Cannot find/see folders when using batch

Hi,
I am using CS3 on a VistaPremium machine.
When I try to convert a number of JPGs to TIFs using the batch function I cannot select any folder (nor as source nor destination), when I click the button it only lists Desktop, nothing else. I have tried switching from OS to Adobe dialog (has no effect, but worth the try).
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sounds like a permission/ and or folder view issue. Under what kind of account do you run? Do the folders you are trying to pick show up correctly in normal Explorer?

Cannot find security providers when using a security manager.

I've done stuff with JAAS and JSSE before, but this is the first time I've combined the two :o)
I have some code for an application server and I'm using SSL sockets in order to communicate with the outside world. These all work fine, no problems at all.
However, I want to control what code is executed on the server using the security framework. When I load my server using a security manager and custom security policy it seems that my app can no longer find the security providers.

That seems to have cured it cheers - sure I copied the double '=' from somewhere, thought it was wierd at the time.

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

Why can't I see my hotmail folders when using Mail on my Mac, but I can see them when I use Mail on my iPhone, weird?

I've set up Mail on my new Mac, but the folders I have set up in my Hotmail are not visible. Funny, coz I can see the folders when using Mail on my Iphone. Have I set the connection between Hotmail and my Mac incorrectly? It was very automated so I don't know what I did incorrectly. Can anyone out there give me a tip?

I I cannot find out how I used my free Icloud storage space.

I use a Book Mac, an IPad and an IPhone and I am not so sure HOW I syncronize among the maschines, especially fotos.
Is everything stored in the Icloud? Does Icloud replace an Itunes-synchronization?
How can I see how I use my Icloud space? Of the 5 GB I have 1.7 GB left but cannot find out how I used them.

Not quite what you asked but you can add an email group, for example [email protected] which shows up as the sender.

You can check if you see a download action for that file tab in Tools > Options > Applications
You can delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.

Can't see my files or folders when using accounts..

I have 2 MyBook USB drives that I used to have connected to my Mac Mini that I today decided to move out in the closet and connect them to my Airport Extreme. Everything works fine as long as I set "Secure Shared Disks: With base station password", but when I select "With accounts" I can't seem to see any of my files or folders when I connect to the drives. I only get an empty drive. I can even add files or folders to it, and when I revert the changes I see my old files again, but not the new ones (unless I go back again).
Anybody have a clue as to what might be wrong here?

Here is how I fixed it on my end:
First, unplugged the USB disk from AEBS and plugged in directly to my MacBookPro. Then, Get Info on the drive and selected "Shared Drive". Then, plugged it back into the AEBS and connected as a Guest.
So far, works just fine. I can see all of my files on the external USB drive that is connect to the AEBS.
Specs on my set up:
Leopard 10.5.1
MacBook Pro
AEBS Firmware 7.2.1
configured as a shared drive with Guest access (read & write)
I have spent the past 5 hours working on this issue, including a call to Apple Tech Support.

"cannot find songs online" when trying to play/import from cd.

When trying to play/import a cd I get "cannot find songs online" message. Only Track # & time are displayed. When trying to get cd info I get "not registered for online use" message. Never did this before. Thanx in advance for any help.

The "not recognized for on-line use" error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs. Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12 (though the number of reports has reduced significantly since 12.1 was released). A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected. I don't have a Vista system to check whether its different, but you may need to:
Select Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization
Click Folder Options
Select the View tab
Under Advanced Settings, click Show hidden files and folders, then click OK.
Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\.
Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete the following files:
CD Info.cidb
com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this doesn't work:
In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
If this one didn't work:
Exit iTunes
Check the following folders:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete any copies of the following files:
CD Info.cidb
com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
iTunesPrefs.xml
Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
Again, if this procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1 of the second procedure.
If you're still not able to retrieve CD info:
Exit iTunes
In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features. Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
When this process has finished, restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself. If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes.

IPhoto cannot find photo. when i press the find button.

The thumpnail of the photo is displayed. When I try to select the photo it says file cannot be found. I select the button to find photo. Navigate to the new location of the photo. But the files are all greyed out. Cannot select the jpg file.
The file is valid. i checked the user privilages and they are read and write for everyone. The file opens fine in Prview.
What is wrong with I-PHOTO?

Is this the alert you get?
That's an indication that at the time those photos were imported the library was being run as a "referenced" library. Unless you can use the Find Photo button to find the photo on your Mac to relink it they are gone.
Download Find Any File and use it to search for some of the image files that give that warning message. FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders and packages and if the full sized source files are on the hard drive FAF will find them.

it said
This problem was solved after defining in the Mobile Client view -> field "Language(s)" the language ENU and the other one being used.
Then the database was re-extracted and it was possible to import the WSDL in the local database using Tools.
but my issue is not solved well.
I decide to reinstall Siebel Tools now, and have a try again.

Cannot find java.exe when executing Sun Java Enterprise 8.1

I downloaded and installed Sun Java Enterprise 8.1 (actually because I kept getting not enough space messages I downloaded it in 3 parts). When attempting to execute by clicking on the icon I keep getting a message saying "cannot find java.exe". I previously installed the java runtime successfully. Is anyone familiar with this and if so how do I get around it. I am running Win2k SP4 on a laptop. Thank you for any insight you can provide.

I faced same problem. I had jdk 1.5.0_05 installed on C: drive directly. But When I check the log though the installation found the version it was assuming it to be at 'C:\Program Files\Java' so even after finding the installed JDK it was failing. When I copied the JDK at 'C:\Program Files\Java' and then uninstalled and reinstalled the Sun java studio 8 again, at this time it asked me about which JDK to use! Then there I could point to C:\jdk1.5.0_05. Then everything went through fine. I guess this is some problem in installation code. Try this out.
