for delivery. Not having seen your tracking info I can still with almost 100% certainty say that the package was i9ndeed stuck in customs and not sitting with CP. To add insult to injury if you call CP and Customs they play a great game of "it's their fault" pointing the finger at eachother and neither will actually confirm who has your package. It was only through my contact with some chatty employees that I discovered the truth. Cheers, thD

  • HT2490 Is there a way to change the USPS Trcking information (Track Shipment) to track with Canada Post?

When I order something online, they send a tracking number in an email. When I hover over the number, it offers to track the package for me and opens up in USPS. I am Canadian, and would like to use this option, but with Canada Post.
When I click it now, of course USPS can not find the tracking information so I must copy and paste the number in to Canada Post's website. Not a huge deal, but it would be really great to have the shortcut option that American's have.
    Thanks for any help!

Odds are the installer is a 16-bit program from the DOS or Windows-95 era; they won't run on 64-bit Windows. I've been trying to get Carmageddon running on my laptop and while the program itself seems to be 32-bit I can't install it because the installer appears to be 16-bit.
If it's not CPU-intensive and you have an old Windows 95/98 serial and CD available then you could try installing the version of Windows in a program like VirtualBox; I was able to run Carmageddon that way, but it was too slow to be playable.

  • Canada post email scam and my mac

    Hello Everybody,
Today I'm a little freaked, I loaned my macbook pro (2010, OSX 10.6) to my mom to write up some emails. She was checking her email's (hotmail) junk folder and saw this Canada Post email. She clicked both links, but closed them before typing/or presumably downloading anything. I've ran Calmxav through pretty much the entire computer, and all that has come up is a bunch of Heuristic.Phishing.email.SpoofedDomain emlxs(sp?) Are these safe?should I buy Norton? I want to make sure that there is no problem sending out online banking stuff or sending out infected emails to my teacher's pcs for assignments.
    Thanks
Oh also, I have norton 360 Everywhere for my Pc laptop, and desktop, but I can't install it on 10.6 (it needs 10.7) will upgrading To mountain lion (10.8) all my to install it on my mac? And is the full software upgrade in the app store? If that's a stupid question, I'm sorry I'm used to pcs requiring me to spend a hundred bucks or so on upgrading to a new platform...

I didn't think anything has been infected, but how would I know if there was an infection? and for future reference, so I understand and can relate it to my mom, does clicking the link just lead to a download/form to enter info, or is the hyper link itself a virus infected link?
    Thanks for the response

  • "Track Shipment" is iOS4 does not work for Canada Post tracking numbers

Not 100% sure this is the best forum to post this but couldn't find an iOS specific forum.
When an email arrives with a shipment tracking number embedded in it, iOS4 is smart enough to recognize it and turn it into a link. You click the link, select "Track Shipment" and in theory you get sent off to the appropriate shipment tracking website.
Problem is that this does not work for Canada Post tracking numbers, I get sent to the USPS tracking site instead of the Canada Post one. I assume that the number format is similar but there must be a way to distinguish between CPC tracking numbers and USPS tracking numbers (by range ?).

This has since become working in 4.0 and higher.
I noticed I now get a notes folder for each of my email accounts (ie. in my case; MobileMe gets one, Gmail gets another, and Virgin Media a yet another). And all three since accordingly correctly between Notes mailbox on iPhone 4 and it's counterpart Notes mailbox in the mac mail app under Reminders section.
Additionally, just like other main mailboxes (inbox, drafts, sent, trash, junk), they also have a "unified" box at the top in both mac and iphone, in order to view notes in all email accounts at the same time.
Hooray Apple, shame it took so long, but at least it's here now

  • Safari client certificate problem w/ Canada Post website

I am using OSX 10.8.5 and Safari 6.1.1
I'm trying to use the Canada Post website for online shipping (ship-in-a-click) via the site:
    http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/tools/cst/intro-e.asp
When I choose my option (in this case INTERNATIONAL) a pop-up opens asking to select a client certificate. A list of five certificates, which are all apparently valid and not expired, is given. No matter which certificate I select I cannot get past this pop up window. It just pops back up again.
The certificates are all in the form:
com.apple.idms.appleid.prd. then a very lengthy alpha numeric string
From what I have read with certificate problems you can just delete them and next time you visit the site will ask you to select a new one. However, in this case, with all the certificates seemingly being valid, I don't think that will be the solution. Although, I am a complete novice when it comes to these issues.
Can anybody suggest something other than using Firefox/Chrome etc. although if that is the ONLY choice then so be it. But surely this can be solved within Safari, no? The rest of the Canada Post site seems to behave OK with Safari.
    Thank you.

