Cannot save GP object

Hi all,
I want to change the Permission for a Block in the GP. However, when I have changed one of the principal's permission say from "read" to "initiate" and click save, I encountered the following error:

Hi Keith,
without knowing the details of you system settings and the system where it happens (prod, dev, ...). One general remark:
If you save a query lots of repository objects are generated an written to a transport request (i.e. structures, selections, ...), not only one for the query itself. Maybe in your case, the original query uses a globally defined structure in the columns or rows. If you now want to "save as" new query, many objects are checked for transportation. The global structure can not be saved as local object, because it was already transported before. Whilst the new query itself can be stored as local object. Means not all objects of the new query can be saved as local, because some are already transported.
One way to check if this could also be your problem, both of your mentioned example users should try to save exactly the same query as new local query.

Adios

  • Cannot save asset - Object [object global] has no method 'submitForm'

    Hi,
I am getting following error message on the contributor UI everytime I create / save a flex asset. I am on 11G WCS.
Object [object global] has no method 'submitForm'
Anyone know how to fix this?
    thanks!

It does seem like a Adobe code issue as I do not see any of
your code in the trace stack.
In the Adobe ListBase.as the line (1357) of code is commented
as part of an if block. "if necessary, make the rows that will
eventually be offscreen, above visible rows" There are a number of
variables in the line and one or more of them is not defined. Thus
that leads me to believe a timing problem with updating the
    DataGrid.
However what code is listening to the event you are
    dispatching? Do you get there?

  • Cannot save as PDF - "Could not save a copy as (filename) because the file is already in use..."

I have a number of PSD files I've created and I'm trying to save them as PDFs.
I can Save for Web and Devices, I can save as a .gif, .eps., and every other format I've tested, but I cannot save as a PDF. I get the error:
"Could not save a copy as (filename) because the file is already in use or was left open by another application."
    I'm running Adobe Master Collection CS5 with Photoshop CS 5.5 (12.0.4 x64) on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.
I have a 928 GB HD with 697 GB free.
I have rebooted and tried saving the files immediately after I reboot. I have killed my virus scanner. I have killed a number of other possible culprits including Acrotray.exe and CS5ServiceManager.ext
I have run Process Explorer as recommended by Microsoft and found no applications using the file. I've also tried saving the file to my external hard drive and/or renaming the file with only rare luck.
    Nothing seems to fix it.
The boards seem to suggest Adobe isn't taking responsibility for this and pointing it back to the OS or other software. I'm willing to believe them if someone can show me how/where to kill whatever process it is - but at this point, all my indicators point back to Photoshop.

Here is a clip from a past post where user could not drag and drop files to hard drive.
To my great relief I have now sorted this issue and offer the following as the Correct Answer. My sincere and grateful thanks go to Curt and Yammer, above, who have helped me so much in sorting this Windows 7 issue which is clearly very relevant to Bridge users also. Any slowness to grasp what they have been saying is down to me!
The key to solving this issue lies is understanding that in terms of Windows 7 Security, every internal or external hard drive, plus folders, sub-folders and files thereon has an OWNER. Also each OWNER has a certain level of PERMISSION to do things such as moving files to a different folder, deleting or re-naming them etc. If you try to do things that you don't currently have Permission to do, that is when you get an ‘Access Denied’ error message. Also your system has an Admistrator or Administrators and at the outset you need to ensure through the Control Panel that you are listed as one of them. .
If, like me, you didn't realise these things, (and why would you if Microsoft or your computer or hard drive suppliers couldn't be bothered to really make sure you knew about them), then trying to fathom the ‘Access Denied’ problem becomes a stressful and frustrating nightmare as I can testify having spent a week at it!
The steps that I took to resolve the issue and which I believe now constitute the 'Correct Answer' are as follows:
First make sure that you have Administrator rights on your system via the Control Panel
Next ‘right click’ on the Drive whose files you want to gain full access to, for example the drive that your pictures are stored on, and click on 'Properties'.
Under the Security tab you will see a list of Groups and Users on this drive and the Permissions that they have to do things.
Before doing anything to edit these Permissions, first click on the Advanced button. This opens another window with a tab showing the Owner of this drive.
Click on the Owner tab and if you are not already listed as the owner, make yourself the owner by selecting your name from the list. I believe it should appear there if you are an admistrator or user. (In my case at this stage the owner was initially shown as an obscure string of numbers and letters which I believe identified the drive when it was connected to the lap top I was using before I upgraded my machine)
Now be sure to check the box that says "Replace Owner on Subcontainers and Objects" and the click Apply. On completion of this step, the drive in question and all the folders, subfolders and files thereon should now be 'owned' by you. You could check this out by right clicking on a particular folder then clicking Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner. Your name should appear. So far so simples!
Now go back to the Security Tab for your drive (Step 2 / 3 above) and look at the Permissions you currently have. Your aim now is to allow yourself 'Full Control.' If you don’t currently have this level of permission click Edit, select your name on the list, check ‘Full Control’ and 'Apply' the change.
I think I'm right in saying that at this point whilst still working in the Drive directory you are now given the option of ticking boxes which allow you to, in effect, cascade the permission you have just granted yourself to all the files and folders on that drive. Tick the box to allow this and Windows should then take care of the rest.If I'm not quite correct here then in my particular case, for example, all my images were stored on my external drive. The top level, or 'parent' folder in which all my pictures could be found was the 'My Pictures' folder and I had created a number of folders and subfolders ('child ' folders) within that folder. The permissions I gave to the Parent folder – My Pictures – were cascaded down through the Child folders.
On completion of the above step I tested the result in Windows Explorer by dragging a few files back and forth between folders and it now worked perfectly - I was now able to move / delete / rename etc all files without now getting the dreaded access denied message. What a sense of relief! This meant that I could now open Bridge normally rather than having to right click it and 'Run As Admistrator' - albeit that is a very useful thing to do until you get the problem sorted as described.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • Thread safety bug in XPS Serializer or FixedDocument sequence? "calling thread cannot access this object..."

