Cannot insert String[] objects in PreparedStatements !!!
Hello guys,
I'm using PostgreSQL 7.0.3 for a website project.
I've got a table in the website database system which has a integer array type,
e.g.
create table preferences(
user_id integer references user,
music varchar(20)[5],
magazines varchar(20)[5],
channel varchar(10)[3]
)I've also got an javabean which holds the use preferences object
public class userPref{
private String[] music;
private String[] magazines;
private String[] channel;
private int userId;
// a constructor which uses reflection
public userPref(HttpServletRequest request){
}know i would like to be able to insert some values in that
table using java.sql library.
i've got
Connection con = broker.getConnection(); // the connection pool releases one connection
PreparedStatement ps = con.prepareStatement;
ps.setInt(1,user.getId());
...But for the rest of the fields, what should I use ?
I saw that there was setArray method in the PreparedStatement that uses java.sql.Array Class
Is it the method that I've got to use. If so, do I need to implement it ?
Please help me,
touco
I have no idea if that is the method you have to use or whether it will do what you want, but you do not have to implement it. That is the responsibility of the JDBC driver writer, just like the other 100-odd methods of PreparedStatement.

Inserting strings over 2000 in length
Hi,
I'm trying to populate a database table which contains a long and
I've been running into two Oracle errors:
ORA-01462: cannot insert string literals longer than 2000
characters
and
ORA-01489: result of string concatenation is too long
Can someone point me to documentation or a solution of how you
can get a 29k string into the database? I have code regarding how
to use LOBs, but I'm unfamiliar with any stored procedures which
will allow you to append to a long column with new content. I
need to use long for the project I am working on.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Jill
nullHi Ralf,
If you read the documentation on
http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/index.html you will
find a statement saying that the JdbcOdbcDriver is
only for test and experimental use.Yes, but my and other's experiences with the JDBC-ODBC bridge itself are very well.
Since it is only a bridge over the specific vendor's ODBC driver, you are limited to the capabilities of that.
But the bridge is not to blame for this.
For MS products you may reach efforts by updating to an actual MDAC version.
Nethertheless, with MS ODBC there are some problems.
Search the driver database (a link is on the above web
page) for another (commercial) driver. I recommend the
type 4 driver from i-net.Ok.
Have you tried out that error David reported with the i-net driver?
I use JDBC-ODBC with MS SQLServer 2000, actual MDAC, and I get that error with PreparedStatement.
But it's all ok with a normal statement.
So if you could test them both with the i-net driver, we would see if it's again the MS ODBC driver.
Regards,
Ralf SchumacherI think, I'm not the first you asks this:
you are not the quick one we saw in Suzuka on Sunday, are you? -
When we try to deploy a wsp to sharepoint containing code to generate quick launch menu we get the following error messages when running the last enable-spfeature command in powershell. The same code is working in the development environment, but when we
deploy to a test server the following error occurs:

Install-SPSolution -Identity impactsharepoint.wsp -GACDeployment
Enable-SPFeature impactsharepoint_branding -url http://im-sp1/sites/impact/

Cannot insert duplicate key row in object Error Message
Morning All,
I noticed today that the DW has not been updated with some of my CI's based off my custom class.
The event log is showing these error messages.

My System Center BlogJust in case it helps, this is the MP I'm using to bring the data across to the DW.
If I removed the MP from Service Manager, would that drop the tables in the DW and allow me to start again?

Getting "Cannot Insert Object" message while attaching .pdf file to excel spreadsheet.
While I am trying to attach an adobe (.pdf) file in excel spreadsheet I am getting message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
I am following the below mentioned steps and getting message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
Open the adobe (.pdf) file from IE browser.
While saving the adobe file on local machine it gives warning as “This document does not allow you to save any changes you have made to it unless you are using Adobe Acrobat 9, Pro 9 or Pro Extended 9. You will only be saving a copy of the original document. Do you want to continue?” On pressing "OK" it successfully saves the file on my local machine.
While I Tried to attach the saved adobe file in a spreadsheet of excel it gives message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
Does any one have any thoughts at all as to how to solve this?Deepika,
The alert dialog your screen shot depicts will only display if there is some kind of form annotation present in a PDF that is not "Reader Enabled".
Look closer at your 'final' PDF.
A PDF, not "Reader Enabled", that contains any form annotations will, when opened by Adobe Reader,
result in the alert dialog that you mention. A "hard wired" default.
Note that the forms document message bar can be "off" by a selection in Adobe Reader / Acrobat Preferences.
Select the 'Forms' category. Select "Always hide forms document message bar".
Be well... -
We have been seeing the following 'warnings' in the event log of our BizTalk machine since upgrading to BTS 2006. They seem to occur randomly 6 or 8 times per day.
Does anyone know what this means and what needs to be done to clear it up? we have only one BizTalk server which is running on only one machine.
I am new to BizTalk, so I am unable to find how many tracking host instances running for BizTalk server. Also, can you please let me know that we can configure only one instance for one server/machine?
Source: BAM EventBus Service

