Cannot get EssVSendData function to work

I've been trying to develop macros in Excel to lock and load data through the EssMenuVLock and EssVSendData commands but don't seem to be able to get the arguments stated correctly in the send command.I seem to be using the right arguments in other commands such as EssVConnect & EssVDisconnect since they work but stuck on the send...Any hints or advice?

OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Admin Tool - Cannot get ISCHILD function to work

Hi,
1) I have imported an Essbase cube into my RPD file and replicated it in the business model
2) I have created a new LTS for the 'Accounts' table called 'Income_Statement_Filter' within the business model
3) I am trying to create a filter on this LTS using the expression builder so that only the children of a particular member are included.
I am facing the following problems:
1) I cannot see the ISCHILD function anywhere in the left pane to pull it in
2) I cannot navigate to the 'Account' dimension anyhere in the left pane to pull it in
3) When I try to enter the expression manually in the WHERE section of the LTS window, following the online help instructions (wondering at this point the usefulness of the expression builder for this purpose), I get the following error:
Expression entered in WHERE section: ischild("unixserver.ft.cname.com"."ebappname".."Cmr"."Account", 'SM00008')
Error Received: [nQSError: 27009] Unresolved identifier: "unixserver.ft.cname.com"."ebappname".."Cmr"."Account".
Can anyone please help me with this?

ISCHILD function is not available in the RPD on the left pane of the FX window. I am not sure if these functions will be available in the future releases of the client tool, but atleast until .5 they are not available to select from the RPD. Coming to the second point, you cannot use ISCHILD function with any random column from the RPD. The ISCHILD function can only be used with the member key column that was used during the process of building the parent-child hierarchy. As you probably already know, this function is used to find out the number of children below the member that you are looking for, which is why only member key column can be used in the formulae.

Qosmio F750 - Cannot get some functions to work after Win 8 uprgade

I own a Qosmio F750-125, PQF75E.
Since I upgraded to Win 8, utilizing Toshiba Upgrade Assistant I might add, I had some issues.
Most importantly not being able to get my Toshiba Blu-ray player to install.
Eventually I managed, still don't exactly how but anyway, to install the latest version 1.0.0.5.70A.
The problem now is that the 3D function still don't seem to work.
When I open a 3D movie I only get the picture to display side by side, despite clicking on the 3D button.
I tried to update the Nvidia driver (v290) to the latest version v314, available on Nvidia site, for for my GeForce GT540M graphics card but every time I get a message that the driver cannot find compatible driver hardware. Eventually from within the upgrade files downloaded by Toshiba Upgrade Assistant I managed to install the v306. I am still however unable to install v 314, after the "system check" I still get the message that the driver can find compatible driver hardware.
However, the 3D still does not work. I notice that the face detection (SuperD Xtune) does not automatically start with the Blu-ray player when I launch or open a 3D file to be played by the Toshiba Blu-ray player, as it used to.
How can I get my Blu-ray Player to play my 3D properly again.
If I open Xtune I am able to calibrate the 3D and then it closes.
I do not see a app under all apps which seem to have anything to do with the face detection function.
Is there a setting that need to be changed, an additional driver to be installed or what?
I am really disappointed with the support I have received from Toshiba themselves on this issue.
I also wanted to update the BIOS of my laptop.
My bios version is 2 dating December 2011 but I notice that a newer BIOS is available from Toshiba Website dating February 2012, if I am not mistaken.
I downloaded that but when I run it I receive a message that my computer is not compatible.
**bleep** this is frustrating.
I want to get my 3D function back and be sure to run the latest and most appropriate drivers, at all times.

Thank you for patiently answering to my posts.
You are right, despite extensive notes in the Toshiba Step-by-Step upgrade guide and specific mention that the Blu-ray player can only be installed by using the Upgrade Assistant, it is not installed by the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant.
I am not sure though whether it actually did form part of the downloaded files but never the less I installed it by some miracle manually.
It did not want to install at first. I received a message that the player could not be found. I noticed that the player is a sMedio Inc player and I then searched sMedio Inc and download their WinDVD Pro player. After that the Blu-ray driver from Toshiba installed.
I also have it that v1.0.0.5.70A is the latest driver but through my local Toshiba Agent (MUSTEK) I received a driver from Germany and it was 1.0.0.5.48. I have not installed that as yet.
I am convinced that the problem lies with the interaction between the Blu-ray Player, Nvidia driver and SuperD software.
I searched my installed files and saw that I have Super D spd2900g and Super D X-tune installed. I uninstalled both and tried to re-install it form the file included in the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant (Super D IC Driver).
However only the Super D spd2900g part installed and the Super D X-tune part is now missing.
NOW I am completely BUGGERED because I do not know where to find the X-tune program to reinstall it.
SuperD's website is very basic, in fact somewhat primitive.
Thanks you also for the links, I have seen them somewhere and have had regard thereto but they are outdated.
They relate to much older versions and windows 7 not 8.
I must be honest, the poor response and support from Toshiba will most definitely lead to me not buying their product again. None of the so called technicians have help me achieve anything. I struggled and figured out everything myself so far.
I still also have no answer in respect of the BIOS upgrade issue. Is there no one I can contact directly.

