Cannot submit batch error!

When I go to submit a batch for compression, I get an error that says:
Cannot submit batch
Unable to connect to background process.
Is there a way to fix this?
I use Compressor 2.

It says when I run it:
Resetting Qmaster...
Checking file permissions...
/Applications/Apple Qadministrator.app does not exist. You are advised to reinstall Compressor / Qmaster.
/Applications/Apple Qmaster.app does not exist. You are advised to reinstall Compressor / Qmaster.
Removing temporary spool data...
Trashing preferences...
Trying to start Qmaster...
Repair complete.
Well, I cannot unistall the program at the moment because actually, I got it from my brother who got it from a friend. What else can I do?

  • Compressor 2.3.1 Cannot submit batch error message What is causing this?

    Just installed FCP 5 with DVD Studio pro 4 and Compressor 2 and tried to do a batch compression exported from FCP, I selected the compression I wanted and chose my destination and clicked submit and I get this error message "Cannot submit batch Unable to connect to background process" I did try to Reset Background Processing and it did not make a difference, any suggestions would be appreciated.

    The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope.  This could mean that the object....
    - is declared but not instantiated
    - doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)
    - does not exist in the frame where that code is trying to talk to it
    - is animated into place but is not assigned instance names in every keyframe for it
    - is one of two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects with no name assigned in the preceding frame(s).
    If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.

  • Have leopard but still get Cannot Submit Batche error message in Compressor

    i get the "cannot submit batch unable to connect to background process" error message. Some posts attribute this to a Tiger anomaly but it has happened to me after i went to 10.4.10--though i had not used my DVDSP2 in several months.
    Any suggestions appreciated

    Sounds like your compressor preferences are trashed. You can try getting your old compressor preferences before you installed leopard.
    leopard keeps some of the old file from you previous system.
    I forget what the name of the folder is but its something like previous versions in your main directory. From the previous system folder navigate to your old
    compressor settings. users>yourname>library>application support>compressor.
    copy those files from you previous system folder and move them the new compressor files location that can be found under you username NOT IN THE PREVIOUS SYSTEM FOLDER.
    You can also try moving your present compressor settings to the trash (DO NOT EMPTY)and rebooting then launching compressor. You might get prompted to reinstall compressor from disk or website file.
    There also used to be a way to download just compressor from apples website.
    If all that doesn't work. DO A CLEAN INSTALL final cut likes that better then upgrades.
    Back up and do a clean build.
    Back up old content to other HD then OS is on.
    Reformat OS HD
    Reinstall OS
    Reinstall FCP (long time).
    FCP will be happier that way.
    HOPE IT HELPS.

  • Compressor 2.0 cannot submit batch problem (incomplete or empty batch)

    Hi
    Trying to use compressor for the first time on my laptop. Having finally got compressor to open. I select the fcp sequence to compress select the settings i want and try to submit. Then i get the following message "cannot submit batch, empty or incomplete batch". The sequence shows up ok on the preview window and plays so i am assuming its imported ok?
    any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is a 1 hour 45 minute dvd. Tried to use export quicktime mpeg2 from my old mac and using the laptop as a firewire drive, hours later the dvd burned pressed play but no sound!!!! so trying compressor on the laptop hence the request. Dont have the mpeg2 quicktime export on this laptop but do on my old imac with fcp 4 but using fcp5.0 to create project.I am still playing with it not quite up to speed as it has been months since i used any of these apps.
    powerbook G4 17 inch 1.5GHZ   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   new hard drive fitted ! shouldnt have died so soon not a happy bunny!!

    Hey Sean, i have seen this before and you will kick yourself when i tell you the answer (i know i did).
    even though you import a sequence into Compressor's batch list, to set an actual parameter to encode, you have to physically click on the original file IN Compressor's batch window.
    so you import file.mov into compressor
    you CLICK on file.mov
    THEN you select whatever parameter you want to use
    if you want to add more than one setting, you CLICK on file.mov AGAIN and set your next setting
    FINALLY you click on submit

    The error message I am getting every time I try to go from Final Cut to Compressor is as follows: "You need to restart your computer or verify compressor was installed correctly" and it does this every time you hit submit on a batch, i know the program was installed right so that cant be the problem, any ideas out there on how to remedy this without completely re-installing final cut studio?

  • Cannot submit batch?  Try this

    If you are like me, and ready to put a gun to your head over Apple Compressor's "Cannot connect to background process" BUG, then here is something you can try. It's insane to have to do this, but if like me you REALLY NEED to be able to export to Compressor from Final Cut (my reference movie was 100GB and taking two days to encode, and then not even correctly), here is what is working for me:
    1) Restart the machine with the ethernet cable unplugged. (Why, I don't know, but it has been the only way I can get Compressor standalone to work).
    2) Run Compressor by itself and start compressing a "Decoy" movie, something short that you don't really want to compress. If you are lucky, this may work.
    3) Start Final Cut and Export To Compressor the real project you want to compress. Since the Batch Monitor is already running, it will connect! If you are lucky!
    4) You can delete the test movie job in the Batch monitor window and it will start on your real project.
    5) Reconnect the ethernet cable.
    I know it is a hassle but if you have tried the thousands of suggestions out there with no success, this isn't as bad as those are.
    Bob