Neither.  I am on Mavericks and it shows the exact same issue, so it neither fixes the problem or intoduces new ones, at least with my site.
I also noticed that it is somewhat based on the loction (IP) of the server because on my local laptop (During development) and on our QA server would try and send a certificate that it should not send.  HOWEVER once we implemented the SSL client certificate on our production server it would no longer send the certificate.  I have no idea why and speculate that it is because our production server has a public IP.
If you want you can use my site and see if the problem persists for you there (http://whf.to); however given the seemingly random why Safari decides to send certificates you may or may not see the issue.  If Safari does indeed send a certificate you should get an error page that details what happened (in somewhat lay-terms).
Sorry that Mavericks doesn't fix the issue for you.

  • USPS service instead of Canada Post from Canada to the US

I am happy to report that I will abandon Canada Post for most of my delivery starting in a few days. After searching for more than 1 year a way to get US packages cheaper and with tracking (It cost me about 17$ to get tracking on a 400 gram shirt) I have found a service provider, 5 minutes driving distance from my house on top of that, who will be offering USPS delivery service. He will have a truck that will go to the US once per day. Cost of that same shirt, with tracking, 7$. I spend about 800$ per months in delivery fees and Canada Post will loose that. I am sure they don't care but I will care to save more than 70% on each delivery! I will keep using Canada Post for their expedited delivery service in Canada but that only counts for about 10% of my business!
    Good times ahead!

I hoped, after reading your post, that you might be somewhere close to me but alas you are in Quebec. In Toronto here it appears that we only have Chit Chats Express to deal with and my own experience with them has been very much less than favorable. Anyway, best of luck mate Cheers, thD

  • Canada Post Alert re July 18 & 19 (upcoming weekend)

For anyone who "didn't get the memo" from Canada Post, I thought I'd post it here, as it could inconvenience or confuse some sellers over this coming weekend: "The following services will be unavailable Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, July 19 while we perform essential maintenance:canadapost.ca – new profile creation, changes to existing profiles and access to FlexDeliveryepost.ca – all servicesWe apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your patience."

Oh yes..... it's all coming back to me now. The last time Canada Post announced a planned outage, I recall it went twice as long and ran into a second day of work stoppage for all online tools. Mobile wasn't affected at the time. I use the Canada Post website for two things and two things only: 1. To give my domestic buyers an EXACT delivery estimate in terms of business days for their package as I might be the only seller annoyed by the vagueness of ebay.ca's 'one to eight business days' which is neither accurate nor truthful as the 'one' is only good if a buyer lives, like, next to me and delivery to remote and northern communities in Canada takes up to and including 13 or even 14 business days from my location; and 2. HS Codes for international shipments. I need those codes for customs and, as I discovered the last time there was an outage, there may be other places online to find the codes but I am leery as to their trustworthiness. At least one code I found on an alternate site was not the same as another I'd used before. If it's a random website providing the information, what is it to them to give the wrong code? Suddenly, an innocent box of diecast cars destined for New Zealand has been commandeered at the border for having been declared as containing live bull frogs or something.  Naturally, I am being somewhat facetious.  Does anyone have an alternate site for HS Codes up their sleeve? Thanks.

  • Shipped using Canada Post, but the package is lost? What to do?

Well around a month ago I've shipped a coin to a buyer of mine which cost her around $110, and $15 to ship.
Although the Canada Post workers told me they're unable to find the coin. What do I do?
This is the first time I'm facing an issue such as this.

My loss rate for (receiving) packages, domestic and international  is precisely 0%.   And I'm talking a lot of packages.
Lots of different venues, especially numerous baby sites the past couple of years, and they're mostly in the  US.   No issues, except one lampe berger broken due to faulty pkg'ng, and replaced by seller immediately.  (returned the rattling box without even opening it)
I opt out of insurance when possible; absolutely no value to me ( or seller).
i had to put in a claim for a missing parcel that I shipped a couple of years ago, but the delayed-somewhere Christmas gift did eventually make its way to Georgia before anything ever came of my  claim.
So, my success rate for both receiving and shipping .. 'many' packages is locked on 100%.
(which means I need to go immediately to pray to the goddess of Murphy's Law for continued success  in case I've  just jinxed myself

  • Shipping Woes in canada

Ok. I know a similar question has been asked many times before but really, how to deal with the outrageous shipping rates by Canada post that are nothing short of highway robbery? Just shipped an item that barely weighed more than 300 grams to Alberta (from BC) and was shocked when they told me the shipping cost was $13. That's like 40% of what I sold the item for (offered free shipping). So, after all fees I ended up making a net profit of $10 on the $35 sale !!! So, what if I sell something a lot heavier? How can we make any money with these outrageous rates? I thought about going to the US to ship -since I'm only about 15 minutes from the border- but the US customs told me I'd have to pay like $10 if I bring stuff with me with the intent to ship it from there. So yeah, how the hell can we make any money here?

