Cannot compile sample code

I am geeting the following results while compiling
the sample code for class generator. What am I doing wrong ?
I am using cygnus bash shell on NT 4.0 server.

Two possiblities come to mind. Are you using v1 of the XML
Parser as this is the one that works with the Class Generator?
Secondly, is you CLASSPATH set correctly to include the .jar
files?

I have the similar problem when I tried to compile sample code with C++ parser on WinNT4. I am using Micrsoft Visual Studio V6.0. I added the include file and lib file in the path.

Error while compiling CS5.5 sample code

Hi,
I have just started on using InDesign CS5.5. I am trying to compile the sample code on Windows 7 and with Visual Studio 2008. On compilation it is giving me an error of SDKLib.sdk.lib
"LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file '..\..\..\build\win\objr\SDKLib.sdk.lib'"
Have I missed some settings. I have set the Bin folder in the tools option. If anyone knows about this error please do let me know.

Sun ejb tutorial compilation problem with sample code

I have been trying to follow the ejb tutorial off of Sun's web site. However, I get the following problem when I try to compile the sample code.

Read the docs.
You call it like this:
javac -d targetDirectory MyClass.java
If MyClass.java is defined within a package "dog.cat", then javac will create appropriate subdirectories under the targetDirectory directory, and put the class file there. So the result of the above would create:
targetDirectory/dog/cat/MyClass.class
What you did was to tell javac to put compiled classes under a directory named "ContributorMgr.java", but then not to tell it to compile anything.
This is all covered in the docs!
You should really define a package for any non-trivial code.
Also your classpath should include the root directory of your package directory hierarchy.

But the problem is I cannot fint find DBManager.h. I read on a certain post we could use <occi.h> instead of dbmanager but then i get an error with the types
Dbmanager,OracleService and ResultSet. Can anyone please help me out , The code wont even build i am using Visual studio 2010 and i included all the header files.

This website has some sample codes that I want to run, but I'm getting errors. For the very first sample code, I removed ; in line 1 and it reduced number of errors. I can't post image because MS has to verify my account first.
Someone told me that this is missing MFC and main method. I googled and MFC is like SKD made by users. So, my guess is that I need to find the MFC this person used and include them as like #include ".h" and have int main(). Is this true? If it is
true where can I get the MFC? and how do I know which MFC this person used?
MFC stand for Microsoft Foundation Class Library is a library that wraps portions of the Windows API in C++ classes, including functionality that enables them to use a default application framework. To work on MFC you have to download Visual
Studio . As you are new to window So i will suggest you to start with VS2008 onward .And Before you start working with MFC have some fundamental of Win32 As well.

Can I use gcc to compile sample driver code?

Hi:
I am trying to compile the sample driver code using gcc.
I got lots of error messages while parsing header files under the sys/ directory.
Have I missed something?
Or does it mean that I have to use the cc compiler from Sun?
By the way, need I any tools other than the compiler if I want to develope Solaris driver?
Any replies would be appreciated.

I just found out this might be due to the conflicts between different OSs.
Becuase I usually work under the MicroSoft Windows enviroment, so I first downloaded and unzipped the sample code in Windows.
(I might have opened the file using Visual Studio, too.)
Then I copied the files to the Solaris environment and compiled them there.
In that case, lots of errors are found by the make utility and gcc.

Now I find myself in trouble becuase I have used Visual Studio to edit my own driver source file.

Issues in Deploying the Sample code

I downloaded BusinessObjects Enterprise Java SDK Sample Code from SDK Developer Library. I unzipped the content to a folder(Sample) in tomcat/webapps. Now when I launched the application using the following url http://localhost:8080/Sample/start.jsp
I am getting the following error.

Sample code for a custom field added to LIS Communication structure for Del

We appended a new custome field into extraction structure of the LO Cookpit datasource 2LIS_02_ITM through RSA6. And then run CMOD to write the exit code to populate the value and it works fine. But after we read Roberto's Weblog:

Find the enhancement we did can't make the Delta mechanism works if only this new field gets changed in a record, and the change cannot be reflected on BW. I know we can run SMOD on the enhancement LEINS001 to write the code for LIS Communication structure customer exit. But we have never writen such a code for LIS Communication Structure enhancement and also don't know on how to make the Delta mechanism works in the code. We would be very appreciated if some expert here can provide the sample code!