    The content - whether looping or transitions or whatever has nothing to do with the size of the output file. What codec are you using? 30 GB per hour seems a lot. Are you using uncompressed? Was your source uncompressed?.
    As to the ethernet - I meant when it wouldn't let you connect to background processes. But if you're not running compressor 2, I don't think you have clusters.
    Are you exporting to Compressor from FCP? If you do a non-self contained QT, how big is that? What happens if you submit that to compressor directly.
    Finally (probably should have been Firstly), why are you using Compressor? If you're going to DVDSP, just take the non-selfcontained QT and put that into DVDSP, let it handle the compressing/muxing. What version of DVDSP do you have?
    Patrick
    EDIT: Wait a minute - you're saying that the non-self contained (reference) movie is 100GB?!?!? That would imply a HUGE amount of un-rendered material (this must be rendered and placed in the "reference" quicktime). If you have un-rendered material, you should render it BEFORE exporting.

  • Sharepoint 2010, InfoPath 2010 with Custom Workflow. Error Message: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while form was submitted...

    I have created an InfoPath form that submits to a Sharepoint library with custom workflow attached. The workflow is initiated when the user submits the form. An email is sent to the supervisor who clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and approved
    the form via the emailed form. Then, based on certain criteria the form is either emailed to the VP or the workflow is complete. The VP is sent an email and clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and sumbits the form via the emailed form. This is
    how I would like it to work. The reality is, the form submits and is emailed to the supervisor and the supervisor is able to approve but when the form is sumbitted I get an error. The error is "InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while
    this form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: <URL> The file <URL> is checked out for editing by <me> The operation completed successfully." The operation did not complete successfully and it
    is not checked out. I have read in previous posts that the file is locked. Since I am in the testing faze of the project there is no one else using the form. I have waited 24 hours and the lock has not been released. Please help!!! My deadline is growing short.

    I ran into your post while having a similar issue.  I don't have a 'full' fix for you, but I noticed at least in our case if you made sure you opened the Infopath form through the browser instead of the client Infopath program (use the drop-down menu
    and open in browser) the error doesn't occur.  Hope that helps some....

  • DI-Error: You cannot select batch or serial numbers for a closed row

    Hello Experts,
    I have several B1-Systems connected to R/3-Systems via B1iSN.
    In B1 for example I have 2 rows in Purchase Order. One row was closed by a goods receipt - 1 row is still open.
    From our R/3-System we send Order-Acknowledgements to B1. Because line 1 is already closed we want to ignore row 1 and update only information in row 2. By using KeyExpansion I could solve that requirement (check in B1-System if row is already closed -> insert row in IDoc only with LineNum). For example:
    <Document_Lines>
      *<row>* <!-- ignore -->
        *<LineNum>0</LineNum>*
      *</row>*
       <row> <!-- update -->
        <LineNum>1</LineNum>
        <ItemCode>ABCDEFGHIJK</ItemCode>
      </row>
    </Document_Lines>
    Unfortunately DI-API does not allow to update each row separated. I always have to send all rows in IDoc even if one row is closed.
    For one B1-Company batchnumbers on every transaction is required. When creating Goods Receipt we have to define a batchnumber for item. But now if I want to update a open row (as described above) I get an B1iSN-Error:
    DI Error: (-10) You cannot select batch or serial numbers for a closed row
    Any ideas to solve that Error? Thanks.

    Hi Bastian,
    I have still one open question. How to tread Document Lines Additional Expenses?
    If I use the logic of visual order I still get the error "You cannot select batch or serial numbers for a closed row".
    Example:
    <Document_LinesAdditionalExpenses>
    -      <row>
               <LineNumber>4</LineNumber>*no expenses*
    </row>
    -      <row>
               <LineNumber>0</LineNumber>*no expenses*
    </row>
    -     <row>
               <LineNumber>1</LineNumber>*no expenses*
    </row>
    -     <row>
               <LineNumber>2</LineNumber>*no expenses*
    </row>
    -     <row>
               <LineNumber>3</LineNumber>*expenses correct*
               <ExpenseCode>3</ExpenseCode>
               <LineTotal>10.00</LineTotal>
    </row>
    </Document_LinesAdditionalExpenses>
    How can I solve that?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Cannot submit CD titles to CDDB: an error occurred in the query subsystem

    Ever since I updated to Mountain Lion, I cannot submit CD titles to CDDB/ Gracenote through iTunes. I get the error:
      an error occurred in the query subsystem
    This is on two different computers, both on OS X 10.8.4. One computer is running iTunes 11.0.4, the other is sunning iTunes 10.7. Same error in both cases.
    Help?

    I'd make an educated guess, based on the error message, that the problem lies in the PHP/MySQL on the Gracenote site and it ISN'T an iTunes or Apple problem. What you're seeing is similar to a 503 error in a web browser. That's ALWAYS on the server end. Gracenote may work it out or not, but I doubt it's anything you (on your end) or Apple can fix.