Cannot Get U460 Webcam To Work!!! Help Please!!!

I received my U460 a couple of days ago and I cannot get the webcam to work, at the bottom is the error I keep receiving in Youcam, I have gone in Settings and selected Lenovo Easy Camera, and no I don't have any other programs opened using The webcam. I have tried pushing function + esc, camera is on. Mic works fine. I have tried reinstalling the Web Cam Driver, YouCam Software, then eventually did a System Restore. Then tried it in Skype, MSN Messenger. No Luck. I have wasted so much time on this. Any help would be appreciated.

You can go to the Apple online store and purcahse a copy of Mountain Lion. This will give you a redemption code, which you can use to download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Unfortuantely, I'm not aware of any other way to legally purchase it. I have never seen Apple release Muontain Lion on DVD.
In terms of Apple Service, they just need the serial number of the machine to check the purcahse date. It is usually correct, to within a few weeks. A quick Google search should give you the correct number to dial.

I would delete the account and try to re-enter it. Also, you have to let your firm's IT department know that you want to sync work email on your personal devices before they actually work.

Yes. tried the one ram stick, no go. I have been trying to boot off/install the windows 7 disk but am unable to get to the point where windows starts installing after its gathering information portion of the install. I can get to the disk selection screen of the install with the WD HD on SATA port 2 but then get the "cant install messages" when I try to select the Vertex 3. Yes I can see the Vertex 3 Drive as well as the WD drive at this point. some times I have to hit "scan" a couple of times.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? There is no QuickTime System Preferences pane in 10.6.8 or later.
You enter the registration under the player 7 menu.

I plug the ethernet from the airport to the back of the modem (a Webstar unit) from my cable provider. Then I plug the other cable from the back of the airport into my G5. Then plug in the power cord. I get lots of flashing lights - "thinkin & blinkin", but then I get a message that it cannot locate the server. Even rebooted. I've been waiting for the IT guy to call/email me back me back but no response yet. I'm guessing I may just need a new location, but I'm not wired to think IT-like (I'm a very right brained graphic designer), I I don't want to screw anything up.
Do I need to just go through a new internet setup?

OK, that is a Bluetooth mouse so open Windows Devices and Printers>Add a Device Toggle the power (on the mouse) off and then on. he mouse should appear in the window, follow instructions to add it.

Cannot get iTunes DJ to work

No doubt it is something really obvious that I'm missing, but I cannot get iTunes Dj to work. If I click on iTunes DJ in the left column, right section of the window says "iTunes DJ" and explains that I can make a continuous mix, but there is no list of music. The play button is greyed out.
The help file says "To select a specific playlist (instead of your library) for the live mix, choose an option from the Source pop-up menu at the bottom of the iTunes window."
but there is no Source pop-up menu at the bottom of the iTunes window.
Any ideas?

Do you see the grey bar at the bottom of the screen when you select iTunes DJ, the one with the Settings and Refresh button, as seen in the picture on this web page? If not, then the bottom of the window may just be off the screen on your system so you don't see the Source selector. If that does seem to be the problem, try changing the resolution of your Mac's screen (Displays system preference) to the highest resolution. If it already is, try changing it to a lower resolution, then back. That may get the iTunes window to reappear..
If not, open the Script Editor application, paste in the following text (up to and including the line that says "end tell") and click the "Run" button:
tell application "Finder"
set {d1, d2, d3, d4} to (get bounds of window of desktop)
end tell
tell application "iTunes"
set margins to {d1 + 10, d2 + 54, d3 - 10, d4 - 148}
set bounds of window 1 to margins
end tell
If the iTunes window is running off the screen, that should restore it.

Cannot get wireless scanner to work

wireless printing to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 works fine but I cannot get the scanner to work - it fails to even communicate with the HP device. My operating system is Windows Vista. The error message I get when trying to use the scanner by clicking on the "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Scan" icon is "Scanner communication cannot be established."