The compile of the above code works fine and we activated everywhere including project level. Then we set debug points in this code, and run RSA3 on 2LIS_02_ITM, but find the extraction program never reaches this code or call this user exit function EXIT_SAPLEINS_001 of this enhancement LEINS001. Any reason?

J2EE Tutorial sample codes question

I just started to catchup some tutorials' sample codes using J2EE tutorial, what happened when i tried to compile the first example called "Converter" EJB, using the command:

whats wrong actually? I also tried to put the ConverterClient.java into another directory, after compiled the rest, then i copied the file into the build folder and compile it manually, yet still getting this error. Please help!

CHLinguistic Sample code doesn't add languages

I have a problem with CHLinguistic speller example in Adobe InDesign CS3 version 5.0. Based on this sample code, I want to create a speller for Lithuanian language, a different one than provided by Proximity, but it seems I can't change the vendor. Different vendor doesn't show up in Edit->Preferences->Dictionary for spelling. When I compile and load CHLinguistic plug-in as it is, I do not see Aramaic, English Zambia, Bemba Zambia, Bemba Botswana, and I cannot change the vendor for Bulgarian or Hungarian language dictionary. What might be a problem?

How to create a database for sample code from Tutorial/Book?

I want to try out the sample code from [http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920013471.do] for the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed.
I have downloaded the oracle vm/appliance for oracle 11g2 and I have started sqlplus as sysdba.
I'm feeling overwhelmed with these links describing how to create a database:

(1) What is the command to list the existing databases?
(2) What is the command to delete an existing database?
(3) When creating a new database with the create database command, is it necessary to specify the logfile, character set, national character set, datafile, sysaux datafile, undo tablespace, temp table space? Do these have reasonable defaults? I'm not sure what proper directories are to specify for Linux and the examples are for windows.
Can someone give me a simplified create database command to create a database called 3rdEdPocketGuide? Should I follow the example at [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Oracle-7-HOWTO-3.html] and instead of orcl use 3rdEdPocketGuide?
(4) What command do I use to execute the script that comes with the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed? This is the script that has all the drop table, create table and insert commands in it.
(5) What command do I use in sqlplus to set the current default database prior to running this script? Perhaps this is the connect command? I don't want my script to create tables in the system database.
(6) I tried the command "connect 3rdEdPocketGuide" and it prompted for a password! Yikes! What password? Do I need to specify a password when I create a database? I cannot tell if I have successfully created such a database or it is just prompting me for a password to thwart malicious users. Is it is possible to create databases which don't require a password or maybe a zero length password?

So now what do I do? I want to create a bunch of tables using my script I downloaded from 3rd Ed SQL Pocket Guide. Does my new user "siegfried" have the right to create tables? I guess I could try but I don't want to create tables in the system database.
I noticed I can also use "Oracle SQL Developer" to connect with my new "siegfried" account. It seems that I should have been able to connect with sysdba... strange.
So now I am connected in the "Oracle SQL Developer" and I see no list of databases.

What does it take to run OTN sample code?

Do I have to install some kind of developers tool kit in order to compile and run the OTN and Oracle-install related sample code?
Also, I noticed that OTN only has toolkits for Oracle 9i, and nothing for Oracle 8i. Is Oracle abandoning 8i? Lots of us are not moving to 9i for some time, and abandoning 8i is not a swift idea. If we can not do what we need to do in 8i, we can always use Microsoft SQL Server, which we already have and are familiar with . . . There are those in the department that are using this to argue for a return to SQL Server.

I re-read my posting, looking for any mention of a lack of Oracle 8i documents and could not find any.
But I did notice that I mentioned OTN Samples and a question regarding the need to install toolkits in order to run them. I still don't know the answer. You see, the OTN sample readme files seem quite 'lean', and the classpath info needed to compile the Java code is not provided. I have not been able to compile the code after quite a bit of effort, prompting me to question the need for a tool kit. Or perhaps some .jar or .zip files are missing?
I also questioned support for Oracle 8i in that OTN is featuring 9i almost exclusively. This was prompted by my inability to locate 8i toolkit downloads in case I needed them. Plus the fact that we will be on 8i until next year . . .