So, what if I sell something a lot heavier?   1) Buy your shipping through paypal -- Expedited parcel gets around a 15% discount (ignore regular parcel since it is not any cheaper and has fewer benefits). 2) If under 500g AND less than 2cm thick you can ship using oversize lettermail2015 rates:
    051-100g .. 1.80
    101-200g .. 2.95
    201-300g .. 4.10
    301-400g .. 4.70
401-500g .. 5.05Not insured, but rates are good for all of Canada (unlike parcel rates which vary by location). 3) Know where the price weight breaks are for sending a Canada Post parcel. Your 300g item would cost the same as a 600g item as they both would be on the first level of under 750g, next level is under 1 kg, then every 500g above that is a new price level. To a max of 30kg. 4) Small is good.  Point 3 is modified by dimensional (volumetric weight equivalent) surcharges if your package is too large. Canada Post and most other shippers (UPS, Fedex, etc) now charge this. Calculated for expedited parcel as volume in cm / 6000 = adjusted weight.  --  so a 30x30x30cm box would be treated as 4.5kg, even it only weighs 1kg. So make sure your item is not too large when packaged. 5) Use calculated shipping when listing. This does mean you have to have good idea what the parcel will weigh and how big the parcel will be. It has the advantage that you do not need to worry about parcel shipping costs to remote areas. 6) If not using PayPal to ship, then sign up for Canada Post's "Solutions for Small Business" (formerly called VentureOne) program, which gives you some discounts (and allows you to buy Expedited parcel at the PO counter for the same price as regular parcel).   More reading: www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/manual/pgabcmail-e.asp

  • How do you change the track shipment shortcut in canada?

Anyone know how to change the track shipment shortcut from USPS to Canada Post? Love the feature, but useless to me if it cannot be changed. Any help would be great! Thanks!!

I hear ya! I was going to suggest that you send your feedback to the Apple Feedback link, but it was centered around Product feedback, and I couldn't find any other feedback link that was really realted to your issue....
So, I've put the Contact link here in case you want to contact them anyway. That way you can decide which would be the most effective route:
    http://www.apple.com/contact/
Take it easy, and hope you can get through to someone to see if this couldn't be fixed....

  • ITunes 7.+Compatability with Ask the DJ 3rd post--getting nowhere

A problem came up with my new MBP. When transfer a group of songs to be crossfaded & matched from iTunes 7.+ to Ask the Dj (ATDJ), the song/s playback on ATDJ garbled & then stops. Can't mix them now to match BPM & volumn and crossfade. These songs are ripped from CDs & other downloads. Any suggestions.

Did you use a tracked service like Regular Parcel on this $30 item?If so, when the item is delivered the postie will mark it delivered. After that, the twit is on his own.Give him the tracking number and the Canada Post website (canadapost.ca) so he can see for himself. If not, he will have to talk to his upstairs neighbour, who I presume picks up and passes on all his mail, and let them know he is expecting a parcel. Let him know what the package looks like (kraft envelope/ white paper/ PO box/ poly envelope). Oh and add him to your Blocked Bidder List. Too much drama.

  • Canada Address Cleanse Logic

    Hello,
Is there anyone here familiar with the Canada Address Cleanse transform/dictionary. I am trying to cleanse a few badly formed addresses and can't seem to.
For example if I have a valid postal code but no city and province, I would assume I would get at least this information back. I have tried running the same information through the global suggestion list transform. I actually get city back but not province.
It seems very strange to me that it would not solve this simple look-up, or am I expecting too much logic from these cleansing transforms.
    Bill

    Paul,
Thanks again for responding to one of my questions. I did come to that conclusion about the engine after running a bunch of different tests. Also I did begin to hard code the FSA map into a query transform.
I must say I am surprised that there is no post code reverse look-ups. I have worked with the data direct from Canada Post before and we were able to implement this logic in other applications, programmatically of course.
Is it mentioned anywhere in some documentation what look-ups each postal engine does perform?

