Cannot sync PDF files with Tungsten E2 get error code 2a13

Hello,
I am new to this forum, so please tell me if I am doing something incorrectly.
When I try to sync some PDF files, roughly 50KB - 65KB to an SD Card, I get the following errors:
Failed to install any files to card(s)
Duration: 0.1 seconds
Failed to install 1 file(s)
Error: the following file(s) could not be installed to the SecureDigital SD card because there is no application on your handheld to open these files. If you have recently instlled such an application, please run that application and then peform a HotSyncoperation.
I would like to make it clear that I have installed Adobe Reader for Palm OS from my installation CD that came with my handheld.
I also get the error message:
Protocol error: the path leading up to the file name does not exist. 2A13.
Everything else works and syncs beautifully. Music, games, programs. It is PDF files that will not go to my handheld.
Any help would be appreciated.

In other words, using Adobe Reader for Palm, you must load .pdf files into the desktop Adobe Reader for Palm application first. Then the desktop software converts the .pdf file so that it can be opened and viewed using the handheld Adobe Reader for Palm application. Even then, it is a lousy application which will frequently throw a fit over some .pdf files.
If what you are trying to do is Hotsync native (i.e. unconverted) .pdf files to your card, it won't work. You would need to use an application which can read native .pdf files. The ones I know of include PalmPDF (freeware) or the newer version of Documents To Go.

Assuming you are running 10.10.2 and not the ancient 10.0.2, can you tell us what printer and printer driver you are using? How is the printer connected to the computer (network, usb)? See if you can delete the Reader preference files? Years ago I resetting the printer subsystem would sometimes cure a problem like this.

Which Operating system you are using?
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)] and then try to open the file.

Cannot open pdf files with Firefox's built-in pdf viewer

This just started (I think) with Firefox 37.01. This is on Win7-X64. I cannot open pdf files with the Firefox built-in pdf viewer. If I click on the file or try to open it from within Firefox, it brings up a "opening filename.pdf" message. If I select the "Open with" radio button as 'Firefox (default),' it just keeps looping on this process; it never opens. In Tools => Options => Applications, Portable Document Format (PDF) is indicated as 'Preview in Firefox.' I've never had any other PDF viewer installed on this computer. I've tried disabling all plug-ins and extensions, but it still doesn't work. I searched for solutions but haven't found any for this specific issue.

Have you tried, to start Firefox in safemode you can do so by following these steps

From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Trying to install Lightroom 5 with CC but getting error code 5 on initial startup of Lightroom. Have uninstalled all adobe products including Creative Cloud CC.
Followed the instructions on the forum by using the CC Cleaner App for OSX. Have restarted a number of times and even tried using disk utility to fix any permission probs. Still no luck.
The problem started happening from upgrading the previous version of Lightroom to the most up to date version. Im hoping someone can help me with any ideas. Thanks heaps.

To bypass this error attempt either a restart of your computer, or use an alernate broser such as firefox or chrome. If you already have another browser the latter may be the easier fix.

Acrobat 7.1 IE plugin cannot open .pdf Files with mt/application/octet-stream

Hi Folks,
we have some problems to open pdf - files via Hyperlink in an IE Explorer. this files get from the web-server the MIME-Type "octet-stream".
the only option is to save and then open the pdf files. But we want to open the pdf files directly IN the IE. the option to open it not in IE is not possible because then another application will not work.
Is it generally possible to open an pdf File with an octet-stream MIME-Type with the IE-Pluin, and if Yes is ther any possible configuration we could try.

we already tried to change that checkbox that solves the problem but we get new problems with other applications, so this way is also no option for us.
also we tried to repair / reinstall acrobat, but it has no effect.
I suppose that maybe adobe just closed that door to open pdf documents with the octet-stream MIME-Type. Because it could an way to insert executable files in the system.
maybe a higher version than 7.1 can do this?

Was never a problem in the past on my IMac

That crash is a known bug in Apple's display code.
But it's the QuickDraw code, which Apple does not want to fix.
There is nothing we can do about that OS bug, other than to suggest using a more recent version of Photoshop written to the Cocoa APIs.

Cannot open pdf file with Firefox 11.0

Firefox automatically upgrades the version I am using. Since it was recently upgraded I cannot open pdf files. Am faced with a blank page. I went through some of the suggestions on these pages and when I opened the Tools window, there is a warning:
Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac OS X is incompatible with Firefox 11!
Is there a way around it? Or is it time to say goodbye to Firefox and move to Safari?

Cannot print pdf files with 9.3.1, cannot remove patch

does anyone know how to fix msi problems ? updater says 9.3.1 is more functional than 9.4 what does that mean? does that mean I need to remove 9.3.1 in order to install 9.4 ? All i want out of this is the ability to control what stays and want goes onto my hard drive and the ability to print PDF files like the product claims. I swear as my life advances I will not buy a product from a company that cannot support me with there standard issues of products . offering a free product that malfunctions is not my idea of building a trusting relationship. What's more disturbing is that I talked with Ganesh this morning on adobe chat and know i cannot even register with that email. already beyond that(go to add remove
programs and click remove). I did my backup and downloaded windows installer cleanup from http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html After download when I ran the program to install it, the window that popped up was labled "Microsoft Office Update". When that disappeared I found Windows Installer Cleanup located in the All programs list in start. I clicked it and a window popped up about the size of task manager. I scrolled down and highlighted Adobe 9.3.1 and clicked remove and it removed it and the 9.3.1 unremovable update from the conrol panel. Then I went to Adobe.com , downloads and downloaded Adobe 9.4, installed it, and tested it by printing a PDF file. Before I was scared to mess up my netbook and didn't want to deal with the hassle, but we all have our limits until we start to take these kind of risks into the unknown. sometimes, even though it's a burden to register to umpteen forums, it's that extra hassle that gets you over the edge. Please share this info. ohh yeah, NONE of this was done in safe mode.

Whenever I try to print a PDF file it prints teh header but empty page s.. I have the Adobe add on and it is enabled .. The same file is printable with Internet Explorer .
Help !! Getting awfully tired of opening uo IE just to print .. If anyone has suggestion, a reeply to [email protected] would be great
