Cannot configure email for an Office365 Sharepoint list

Hi,
We are using an Office365 deployment of Project Online and SharePoint sites. There is a lot of information available on how to configure SharePoint lists to receive emails however the only option I have under List Settings | Communications is for RSS Feeds.
Can anyone tell me if this feature available in Office365 SharePoint?
Regards,
Conrad

Hi Conrad,
Please refer to the threads below for the email settings in Office 365 SharePoint sites:
http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/t/809.aspx
QUOTE:
Email alerts and workflow notifications can be sent to SharePoint users when documents or other items have been changed or added to a site. SharePoint Online does not at this time support to inbound email for document libraries, discussion boards, calendars,
and lists.
If you would like to make SharePoint sites to receive emails, I'd suggest you conside sitemailbox in SharePoint site:

  • Outlook - The path specified for the file SharePoint Lists PST is not valid

Some users are connecting via Citrix XenApp to Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and using Microsoft Office 2010 (14.0.7109.5000) SP2 MSO (14.0.7116.5000) - Microsoft Office Profressional Plus 2010 x86 version for their email.  Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
    SP2 for email.
They are connected to Microsoft SharePoint 2010 SP2 August 2013 CU, via a SharePoint Calender; they have View permissions to the SharePoint calendar using Classic Mode permissions (Not Claims).  No permissions have / are changing on this SharePoint
Calendar.  They connect to the SharePoint Calender to Outlook.
When they open up their Office Outlook client, they receive an error "Outlook Data File" "The path specified for the file \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint Lists.pst is not valid." OK
They select OK and they get a window popping up with the option to try to find the SharePoint list.  "Create/Open Outlook Data File" (File name: 'SharePoint Lists') Open Cancel.  They select Cancel.
They are returned to their Outlook client "email."
As an I.T. administrator and SharePoint Administrator, I had a remote session with them, using Bomgar software and I Go to File Menu, Account Settings, SharePoint Lists Tab but there is no list there so go to the Data Files tab and see SharePoint Lists listed.
Selecting it once, and clicking on Settings... button gives error message similar to the one above about PST not valid.
STRANGE in that, when you do that!  You can go to Home tab, Calendar (Ctrl+2), and see Other Calendars and now the SharePoint calendar that was supposed to be there before, but was just "empty!"  There was only the Other Calendars
option but it didn't have any "sub" calendar item.
A similar issue is when Other Calendars is listed, and has a sub calendar listed, a SharePoint connected calendar.  You click on it and get "Microsoft Outlook" "The set of folders cannot be opened. The path specified for the file c:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint
    Lists.pst is not valid."  OK
Click OK and go through the above steps to get the same result.  After going into Account Settings, Data Files, checking on the Settings... button, and receiving the error message, again mentioned above, and the prompt to Create/Open Outlook Data File,
thgen I can go back into Account Settings, Data Files, and double click on the SharePoint Lists and instead of an error, the Outlook Data File comes up, with Change Password... Compact Now, Comment, Name, Filename, Format (Outlook Data File) OK Cancel.
Can go back to the Calendar (Ctrl+2) and Other Calendars, and the SharePoint Calendar "Sub calendar" will appear and operate as normal!  All was done was go into the Account settings and "check" on the "error."
Tried to delete the SharePoint Lists and close out and add it and then go back in, and it "worked" for a few days.  I later turned on Logging and for over 24 hours it was on for the user.  The user was not on forever.
In the Outlook Logging folder, from the users profile, I found many *.log files, firstrun, OPMLog, ETL files, one of which is 6MB, and some prof_001_outlook....txt files.  I clickedo n the SharePoint Lists.pst.log file 1KB
    It is listed here:

They are using a CRM client 2011 (Server is CRM 2011 - on premise) as well as having other connected email accounts - managed accounts, like Accounting or HR, etc.
What can I look for / provide for you all to assist?  I am almost ready to open a ticket with Microsoft to resolve this as it has been happening for multiple users for multiple weeks.
When "I" go in, logged on as myself, I do NOT have this problem, however my account is not "old" in that I just logged onto the account domain\matthew.carter, where these users use their accounts day in and day out for weeks / months
    / (some years).
    Thank you!

