Cannot change default passivation table/sequence (PS_TXN, PS_TXN_SEQ)

Hi All , i have the following problem:
I'm preparing the ADF/ADF Faces Application to run in failover mode.
One of the problems which i have is that after turning-on the Application Modules failover mode,
the application performance decrease significantly. I found-out that the Application passivates very intensively using (PS_TXN) table
(there are entered more than 30 records per user, only by navigatiing between 2-3 pages).
To increase the performance I'm trying at least to separate the Application Modules to use different tables for passivation.
I'm trying to do that by changing jbo.txn_table_name and jbo.txn_seq_name per different application modules.
However the Application continue using PS_TXN only.
Can somebody give an advice ?

OK, this clears things up a bit.
If you set jbo.dofailover="true" this means that each time an application module is returned to the application module pool in managed state (default state) it gets saved in the db in the ps_txn table. This is the reason why you see so many entries in the table (essentially it's like working without pooling, well, not quite but in a way).
Fail over has the advantage that the state of the module can be reconstructed (even on an other server in the cluster) at any time. Disadvantage is that it take time to store the data in the ps_txn table.
We turned this feature off for all non critical apps as the unscheduled server downtime is <1%. In case of a failure the loss of data is tolerable to our users (their decision).
If I remember correct, you can move all state related stuff into an other db (using an other connection) by setting the jbo.server.internal_connection="conn_to_db" parameter in the configuration of your application. After setting this up the ps_txn table should be created in the other schema.
You should see a better performance this way. If this fulfill your needs is an other question.

Cannot change default email when using MDM

I use an MDM (AirWatch) to setup Exchange ActivSync email for all my users. It sets up a profile with the user's email. If they have other personal email addresses on the phone, they cannot change the default email to Exchange email that I setup through the MDM. It is not an option in the Settings-Mail/Contacts/Calendars-Default Account field.
The option to change the default account for the default Calendar is there, but not for email.
When I email by clicking on an email address in a website it opens Mail, but the Exchange email is not option.
If I manually setup the Exchange email I can select it as default.
If there are no other personal emails setup the Exchange that is setup from the MDM it will mail from that account.
Any thoughts?

I figured out the issue. The MDM (AirWatch) has a feature of the ActivSync setup called "Prevent use from third party apps"
This stops the Exchange ActivSync email account from being able to be set as the default account Settings-Mail/Contacts/Calendars-Default Account field.
I do not know why they think that the Safari browser built into the phone as a "third party app" but atleast we are working.

Please tell me that I am missing something. Although I have my doubts, since I've been looking last ten minutes. Not a word in a manual or book I have about the topic, so I guess it will be no ...
If true, this is so lame. Why in the world would that be one of the things Apple would restrict. Unbelievable, they really have made a lot of strange software decisions lately. I guess the iPhone people are taking over indeed.

Yup, it can't be changed. No version of FCE has had this feature.
FCPro allows this feature.
You can create Favourite transitions and add them the Browser>Favourites Bin. Not exactly default but they're easily accessed.

Cannot change default checkout form

I've hit a really bizarre problem with the checkout form for my live site. No matter how I try to customize it or swap it out, the original default form always appears when customers checkout from the shopping cart.
This is what I've tried:
(1) Customizing the default form in the Module Layouts view to remove redundant payment options and the credit card processing fields because I don't need them.
Result = changes appear in the Module Layout view but the form customers get is still the default form with none of my changes.
(2) Creating a new form in the Web Forms section and inserting it in the Module Layout section for the Purchase–Buy form. I've tried both inserting the form so that the data is visible in the layout and inserting it as a module.
Result = changes appear in the Module Layout view but the form customers get is still the default form with none of my changes.
(3) In desparation I have even deleted the original Online Shop Purchase form from the list of forms in the Web Forms section.
Result = The system still presents the default form to customers on checkout
(4) I've tried resetting my browser to remove history and cookies.

I'm a complete Newbie but I've understood enough to be able to create the site and everything else is wokring fine. I know I must be missing something here but I can't for the life of me work out what has gone wrong.
I'm using Mac OS X v.10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.1 to access and work on BC.
Any help and advice will be gratefully received.

