Cannot install extension in Dreamweaver CS3

I just purchased an image gallery extension from the exchange. The instructions say that I need to run the extension manager to install it. When I do it I get an error message saying:
"This extension cannot be installed, it requires Dreamweaver 7 or greater. To install the extension, please try to install Dreamweaver CS4 or use Adobe Extension Manager CS3 which works with Adobe CS3 and earlier products."
I've tried to find Adobe Extension Manager CS3 but only can find CS4 which is already installed in my PC

The cs3 extension manager is on your cs3 disk.
You could also try right clicking on the extension manager in the start menu and selecting, 'run as administrator'.

Adobe AIR 1.5.2 Extension for Dreamweaver CS3

I downloaded what I thought to be the updated version of Adobe AIR Extension for Dreamweaver CS3 for the new AIR 1.5.2 release, but it looks like the extension (Adobe_AIR_CS3.mxp) is still the 2008 version (exactly the same file size, and Dreamweaver overwrites the version number I manually input ("1.5.2") in the Adobe AIR configuration file with "1.5".
Attention Dreamweaver and Adobe AIR teams: when will the extension be updated for AIR version 1.5.2?

I see nothing... Any ideas??? do I need to update my flash plugin ?

I have safari 7.0.2 and OS 10.9.4, everytime I try to install a safari extension such as, Pocket, I get an error message that says, Cannot install extension, I get this with every one of them. Does anyone else have this problem?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

The problem that we were having was caused by a case difference between two folders, like Carl pointed out. The line that created the issue was written like this:
<file source="File1.htm" destination="$dreamweaver/Configuration/Shared/MyExtensions" />
<file source="File2.htm" destination="$dreamweaver/Configuration/Shared/myExtensions" />
The correct folder was with an upper case ("MyExtensions").
The extensions are now installing correctly however it seems to take significantly longer to install than on previous versions of EM (even previous version of EM CC). Has anyone been experiencing the same long install time? This only happens on Windows OS. On Mac the extension is installed pretty fast.
Any idea how I could lower the install time? We do have a long list of files. Maybe try to use only folders instead of individual files?

Paypal Extension for Dreamweaver CS3

I am trying to get the free Paypal extension for Dreamweaver CS3 but can't find it anywhere. Web Assist currently only has the extension available for CS4 and above.
I've searched Google but every link that says I can get the extension for CS3 just goes back to Web Assists page with the newer version which does not support CS3.
Does anyone know where I could get the Paypal extension for Dreamweaver CS3?

I don't know why you need an extension for this. PayPal gives you the necessary code to use. It's a simple matter of copy & paste.

Extension Manager CS4 not installing extensions in Dreamweaver CS4

Just installed CS4 Design Premium. Now i want to install some
extensions to Dreamweaver.
When I click on the extension to install it I get a message
from the Extension Manager saying:

Can't install extensions in DW CS3 since downloading Photoshop CS6 trial

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP. About a week ago I downloaded the Photoshop CS6 30-day free trial. Since then, when I try to install an extension in Dreamweaver, the Adobe Extension Manager CS6 opens, with the message "This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 6 or greater." I looked at Add & Remove Programs on my computer to see if the Extension Manager CS6 could be uninstalled, but it's not on the list of programs so I guess the only way to remove it would be to uninstall the Photoshop trial, which I don't want to do. Is there any way around this problem? The extension I wanted to install is an update of a PVII product that I already have installed.

Thanks Murray! I selected Commands>Manage Extensions, the old Extension Manager opened and I clicked File>Install Extension and the extension installed with no problem. The first time I had tried to install it by double-clicking directly on the file and that's when the CS6 Extension Manager opened and said the extension culdn't be installed. Thanks again!

Php extensions in Dreamweaver CS3

I have installed Dreamweaver CS3, I am now trying to run a
simple PHP script (A 'Hello World') however when I try running the
.php file my browser seems to timeout and the page does not run.
When I run a standard HTML page on the same website it does work.
I am using IIS 5.1 is there something else I need to set-up
for php to work?

Sounds like you have a problem with your PHP install (you do
have it installed right?). Maybe take a look at this page for

Cannot install extension on Safari 6.0.5

Please help!
I cannot install any extension on Safari. I get the message "Safari could not install the extension. An error occured during the installation of the extension".
I have abled the extension function in the preferences and can install extensions on the Guest-account, but not as Administrator.
I have a MacBook Air OS X version 10.8.4.