Did you post this in the SharePoint Section? Did you find a resolution for this?
We are experiencing the same issue and have yet to find anything to resolve this issue.
    Regards, Daniel
I ended up scouring his old posts looking for the other thread, and he did open one in the SharePoint forum:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/3dded85b-73ee-47dc-9609-6ee65f329983/outlook-the-path-specified-for-the-file-sharepoint-lists-pst-is-not-valid?forum=sharepointadminprevious#3dded85b-73ee-47dc-9609-6ee65f329983
Unfortunately, what was marked as an "answer" by the moderators isn't really an answer at all to the problem. We are experiencing pretty much an identical issue with a calendar people are adding to Outlook 2010 from SharePoint 2010 within a XenApp
server (using roaming profiles). However, we have not had the issue occur outside of XenApp yet.

  • Security flaw-To use CSOM/Javascript code for Custom Office365(Sharepoint Online) application

    Hi,
I've developed custom application in Office365(Sharepoint Online) using CSOM/Javascript. Security team from client side has been reported one major issue to the our application that any end user can comment our CSOM/Javascript code and bypass the validation
or can update / insert into sharepoint list item using developer tool/ Console in Google Chrome(F12 Key).
Also end user can write his own separate code in console of Google Chrome (Developer Tool / F12) and can update / insert  into Sharepoint List.
Note:- End user has Add, Edit, View permission on all Sharepoint List.
This is one major security flaw of the Sharepoint/Office365 to use CSOM /Javascript for writing code, to overcome this issue could you please provide me some solution.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Looking for reply.

  • After 1st Gen iPod touch reset, cannot configure mail for Mobile Me or iCloud account

I recently reset my iPod touch 1st Gen, v. 3.1.3 (7E18) and have not been able to configure Mail to check the Mobile Me or iCloud mail server.  I get an error msg that the user name or password must be incorrect, but they're not.  I assume this is due to the old IOS not being up to date with iCloud technologies, but I was able to get mail on this device before resetting.  I don't use it much for email, but do carry it on trips as a backup access device to get to mail and calendars.  I dont really want to use Safari to check mail when there is a mail app for doing so.
    Any suggestions?

    Try here:
iCloud: What if my device or computer doesn't meet iCloud system requirements?
The above or its links sya how to use/configure mail.

Do you need the word monitor in there? I was under the impression you only needed "VGA-1". I'm having a similar problem to you though so don't take my advice too carefully (why didn't I back up my old conf file :'()
    Edit; You do.
Here is my krandrrc from when I used KDE. Could you put something in your autostart as a hack?

  • How to Configure Email for a Specific job when its Fails

    Hi
We have So many jobs running in our HR system and BW systems but with no proper Monitoring Configuration. We have Solution manager 7.0 with EHP latest version with CCMS configured. How to setup the email in Solution Manager using CCMS when Job failed?
Is there any standard way of doing it from HR system and BW system other than using solution manager? so that we can use it for Temporary solution.
    Thank you for you support
    Regards
    Bhaskar

    Hello Bhaskar,
I recommend to use SAP CPS by Redwood to schedule you BW and of course also your HR jobs.
Please check out the following document:
SAP CPS by Redwood - Increasing the Value of SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence
    Scheduling
The monitoring capabilities fo SAP CPS are described in the documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/0a/1a5678b72c418d96242330b96473c6/frameset.htm
You can use SAP CPS together with SAP Solution Manager free of charge (and even the OEM license for SAP CPS is free of charge). This way you can also combine SAP CPS and Business Process Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager.

    Hello
i have the same problem, do you get this working?

  • Cannot open emails for restraunts and other sites

    cannot navigate thru certain emails

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

  • Grid control notification cannot send email for alert message.