  • What day will the iPhone 4S be delivered in Canada?

I placed the pre-order of the iPhone 4S WHITE 64gb today and now i'm set!
But I thought the delivery would be ON the day of Oct 14TH?
When I placed the order it now says
    "Delivery: October 24th-31st."
Anyone have any ideas of when te iPhone will be delivered?
On Oct 14th or do I have to wait an extra week or 2?!

Apple Canada will begin the process of shipping out pre-orders starting on October 14th. On that date, Apple will physically process the order and will have Canada Post (or whoever they contract out their shipping to) pick up the order. It will then take Canada Post some time to move the package from Apple's warehouse to your door. Apple estimates that entire process will take one to two weeks - hence their estimated delivery date to your door of October 24th to 31st.
The only way you will be able to get an iPhone 4S into your hands on the release date of October 14th will be to join the lineup at one of the Apple Stores and buy it there.

  • For the 3rd post I need help..

Ok so I realized I was posting on a no fb account for some reason.. Basically my story goes like this , I've started selling on eBay again. I recently got a very new buyer Contacting me every 10 min asking me questions after purchasing an item such as what is the condition does it work etc.. He then paid 3 days later he has 0 fb.. He asked me 1 day after he will get the item I explained he will get it in the mail box .. He said what if I'm not home I said no the key mailbox that everyone shares the brown one with the slots.. It took me about a day of messaging back and forth how it works.. The next day he says he lives in the basement of a house and there renting .. I ask if he has access to the mailbox we talk about ... Nop he doesn't... So I tell him to ask the owner . For the key It's been 7 days now ( 5 business days) he said he checked the box and it has not arrived.. He lives 2 hours from me So I'm assuming it was there a day after I shipped maybe 2.  Does anyone know what happens if mail stays in the big slot of the mailbox for more than a few days is it returned to the owner? I ask this because there are so many people getting mail now and there are only 2 big slots for a whole street! I really don't want to light 30$ on fire because this guy had no clue what he was doing.

  • US selling to Canada

I'm hoping that you can help me with a tax issue I'm having We are having issues determining the tax when selling from the US a Canadian customer when the Tax Jur. Code is Canadian e.g 'CAPA' The condition on the customer sales is UTXJ.' Background: Current environment we have a Sales Org 3510 assigned to a US company code. They have been selling successfully determining the Canada sales tax.  So for example Quebec Canadian sales tax will sales  still has to be charge. Under the Customer 'General Data' screen the Tax Jurisdiction was "CN0110000" which is a US code  In the sales view  UTXJ is the value as this is assigned to the country of the company code. This all worked fine   The problem is we are introducing an Canadian company.  Importantly the decision has been made to share customers.  Now because of the tax setup customers with a  Canadian address can now only select Canadian Tax Jurisdiction codes in the address e.g CAPQ. This is the only value permitted in the drop down. So we don't have a mixture of some Canadian customer with the US Tax Jur. Code and other with the Canadian Tax Jur code it was decided to update all Canadian customers with the Canadian Jur. This meant that a customer that had 'CN0110000' will now be changed to 'CAPQ' But the tax code assigned in the Sales view determined from the country of the company code so the tax code is still UtXJ. What do we need to do so I can charge tax of 5% for Quebec? I'm struggling to know what to do to determine the tax. Canadian Tax is condition CTXJ but the Sales Org has a condition UTXJ. We can add the condition CTXJ to the pricing procedure but it wont find a valid record because it wants to use UTXJ. UTXJ cannot be used because now the Tax Jur. Code on the customer 'address is CAPQ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards

You have to be using the longer Sell Listing form in order to gain access to USD but you won't be able to revise any current active listings. Currency has to be set as the item is listed or relisted. Please also consider there are Pros and Cons to USD as well as CAD. If you expect your item will sell to an American, then USD is the way to go but the currency conversion may be a buzzkill for any Canadian bidders you might have.  Also, you pay a higher rate to paypal as it is a foreign currency. This should be factored into the fees you expect to pay.  As an aside, I had a gander at one of your listings and saw this about postage: "Please note due to the size of these train cars the box for packing will have to be large hence the higher shipping costs. The costs shown in the listing are just a quote and depending on the location may indeed be cheaper but will not be any higher." It's better to find the box it will go into and set Calculated shipping with weight and metric dimensions both via Canada Post. You may be needlessly turning off bidders who shirk at the postage cost and then also you may be setting expectations that postage will be discounted even when it hits cost.  Good luck as you carry forward.
