Thanks for the reply Veeravalli.
I have stoped the services and delete the config.lok file then edited the config.xml file under *%MW_HOME%\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config* . Then started the BI services. Now its working fine.
Thanks,
Haree

  • ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist

I'm running an Xserve G5 with one internal boot drive and one RAID using the other two internal drives. I used Apple's Disk Utility to set-up the RAID.
Back in early December, I moved my mail database and mail store to the RAID. Ever since, when I restart the server, the mailaccess.log generates the following error:
Jan 23 18:51:33 mail master[47]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist: /Volumes/RAID/mail.data/db
I'm speculating this is a timing error that gets created when Postfix initially can't find the RAID. Then, it must try again and find it because the error message does not repeat and mail starts running.
Is this something to worry about?

    Hi Joel,
You're right, it's a timing issues. The mail system is ready for work before the file system is mounted. It's benign.

  • Mail server log says: master[50]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services...

Recently, after a year or more of relatively smooth service, my OS X Server 10.4.11 Mail services has been locking up daily.
I was finally able to get some information from the log files (I am a noob to this) and saw the following right after my most recent reboot of the server:
Oct 5 09:51:11 mm1 master[50]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist: /Volumes/Data/mail/var/imap
I checked the server and that directory is indeed there on the partition named "DATA", so I am baffled as why the server does not thing the configuration directory exists?

Thanks Alex for the feedback. You are helpful as always!
It's good to know that the message I am getting from the mail server about the configuration files is only a temporary thing. Although I find it strange that the mail service doesn't know where its config files are since it is specified in the mail server setup.
I looked at the log files you mentioned and do not see anything that looks like a specific problem with the mail services themselves.
Recently, however, I have been having recurring problems where my mail server and my Web/Database server have both become unresponsive at nearly the same time even though they are on different class A networks to where I cannot access them via ARD, Server Admin and even SSH. That is usually when my mail server goes offline. I was afraid it was because of that configuration error I was seeing, but think now that the problem could be something else entirely (maybe some kind of network problem or denial of service hacking attack, no idea).
    Thanks again.

Followed the guide @ http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bam/technote-bam-multiplesecurityprovid-130532.pdf
    As per the BAM requirement,

  • Can't start OLAPServer service after installing patches #9.0.1.3

I had a running OLAPServer service before I installed the 9i latest patches (#9.0.1.3) yesterday.
I have tried to use either Windows Service Manager or OLAP Services Instances Manager to start that service.
When I tried to use OLAP OSIM, I got error message like this :

I have tried to create a new database and set all the OLAP configuration, but it is still not working..
Is there someone can help me to figure out what happened ?

Thank's for your suggestion. But my problem occured after I installed the 9.0.1.3.1 patch on my 9i database server (in run on XP Pro machine). I have checked OLAPDBA,OLAPSYS,and OLAPSVR security status, they are NOT LOCKED and NOT EXPIRED.

    From systemd.unit:
    Requires=
Configures requirement dependencies on other units. If this unit gets activated, the
units listed here will be activated as well. If one of the other units gets
deactivated or its activation fails, this unit will be deactivated. This option may be
specified more than once or multiple space-separated units may be specified in one
option in which case requirement dependencies for all listed names will be created.
Note that requirement dependencies do not influence the order in which services are
started or stopped. This has to be configured independently with the After= or Before=
options. If a unit foo.service requires a unit bar.service as configured with
Requires= and no ordering is configured with After= or Before=, then both units will
be started simultaneously and without any delay between them if foo.service is
activated. Often it is a better choice to use Wants= instead of Requires= in order to
achieve a system that is more robust when dealing with failing services.

    Hello Rakesh,
I tried the following and it worked for me !! I can start the Presentation services now. You might want to check these 2 things:
    1) C:\OracleBI\server\Config\ NQSconfig.INI check which rpd file is there
    2) C:\OracleBIData\web\config \ instanceconfig.xml see which one is there
Note: If Samplesales is creating problem. Creat one more folder there called Samplesales1 and provide the path of samplesales1 instead of samplesales in instanceconfic.xml file.
Make sure there must be only one folder under one name(check here : C:\OracleBIData\web\catalog) ,or it will create problem.
Hope this should work for you
    Cheers,

By definition your installation was not successful.
What network were you connected to when you installed the database?
After you rebooted are you still connected to the same network?
    Has the IP Address changed?
How is "HOST" defined in your listener.ora tnsnames.ora files?
Oracle 10g dot anything is currently in desupport mode. It would be far better to install 11gR2 at this point in time.

  • Ts-l663b cd/dvd "device cannot start, code 10" after uppgrade from vista to windows 7 home

    Compaq CQ60-216DX
Hi,I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Home and now the CD drive is missing and displays an error code"10" DEVICE CANNOT START, under Device Manager.
Looked for updated drivers on HP Support, there are none for CD drive.
    Cannot roll back driver,greyed out.
Used Restore to revert back 2 months and still no progress. Removed recently installed software from HP(C5280) printer as well.
Immediately after upgrade,CD drive worked fine. Even loaded music into iTunes.
I'm at a loss. Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Win2k cannot start oracle services

    Hi,
Usually, our oracle servers can start up autometically
    when the machine start up.

    start->control panel->administrator tool-> services to
start oracle service, it gets errors as following:

Then I try to use "lsnrctl start listener"
    I got following errors:
Failed to start service, error 5.
    TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
I check listener log file, no new message is add to it.
My OS is window 2000 professional.
    Oracle server version: 9.0.1.1.1
    Thank you for some advice.
    Julie

    Hi,
I try to fix it by change log on setting by
setting the oracle service as 'this account' and
fill in account and password with system administrator
account information. Then all oracle services can work
properly. But with this setting the web application which
connect oracle database cannot login to database.
It may be the registry database of the machine get
    corrupted.
How can I delete all oracle services and recreate the
them again, then will re-register the service information?
By the way, all other services in system are log on as
localsystem account, only oracle services does not allow
me set up as localsystem account, if I did that way, oracle service will not start and complain "error 5:
    access is denied"
Thank you for give me some guide lines.

  • Start SQL services after IP change

    Hello
We have two SQL instances in the same computer: default (MSDE) and named instances (SQL 2008).
We changed the IP address a few days ago, and suddenly we cannot start the SQL services in either instance.
I think in the past when I did a select @@servername, the result was
    - for the default instance, it was the IP
    - for the name instance, it was the IP\instance_name
Is there a work around other than changing it back to the original IP or re-installing SQL server?
    Thanks
    Carbond.

    Hi,
Is the SQL instance running in a clustered environment?
What's the error message when trying to starting SQL Server service?
It is hard to give the suggestion unless geting some error message. Please check out the SQL error log and post the error message here.
    Thanks.
