Cannot restore old pictures on new printer

My old HP printer would let me modify any scan of a picture. I could crop, restore faded color, change the enitre picture to make old pictures look like new. With my new All-in-one Deskject 3052A, I cannot do any of this, therefore restoring my old pictures is not possible.  Is there any program that will allow me to do this again?
Thanks!

I know this an old post but did you find a printer that has the color restoration option since I'm in the same situation.

  • Cannot Restore Saved Config To New BT Hub 3

    Hi,
after reporting problems with a BT Hub 3 (new shape, black router), a new device was sent out promptly (very quick - thanks go to BT).
Following advice from the support staff on the phone, I saved the config from the old BT Hub 3 (hopefully including port forwarding and firewall rules). Unfortunately the new router will not accept the config file from the old router, it simply reports the error message:
    Invalid file
The file selected is not a valid configuration file for your BT Hub.
The firmware on the new device is:
    Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.77 (Type A)
The old hub had a recent software build that was only a few days old.
Has anyone else managed to save the config from one router and restore it to a new router?
    Thanks
    ukw

    Hi,
    thanks for the reply.
Does anyone know of a simple way to export the settings from a BT Hub 3, so they can be used in a replacement device?
At this point I don't feel that I'm asking for a special feature that isn't supported by other supplier's devices, such as those from Cisco, Alcatel, NetGear, Draytek (the list goes on and on). Worse still, I cannot read the backup file (it's in a binary format), so that I can manually transcribe the settings.
    Thanks Again

Try Gaussian Blur with a radius between 3and 6, or Lens Blur with a radius between 8 and 15 and blade curvature 100%.

  • Backup & Restore - Old Machine to New

New prospective laptop will have Window7 (W7) 64-bit & old one has W7 with 32-bit ; I'm not sure if this is the way I should be looking at it , but it seems like I'd need to backup everything on the old machine but then restore everything except the old operating system, W7 32-bit ; in addition to my own data files I'd also want to retain Office, Norton, Printer software, etc. - problem is I don't know where the operating system resides and so I don't know how I would screen it out .
I have an external hard drive to hold the backed up files and it looks like Windows backup, for example, gives you the option to pick the files to be restored ; using the Lenovo backup utility could also be a possibilty.
I'm sure many others have done this when upgrading their computers and others in this audience may have much more computer insight than I and so any insights or suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated .

In one word: you'll need to reinstall your applications and might be able to move user data (profiles) to the new OS environment.

  • MS office 2008 now crashing when we try to print. No changes to computer; same old software. New printer 9 months ago, no trouble printing until last month. Other programs (adobe, mac) print fine. What can I try?

I have an iMac from 2009. It's running OSX 10.6.8 and we've used MS Office 2008 for Mac all along without any trouble.  We replaced our printer 8 or 9 months ago, and we've had no trouble printing from any program until the last several weeks. Now, when we try to print ONLY from word or excel, the print window appears, but then the spinning rainbow comes up, followed by a Microsoft crash message: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried to trick it into making a PDF, but the crash comes too fast. The only change to our entire Mac ecosystem is the following: We also have a Macbook Pro that has the 2nd allowed installation of the same MS Office 2008 for Mac. Due to liquid damage 6 weeks ago, that computer was replaced and all of the data and applications were moved from the dead one to the new one. Could this possibly be because microsoft detects a "third" computer "using" its software? I'm guessing no because I've seen several threads about problems similar to mine, and none mention licensing issues. In terms of troubleshooting, I've shut down, unplugged, restarted and tried newly created docs as well as old ones. Same results, no matter what.

  • HELP!!! CAN'T RESTORE OLD CATALOG TO NEW HARD DRIVE

    July 12, 2010
    Hello,
Thank you for any help you can give with this rather desperate problem.
I have installed a replacement hard drive in my Dell Windows Vista laptop and reloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0.  I am unable to reconnect Elements with my old photo organizer catalog.
Thus the system says I have Elements installed, with a catalog with zero photos in it. When in fact I have 12,000 fotos all captioned, dated and tagged for the Elements organizer.
Elements HELP has nothing about reconnecting to an old photo catalog.
Is it possible (???) that Elements does not keep the catalog separate from the program itself – so that when the program itself is lost in the switch to a new hard drive, the catalog is also lost (unless the user made a backup somewhere)?
    Anyway, here’s what happened:
I had made a fairly recent backup of the catalog to an external hard drive, so I copied that backup onto my new hard drive. Then in the Elements Organizer, I clicked on File; Restore Catalog from CD, DVD or Hard Drive. In the window that popped up, I directed it to the backup file (Backup.tly) and specified a location for restoring files and catalog. Then I clicked on Restore.
Up came a window that named one of my 12,000 fotos and said these approximate words “File already exists, do you want to overwrite it?”. I finally said Yes, and then it went on to another of my 12,000 fotos and asked the same question. I assume it planned to go through all 12,000 fotos, but I can’t imagine why.
But instead of continuing, I then got a window that said, “Error encountered while restoring catalog. It is recommended that you contact your disc drive manufacturer and upgrade to the latest available firmware for your specific disc drive before trying again.” (By the way, all my other programs are working fine on the new hard drive.)
I sure hope someone out there can tell me what’s going on. Thank you so much.
    Don