We have grid control work fine in sending out email. But we cannot receive it lately. I followed the note 285093.1 for trouble shooting. I found that in the file <OMS HOME>/sysman/log/emoms.log or emoms.trc of the following repeated error:

I am wondering which login of what user has the logon problem. How can I fix it?
    Thanks for any help!

Yes, I did that in following up the metalink note 285093.1 and 356774.1. There is not broken job in the repository database for sysman. There was one before. Then I checked the emoms.trc file and saw the error ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.
I think the problem is likely due this error, as so far I did not see any other error. On grid control, I also did repository operation => notification check and the email sending test. They are all fine without any error.
    Thanks.

  • Configure email for iCloud

    Hi
How do I configure my Outlook email account with iCloud?  I would like this account to sync with all my devices eg. iPHone and iPadI assume that it will work with iCloud, is that correct?  The reason I say this is I tried syncing using Yahoo account but it doesn't work.
I have an iCloud account already but that is separate account.  Could you please explain and help me configure the Outlook account?  I not that technical in this area.  I have setup the Outlook account in Mail.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Csound, these are the settings I'm using;
    Now, strangely, I can send from the icloud account, but every time it sends and receives it appears to function correctly, but is throwing up the error message each time, see below;
@'Shoot..' - I agree the instructions DO seem straight forward and as far as I can see I am complying. I am also woking with mail, which being Apple's own is syncing correctly with my two mail accounts, I wanted to get Outlook working fully functionally so that I could decide which worked best for me. Also, Outlook syncs nicely with my icloud account online, enabling exchange of contacts etc between my MBP and PC, hence the reason for wanting to keep it.
As ever, grateful for ideas as to what Outlook is seemingly objecting to - thanks (btw I am abroad at the moment and internet access is 'sketchy').
    Settings appear correct ......
Outlook is not compatible with iCloud services, it is not "syncing"online (to check put a new event or  new contact in iCloud, do it on the website, you will not see it in Outlook)

    Good afternoon Nokia gurus (hopefully)
A couple of questions on configuring an E71 to connect to an internal Exchange server:
    1. Will we need our ISP to give our Exchange server a public DNS record?
    2. What format do we enter the username and password in the 'Credentials' field? Would this be the same username/password as if we were logging onto our internal network from a PC?
    Any info greatly appreciated.
    Just another question:
Can we setup phone to connect to our public IP address or does it have to be a DNS name?

  • Cannot verify email for ipod touch

the link to verify my email is not recognized any suggestions?

Thanks, g-smoke. I have applied for a Mexican credit card, which I should receive next Thurs.
In answer to your four things: 1) yes, my CC is a Visa 2) My credit limit is far higher than I've ever needed; plus I have no problems with non-Apple purchases; 3) I verified my security card with a call to the bank issuing my card; 4) iTunes store is available in Mexico (but not the music part.)
I have already called Apple USA, Apple Mexico, and my local Apple store. Apple USA and Mexico focused on the need to be very precise in entering all fields. I even changed my official address with the credit card in order to make it "fit" the Apple Mexico iTunes store format better. The Apple store technician here, however, agrees with me that there is an Apple inherent conflict between the fact that my credit card is USA based, but my billing address is in Mexico. The billing address being Mexican is a requirement per the Apple site information--and that is precisely what I have.
Thanks so much for the iTunes site. In all my perusals, I'd not seen that one yet. I sent them an email, and might get a response in another day or so.
I'd like to add that this problem is the reverse of one I had late last year with Apple USA. At that time, Apple refused to make an order for me because my billing address was in Mexico, and Apple seemed unwilling to believe that my credit card was indeed a USA credit card. (I was planning a laptop purchase for a USA trip--a perfectly legal item to bring into Mexico.) So, I walked into Apple SF, and had no trouble using the same credit card to buy a laptop off the shelf--not the configuration I'd wanted to special order, but. . . .
Also of interest--the company from which I bought the digitally transmitted iTunes card is, after investigating the issue, processing a refund to my account.