  • Cannot submit datapipe for urb 0, error -28: not enough bandwidth

    cannot submit datapipe for urb 0, error -28: not enough bandwidth
    What is causing this?
    I read something about disabling the following:
    :[ ] Enforce USB bandwidth allocation (EXPERIMENTAL)
    :[ ] Dynamic USB minor allocation (EXPERIMENTAL)
    But I feel that recompiling the kernel and changing in there is a bit out of my league but if it's the only solution there is I guess I have no choice.
    Anyways, I was hoping someone here maybe has seen this issue and know how to solve it.

    I don't think so. I remember for certain patchsets on Solaris (Sparc), to be able to apply the patchset - I had to download an interim patch to update the OUI version. It was necessary to apply that particular patchset. And I got that from Metalink, it was documented in the patchset help file. I guess, you should try the Metalink. The OUI version 10.1.0.4 I was referring to actually comes with iAS 10g R2. For the database version, 10g R2 - OUI version is 10.2.

    Sravan.

    Hi Sravan, this means that one or more of the fields are required to be filled in or have validation set up on them so that the information entered matches a certain criteria. Make sure what's entered matches what's required. If the form still can't be
    submitted, check the rules set in InfoPath and the list/library to see what's causing the error(s).

  • Submit Button error - Data Connection failing

    I am the form designer and am currently testing a new form I have created, however there is an error with my submit button which Saves the form to SharePoint, I receive the following error message:
    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
    The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml
    The file: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml" is checked out for editing by DOMAIN\MyUserName.
    The operation completed successfully.
    The form is not checked out to me, or open by anybody else, also check out functionality is not forced on this SharePoint library.
    On searching forums I have read about using friendly server names and I am using the server's name in the URL, i.e.
    http://servername instead of the alias
    http://intranet - this had solved the problem in other forms, but not this one.
    Looking closely at the rules on my submit button, the following actions occur:
    1st rule checks the selection of certain fields, if the conditions are right it will set the values of 3 different fields.
    The 2nd rule saves to SharePoint using a data connection (please note this data connection works fine on different submit buttons in different views). The second rule also closes the form.
    To test where the error occurs I added a series of actions to display messages, and the problem is definitely on the data connection rule.
    The data connection is to save to a Sharepoint library, using a field called "filename" as the file name. The data connection allows overwrites. The file name is set the first time a file is saved (it has a condition which checks a field which
    gets set upon any save event - if this field is set to 0 filename gets set and this field gets set to 1 - because this field is now equal to 1, the filename field will nwever get set again).
    I have 2 views on the form, one named phase 1, the other named phase 2. When the custom submit button is pressed on the phase 1 view, my data connection works, but on the save 2 view, the exact same data connection fails with the error message above.
    I am using Windows 7, InfoPath 2010, SharePoint 2010, InfoPath filler form).
    In Windows XP, for a different user, the error messaeg is a little different, and the form does actually save:
    InfoPath cannot submit the form
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted
    The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml
    The file is in use by another application or user.
    As I said the form does actually save its changes but still throws up this error message which will be very confusing to end users.
    I've exhausted all avenues that I know of to find the cause of the error messages and I'm at a loss, please help!
    Thanks,
    Ben

    bgvball14. I found that the error was down to the friendly name / server name issue. I have made sure that everything uses the friendly name e.g.
    http://intranet instead of the servername e.g.
    http://servername. I made sure the data connection and all options in the publishing wizard are set to the friendly name. There were still some forms that didn't work though - this was because when trying to fix this problem I had switched several times
    between using the friendly /server names and some forms were looking for the template with the server name (these didn't work), other forms looked for the friendly name (these did work).
    What I did was open my form library in windows explorer view and then drag each form into Notepad so I could see the source code. On the top two lines I could see the reference to the template and in some cases the template weas referenced using the server
    aname, which I changed to the friendly name and this worked. I did have to check every form in the library. Basically, everything should reference the friendly name (e.g.
    http://intranet.

  • "Page cannot be found" error when submitting tabular form

    One of our developers has used a wizard to create a tabular form with the intent or providing an interface for updating one of our tables. The page runs correctly up until the point when the user clicks the Submit button. The user is then re-directed to a "page cannot be found" error page. I checked the apache error log and I'm seeing this error (ip addresses hidden):
    [Wed Oct 13 06:37:59 2004] [error] [client x.xxx.xxx.xxx] [ecid: 1097674679:x.xx.xxx.xx:7286:0:23738,0] mod_plsql: /pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Too many arguments passed in. Got 2009 parameters. Upper limit is 2000
    We have pages in other applications that were built the same way, and can't figure out why we are seeing these errors.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Matt

    Sorry I didn't want to take the time to import the application, create the data structure and populate it, when the page is now working. However it seems like you should be able to easily re-create the situation. All I did was go through the wizard for a tabular form. It was based on a view and displayed all the columns, most of them updatable. It seems like what makes it fail (error when either CANCEL or SUBMIT is clicked) is just having a lot of fields on one screen. I base this conclusion on the error message from the Apache error log (mod_plsql: /pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Too many arguments passed in. Got 2134 parameters. Upper limit is 2000) and on the fix of reducing the number of rows on one screen, using pagination.