You copied the backup onto your new hard drive? Yes or no? Where was it before?
Then did you try to restore to the exact same location where you placed the copy?
HEre is the proper way to restore a catalog: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402894.html
By the way ... you say: "Elements HELP has nothing about  reconnecting to an old photo catalog." I disagree.
You say: "Is it possible (???) that Elements does  not keep the catalog separate from the program itself" not only is it possible, but Elements does indeed keep the catalog separate from the program itself.

  • Restoring old data onto new iPhone 4S

I had an iPhone 4 and just got the 4S, but when I plugged the 4S into my mac it registered as a new phone and didn't ask to restore it from my old one. How do I get my old data on this new phone?

Hi, I'd been researching re: restoring from Back-up on my iPhone 4 and it all says "Connect iPhone to iTunes, in Left column of iTunes under devices, control click or option click or command click, it is one of those, your new iPhone's name. A menu will drop down, select Restore from Backup"....
My question is.. How come the Restore from Backup is not showing when right clicking on my iPhone.
Any idea why is this happening and is there any way that I can restore my newly upgraded iPhone?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Restoring Old Apps on new drive

I purchased a new HD for my mac and I've already installed the OS, but I want to restore my old documents and apps to the new drive. How do I do this?

If you have a full Time Machine backup, you can restore your *entire system* to the exact state it was in at the time of the last (or any other) backup. See item #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions post at the top of this forum.
Or, since you've already installed Leopard, you can use it's normal "set up" procedure, then towards the end, where it asks if you already have a Mac, you can choose to "migrate" from the backups, as detailed in the *Erase, Install, & Migrate* section of the Glenn Carter - Restoring Your Entire System / Time Machine post at the top of this forum.
Or, you can use the Migration Assistant app, in your Applications/Utilities folder. Just start it up and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • The new software bricked me ... cannot restore, synch, start as new ipod

I purchased the upgraded software and went through the big back-up for a restore. When it was done it said the restore failed. I've tried to restore from the back-up (the files are still taking up 5GB on my hard drive), when that failed twice I tried the "use as a new ipod" option but it will not let me copy any files to the itouch. I just keep getting the message "the ipod 16GB iTouch cannot be synched. The required file cannot be found."
I am going on vacation with the family Friday morning -- 2 itouches for 2 kids in the backseat. I need this to work and I am afraid to upgrade the other itouch I own. Please help.

Now my other itouch won't stay connected to my MAc and it wants me to update to 2.2.1 (fat chance). So now neither itouch works properly, and one is bricked. Great, that's $530 US.

  • Cannot move old profile to new installation

I need to move my FF profile to a new FF installation on a new PC, but I cannot get the profile to "stick".
I have tried copying the old profile's files into the new default folder and changing the .ini file's default to match, but it isn't working. I tried deleting the new default profile and inserting the old one, but the new default profile folder recreates itself. Where is FF storing the new default profile number and how can I change it?
I know it is possible to move an existing profile to a new FF installation as i have done it before, but I just cannot get it to work this time. What am I doing wrong?

  • Old pictures onto new phone using iCloud

On my IPad I had a bunch of pictures and videos but last year I gave the iPad to my mom. Reseting it before i have it to her I never knew how I could get those photos and videos onto my new one. They were in "The Cloud" does anyone know how I can get them?

You could have recovered them by restoring them to another iPad, but Apple deletes iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity (about 6 months).  If the backup is older than that then it no longer exists.  If you had a backup on your computer, you could still restore that to another iPad.

Trying to restore data from my ipod-2nd gen into my ipod-5th gen.  I-tunes looks like it is all good but when I power up my new ipod reverts to the old "hello" and  set up.  Unsure of what to do.

    Are you following these instructions?

Are all the restore steps successfully completing