You have got yourself into a little bit of a mess there.
This is how the payment form works.
The payment form is a web form and that is in web forms.
The payment page for eCommerce sits under the registration buy layout but you also have the quote layout as well if there qre quotes.
The form form html (not module) is placed into the registration buy layout it is used differently by the system.
If you make modifications to the form itself under more customisation options for example this will not update the html of the form until you go to the registration buy layout.
This is easier to manage Via FTP as well.
You mention Module Layout but what layout? As mentioned there is no module layout, it is under eCommerce layouts.

Cannot change default browser???

When I try to get on the internet it says “this is a wifi service, please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again” but do not even have wifi on… I have always used internet browser..it always worked fine… now when I try to change the default browser to that I cant, my only option is hotspot browser?? What can I do?

Cannot change default country code?

I'm using the latest version of Skype App on my iPhont 4s. The country code keeps +41 inside dialing tab, no matter how many calls I made. It's so annoying, because I've to change it every time before I dial. Would anyone knows how to change it? I searched it on Google, but no luck. Thanks

Its not a bug but wrong implementation by Skype. Skype would by default use regional code of iOS but they should have provided some way to override this , since people obviously buy skype to call other regions that they are not staying in. Anyway, lets go straight to fix. To change this in IOSGo to Settings --> General --> Internaltional --> Region Formatselect Country you want DEFAULT code code for in SkyPe Restart Skype .hope this helps. I run v6.0.2, and cannot change default browser yahoo to Google

I have tried using the method suggested i.e about:config and Keyword change, but although the data is changed to www.google.com/search?q= I still get Yahoo as my search engine.
I run win 7 64 bit.

Cannot change default ringtone

In settings I can place a checkmark by, and hear different ringtones, but the ringtone I hear when it is used by something never varies, regardless of the one I have checked in settings.

Update: As of this morning, the chosen ring tone was working - except when my husband calls. The only thing I can think of is that he was the only contact who had a different ring tone previous to my factory reset. I already had the appointment at the Apple Store, so I went in. They did another complete reset, and restored as a new phone instead of an existing phone. Told me to come home and sync/restore and it should fix it, but if not we go to "Plan B". Didn't say what Plan B is - but I am going to have to go in and find out, as I'm still having the issue of the built in default ring tone when my husband calls.

Mac OSX Reader 10.1.2 – Cannot Change Default Printer From "Any Printer"

With Mac Acrobat Reader 9.x it was possible to use Page Setup to set the default printer from “Any Printer” to one of our choice. Once set it was possible to print many documents without having to go back and reset it every time. In other words it would ‘remember’ the setting.
Mac Acrobat Reader 10.1.2 does not remember the setting of the printer in the Page Setup dialogue and keeps reverting to "Any Printer" between printing; either from the same document or multiple documents. Thus on each occasion I need to print I need to go to Page setup and reselect the printer. Irritating, and time wasting.
Now this would not matter if there were not a slight, but nevertheless significant, improvement in print quality between a document printed with the correct printer and “Any Printer” selected in Page Setup.
NOW, before you all jump in with suggestions read this:
1: I do have the printer selected as the default printer in System Preferences (no difference anyway).
2: Selecting printer in the Print dialogue makes no difference to the print quality. It MUST be selected in Page Setup.
ADOBE, can you please get Mac Acrobat Reader X (10.x) to revert to the same behaviour as Reader 9.x ?

The same problem exists in Reader 11.0 for Mac. In my case, it defaults to our specialty photo printer instead of the workhorse laserprinter.

So when I start IE7 it throws an error "Can't find this" and then works fine thereafter.
If I change default to "about:blank" it is ok for the IE7 session but does not persist. The next time I start IE7, it is back to the garbage URL http://http//
Norton chat cannot tell me if Norton 360 is blocking my attempt to reset the home page. It is not a problem of redirection of the home page.
Haven't been able to find string http://http// anywhere.