Cannot install extensions for Safari. Help!

No matter what I try to do I cannot get Safari to install extensions. I have tried some of the answers others have been given for a similar problem but non of them seem to work. If anyone can tell me a way I can uninstall Safari and reinstall it again or repair it I would be incredibly grateful for your help.

Try deleting the Safari .plist
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try adding an extension.
The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.8 Mountain Lion is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery

Cannot remove extensions from dreamweaver

I am trying to update an extension from Dreamweaver cs6, first I need to uninstall the older version. I keep getting an error saying I do not have appropriate permissions to do it. I am running the program on windows 7. I am logged onto windows as an administrator, I am running adobe extension manager as an administrator. what do I need to do?

One sure way is to exit Dreamweaver to then rename the configuration folder (in case you need it again) to configuration-backup or similar.
The folder can be found at
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\
After the renaming, restart Dreamweaver and reinstall the required extensions.

Hi,
Here is my response to your questions:
1. The HTML5 extensions will work almost exactly the same as Flex extensions in terms of distribution and where they are located. They can be packaged as a ZXP and the panel will appear under Window->Extensions.
2. Extension Builder 2.1 comes with Flash Builder 4.6 included in the installer and both are installed at the same time. If the installer detects an already existing installation of Flash Builder 4.5 or 4.6, it will install the plugin into the already existing instance. Therefore you should not have to do anything apart from opening up Flash Builder 4.6 and starting coding. However, it may be that there has been a conflict between the EB 2.0 and EB 2.1 plugins. If you can I would recommend uninstall Flash Builder 4.6 and then installing Extension Builder 2.1 (please backup your FB 4.6 installation first).
3. First, I'd like to clarify that Extension Builder 3.0 and Flash Builder 4.7 are not compatible (by design). For Extension Builder 3 you only need Eclipse, not Flash Builder, because it only supports making HTML5 panels, not Flash. I would recommend building the panel in Extension Builder 3. However, if you are just looking to migrate an existing panel which has a lot of ActionScript code to Premiere Pro CC, you can use Extension Builder 2.1 with Flash Builder 4.6.

Cannot install CS5 since Dreamweaver started crashing

I have had this problem for the best of this morning. When I got in the morning, Dreamweaver and Photoshop was already open (scheduled tasks on Mac), but Dreamweaver was hanging on its splash screen, and I had to Force Quit... it, also Photoshop looked fine, but I found it was also hanging.
I then proceeded to uninstall using the Application Installer, but it also hanged for quite some time, so I force quit that. I then started deleting all the CS5 programs I could see using AppZapper.
I also removed the Adobe folder inside ~/Library/Application Suppport/ and also /Library/Application Support/, and then restarted and tried running the Master Collection installer again. It hanged again.
I now have next to nothing CS5 programs on my Mac, yet I still cannot run the installer. I have checked Console and get the following errors when trying to start Application Installer:

Does anybody have any idea what to do? I must also mention that I did clean font caches last week and also moved a lot of fonts around.

I have solved this myself by cleaning the fonts cache using Font Finagler, restarting, going to Font Book & validating fonts and removing the ones with a red cross next to their name.
I also tried to disable as many duplicates as I could by going through the fonts. I did it manually as sometimes Font Book doesn't always select the one which I want to disable if you choose Resolve Duplicates from the menu bar.
I also looked at Console and saw that Marlett (font) was giving Font Book grieve, so I deleted that as well. I restarted, and opened up Application Installer. It opened after about 20 seconds.

Cannot install extension in Edge Code CC (preview)

Hi there,
I am completely new to edge code. I downloaded it today to give it a try I do code a lot in html css and javascript using a lot Less and Jade.
Codekit is my precompiled
I wanted to install some extensions for Jade and Less but whatever I tried Edge code give me an error.
I go to the extention manager button
click install from URL in the panel
paste the URL that I copied from the bracket registry page
https://s3.amazonaws.com/extend.brackets/jade/jade-2.0.0.zip
I click the install button
the error message " Installation failed Unknown internal error" appears.
Is it something I do wrong.

Edge Code is a re-branding of Brackets which is currently at release 0.37, but Brackets is currently at 0.44, so I suspect that you are trying to install versions of extensions that are too new (i.e. downloading zip file gives you latest by default). You can either switch to Brackets (http://brackets.io) or try figuring out the correct version of each extension for Brackets Sprint 37 (which was release March 17th, 2014).