I suggest you have a in-depth examination of the BAM (TPE or API) associated with the orchestration. In TPE ensure that the first binding you select is the "Instance Id" or "Message Id" before going ahead to map the ports or others.

Cannot open PDFs inserted as objects into Excel.
Two-part question. I know this has been addressed before, but the solutions are not working for me.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Reader XI. When inserting a PDF document as an object into Excel, it will not allow me to insert the icon/object from the "Create New" option. I get one of two error messages: 'Cannot insert object' or 'Cannot start the soruce application for this object'. I am able to insert the PDF icon/object if I insert from the "Create from file" option. (Please note I cannot always link to the PDF, as some spreadsheets are sent out externally and will not have access.)
Once I am finally able to insert the document as an object, I can open and view the PDF. However, when I close the spreadsheet and re-open it, if I try to open the PDF document again, I get this error message again: 'Cannot start the soruce application for this object'.
I have changed my preference to disable the Protected Mode at startup and this issue is still happening. VERY frustrating. I never encountered this is past versions of Adobe and all previous suggestions are not fixing the issue. Does anyone have any insight or know of an update to fix this issue? Is this an Adobe issue or a Microsoft Office issue?Hi Jerry,

Cannot insert object error using Power View in Excel 2013
I created a short table in Excel 2013, positioned the cursor in the table and clicked Inset/Power View Report. I get a status window saying Excel is opening a Power View sheet but then I get a Power View error: Cannot Insert Object. I am able to insert new
tabs in the workbook. When I try the insert again, I just get the Power View error. I looked at other threads with similar issues and did the following:
Made the Formula bar visible - no change
Tried to repair Office 2013 but that option is not available when I right click on the program in the Control Panel
De-installed Silverlight - Tried to insert Power View Report. A Power View tab was created with the Power View picture and Power View ribbon. Got the message to install Silverlight and Reload. Installed Silverlight hit Reload and the Power View tab didn't
change. Hit Power View Report and got the Cannot Insert Object error message again.
Any help is appreciated.Hi,
Did you use PowerView first time? I notice you had found a similar thread and tested the solutions.
PowerView is an add-in in Excel2013, We must make sure that you check some option in the trust center and Add-in center.
http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-excel/archive/2012/10/04/intro-to-power-view-for-excel-2013.aspx
Location1: Excel Options>Add-in>Solver Add-in enable
Location2: Excel Options> Trust Center> Add-in
Then you said that you couldn’t repair the Excel 2013, please refer to the following link:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/outlook-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx
At last, we may test it in clean boot, please refer to the following link:

Cannot Insert Object in Excel 2013
I am having trouble inserting PDF's in Excel 2013. I go to Insert-->Object-->Create from File then browse to the PDF and select the checkbox for "Display as Icon." After doing this i get a generic error message that says "Cannot Insert Object." No other details.
Specs:
Windows 7 x64
Office 2013 x64
Adobe Reader X and XI. Tried them both.
What I have tried:
The most common answer I have found was to disable the enhanced security in the Adobe Reader preferences. This does not help.
I also tried downgrading from Adobe Reader XI to Reader x, disabling enhanced security. That does not work either.
I have found a workaround in Excel by going to Insert-->Package and doing it that way, but it does not show the Adobe Reader icon in the spreadsheet when it's done. If there's a way to use this method and still have the adobe icon that'd be great.
I called Microsoft support and they think this is an Adobe issue, because I can insert other things via the create from file method, just not PDF's.
Other notes:
The Insert-->Object-->Create from File method works fine in Excel 2010 so I think that Adobe Reader doesn't do well with Excel 2013.
I need the inserted PDF's in spreadsheets to look a certain way. They must have the Adobe Icon and I need to be able to change the text below the icon.
Does anybody have any suggestions?Update:
I uninstalled Adobe Reader and tried a different PDF reader and the insert in Excel works fine. I really would prefer to use Adobe though. This leads me to believe that maybe it's just a setting or something in Adobe reader. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. -
I have migrated my SCCm 2007 environment to SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4.
I noticed in the System Status\Component Status\SMS_STATE_SYSTEM a lot of errors like the one below:
Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 2627, severity 14: [23000][2627][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'DeploymentSummary_PK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.DeploymentSummary'. The duplicate key value is (1, 0, S0220438, 0). : spUpdateClassi
Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.
When looking up the deployment ID and recreate the Deployment the problem is solved. But I have 700 packages and don't want to manually do this action on all packages. I think it is related to the migration i did and something went wrong there :-(
Besides it will retriggers the deployment to the clients which is also not preferred.
Is there another way to solve this by e.e.g do something directly in the SQL database tables ?Hi,
It is not supported by Microsoft that do something directly in SQL database.
If you want to do that, you could make a call to CSS.