As far as a performance comparison goes, if there is one I have absolutely no idea. I will say this much; in my experience the ThinkVantage Technologies are good and they work, [can of worms just opened], I particularily like Access Connections.
If you are new to them then read up on them in Access Help or in the web, you will find masses of differing opinions.

We are trying to use the jbo.server.internal_connection property in the Business Components layer to change the database to which passivated application module data is written (PS_TXN table).
We have set the property to a valid data source using the JNDI name. The entry in the bc4j.xcfg file is as follows:

After making the change, when I run the application through my integrated WLS instance within JDeveloper, the first instance to passivate its data results in the necessary passivation database objects being created in the target instance (PS_TXN, PS_TXN_SEQ & PCOLL_CONTROL).
If however we then remove those objects from the target instance and run the application on our standalong WebLogic server we get an error accessing the application because the BC framework cannot find the PS_TXN table to write to. The following error appears in the log files:

My understanding is that it is the adfbc_create_statesnapshottables.sql script that creates these database objects. The description in the file is as follows:
"By default, BC4J will create these objects in the schema of the internal database user the first time that the application makes a passivation request. This script is intended for advanced users who require more control over the creation and naming of these objects."
My question then is why is this not happening when the application is run on the standalone WebLogic server but is happening when run on the integrated JDevelopers WLS?

The correct privileges exist for the schema used by the data source and we don't see any messages other than ORA-00942.

How to change default value in a table
I have a table TEST which has 2 fields CODE of Datatype VARCHAR2(10) and Indicator as VARCHAR2(1).
I want to change the default value using ALTER TABLE TEST of field Indicator to 'I'.
Any help will be needful for me

ALTER TABLE test
MODIFY (indicator DEFAULT 'I');
Incidentally, INDICATOR is a keyword in Oracle, so you may have problems using it as a column name. If so, you'll have to enclose the column name in double-quotes, and be careful to use capital letters inside the quotes.

Where is my text box in final cut pro? I cannot change the default text at all?

Hi, as the title says, I use a default final cut pro title or ending for a video and I cannot change the text, all youtube tutorials just show that you click on the text box, the boxes appear, and then to the right in the text window you literally just type and change it, which ive done several times before, but I just got a new mac, and now that is impossible to do, what can I do? I dont want to upload videos that say, TEXT GOES HERE

i think what you're gonna have to do is just hit command 4!
That should bring up the inspector where you can change the font!

Cannot Make changes directly to table's field data

I need to make changes to table e.g ekko but when I enter table, the change option is in display mode and I cannot make direct changes to the table. I need to update some data in a field. I checked other tables as well, but all have change option as display.
Is there any settings required to get the table in change mode?

I dont understand what to do in point 1, how to generate view of table, can you make it little easier to follow. I tried database table i.e. ekko and when I click change it asks access key, which I dont have as I guess I have to get it from SAP..

Verify: Cannot change sequence settings

So I just want to be sure that I understand this:
I cannot change the details of the sequence presets in FCE HD. Correct?
For example, I can choose the 'AIC 720p30' sequence preset, but I cannot change 30, to say 25?
If I have an existing clip (AIC codec, 1280x720 @ 25 fps) there is no way for me to bring this into FCE without the software rendering it (thus reducing the quality of the existing clip).
I just want to be sure I understand this correctly. I am very surprised that I cannot define sequence presets myself.

I'm a software developer and I can't tell you how surprised I was when I discovered this limitation. So I decided to try to understand how these presets were defined by FCE.
It is actually very easy (if you are technically inclined) to create your own presets in FCE.
1) Find the FCE HD application in your Finder
2) Right-click on this icon and select "Show Package Contents"
3) Naviate to Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Final Cut Express Settings/Hardware Settings
Inside this directory you will find *.fcpre files that define the presets for FCE HD.
I am not going to explain how to modify these files but those among you who understand file formats should easily be able to create your own presets (it took me about 15 minutes to create a 720p25 preset).

PS: Do *NOT* attempt this if you don't know what you are doing. At an absolute minimum, make a copy of FCE before you start mucking around - if you mess something up FCE will fail to launch.