Every once in a while (500 iterations or more) I'm getting an exception in the static method below stating "calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it".  Thing is, this method references no external objects
and performs no special threading operations.  All of the WPF objects are created and consumed in this method.  The only aspect that is multi-threaded is that this method can get called concurrently on different threads in the same app domain (the
project is a Windows service). That said the fileToDecollate parameter will be unique every time, so there is no "collision" as far as that goes.
Any ideas?   This is maddening and in theory it should not be possible to blow this error.

I have opened a support case with Microsoft through my employer.  I'm convinced there is some .NET framework code that is not thread safe.  I did put together a test harness app that demonstrates the problem (within 30 seconds or so after
you start it) and I sent that to MS support.  They're looking into it. Anyone else who is curious can download the sample project here:

  • Cannot Save NULL value to database

I cannot save a null value through the data tab in the multi-row updates pane. It always gives me an error such as "Invalid number". It works fine through normal SQL update statement. Is there a preference somewhere to turn this on?
    thanks in advance
    Paul P

    Hi Paul,
Just use the backspace key to obliterate any existing value -- that makes it null. Afterwards, if you refresh or close/reopen the object, the data tab will display any null as the value set in Tools | Preferences | Database | Advanced | Display Null Value As .

  • Cannot save gauge properties

I create a basic gauge. I click on Edit Gauge Properties Properties and change any of the options like Style, Scale, Titles and Labels. The then choose ok. I cannot save and I get the message are your sure you want to navigate away from this page. The changes you made to this object have not been saved.
Has anyone else seen this issue?
    Thank you

Based on your last point 'The ok button is not active'
changes are not interpreted or not valid to apply.
Do it once again with the following:
    Create a gauge
    Save
    Open Properties
    Change gauges per row
    Save--------->Added

  • How to resolve this error - "Cannot save the illustration The requested transformation would make.."

    Hello Adobe Community,
I am trying to organize some album artwork within a pre-designed template and I keep getting this error when trying to save the file in the eps file format:
Cannot save the illustration The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area.
All the art is within the bleed lines. The only transformation I did was rotating one of the pieces 180 degrees. I'm not exactly sure what it is referring to when illustrator says objects are going to completely fall off the drawing area.
    Your insights would be appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Chris

Did you use Guides at all? From the View menu, choose Guides>Clear Guides. Then zoom way out and do a Select All and see if there any stray points near the borders of the artboard. Direct select them and delete. Then try your transformation.

In my opinion this would mean that there is a problem with Toshiba Power Saver
What Toshiba notebook you have exactly?
Maybe reinstalling Power Saver could help. You can find it on official Toshiba website.

  • Cannot persist detached object with @ManyToOne

I have a simple table that holds named relationships between 2 objects. I am using a @ManyToOne type from the relationship object to each of the parent and child objects.
If the parent and child have NOT already been persisted everything works fine. However if either of them have been previously persisted I fail with a "Cannot persist detached object" error. Why is this, and what is the resolution?
Through much trial and error I was never able to get em.merge to resolve the issue. However I did implement a @PrePersist and registered both parent and child in the UnitOfWork and this did make the problem go away. This 'hack' however cannot be the right solution since its not portable in any fashion across other ORM providers.
It's seems as though the Cascade.PERSIST should handle the fact that the objects have already been persisted?
The following is the relationship class:

    Hello,
I wasn't clear. Merge is used on unmanaged objects to 'merge' the changes into the managed object. If the object is new, it will return a managed copy of the object. The only difference between merge and persist when passed in a new object, is that persist makes the passed in object managed, where as merge returns a managed copy - the object passed in remains unmanaged.
As for it being a no-op - it takes a unmanaged copy of an object and returns the managed copy. It will take any changes and merge them into the managed copy, which as you said, is a no-op if there aren't changes. But your object model must have changes - you set a parent-child bidirectional relationship. Also, merge will cascade over the tree. So if you call it on your parent, and you have added a new child in say a 1:M mapping, it will persist the child - if you have the relation set to cascade merge+persist.
What are the problems you run into with merge?
As for find - depending on your options, it will hit the cache. The point is that the spec requires you to only reference managed objects. I believe this is to allow the cache to maintain object identity - it would cause problems if you read back the newly persisted child and its referenced parent was unmanaged. Any changes to the parent (such as adding the child to its collection) also need to be managed, so the only way to do that is on a managed copy -either by first using find and then making the changes or by merging the changes made to a detached copy.
    Best Regards,
    Chris