Hi,
I am providing support to one of our clients, where we have jobs scheduled to load the data from the tables in the source database to the destination database via SSIS packages. The first time load is a full load where we truncate all the tables in the destination

I suspect you are trying to insert modified records instead of updating. -
Cannot insert duplicate key row in object
This is a JPA question. The tbHardware table has a PK identity column and a unique non-clustered index on CoxBarcode column.
I have a SFSB in a Seam2.0.0.GA app running on JBoss 4.2.1.GA. I am using flushMode=FlushModeType.MANUAL (Seam specific when beginning a conversation) and that's why you see the flush() reference at the end of the following code snippet.

I thought about executing a select query prior to the insert in tbHardware to check to see if a record with that particular coxBarCode exists or not. Would the exception be handled differently if I used the persist() method instead of the createNativeQuery() and executeUpdate() combination? thx.

What do you mean by control? Yes, you can find duplicates and remove them (by e.g. implementing a Comparator and adding them to a Set)
KajI mean to say replace the duplication with just a single value for insert!

Really having problems with organising documents in pages. For example, deleting pages deletes the whole section and I cannot insert a section break as its greyed out & sending an object to background deletes several pages and trying to insert a text box autmatically creates new pages- what the **** is going on??? Is this programme really this badly thought out? I thought everything apple was supposed to be intuitive!?!?!? Help.
You can not insert a section break into a textbox.
You appear to have a lot of objects with wrap set, that once you take them out of the flow of text (by sending them to the background) causes the text to reflow and contract into fewer pages. Pages is almost unique in the way it forms up pages in Word Processing mode only so long as there is text on them.
I suspect you probably have hammered away at returns, spaces and tabs as well to position things, which only works to add to the mess.
Download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf available under the Help menu and swot up a bit on how it works.
You may find this a usueful resource as well:

PS There is quite a lot of programming in OSX that is far from "intuitive". Pages is easy at one level, when using the templates, otherwise it can be quite frustrating. -
Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.CultureObjectStrings'
Hi Everyone,
No matter what instance I chose to run the Tasks function on the Installer I get this error:
Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'IX_CultureObjectStrings'.
Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.CultureObjectStrings'
The statement has been terminated.
The Tasks Utility stops at 'Initialize Languages'. When I look at the CRM online I checked the Config Settings, Netpoint, Culture and it is set to English(United States).
I am running Business One SP01 Pl 06 and WebTools 6 PL04. I have created new instances and database and still get the same error when running Tasks after they have been built and synched.
What else can I do?
Thanks, ChesterHi Stephen,
Sorry, I am running SP01 PL 4 on WebTools. I am not running 'instance mode' I am running 'Tasks' mode. The reason this all started was when I got all of my customers data(databases,instance.xml,synch.xml, etc.) to run on my PC. Once everything is transfered to my PC, I run 'task' mode to insure I have the right hash and private keys assoicated with the data. When I frist started doing this procedure it worked, and I don't which levels back that was, but now it is a problem. So, when I saw this happening with the transfer of the data to my PC, I thought I'd try running 'tasks' mode on the orginal data just make sure I had everything. When I said I built new companies I used the OEC data that come with WebTools because I thought maybe it the customers data, but it didn't matter, still got the same error.
Thanks, Chester
